My expience have been fantastic. So much more user friendly than my old software.

Pros

The best is the customer support. When I need it, but it is incrediblly user friendly.

Cons

The only thing I'd like more of is built in reports for accounting. I'm not a fan of quickbooks for an accounting system.

I would describe it as just Ok. I found it a little hard to navigate and do everything I needed to to complete all of my business tasks. I would like it to be more intuitive or give direction that is easy to follow.

Pros

It was presented nicely and had a clean easy layout at first glance. Looks professional and nice variety of categories.

Cons

Confusing to use. Seemed a little disjointed in that you still needed other software to create a complete package of design software to run your business and still do the accounting portions. Organization of project was also not intuitive enough for my liking. Not the kind of program you can just jump into and figure out.

This is mostly a good fit for our business and our clients like that they can access all of their documents in one place. I think the task management program potion that was recently implemented has a bit of a ways to go, but will be beneficial one day. The transition from 1.0 to 2.0 wasn't smooth and took us a TON of time to fix the glitches. The customer service team would often make us feel like we were the only ones having these issues, but in talking to other colleagues, the frustrations were pretty much the same across the board. One thing to consider when looking into Mydoma is that you cannot (currently) export your information should you decide to leave the program. This was something we didn't take into consideration when beginning with them and was the main reason we didn't leave when the transition from 1.0 to 2.0 got really dicey. That said, things have calmed down a bit and a good bit of the glitches have been improved.

Pros

I like that it integrates with Quickbooks. It is a good program for interior designers and understands our business. We just started using the 3D software within the program and it's been super helpful to not have to pay for another program to do this. The customer service is very responsive and open to improvement suggestions.

Cons

We liked the 1.0 version but since moving to 2.0, we've had issues/glitches almost weekly. The team is quick to respond and generally can fix the issue, but we've spent a LOT of our time having to request fixes. Sometimes multiple times.

### "An incredibly functional, ever evolving client-facing project management system"

Fantastic customer service, an ever growing list of features to make designers' jobs easier, and a really intuitive client-facing system makes MyDoma a no-brainer for our firm.

Pros

MyDoma has provided our firm with a seamless way to communicate and share project information with clients through their system. Their amazing customer service listens closely to user requests, feedback, and suggestions and the company is constantly working to improve the software and available features for their end users (the designers) as well as our clients.

Cons

There are often some clunky/buggy things coming up, but they seem to get addressed quickly -- this is obviously a risk anytime you're working on consistently improving software, and we've been impressed at how quickly bugs are responded to and fixed. There are some features that just aren't robust enough for our firm, and some features that we wish were available but all in all, no software can ever do everything and we're quite happy with the newest iteration of MyDoma.

### "An all around life saver for my business! "

I LOVE IT! I wouldn't ever move away from Mydoma as it stands. The company are great and the software is exactly what I need for my business.

Pros

I love that everything for each project can be found in one place. Easily accessed, even with so many facets to each project from start to finish. We can get someone on board right from the initial chat, and with Mydoma, we can manage their project efficiently and beautifully right up until installation and even aftercare. On top of this already great service, the level of care from the customer service is next to no other company I have worked with before - they are really friendly, helpful, on hand and make you feel like you are part of the Mydoma family.

Cons

I think the only thing I am struggling with, with the new system is going through how they use the system. There are so many different elements and I could literally make a book or a day of videos on how they use it. For some of my smaller package clients or older clients I have found I am just not giving them access as I don't know where to begin in explaining it to them.

### "Works for the basic day-to-day, but still lots of work to be done."

Pros

\- I like the new Proposals function- Timekeeping is fairly straightforward

Cons

\- The new NEXT update way overcomplicated things unnecessarily. Now you have to click 3 buttons for something when you should only click one. The links between items aren't intuitive. The furniture/product section is a mess, and the "views" are a long-winded and irritating way to figure out what's visible to the client and what's not. It was working perfectly fine before (in fact, I think the project product pages worked way better before), I have no idea why the entire system needed to be changed.- The back-end accounting functionality is terrible. Because of how the invoices are backdated when they're exported to Quickbooks, it makes it TONS of work for my accountant to reconcile. Older months will be fully reconciled and then I'll export an invoice when it's paid and it will mess everything up. It's horribly planned and should be looked at by a professional accountant.- There is also basically no accounting built into MyDoma. Before I purchased QBO this was one of the things I disliked the most. No ability to break out reports of furniture vs labour, or project profitability.- You can't edit a contract from the Contracts Template page- You should be able to set the sales tax to automatically add to everything, without having to do it manually- You should be able to set an hourly rate PER PROJECT- You should be able to use an email address in a client more than once, ie if your client is sometimes a contractor and sometimes a client

