With SPS Commerce Fulfillment, we are able to react quickly to our retailer needs. The product is consistent and reliable.

Pros

The ability to simply and effectively manage administration of orders with retailers is paramount. SPS offers multiple ways to accomplish this, whether integrated or not, via its Fulfillment platform. Additionally, the data insights from Analytics provide suppliers with valued data in a comprehensive and thorough way.

Cons

In my experience, integration can be a bit difficult to manage with limited resources. The teams at SPS are highly capable and provide valuable insights and tips for moving through an integration seamlessly, however, without enough resources on our side it was a little bumpy trying to manage all of the necessary elements.

Reason for choosing SPS Commerce

The value was realized not just in the costs but also in the dedicated customer service that SPS Commerce provides to its customers. I've worked with SPS Commerce at three different businesses and through projects ranging from small (new connections via Fulfillment) to large (3PL integration with UPS SCS). Each interaction and individual that I've worked with has been focused on providing the simplest solution in a professional and thoughtful manner. The individuals at SPS go above and beyond to create partnerships, rather than transactional business relationships. SPS has helped me in more ways than I can count, from streamlining touchpoints, to improving inventory turns, to creating trusting relationships with our retailers. SPS Commerce's product and people make them an industry leader.

It has been a good experience, but as previously stated so issues continue to fester because of a lack of responses from management.

Pros

The security of the data sent and received through SPS Commerce. The flow of data to and from SPS Commerce appears to use a secure network and the data is received in a timely manner when transmitted.

Cons

In some cases, it has taken too much time to get in contact with management to get priority issues resolved.

The account team I work with is very nice and I appreciate their partnership. However, it seems as if something is not revenue generating for SPS, the requests are not prioritized. The lack of communication between DMEDI and SPS is very frustrating even though it is the same company.

Pros

The SPS commerce platform is easy to navigate and utilize for business users. Fulfillment monitor is where I spend most of my time and it is easily searchable. Having SPS onboard our vendors frees up a lot of time and resources on our side. Our account team at SPS is very friendly.

Cons

There seems to be a huge knowledge gap between teammates from SPS Commerce and DMEDI. We utilize both programs and it's nearly impossible to get someone from DMEDI to assist when we have an issue. I can't utilize the support chat for DMEDI issues because they don't even have logins to the program.

My overall experience with SPS Commerce has been good. It helps streamline order processing and data management, making daily operations more organized. What I liked most about SPS Commerce is how it makes handling orders and data much easier in daily work. The integration with different systems and marketplaces works smoothly, which saves a lot of time. It feels reliable and secure, and the customer support is helpful when needed. Overall, it really helps in keeping business operations organized.

Cons

I felt that onboarding and setup can be quite slow, especially when working with new partners. Some processes are a bit complex and not very user-friendly, which makes data and order management harder than expected. At times, the system feels rigid with limited customization options. Also, customer support and issue resolution can take longer, which can affect overall efficiency.

I've been using SPS for years (even at the previous place of employment) and it has always had an easy workflow with them.

Pros

They have a quick response to my queries and follow up. the portal is easy to navigate through and there is always help available either by phone, live chat or email.

Cons

We are billed for a new customer set up before there are any transactions taking place. I would prefer they hold off the monthly charge until the first initial transactions are made.

Cons

The set-up and working out the kinks can be a long process. Sometimes it's hard to get a hold of someone at SPS to help us.

Overall, our experience has been extremely positive. The onboarding process has been well managed. Our integrated live trading partners are working really well and we have been able to reallocate man hours from data entry activities to more value add activities

Pros

We have recently gone live with SPS as our EDI provider. The implementation was very structured and thorough. The onboarding of customers was quick and managed by SPS. The integration into our ERP went very smoothly.

Cons

There are different groups responsible for different aspects of the platform and sometimes there was confusion which group we should be working with.

Enjoyed very much working with the great teams at SPS Commerce and Indigo Books while testing and learning the new system.

Pros

Setting up with Indigo's new SPS Commerce System took a while but the support was fast and excellent and the system seems very effective for its purpose.

Cons

The system and its forms take an investment of time to learn. Some data needs to be entered multiple times but there are ways to work this out.

We are very pleased with the overall experience SPS Commerce Fulfillment provides.

Pros

The modules are neatly labeled and streamlined for efficient order processing. (Receive,Ship and Process Orders effortlessly!) Easy to train new users with the simple. straightforwardness of the software. The ability to consolidate our customers onto one EDI system has been a huge help in streamlining our internal processes, as well as reducing processing times and order accuracy.

Cons

Implementing customers that utilize a third party software has proven some features not usable / compatible. (ie. order revisions, customized fields, etc.) It's a work in progress, but we are happy to see more of our customers moving to EDI software like SPS Commerce.

