I am so looking forward their new image and amplified mission they mention. Please, it would be magical if siri could work with the app so that we could just sing children out through our voice... "Hey Siri, sign Barney out", it is all about using our time in valuable things like cuddling our children at school isn't it?

Pros

For years I have been dreaming of having the help of technology in my classroom, with daily tasks that on a day to day occupy our time and attention. With , it is very easy to sign-in and sign-out the children in our care. To keep in touch with parents, to provide information with regards their absence to school and to even provide training for the team through the 'Learning' section.

Cons

That it logs me out quite quick from the app during pick up time which forces me to put my nip every 2 minutes or less.

Very positive experience. After using another well known learning portal, is so much more equipped to dealing with early years. We use it for absolutely everything imaginable and are discovering new features daily.

Pros

does it all and is so easy to navigate. Families are very keen to use to communicate with us.

Cons

Imputing data can sometimes be challenging from a management perspective, but once the data is in it is worth all of the hard work.

We’ve been using for about two months now anytime I’ve had an issue it’s been corrected quickly. Most of the issues I have had have been errors on my part which just not fully understanding yet. I like that when I have a question I can just pop it in the chat and someone’s gonna get back to me super quickly. Overall, it’s been a seamless transition from our old childcare management system to Famly

Pros

I absolutely love the ! Famly is very user friendly and makes imputing information easy! I like that parents can message me directly. All of the teachers Really enjoyed the newsfeed feature because they’re able to see when parents see something. So they know that what they’re doing is actually being seen.

Cons

The only thing that is kind of frustrating about the app is that within the app itself, I cannot preview invoices. And there’s also no option for me to select all staff or select all children when sending out an email. These are just little things that would make it easier, but are not taking away from the actual experience of the product.

I have only been using since December 2024. It was quick to learn and has very useful areas to connect with parents and staff in rooms. I have found that when I need information, the question area is quick and very responsive and my question is answered appropriately.

Easy to use, lots of great features. As a manager its easy to monitor staff, children, room activity, deal with enquiries, contact parents, add sleep times and checks, meal times etc. Lots of help available by

I think the EYFS journey platform could be a bit clearer. A tick list would be useful to monitor a childs progress and make sure we are completing all the areas properly

I have only been using the system within work for the last 2 months but already know it inside out, it is easy to manage & hold child & staff information. provides an all round service from being able to share information easily with staff & parents to being able to keep an eye on finances & debt, it definitely provides all the services we need as a nursery.

It is simple to use & help is at hand within a timely manner

is great and a very helpful team behind the software! If they can't help you they will try everything to find an answer or solve the issue. We would like to see our points for improvement (please see these in the cons section) still being put forward and changes made where you can.

Pros

is very user friendly Services users have nothing but positive things to say about this software. Communication has massively improved between all who use this service. Great to have everything under one umbrella, not more than one app. Overview of staffing, children and profiles. If we have something we want added to the app, this is taken on board. We are all very happy with it.

Cons

There is no 'out of office' for staff (messaging) Documents section only accessible to staff. We would require a separate documents section for parents to see documents we upload and choose to share, for example Policies and Procedures. If a child hasn't started but register and you make a mistake on the room moves this can be hard to amend without seeking help. Can this be made the same as children who are registered? Can bookings lines automatically match room moves (keep room moves manual) without manually putting them in every time, this would help keep a track of children being in the right charge band? Logs you out too quickly, we know this is a safety feature but can this be changed to suit the setting, no devices out with building for confidential issues. Can you automatically select child who are signed in on a particular day to select all for posts about news or activities, instead of selecting each individual child. Could we get a colour code/ letter in icon to differentiate between breakfast, AM/PM snack, lunch and tea? Medication app like the meals so when we can notify parents when a child has had medication. Can we have Child Development Milestones on the Child Development app as well as the curriculums. Manager signature section in accidents/ incident forms (like witness/ other staff). A function to draft accident/incident so this does not disappear if a manager cannot sign/send immediately. Messages mark all as read/unread. Bump posts to top of news feed.