We are sorry to hear this and would like to ease your concerns. We've simplified views and made them even easier to create, edit, and know exactly what the clients see. When developing our program we reviewed the way invoices and orders are handled by accountants and integrated it with accounting software. Profitability on a project can be easily viewed in a projects Products & Services list, both overall and by product category using a pricing sheet view. The template in your studio settings is a place for you to see all your templates and delete any that are no longer needed. All templates are editable in the location where applied. You may have as many hourly rates as you like in your services catalog. Simply use the appropriate one for the project. Additionally, the Continue Task feature in the timer will start a new timer that pulls in all relevant billing information. Lastly, tax rates can be entered under Accounting in your Studio Settings. ### "I love Mydoma Studio! "

Overall I really like the simplicity & ease of use; the learning curve doesn’t take that long; love, love, love the live & online support & speed in answering questions; the video tutorials; and how the share information on the business side of design through video interviews & workshops. You actually feel as if you are part of a design team of like minded people with similar goals & objectives.

Pros

I love much this software “gets” and supports what professional interior designers need in their project workflow. Mydoma studio gives us an easy way to document everything needed in each client’s project file which includes individual Client project files, notes & checklists, proposals, vendor & client lists, docs & files just to name a few. Also being able to access files from any computer & having the ability to share files & information with clients & contractors is awesome. The software & system is close to perfect and I have tried many others that fall short. The team at Mydoma is open to hearing how they can improve the software & actually implement changes based on designer’s recommendations.

Cons

Calendar only uploads the link on my Mac; takes a long time to upload photos due to the ability to load only a very limited # of photos at a time;

The other program did not work for me at all. Yes you were able to input information but you were not really able to work with that information beyond putting it in the system. Mydoma on the other hand is a working solution. I can use it every day. It doesn’t just document what I’ve done or what I need to do I can actually use it as a working tool within my business.

Excellent!

Pros

That everything now is in one place, completely organized, no more wasting time finding e-mails or preparing invoices. Mydoma streamlined my process and made everything look more professional. Their customer service team is superb with all that the word means.

Cons

It is only at the beginning that you get used to everything, that takes some time to get used to the interface, the logic, and the sequence of how to do everything inside your project but the help team is available all the time and always prompt to solve any problem

The customer service and team is great. However, the software lacks too much for our business and I unfortunately regret signing up for an entire year subscription. I would suggest trying the one month trial.

Pros

I think the task management part of the software as well as the customer service is wonderful!

Cons

Coming from being an Ivy Software user, when doing the demo, I felt that MyDoma would be a great software to switch too as we were looking for more task management along with being more streamlined for putting together a project/presentation. However, after doing our first project and presentation in the system we quickly realized it is not as user friendly, especially from the client's experience.

Easy to use presentation and rendering tools, and takes the place of a couple of other apps (Asana, Powerpoint, etc).

Pros

I love the rendering program (Visualizer) as well as the integrated mood boards and other presentation tools. I really like the demo webinars that help you learn the features. ( I sat in on one today with \[sensitive content hidden\] where she reviewed the presentation tools)

Cons

It's not super intuitive to use, but that might just be me!

I like that they have tried to think of everything with this software. I love that my scheduler connects. And that I can keep track of everything on one place.

Cons

It’s a little clunky. Somethings are not as intuitive as they may think. I’d like to be able to customize the emails to clients within mydoma with my branding.

Mydoma Studio's customer care is second to none, and I'm thoroughly impressed with them and their variety of learning resources for users/ designers.I have tried a few similar programs and have enjoyed using Mydoma the most- incorporating visualisation into my service offering, particularly video walk-throughs, has elevated my business.

