November 27, 2018 5.0 More accurate time tracking may have saved us money, but the main benefit stems from employees getting sloppier on keeping a hand-written time card. Now I don't have to keep my own record, re-create times, check their math, question their times, or manually input time into Quickbooks. Pros Where do I start? It allows us to track our employees' time to the minute, GPS tracking to verify employee times is great, the app is easy for them to use, it integrates with Quickbooks, and the service is above par. I can shoot any question over to them via chat, and they are always prompt, friendly, and helpful in guiding me to a fix. We've used other clock-in systems in the past, but this one is the best we've used. Cons Two or three times over the year we've been using the software, the crew has had an app glitch where they haven't been able to clock out or clock back in, but that's only 3 instances out of at least 600 clock-ins. It may have been due to reception/data issues, and they could still put in 'notes' stating when they took lunch or clocked in or out. Review Source MM Matt M. Just wish that PTO was on the standard plan because that has to do with basic time tracking and not all those other features like quotes and invoices. Would recommend product to someone, but if they are looking to track PTO I will never recommend ClockShark until it is a feature useable on the Standard Plan. Pros I like that I can see where my team is and see how long they have been working for. Cons I wish I could click a button to update everyones location to see exactly where they are at that moment. I don't like that PTO is not offered on the standard plan, that is another feature I would like to use but I don't need all the other stuff that comes with the pro plan. Review Source Leah P. November 20, 2017 5.0 Easier to run payroll each week; ability to track employees each day and know exactly where they are in relation to where they are supposed to be. Pros Easy to use; links efficiently to QuickBooks; easy and fast t for employees to learn; setup was fast and completed virtually without any tutorials, just a few questions with chat. Owner of company started initial setup from home and I completed the next day. Cons Job times for pay period do not consolidate on paycheck detail making the check stubs too long; needs to have the ability to make notes during the log in period instead of when logging out or at the beginning - sometimes forget what is needed to be said; when employee does not have a log in for a day, needs to be a reminder the next day to explain why absent the previous day. We also really appreciate your suggestions. Your employees can type in their Notes field after clocking in too: they'll just want to make sure to click "Save" after they do that so that they are recorded. Regarding the reminder for explaining why a day was missed, I think that's a fabulous idea. We'll add that to our feature voting page so other users can chime in on it too. Owner Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Straightforward time clock software with easy-to-use app" April 16, 2018 4.0 Saves us money and streamlined our timesheet process, plus integrates with our accounting/payroll software for more specificity in job costing. Pros It integrates with Quickbooks! It saves us a lot of staff hours to not have to manually enter time on each employee each week. This is especially true since we have to tie nearly all staff hours directly to the customer and job they were working on, which often is multiple jobs per employee per day. The app is easy to use, so our crew leaders are able to make sure their crew clocks in and out on the job, even when they're on the go and running from one job to another. Cons It took a little while to get everything set up just right so that ClockShark would work with all of our other systems and processes, but customer service was helpful and responsive through the process. Once we got it set up right, it's been smooth sailing. Definitely saves us money overall and helps us keep job costing reports accurate since all staff hours can be tied directly to the job they were working on. Pros Clockshark's user-friendly dashboard makes it worth every penny. It is an ideal solution to track employees GPS location. Cons It can put quite a strain on the your battery due to its GPS functionality but since the primary focus is GPS tracking, I regularly charge up to stay fully optimized. General Manager, Director, Client Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Easy to use app-will also track your employees as long as they are using the app" March 30, 2018 4.0 Pros I like the tracking function, I can make sure my employees really are on the job they say they are, and show a client later that they were there if there's a question about billing. The app is easy to use, you can also set up alerts so you know if someone did not punch in or if they did not punch out. Cons Checking payroll to make sure it is accurate can be difficult because the calendar does not stroller from the top of the screen as you move through employees. If you have more than 10 or 15 employees ' we have about 100 - it can be a little tedious. Employees can also be logged in more than 24 hours if they switch from job description to job description, meaning if they work snow for 18 hours and then Office, then forget to log out they can be logged in for 42 hours total. Was able to complete test runs while on trial and had endless help from Chat, Email & Zoom to identify if service was suited to us. In the end was able to work out how to use the current features to suit our needs. Pros We primarily use ClockShark to aid our Transport Delivery Services. The features helping us advance our quality of service are Clocking in & out from a specified GeoFence. Real Time GPS Tracking during a Drivers shift. The ability to see a Breadcrumb trail during and at end of shift. Having the ability to see Drivers most recent position. Cons As we are mainly using the clocking in & out feature and the GPSTrak detection would like to be able to see multiple Drivers on Dashboard 'Who's working Now?' page with all users and live breadcrumb trails. However, it is possible to see multiple drivers