Pros This makes dispatching my plumbers to any location super easy, and they like being able to see their schedule for the day so that they can stock their trucks with what they need for each job. April 13, 2020 5.0 We're getting a much better overall picture of the time used. I began seeing a general pattern in travel times to and from the jobs. Time going to a job was consistently longer than coming home. Turns out they were stopping to pick up parts along the way. While one guy went into the supply house, three more were sitting in the truck. Processes were put in place to eliminate the need for the stop. Pros Simple setup, easy to use by crew and for me the best part is that it actually calculates the overtime. Cons As a construction company, we often use multiple rates for the same guy. First of all, they all make different rates depending on their skills and time with the company. Second, they make less to ride in the truck than they do when they're onsite. It would be awesome if this could somehow be factored in. Reason for choosing ClockShark I was exploring several options, but honestly what sealed the deal was my interactions with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]. She set me up with the free trial, but then it took me almost a month before I got a chance to look into it further. I explained my situation, and she didn't hound me about it. When I was ready, she was there for me. She didn't pressure me into making a decision immediately. She helped me understand how it would fit with our operation, let me digest how best to use it, then followed up to answer my second round of questions and offer some final pointers. I wish every sales person was as patient as she was! She's my favorite Shark! I love the software and it really has made life easier keeping track of my 30+ employees. I give it a 10 out of 10 Cons off hand i cant think of any..... i would have to ask my accountant, i do know there is a couple of minor things that i would like to see but my memory fails me right now Reason for choosing ClockShark the first time i was given a demo on the software, i knew it was perfect for my company. also the support staff is awsome, when we have a question they readily are there to answer it. Vice President Construction Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Frustration with time & attendance for a small business" November 2, 2016 5.0 I use Clock Shark's time & attendance software for our hourly & salaried employees in the office & field (not commissioned sales personnel). My search for finding this software was a result of being frustrated from an administrative standpoint of dealing with the paper timesheet for many years. No matter what changes I would implement to make procedures more stream-lined, it was difficult to get the results I wanted. Over the course of several years, I had researched and found many time & attendance software systems which would accommodate our needs. However, the costs for the software and maintenance were not feasible for a company our size - small. In 2015 I finally found Clock Shark that met my criteria - affordable, intuitive for the end user, receive timesheets on time to meet payroll, and job-costed correctly 98% of the time. I also discovered that the bonus of this software app was it integrated with Quickbooks payroll and has the capability to GPS track. After a few weeks of test runs with the app last October, I implemented the software on Jan 1 of this year. While there were some minor hiccups at the transition to this new system (mostly user errors), overall it performed well and eliminated most of my administrative frustrations dealing with the timesheet. The by-product of transitioning to this system was that it held everyone accountable and lowered our payroll costs. Since implementing the software, it has made my life easier for payroll and job costing purposes. The other unseen benefit is the ability to check on where your employees are or what they are working on while you are out of the office anywhere in the world that has internet service. It proved to work well when I traveled to Europe this summer. Even though we have a good staff and trust them, I was curious to see what would happen while I was out of town. I quit looking after a few days when I realized everyone was being held accountable to the time & attendance software. And even if I never did look, I had the ability to look at the time clock punch entries at a later time if something was questionable. I'm getting close to a year of using this software app, and overall it has taken away a lot of frustration I was experiencing with timesheets. I've been very happy with Clock Shark overall. The fact that it exports the times to Gusto is what confirmed it for me. The other options such as GPS and the schedules is awesome. So far we've loved using it. It does have a bit of a learning curve in some areas, but this is our first time using a time clock software, so it could be the fact that I'm a nOOb. Pros I love the mobile time tracking. Our crew is in the field daily. The fact it tracks via GPS is incredibly helpful. Not only for employee tracking, but also for job documenting. Very useful if a customer tries to say we were not at the job at a certain time, certain length of time, or at all. Our employees find it quite easy to use as well. I LOVE that it exports the times with Gusto, our payroll system. Cons The scheduling part can be a bit of a hassle. It's a little hard when we have multiple jobs for the same customer, to identify which job is which by the side menu. It'd also be convenient to see the job details by just clicking on the job in the daily schedule/ calendar portion of the schedules. July 28, 2021 5.0 Pros I can instantly check my employees hours to see who will be on overtime, if they work late. On Friday afternoon all the employees hours are calculated and ready to send to my payroll service. I can see where my drivers were when they clocked in. If you have some less than honest employees which I do not at the moment the face recognition option would be awesome. Cons When you look at the time cards it doesn't report the time from the current work day until the employee clocks out. I would