Reason for choosing SPS Commerce

We mainly chose SPS out of necessity, to satisfy a customer's requirement. We are happy that with the evolution of electronic software, that we have been able to replace new customer requirements with the compatibility of SPS commerce in place of their preferred provider.

### "Vantage Point is the best EDI software I've used"

Vantage Point is very user-friendly software, and has been extremely reliable. Data Masons support team has been outstanding to work with - on the rare occasion we have a question or problem, they're very responsive and we get a resolution very quickly.

Pros

Vantage Point makes it easy for my business users to see and manage their EDI data, so that I only have to get involved if there's a problem. I love that Data Masons has maps already written for our customer's specs, so that development / implementation time is reduced.

Cons

It took a little time to get used to having separate instances for each country, but that has worked out well to be able to isolate our EDI partners, and the business users only see the customers they support so that reduces confusion.

Reason for choosing SPS Commerce

Data Masons provided the maps to use with Vantage Point, with BizTalk we would have had to build our own maps and that just wasn't practical.

Fantastic! Since leaving TrueCommerce EDI and doing all EDI transacting with SPS we have seen a huge decrease in chargebacks related to compliance, and it has more than justified the increased cost of doing business with SPS.

Pros

The ease of use and accessibility. The platform is incredibly user friendly and easy to learn, even if you are a novice with EDI. The support and quick responses and help on issues are a HUGE help as well. Being a small team, I am the only person who handles EDI, so having an expert (\[sensitive content hidden\] :)) I can reach out to directly and be able to assist with issues is truly wonderful. And all the folks we have worked with at SPS are so friendly, helpful, and transparent. They have helped us work through numerous issues and have provided incentive every time we grow our business with them. Thank you!

Cons

This is very specific, but with errors received on transactions, making the data easier to understand so I can try to fix myself without involving the support team, would be great. I only see code and data and that means nothing to me not having the knowledge of an EDI expert. I think it would be a great idea for SPS to have a line at the top when you click into the error that is an "error notice" and briefly explains the issue so that a non-EDI expert can understand. Also, making the entry of cross-references a bit easier as it is very clunky and constantly kicks you out of what has been entered. For example, if I click into an item to edit and then save, the page defaults back to all customers and items instead of the choices I selected to filter it out.

### "Great for integrated CMS systems"

My experience hasn't been easy. There was no first hand training. We had to rely on webinars and video training to gather the knowledge we needed to understand how to navigate SPS Commerce and the fulfillment process. However, if we had an in-person training and if our in-house software was more up-to-date so that integration and automation was an option, I believe my experience would be more pleasant.

Pros

The ability to communicate between retailers and suppliers in a very real time exchange. The ability to merge a large quantity of orders directly into our CMS software for quick and easy fulfillment. The search ability to easily find any PO and the ease with being able to separate retailers by name. Love the work flow chart associated to each order- easy to see notes and activity in regard to any given order.

Cons

The complicated and lengthy process of sending and receiving PO Acknowledgements and Changes. All recent activity is noted on the over and transaction tabs, making it confusing to scroll through. I like the idea of only showing 1 PO number and having check marks within the box that show the activity that has been completed for that particular PO. This software does not work well with our very unique "small company" CMS/ ERP software. We have to manually print out each PO, manually respond with a PO Acknowledgement after manually checking our inventory, and then have to manually enter the drop ship addresses and order into our software for fulfillment. We then also have to manually respond with ASNs and import invoicing. We do have the ability to merge large quantity orders, with a specially crafted application so long as it only has a few consistent addresses the account/retailer ships to. Automated merging is not possible for many and varying drop ship addresses, those we must manually print, review, and enter through the entire fulfillment process.

### "They said it would be 6-8 weeks. It's been 9 months. And we're not done"

The worst part of this experience is that you only get results when you kick and scream. Despite the fact that they have in no way delivered on time, they have charged us a ton month by month. I'm running the company, but until I get on the phone and say, hey, what's happening here, things don't really move. And then, inevitably, they stall. I don't want to be the one having to micromanage this process, but they've left me little choice.

Pros

When it finally gets set up, it hope it will save us time.

Cons

I wish I didn't have to write this review. I have had so many calls with these folks promising that things would be different, that I feel like the partner that keeps accepting back their cheating spouse, so that I feel foolish for believing them. They said 6-8 weeks for set-up. We are on 9 months, and still not done. Every time there's an issue, they point fingers at other people, like the retailers or the connection folks. But they are the ones taking the money, so they are responsible for the product as a whole.

Reason for choosing SPS Commerce

Some of our retailers used them, and when we first spoke, when I explained our issues, they said they could help with the PDFs we need for some retailers (packing slips and shipping labels). Our last call, they claimed to have no knowledge of this, which shows that the sales team has not sufficient contact with the implementation team.