on the Who's Working Now page, view "breadcrumb trails," receive clock-out location, and their most recent position. We schedule employees to work multiple job locations, we can confirm their work time / location with the GPS feature and have their timesheets online. Customer service is great, they hire great people to answer any question you may have - if they don't know they get back with you. The mobile app is easy for the employees to learn & use. August 2, 2018 4.0 Everyone can clock in/out from their own phones and since there is GPS you can see exactly where they are when they do to prevent fraud. This software makes it easier than using traditional time clocks or paper since employees are always going to different job sites with construction. Pros I like the app and how easy it is to use for all employees. They are always making updates and now you can link. ClockShark to QuickBooks. The customer support is great, it's very easy to start an online chat and get help. I think it is easy for most people to learn and the admin features are not complicated either. The price is also lower than most that I have researched! Cons The app does not run as well on older phones, it used to sometimes have issues allowing employees to clock in or out that had phones that were more than a few years old. They truly care about their customers and will take the time to help with anything. Pros After doing a lot of research, ClockShark is the most affordable option for tracking our employee's time. We used to use paper time sheets because we weren't sure what other options were out there. As a small business, this worked for awhile, but it's hard to keep track of employees being honest. While we use PayChex for payroll, ClockShark is much cheaper and not only provides accurate time clocks, but schedule, PTO, and so much more. Their customer support is amazing and they will go above and beyond for you. I've never had to wait on hold for them to assist me. I'm very happy with our purchase of ClockShark. Cons The Paychex integration could be improved as well as different price tiers. We bought the most expensive package so we could track PTO. However, as a small business, we do not need all the functions that that package offers, so some of it goes to waste. I wish there was an option that was cheaper that included all of the things we needed. Review Source Lisbeth O. That is why it is essential to talk to them about the advantages of using it. Pros The most useful thing I find is to be able to measure the time employees spend each day. This way you do not generate non-compliance in their payments and avoid a bad working environment. It also makes it possible to manage simple activities performed by employees. Cons It is a software to be able to control the times to people with high positions or in small companies, since it cannot be applied in a large group of people because of the costs. It would be good to have a subscription plan for a group of 10 or 20 people. Employees find it easy to use, admins are able to easily track clock-ins and clock-outs, and the GPS feature is great for everyone. It takes the old fashioned paper out and replaces it with a cheap software option. Would highly recommend this to any company. Cons No major drawbacks except for limited reporting and the GPS feature can be tricky if there's no cell service. Pros ClockShark was very simple to implement into our existing business, and continues to provide easy and streamlined time tracking for our mobile construction employees who may visit multiple job sites throughout the day and week. Cons It would be great if the administrator role didn't require a timesheet to be added to the user. As the business owner and administrator, I don't track my time in the same way as our employees, yet I still have a timesheet associated with my account that is displayed with all the other timesheets. October 3, 2017 5.0 The ability to easily track employee hours. They can add notes and even attachments when using the app. The software works with Quickbooks and makes it easy to export time sheets directly into Quickbooks. Pros I like the ability to designate which jobs different employees can access. The software has gotten better over time and the owner/developer is very responsive and obviously cares about the quality of their product. They continually ask what users want to see added and have instituted changes I (and many others) asked for. Employees are reminding to clock in and out when they hit designated geofences. I use this for my office staff as well as my investigators who work in the field. Cons I really don't have any issues with this software. Owner Construction Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Clockshark for small home remodeling company" February 14, 2022 5.0 Pros It is not too expensive for what we are looking for. We are a small home remodeling company and this allows us to schedule our employees and most used subcontractors easily and I can check who is clocked in and what task easily from my phone anywhere. Cons I would like to be able to also have a list of subcontractors that we can use clockshark also as a calendar and not just for an scheduling. For example, I would like to add that the tile installers, drywallers and plumber will be on a project so our project manager can see that as well as the employees scheduled on 1 screen. I don't want to create all the subs as an employee because to pay for the all the features of our 20 subcontractors would not be worth it when all I want is to see them on a calendar/schedule for that job. It's quick to clock in and out of. Cons The GPS feature I loved as I could keep track of where employees went. Sadly the feedback we got was that it drained their phones and they have all turned off the gps tracking. Pros This product has cut down on the monotonous and time consuming data input previously required to provide and approve timesheets for payroll. The integration with QuickBooks was efficient and convenient. Cons There are some minor issues with overlapping geofencing and continual notifications, but these can easily be adjusted through our settings. It would be nice for GPS tracking to be available even after an employee edits their timesheet.
