"Hey Siri, sign Barney out", it is all about using our time in valuable things like cuddling our children at school isn't it? Pros For years I have been dreaming of having the help of technology in my classroom, with daily tasks that on a day to day occupy our time and attention. With Famly, it is very easy to sign-in and sign-out the children in our care. To keep in touch with parents, to provide information with regards their absence to school and to even provide training for the team through the 'Learning' section. Cons That it logs me out quite quick from the app during pick up time which forces me to put my nip every 2 minutes or less. After using another well known learning portal, Famly is so much more equipped to dealing with early years. We use it for absolutely everything imaginable and are discovering new features daily. Pros Famly does it all and is so easy to navigate. Families are very keen to use to communicate with us. Cons Imputing data can sometimes be challenging from a management perspective, but once the data is in it is worth all of the hard work. It was quick to learn and has very useful areas to connect with parents and staff in rooms. I have found that when I need information, the question area is quick and very responsive and my question is answered appropriately. Pros Easy to use, lots of great features. As a manager its easy to monitor staff, children, room activity, deal with enquiries, contact parents, add sleep times and checks, meal times etc. Lots of help available by Famly Cons I think the EYFS journey platform could be a bit clearer. Cons The calculations of fees doesnt quite opperate how we calculate our fees so done use that part of the platform. Staff should also be able to take holidays in hours. I would also like to see and AI driven staff rota that picks up trends. The amount of time my team spend on rotas and changes to rotas, would like to see how this could be improved upon. Would also like to see another survey that truely reflects our relationships with local authority simliar to the survey you did last year. Surveys conducted by Scottish Gov have fudged results for sure. I have had support and training on the app and i am confident that I can receive support very quickly from the Famly helpdesk. We have had a few issues where information hasn't successfully saved to the app, but apart from this and the cons listed above the app is working well. Pros Overall, I am happy with the app. My favorite part of the app is the News feed. We have positive feedback from the parents about the app and that they find it easy to use. Cons I do feel that adding holidays and holiday discounts could be improved because this part of the app is very time consuming for me. I also think that the app could improve on their data protection. Children's full names are being shared on the news feed when parents are liking and commenting on posts. Children's full names, DOB, and sex are also being shown on the signing in and out sheets. We have had to create our own because we are unable to have this amount of information visible for parents. Very good now that the medication form is up and running. The new home screen is a very good update and makes it very easy to see at a glance how many staff and children are in, any medications and so on. Cons It would be a good idea for parents to be able to create a medication form, at least for non-prescribed medication Reason for choosing Famly The features are better and there were more features. I love how easy it is to use and that I can see special moments in my child's life in a closed environment. Pros I like how easy it is for my child's nursery to update parents and other family members (eg grandparents) about their milestones and achievements. Cons Sometimes there are too many notifications, it would be great if the nursery could label certain notifications as "important" so I could choose to only receive notifications about them rather than everything. June 1, 2017 5.0 easy to use and rate the company.So far I have not found using Famly frustrating in anyway nor do I dislike any part of it. The Famly team are developing and updating the system regularly, not that this is a hindrance as the system does not shut down for updates, but they are adding further improvements. You can see that they are responding to how Famly is used with these updates to make it better. The Famly support team are in touch to ensure everything is going well, they also get in touch directly with the staff team asking questions which it seems is also informs how Famly is improved further. Pros Famly is so easy to set up and use, very intuitive and so quick to work on. With the added bonus of the app I can now get access to all the information I need whenever and wherever I am. The settings allow for the staff to have the relevant access for their job role, this is great as there are so many functions other than invoicing which Famly can be used for, it really is a one stop shop for everything you need. The staff team love it and even those who would usually shy away from technology are happily getting involved. The parents are communicating much more often as it is so easy to send messages/photos back and forth. The parents are also finding the invoicing/payments overview very useful so they can manage their account easily, this contains all the information they need and again is simple to read so no explanation from me is necessary, this again saves so much time as previously I had to send regular breakdowns to parents. The support team at Famly are quick to respond and help resolve any issues. They are always on hand to ask questions and provide great training and support with the set up. But other than the odd glitch there have not been many questions or need for the training support as Famly really is very easy to use and work on. I am in no way an IT expert but Famly is so intuitive that you can easily and quickly do what you need whenever and wherever you need to, with so much time saved I am now able to focus on the jobs I never would of got to previously. We have had the opportunity to work in close communications with Famly to adapt, give feedback, be apart of interviews and comment on our emergent curriculum for articles. Pros We use Famly on a daily basis across three nursery sites, where all employees comment on how easy the system is to use. We want to ensure we are providing a 5\* service to all parents within our settings. Famly aids this in the options it gives us to communicate with our parents and for them to be able to communicate with us, whether that be through sending photographs through the observation tab, or communicating through the messages tab. Families are able to gain an insight into their child's day through the different options it provides. Cons The only thing we would change about the software is having 2 year check reports show up on the progress report tab. We have been able to communicate immediately when needed with all of our families throughout lockdown (and before). We can update everyone with things that are happening in the nursery, or in specific rooms or privately with individual parents. Communication between the staff and managers has been great, uploading documents to read, adding events to a shared calendar. We can accurately set attendance plans for children so we can see months in advance about occupancy and because it changes in real time, we can see if we have spare places to sell day to day. We also use the Invoicing package, and although there were a few issues to start with, it is now running very smoothly and has saved so much time.