like to look at the time card and see a live time reading from the current day. The facial recognition takes too long I would like for it to happen automatically at clock in. I can see a lot of potential and benefits but the learning curve is something I have to get through also. Pros I like that we now have a way to have our staff clock in through a system that tracks the work and we can set them to specific jobs. This is a lot more efficient than using our old paper method where our team may struggle remembering how long they worked for. Cons I'm not sure if I'm still just learning but I don't like that I can't always get the guys to see what job they are going to before it time to clock in. I also don't understand how to connect it to QB and not receiving much feedback to my emails can be slightly annoying. You shouldn't expect a tons of help to learn the info because you will only receive documents going over everything. I eventually ended up researching and watching YouTube video's on my own to learn which takes you away from important tasks when you should receive more feedback. Just be ready for some confusion when you start implementing it into the field. Pros The software is super easy to use and user-friendly, especially with the new Spanish language update. Viewing reports is also very simple and well laid out. Cons It seems to be so simplistic that it's complicated for someone who has never used it before. Functions such as changing job tasks and clocking out are very easy to perform, but since they are so simple, many of our workers get confused about how to do them. When we first switch from Clockshark to Exaktime it was because they had a physical clock that could be put at construction sites and the program at the time was more advance than Clockshark. July 1, 2022 5.0 Some of our clients are invoiced by the hour for the time our employee is on-site cleaning. The GPS tracking feature automatically enforces accurate time reporting and thereby happy clients that are not overcharged. Pros Being able to quickly determine that employees are where they need to be at any time makes life a lot easier. Cons A couple of employees needed help getting the app set up properly on their phone, but the ClockShark support staff was there to help and were terrific. My company uses iPads for everything so clocking in on your phone every day just makes sense. Pros Using ClockShark is incredibly easy. I love that our employees can edit their own time if they have forgotten to clock out. It’s also incredibly helpful that you can leave notes for each clock in. In my industry where I have technicians riding in different vehicles daily, the notes feature really helps me track my guys and know where they are for the day. The tasks are not neccesarily autosaved but it should display the most recently used jobs/task at the very top so its fast to select! You can adjust your mobile settings to enable more recently used jobs if you'd like, by going to the left pop out menu > settings > listing sort & recent items > then adjust the recent items amount. Pros The ability to track employees time, the ease of removing employees Cons Not being able to clock an employee in or fix their time while they are clocked in I have to wait until they either switch or clock out to correct time. No being able to effectively get ahold of employees through their time app to ask questions on their time. Pros Best feature is the customer service. They are very responsive and care about the company. Cons There are many features I wish they had. 1) Ability to adjust timecards while an employee is clocked in. 2) If an employee cashes out PTO, there are no notes to address date and hours cashed out. 3) When an employee puts a PTO day in, the whole leadership team gets a notification instead of just that manager 4) On Call buttons don't work. I'm still waiting on resolution after addressing it our first payroll run. 5) If a manager wants to put a sick day in for an employee, they have to go through multiple steps instead of clicking on the day and putting down the sick time. 6) The GPS function can be disabled by user 7) Calendar can sync with GMAIL, but EVERYTHING comes over. I just wanted approved PTO to show on calendar and instead it clustered my calendar. Each employee schedule and PTO synced. I had to delete it. 8) You have to manually update vacation accrual employee by employee. If known they lacked all these features I would have went elsewhere. Cons For being a simple way to manage your team and jobs, there’s nothing that I like least about it. It saves me hours of computer work every week! The only suggestion I have is to maybe put a little more work into the GPSFence. (It’s also possible that I haven’t fully understood it yet l.) for example, when an employee leaves the geofence for that job, I really wish it would clock them out automatically. It does send a reminder on their phone to clock out when they leave the fence and it will also notify you that they’re out of bounds. Still an excellent and 5 star rated product! As a payroll Manager, this software has made my job a lot more accurate and faster. As for my employees, they now have the ability to enter their time from anywhere and with a lot of accuracy. Pros ClockShark was able to meet all our needs for time and attendance. Cons One feature that ClockShark could add to their software is having leave time attached to a job, instead of going to a blank bucket. Also, being able to assign a particular job for the entire week or several days at once instead of entering the same job multiple times. Reason for choosing ClockShark ADP product had a restriction on the amount of characters for the jobs and our company is very detailed in our jobs, consisting of more than 36 characters for our job costs. ADP could only accommodate no more than 24 characters. TSheets had issues with the PTO leave bank. They wouldn't associate to an employee when taken. Review Source JR John R. Pros Clockshark is great for tracking employees' time and location. It allows us to understand how much our employees will be paid bi-weekly. The app is great for our employees who are in remote locations frequently. Cons The app was very clunky at moments.