### "Sub-par integrations, unresponsive customer service, heinous billing practices"

The billing practices at SPS are heinous. They are disingenuous and try to upsell like crazy! The customer service is lacking. The integrations to warehouse WMS and Quickbooks Online are slow and clunky... sometimes it takes several hours for docs to integrate. It's not a great product, but then you're stuck with their software because of the huge upfront costs to integrate.

Pros

Receives purchase order docs (unless it bugs out) from our trading partners and allows us to send acknowledgements, ASNs, invoices, and other docs to our trading partners under an EDI environment.

Cons

No competent SPS representative supporting integration to warehouse. SPS salespeople oversell the features and capabilities with insufficient knowledge of how product works. Customer service is almost non-existent; tickets are generated but no response is given.

### "Horrible Experience"

Pros

We used SPS commerec for a large client and things were fine. We tried setting them up for EDI for anoteh rlarge client and it was anightmare. We asked for pricing and only after we waited 6 weeks to get pricing and sent an email letting them know we would move on due to lack of communication did we suddenly get an email checking in. Rep had no idea what we needed although we discussed extensively when we met that we needed pricing to move forward and would wait to hear back. We signed up and got charged a LOT more money than other EDI companies. We thought we would only pay SPS but then later found out through our warehouse there would be other fees if we needed to set it up through them. Started paying monthly fees even though the warehouse never sent it up and we had to cancel. Every time we try emailing them about thsi it takes an average of 9 days to get a response.

Cons

The high Cost and Customer "service" were dissapointing.

### "SPS Commerce Fulfillment "

MAPADOC push from SPS eliminates the need for us to input the orders manually.

Pros

The push of information through MAPADOC to our organization's software works well. When there are issues, help from Customer Service has been readily available.

Cons

One of the biggest issues that seems to plague SPS Commerce Fulfillment is the push of information back across MAPADOC. We do changes in our organization's software as well as having to do them in SPS. This increases the chances of errors. For example, when an invoice is created the information is not propagated from SPS nor our system through MAPADOC so the data has to be entered all over again. The invoice document is created off an existing order so the invoice should have all data entered from that order with the option to make changes if necessary. This would allow us to verify all items prior to sending the invoice. The Quick Entry is wonderful for a single entry order but not practical for extensive orders. Another issue that we seem to have is when there is error in processing a document. The document is tagged as having errors but there is no further information as to what exactly is the issue. The error is not highlighted on the document. If the error was highlighted it would save time in the correction of the error.

We approached Data Masons out of frustration with our former EDI vendor. Their solution is logical and very automated so that our business users are much more efficient. We have found Data Masons is also ethical and fair, standing behind their solution, which makes them a partner rather than a vendor – something we value and look for at our organization.

Pros

Adapts to our business – not the other way around. Onboarding new Trading Partners (TPs) is easy and timely. Maintenance of system is extremely low…once a TP is setup it just works. Integrates nicely, smoothly with our ERP (Dynamics GP). Vantage Point 4 has a new navigation and reporting pane, like any change it took some time to get use to but I am able to track done the information I need when doing any research or troubleshooting, big improvement over our former solution that was embedded and had poor support.

Cons

After using the solution for some time, ee feel we know enough about the system to speak to level 2 support techs when we call out of the gate, but we follow protocol. Once we reach the right person, we’ve always had a good outcome.

### "SPS Commerce gets the job done, but seems expensive for what it is"

SPS Commerce allowed us to connect to dropship and bulk-shipment retailers via EDI. We were able to fulfill orders manually via this software, and then eventually set up the software to communicate automatically with our warehouse.

Pros

If you need to connect to a sales channel via EDI, SPS Commerce is going to be one of the most reliable options to do so. SPS is a large organization, and they seem to have experience connecting with any retailer we would want to do business with. This makes the integration process a lot easier. SPS also has a very responsive technical support team. Any time an issue comes up, we send them an email, and almost always get a response within one business day. The technical team seems to be very knowledgeable.

Cons

The main con is the price. SPS charges a flat per-document fee. When you are receiving large dollar-value orders, this small fee per document doesn't amount to much. However, if you are doing high volume, low dollar-value dropship orders, the fixed fee per document takes out a large percentage of your profit. Depending on the type of business you do, you need to clearly negotiate with SPS to get the pricing that works best for you. Other than that, the experience with SPS Commerce has been good.

### "Robust service but hard to work with and very costly"

Overall, I'm not impressed with SPS. Basic functions like automated inventory feeds were created to be sources of revenue for the company. Customer support rarely met expectations - when they give a deadline, expect it to be accomplished a week or two later (sometimes worse).

Pros

What I liked most about this software is that every online e-tailer seems to have some sort of integration with SPS.

Cons

What I liked least about this software is the poor timeliness of customer service and ridiculous cost.