We had a good induction to it over the phone and given a thorough induction shown on the computer. Good quick friendly staff willing to help us. We were shown lots of aspects to it that involved many staff which helped us see an overview and what was helpful to certain staff members.

I love using . It has made the managing of the preschool so much easier and having all information under one app is great.

Pros

Ease of use. It is a very user friendly site and very easy to use. I use it daily to log in children, keep track of bookings and add adhoc sessions or extras as needed. Communication with parents is now easy and traceable. They are always improving the software and features

Cons

We do not use it fully - do not use journey tracking and profile. Our manager prefers hand written so i cannot comment on this.Not able to duplicate information - if siblings attend it would be handy to duplicate all info from another child.

Really positive. Easy to use, invoicing no longer the slog that it was. Staff like the learning journeys. Increased parental engagement. More or less everything in one place for me in my role, for parents and for staff.

Pros

We bought the full package at the time. We use the majority of the features and will hopefully eventually use them all. Because we were already an established business, it has taken a bit longer to move some things over. I feel this is due to my time management. I find the software very easy to use it has saved myself and my team lots of time, anything I need support with there is either a video or information or I just ping a message over. Engagement with parents is at around 95% which is approximately 50% higher than the previous platform I used, everything is in one place for them and they love the updates throughout the day. It has led to a reduction in phone calls to the nursery to ask how their little ones are doing.

Cons

One for me is that we also use a programme called CPOMS this is a platform for safeguarding and SEND. It would be great if it talked to (no idea how this works but know it does with SIMS) I would then have the attendance data etc at hand more easily. I would love an out of office kind of button so parents know when I am not available to answer their messages. This would be useful for staff too.

Reason for choosing Famly

Apart from the price was way out in front in terms of what it offered. I think for my size of nurseries this just fitted us nicely.

This reduces paperwork a great deal and gives parents a live feed of their children’s day

Pros

This app is perfect for monitoring the progress of preschoolers and attendance of nursery. It allows for staff to communicate with the parents but also for the parents to notify staff of anything relevant. For example, pictures or notes of what the child got up to at the weekend to allow for conversation starting points and also for parents to provide feedback on daily activities.

Cons

It would be useful for parents to have more permissions with regard to adding additional users to their profile. For example, if an aunt or grandad was to be collecting the child from the setting that day.

Cons

In the balance page, it took my about a year to realise I could have a more detailed breakdown of the figures by rotating my phone. Maybe a line to explain that some features work better in landscape or a larger device at some point

Completely and utterly worthwhile! OK so tech-phobes need to learn the package but the parents find it very easy to engage with it so it's a great communication tool. Also works hard to have the most up-to-date knowledge of the (early years) sector so you know every feature it is offers is useful. The more you look into what it offers the more interesting and worthwhile it gets. It streamlined our invoicing system and then our observations and now more.

Pros

This is has streamlined our invoicings.We are communicating more and better with parents (not just messages, but notifications on children, observations, nappy changes, registration etc)We can track our revenue better (trend analysis etc)Lots of industry advice available

Cons

I think I would like the invoice to be clearer for the parent but I need to discuss this more with the team.

has been really good, if in need of help the chat has been very helpful and quick to respond.

Pros

\- as nursery business very good overview bit of social media use and very handy to communicate with parents.

Cons

not so much variety for parents to see.

Reason for choosing Famly

It was already in use by the previous owners of the nursery.

### "Best thing we have done"

has been one of the best things we have purchased for the nursery. We have been able to communicate immediately when needed with all of our families throughout lockdown (and before). We can update everyone with things that are happening in the nursery, or in specific rooms or privately with individual parents. Communication between the staff and managers has been great, uploading documents to read, adding events to a shared calendar. We can accurately set attendance plans for children so we can see months in advance about occupancy and because it changes in real time, we can see if we have spare places to sell day to day. We also use the Invoicing package, and although there were a few issues to start with, it is now running very smoothly and has saved so much time.

Cons

I honestly can not think of anything I like least - the team are always trying to update and respond to the users requests.

Reason for choosing Famly

They were the best positioned to deal with our needs. They had most functionality. Price was competitive.
