I have only been using the system within work for the last 2 months but already know it inside out, it is easy to manage & hold child & staff information. Famly provides an all round service from being able to share information easily with staff & parents to being able to keep an eye on finances & debt, it definitely provides all the services we need as a nursery.

Pros

It is simple to use & help is at hand within a timely manner

Cons

How regularly it tries to log you out, we did also experience issues with setting up a staff member & the log in email kept bouncing so he couldn't receive the email to set himself up, once I asked for help from a member of the team online though it got sorted straight away but I do wonder if that may become an issue again in the future.

Cons

It would be helpful if in the team permissions, you could grant access to your individual nursery without changing it for the entire nursery group.

Looking at room percentages and overall occupancy and income Our overall experience is great, even those with little knowledge of computers can use it.

Pros

The ease of use and communication tool for all staff and parents.Used daily from everything to electronic registers across all rooms, showing parents when children are asleep or having a nappy change to producing clear invoices and newsletters.

Nothing much as we have grown with the company, adding new features to enable our business to run smoothly.

Very good, quick customer response. Never had a concern with data protection and I will recommend to other settings.

Pros

Famly is great for instant communication with families, it’s user friendly and clearly presented.

Cons

The cost, it didn’t have a message service for parents and carers. It wasn’t as nicely set out

Famly has massively reduced our admin time with invoicing, payroll, child observations, reduced the amount of paper we use. It has also helped us improve our nursery-parent communication & has also improved our professional image.

Pros

Everything in one place, from in the rooms through to management requirements, such as invoicing, staff hours, staff holiday. Easy to use platform & an easy to use app for parents/carers.

Cons

Integration with Quickbooks would be good for us. Notifications of pending observations requiring approval would also be helpful.

### "Incredible preschool management software"

We used to use ProCare but found it to be incredibly clunky. We the switched to Sandbox software for a year but found they were not innovating very fast. We finally found FAMLY and haven't looked back since.

Pros

The daily attendance, the class planning (so easy for admissions season), the newsfeed (Facebook style area where we post photos, updates, videos, etc.), the calendar/RSVP...so much to love!

Cons

The way the billing is handled in FAMLY is confusing to our parents. Our families register for a certain schedule (e.g. M/W/F) for the entire semester or year and then pay either monthly or by semester. The invoices are not straight-forward. And if we add a random adhoc charge (e.g. for a shirt, for a drop in day, for after care, etc.) we have to generate an entirely new invoice instead of just adding the charge and letting the families see updated balance. Our parents also get confused in the messaging area...it's still not clear that they are messaging the TEACHERS only vs the entire class...so some parents don't send the message because they're worried it will go to all the parents instead of just the teachers. A simple fix, but it hasn't been done. Wish USA had option to have parents pay invoices by credit card, along with option to "pass on" the 3% credit card fees to the parents. With there was Attendance-Based Billing (e.g. if a child stays past 1pm charge them a flat fee, if a child is picked up late at the end of the day charge them a per minute late fee, etc.)

Pros

Famly is so easy to use There are far too many good things about famly to write about them all but it just makes life so much easier.We could not have survived the pandemic with famly.

Cons

There are a few things that would improve the software. A documents app which is shared with the parents would be amazing

This has been invaluable in the early set up and ongoing daily role within our nursery. Not only do families love it, its easy for staff to use and the 'back end', is a wonderful management tool. Time saving, efficient and incredibly supportive with new ideas and training always at hand. Along with a wealth of researchers and theorists sharing their knowledge through the platform....worth every penny!

Ease of use, family and staff friendly, informative.

Cons

Nothing, I am incredibly satisfied with this product...nothing to worry about at all!

Being a parent this is a great solution to see how your child is doing at nursery.The pros for me are the ease of communication with not only the different nursery departments but the option to send a message to a particular member of staff.

Cons

I can't really think if any cons with the software, my wife and I have been using the software over 3 years and it's been spot on all the time.

