Smartcat is ideal for saving my translation work, it has allowed me to evaluate my improvement in the time I have been using it. Its translation memory is the ultimate, truly artificial intelligence.

Pros

It is an excellent software that allows you to store your translation work, ideal to take it everywhere and to evaluate your development as a translator. It also has ideal translation memories to generate a more intelligent translator. It's easy to use.

Cons

Customer service is not very good. You need a good internet connection to use it properly.

As a freelancer I receive once in a while orders from customers and Smartcat deals with payment and all related things. All I have to do is to translate or edit the materials and I do not waste any time for unnecessary actions.

Pros

The software is very intuitive and easy to work with.

This software helped me to be a more consistent and effective translator. I can have access to all of my projects at any time from any computer. I also have access to a multi-customer platform which has increased my work range. This is a great characteristic!

Pros

This tool allows you to have access to your work projects at any time anywhere. Your translation memories are always available which helps to make you a more consistent translator. Translation memories may be exported or imported depending on your needs. This is one of the most amazing advantages.

Cons

Machine translation provided and customer support needs to be improved. It gets a little slow sometimes when in maintenance.

Pros

I love that the software breaks the text down into small chunks so it can be better disseminated. It is also helpful to have the formatting prompts (if a proper noun is spelled incorrectly it will flag). I like that there is a suggested translation first and the translator can then shape the text

Cons

the interface may possibly be enlarged to allow a better view of the text being worked on (a zoom function maybe)

It's ease of use. Unlike offline CAT tools this tool does not load my PC memory and the MTs can be downloaded later together with the translation.

Apart from some mysterious figures rather complicated to understand on the whole I like working with this tool.

Pros

Colours and layout in general are fine. Some explanations are too pale at times though.

Cons

Too many confusing figures when showing number of words, money to receive and the total lack of dates. Please, put some dates next to the projects ans files, when started, when modified, when finished in a clear way on the page of the tasks. There is nothing now! When changing a segment somewhere one can never go back to the place where working before, no clear button lead immediately to the last position one was working on. I don't understand why this extremely important feature is not clearly visible on the navigation bar at the top.

I had a great experience. Would definitely recommend it.

Pros

I liked how practical it was. It made it very easy for me to do my jobs and it helped me accomplish my tasks faster.

Cons

When the software translated there were corrections that I was not able to do on the software so it made me have to talk to the team to let them know about this because I couldn't do it through smart cat.

Pros

Smartcat is very simple to use, intuitive and efficient. It's a very rich CAT tool that allows for a faster workflow and ensures consistency all along. The platform runs smoothly and users can easily create and save projects.

Cons

I really can't come up with any cons so far. :)

Cons

When stating your rates, you can't officially specify the rate is per source word, and a client happened to believe the rate was per edited word on a PEMT job. Fortunately, he acknowledged it was abusive and paid the correct amount in the end.

Cons

The only con is: - Not a lot of work there - you must have a very good experience with an attractive profile

I think this software has a great future.

Pros

What I like about this software is the fact that I have an alternative to use when clients ask me to work on Trados and deliver translation memories.

Cons

What I like the least is the function that allow the first translation to answer the offer to get the job. This made me lose lots of job opportunities.