Pros

I've only really used the visualiser.I really enjoy the variety of the model library, as well as the post-render editing functions available.My favourite part is the video walk-through function- clients love it!While dabbling with the rest of Mydoma Studio, I like how easy it is to add products into a product library.

Cons

I'm still trying to learn the rest of Mydoma Studio, as above- as much as I like the task manager idea, it would be much more helpful (for me) to have a calendar view, and ultimately to integrate this calendar with my regular email calendar function.

Pros

The owner and team, are extremely knowledgable and supportive. I like the "Packages" system, however I hate that word "Packages" to describe my services. I like the ability to provide professional specification sheets.

Cons

Product Clipper is still extremely time consuming to use. ALOT of information needs to be manually added even after product is clipped. Mood boards are very basic. A lot of my issues are due to the fact that I don't sit down and use it! I find the software is not intuitive for me and I spend a lot of my time trying to figure out the process.

I switched to Mydoma because I was an Edesign member and love using their software. When they merged I gave Mydoma a shot and although there's a learning curve it does help with client projects. Customer service is awesome and I just know they'll make updates to the system that will make it even more project friendly.

Pros

Pros of Mydoma is being able to have everything in one place for a client project. I like that they offer an app version and that I can upload all the projects designs, information and renders right into the project rather than emailing.

Cons

There can definitely be an improvement in the moodboard capacity. It is incredibly limited in everything. I'd love to be able to create mood and concept boards like I can in Canva. It would also help to be able to see when clients login, sign in and can track their activity so I'm not constantly having to ask if they signed in to look at certain things. I'd also love to be able to create proposals and document workflows (like lead gathering, subscriptions on my website) and contracts right in Mydoma like I can do in dubsado. Really looking for the software that is the one stop shop.

I would like if the moodboard was upgraded and for there to be an Excel spreadsheet clients can use to keep track of their spending.

It is OK. There is probably a better solution out there for me but I am so busy working on my business and I do like the product catalog (and clipper!) feature so I keep it for that reason.

Pros

I like the product catalog feature and that is what I use the most.

Cons

When they rolled out MyDoma next it became more difficult to fileshare and I am still not sure I know how to do it effectively. My clients are confused by it, even the name is confusing.

Somewhat frustrating and time consuming looking for videos on how to do everything. Not as intuitive as I would have hoped.

Pros

The product clipper is a great feature overall.

Cons

I don't like not being able to clip out the white space. I find the client interaction portion confusing for clients and myself. Hard and confusing to navigate within projects and template set ups.

Overall it's a great system to organize projects.

Pros

It's easy to use and professional look of budget sheet.

Cons

Financial statement is too basic so it's harder to track how much remaining payment required from clients. There is no function to track that much of detailed of money transaction.

everything is in one place - we are still implementing parts of the software

Pros

Once used to it, its easy to use - it guides a natural work flow

Cons

it does not automatically add sales tax to items when loading them onto the catalogue

Reason for choosing Mydoma Studio

Mydoma allowed for South African currency and tax rates

I love it for my business. It keeps everything organized for my projects.

Pros

How easy it is to use. The support and the MyDoma community has been fabulous. They really care about the the people using it. My clients love it. They also find it easy to use.

Cons

Don't have anything negative to say. I don't use the reporting, invoicing, ordering features so not too sure about those.

Reason for choosing Mydoma Studio

Because it was Canadian.

Organization of my jobs, communication and time save.

Pros

Very easy to use, and I love being out of the studio but still be able to pull up a client's project on my phone. Sometimes you need to share a product with someone, or show photos of the existing space to a vendor.

Cons

I wish that I could generate a shopping list for an entire project, that has multiple projects within it.

I am still new to this software so am not able to write a review. Because of family issues I have been unable to work the business, however hope to pick it up in this year.

Pros

I love the ability to render and create floorplans

Cons

Lack of Training. I have now registered for a beginners training session and am excited about it. Mydoma has a lot of training, however it is mostly for ones who already know the software.

Reason for choosing Mydoma Studio

I purchased Mydoma for the design/drafting capabilities.