Cons

Fee funding can be tricky for our setting. Connection with WCBS as our main payment system is tricky.

Famly has been one of the best things we have purchased for the nursery. We have been able to communicate immediately when needed with all of our families throughout lockdown (and before). We can update everyone with things that are happening in the nursery, or in specific rooms or privately with individual parents. Communication between the staff and managers has been great, uploading documents to read, adding events to a shared calendar. We can accurately set attendance plans for children so we can see months in advance about occupancy and because it changes in real time, we can see if we have spare places to sell day to day. We also use the Invoicing package, and although there were a few issues to start with, it is now running very smoothly and has saved so much time.

Cons

I honestly can not think of anything I like least - the Famly team are always trying to update and respond to the users requests.

Overall we have had a great experience the past year, we hope for a long and positive relationship.

Pros

The fresh layout and ease of use. Having everything in one place and the fact it is live and updated for everyone. The support is great, being able to use an online chat service to get any answers you need. Suggestions can be made and some are taken on board and implemented really quickly.

Cons

There are a few things we would like to change about the software that aren' t so easy for example the lists you can get are limited, the viewing is sometimes a bit awkward (not filling the page etc), it doesn't print very well. We'd also love to make it so if someone is trying tpo sign in and enter a pick up time later than their planned bookings, it throws up an error message.

Es ist super Intuitiv gemacht und spart wirklich Arbeit, macht jede Kita transparenter und moderner.

Es bündelt viele Sachen mit einmal: Anwesenheitshefte, Unfallberichte, Windelprotokolle, Terminabsprachen, Dienstplanübermittlung, Allgemeine Belegungsübersicht, Elternabsprachen, Ferienabfragen und vieles mehr. Es bringt Eltern und Gruppen mehr in den Austausch durch die "Neuigkeiten"

Cons

Es ist eine Cloudlösung, daher braucht es eine Gute WLAN Verbindung, permanent und überall.Es gibt keinen Offline-Betrieb.

We did have a lot of technical issues in the beginning but once they were resolved we have been super happy with the product and from the management side of things it has always been so easy for the staff to use and for us all to make the change over.

Pros

Famly has really thought of everything for everyone! Not only is it amazing for the parents to see their children's day and journey with ease but it is also so useful from a business perspective. The invoicing tool and debt management was a game changer for me and I would be lost without it.

Cons

I think there should be more features available in the essentials package. It is hard times for everyone financially at the moment and the premium package is extremely expensive.

Pros

Overall it is a good childcare management software

Cons

We would like to have a section for school calendar that parents could refer to. A Task Reminder feature within the software will be very useful. It helps in keeping tabs on children who enroll but dont start school till sometime in the future. An example can be - reminder would help us in sending a Welcome Package closer to when the child starts school. The most problematic issue is the long delay (sometimes 10-12 days) between tuition being taken from parents' account and actually credited to school account

Cons

Being able to customise certain accepts of Famly to suit your own business model for example, an external accident form which parents tell you about and injury which has occurred outside of the setting is registered as an incident form, which is not the terminology we use as a company.

Very positive and am not a fan of paperwork so this helps me navigate. This is especially true as I not nursery background so I've grown with the product which has also led me to be able to understand aspects of early years curriculum better

That the observations don't link to curriculum anymore now I've updated the app (SCOTLAND)

As a manager of a group of nurseries I am able to work from home and keep a clear view of the business and the daily operations via Famly. It has been a crucial tool during the pandemic.

Pros

Famly allows us to interact with our parents and share information with them about their children's time at nursery. This is especially important in the present pandemic as parents are not allowed in to the buildings. The newsfeed feature is great.

Cons

The messaging could be improved so that when you click to send a new message your previous conversation appears before you send the new message. With 1000s of messages , it can take a long time to find previous conversations and the search option tens to bring up team messages rather than private ones.
