Owner Construction Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Ease of use at an easy price" June 4, 2020 4.0 Pros I was trying to keep track of time for everyone with paper time sheets or emails--which, often fell to a low priority and daily tasks and actual time weren't be accounted for. In looking at various time tracking apps, I actually stumbled across ClockShark. Right from the beginning, it was intuitive and user friendly, and it was easy to add jobs and tasks on the fly from my phone, which then populated those tasks as something to choose on ANY job, which is super useful as a renovation contractor. Being a small company, I wear many hats in the office and on job sites--I do it all and do not have ANY office staff other than myself. Having a program that was so quick and easy to implement, as well as easy to manage daily as needed without spending a lot of time on the task, has made my life exceedingly less difficult. Cons I probably don't use the software to the fullest extent, so I am sure there is something that may come up later--but right now, adding users is a bit more of a pain than I would like.. but even then, that's pretty easy. Pros We love that clockshark is user friendly. It was very easy for our team to make the transition from paper timesheets to clockshark timesheets while using the mobile app. It has been such a useful app and the integration to QB was very easy. We enjoy this feature, b/c we don't have to manually enter any of the time anymore, we just select the "import data" button at the end of each week and the hours instantly go into QB for us. Scheduling our employees and having each job in clockshark is amazing as well. They are able to click on the job, see the address and map it from the app. Cons I would like more customizable "Estimate" templates. OFFICE MANAGER Construction Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great Customer Service" February 23, 2021 4.0 We started looking into a digital clock-in/clock-out service last year, because I was hand-inputting job information and time on the various jobs. It was taking all my time, leaving me behind in all my other work. This software did the trick, for the most part. Now I just need to make little adjustments, and I have saved myself literally dozens of hours each week!!! Pros This software is good, very easy to use/learn, although it has some quirks. The best part of this software is the customer service. The customer service team is always at the ready, and when I have a question, I can go to the little icon and either open up a search, a chat, or an email, and they are quick and very responsive. They also welcome and encourage feedback, which is well-received and taken to heart. They are continuing to improve and refine their software, which is much appreciated. Cons Just quirky little things...like ways to sort jobs, ways to make things quicker to find, possibly need more options for pulling reports, but it actually does everything I need it to for the moment! " November 13, 2017 5.0 Know where my sales people are all the time. Know what they are doing How many hours are spending with customers How many hours traveling and How many hours in the office. I also know if they visit the customers they planned to visit. Pros Knowing where my employees are all the time, and what they are doing is awesome. I am able to monitor their efficiency and customer coverage. Cons Tasks are difined by a name. I would like to have a code and a description, instead of a name. I would like to use the software with my technicians but we have many tasks and using name is more complicated. If I use a code as a name then I do not have a description. Office Manager Construction Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Sure beats paper timecards" November 1, 2016 5.0 We are a small construction company, and have been using ClockShark for a little over a year and a half now. It has been great, from the GPS location, to the job and task costing that we are able to do thanks to the reports we can generate from the system. This is a very powerful timekeeping tool, and it has paid for itself many times over every month by removing the time rounding that goes on with paper timecards. Our crews are much more mindful of their lunch breaks as well. Highly recommend this product. Cliff and the support staff have been a pleasure to work with as well. Pros Ease of use. Positioning that can be seen on the dashboard. Cons A few report formats I would like to see changed in how they calculate, but that can be easily adapted by running reports in a different manner. We are currently working out the kinks so as to have a smoother go of things. I believe it will work, we just need to adjust a few "nuts & bolts" first. Pros We use the daily clock in/out for our field employees and so far (after we were able to get the app working on tablets) it is working to provide what we need. And I use a few of the reports to assist with monitoring labor costs on a job. Cons Would like the daily view of timesheets to have the same day showing so we can that our guys have clocked in on the right job site if they did not clock out (prior to getting notifications the next day). Would like the GPS Fence to notify us when someone clocks in/out outside the job site zone. And could use a differently formatted report or two. I could wait days for an answer and most couldn't answer. I found Clockshark and their customer service is so good. Before I set it up they asked me lots of questions to get the best fit for my company and walked me through the set up. If I have any questions they are quick, to respond. Great service Pros Being in the Construction Industry we have quarterly reports that we send to our Workman's Comp insurance. Clockshark has easy navigation and reports to help me get the reports done quickly and accurately. Cons The only thing that happened was I needed a set up feature I did not know about and it caused me a little stress trying to figure it out. Luckily there was someone that helped me fix it. July 26, 2023 5.0 Pros We chose ClockShark because of the ease of employees being able to access time clock from their own device, and also because the app monitors whether punches were missed and where punches occurred. This has made following up on discrepancies a timely and accurate process. Also, payroll no longer gets delayed due to failure to email time sheets to administrative staff. Cons Employees initially report that sometimes app did not acknowledge punches, but we suspect this has more to do with those employees not allowing access to location and data on their devices. Pros What's been most helpful with ClockShark is the ease of use and the reports. In addition, the amount of time I spent on payroll has decreased more than 10-fold. Cons There are a few options I'd like to have in the app which at this point aren't included. Have not have many syncing problems like I have experienced with other timeclock applications Pros Really easy to implement, view timesheets and customize. Cons The biggest pain for me is that we have to use Tasks. I had to delete copious amounts of tasks in ClockShark so we can use just one task. Make the task tracking optional! We are looking forward to utilizing the many features this software offers. We have only been using it for a couple months now and do like what it can do for us. Pros The scheduling, timekeeping and reports are so easy to set up and work with. You don't have to worry when you make a mistake it can easily be reversed without losing any data. The employees have it all installed on their cell phones so it makes clocking in & out a breeze. Cons That you can't go into a timesheet(the calendar) and type in a comment. Example: job was cancelled or employee was sick and 0 hours are allocated. It would be nice to have that option for future reference when looking back and seeing a employee doesn't get paid for the day as to why that is. We are still learning as were moving forward but i feel Clock Shark will greatly improve office time to manage payroll and for billing customers . Pros I love the fact paper time sheets are of the thing of the past . No more stressing out over how much time my guys are on location verses traveling . The best part is the ease of viewing time sheets . literally set a date , review ,and print within seconds . This made billing customers a breeze . Payroll take off's take a fraction of the time now . Cons The mobile notifications could be improved on both platforms . The geofencing works but could use a little tweaking. We are a growing company which needs many metrics to formulate ROI/time worked/time spent on certain projects per client and that can get difficult to keep track of due to lack of integration/options. Pros We do like the ease of use. Pretty simple to set up if you already have a system in place. Cons The export of hours, etc is not great and does not include some information we need to send to our payroll company. There is still many things we have to sort out manually. They are fast at helping you out with set-up, integration and customer service in general. Pros Easy to use for all employees and records staff time as billable to the clients set up as billable that pushes into our accounting software. Cons Some of the set up I wish was done more on one import vs the basic import and then back into the integrations to then add in billable/unbillable, the billable rates. Associating employees and tasks to jobs I wish could be done on a larger scale vs one by one as well. Once my employees have received their intro email most of them are able to figure everything out on their own from there. Cons Only issue I have is pulling the hour report for payroll. This could be 100% on my end. For us it seems to be easier to just look at the timesheets page. Either way it is a very minor issue and looking at the timesheets page is still very simple.
