With SPS Commerce Fulfillment, we are able to react quickly to our retailer needs. The product is consistent and reliable.

Pros

The ability to simply and effectively manage administration of orders with retailers is paramount. SPS offers multiple ways to accomplish this, whether integrated or not, via its Fulfillment platform. Additionally, the data insights from Analytics provide suppliers with valued data in a comprehensive and thorough way.

Cons

In my experience, integration can be a bit difficult to manage with limited resources. The teams at SPS are highly capable and provide valuable insights and tips for moving through an integration seamlessly, however, without enough resources on our side it was a little bumpy trying to manage all of the necessary elements.

Reason for choosing SPS Commerce

The value was realized not just in the costs but also in the dedicated customer service that SPS Commerce provides to its customers. I've worked with SPS Commerce at three different businesses and through projects ranging from small (new connections via Fulfillment) to large (3PL integration with UPS SCS). Each interaction and individual that I've worked with has been focused on providing the simplest solution in a professional and thoughtful manner. The individuals at SPS go above and beyond to create partnerships, rather than transactional business relationships. SPS has helped me in more ways than I can count, from streamlining touchpoints, to improving inventory turns, to creating trusting relationships with our retailers. SPS Commerce's product and people make them an industry leader.

Pricing, but on the other hand you get what you pay for in the long run.

My overall experience with SPS Commerce has been good. It helps streamline order processing and data management, making daily operations more organized. What I liked most about SPS Commerce is how it makes handling orders and data much easier in daily work. The integration with different systems and marketplaces works smoothly, which saves a lot of time. It feels reliable and secure, and the customer support is helpful when needed. Overall, it really helps in keeping business operations organized.

Cons

I felt that onboarding and setup can be quite slow, especially when working with new partners. Some processes are a bit complex and not very user-friendly, which makes data and order management harder than expected. At times, the system feels rigid with limited customization options. Also, customer support and issue resolution can take longer, which can affect overall efficiency.

07/02/2024, \[sensitive content hidden\] reached out to me and suggested that I synchronize SPS with Quickbooks so that I can save time to submit invoices to Key Foods. 08/21/2024, We signed the project agreement on 08/29/2024, \[sensitive content hidden\] started to discuss with me about how to synchronize SPS with QBs. Unfortunately, as of today 10/15/2024, \[sensitive content hidden\] has not finished the project yet. We still manually submit the Key Food invoices via SPS. There are two things I need your help with: 1. I have requested to remove Associated Supermarket Group (one of the trading partners) from the invoices. ASG did not want to use the SPS system. \[sensitive content hidden\] told me that he could not remove it since it was part of the "deal". If the trading partner does not want to use SPS, I can't force him to buy your services. SYS should remove the charge from day one. 2. The Automation project has not successfully launched, SPS has charged me since I signed the agreement. If the automation takes 10 years to launch, should I pay for this service that I have never used for 10 years?

Pros

Salesmen knows how to fool around with customers and let them purchase more useless services.

Cons

They force you pay for the trading partners that no business with SPS

Very easy portal to use and allows the end user to learn a lot about EDI and X12 communication. Customer support is friendly and effective, allows us to process many orders over the course of a week without individual manual effort. This makes speed and efficiency improvements to our internal processes.

Cons

Can be difficult to onboard new customers if the X12 format and required documents is a different transaction set than we are used to.

Abysmal. Whenever we have to test a relationship that requires SPS we know it will take minimum 2 months to on board due to how slow SPS is with everything.

Pros

If you want a complete hands off and do not onboard new relationships then sure, they will be fine.

Cons

Their support is slow, their error handling is misleading, they have monopolized certain companies so you HAVE to test with SPS though you use other EDI providers. It is just a bad model for a customer and for anyone with some knowledge and understanding of EDI will find it frustrating beyond beleif .

SPS Commerce is a great platform if your business is built around retail, supply chains, and EDI. The automation, integrations, and reliability are impressive once its all set up. But it takes time, technical knowledge, and a budget that increases over time.

Pros

What I liked most was how everything lives in one place. Managing orders, invoices, and documents without jumping between systems made our workflows way more efficient and reduced a lot of manual work.

Cons

What I liked least was that it's not an intuitive platform, and the learning curve could be a bit painful, especially if you don't have a technical background. It’s also relatively expensive.

Overall, SPS Commerce is a great solution that excels in automation, integration, and operational efficiency.

Pros

Managing orders, invoices, and documents in one place makes workflows much more efficient and reduces manual work significantly. The automation and integrations with other systems are a big advantage, especially when handling high volumes or working with multiple partners.

Cons

That said, what I don’t like is that it can be complex and not very intuitive at the beginning. There’s definitely a learning curve, and troubleshooting errors isn’t always straightforward without technical knowledge. The price is probably the biggest downside, specially for small businesses.

Platform is really easy to onboard. Our Account Manager is ready to work with. They have been great to work with.

Support quality has decreased over the last couple of years. I don't know if that's a result of our migration to a new ERP or not.

Fantastic! Since leaving TrueCommerce EDI and doing all EDI transacting with SPS we have seen a huge decrease in chargebacks related to compliance, and it has more than justified the increased cost of doing business with SPS.

Pros

The ease of use and accessibility. The platform is incredibly user friendly and easy to learn, even if you are a novice with EDI. The support and quick responses and help on issues are a HUGE help as well. Being a small team, I am the only person who handles EDI, so having an expert (\[sensitive content hidden\] :)) I can reach out to directly and be able to assist with issues is truly wonderful. And all the folks we have worked with at SPS are so friendly, helpful, and transparent. They have helped us work through numerous issues and have provided incentive every time we grow our business with them. Thank you!

Cons

This is very specific, but with errors received on transactions, making the data easier to understand so I can try to fix myself without involving the support team, would be great. I only see code and data and that means nothing to me not having the knowledge of an EDI expert. I think it would be a great idea for SPS to have a line at the top when you click into the error that is an "error notice" and briefly explains the issue so that a non-EDI expert can understand. Also, making the entry of cross-references a bit easier as it is very clunky and constantly kicks you out of what has been entered. For example, if I click into an item to edit and then save, the page defaults back to all customers and items instead of the choices I selected to filter it out.

### "Great for integrated CMS systems"

My experience hasn't been easy. There was no first hand training. We had to rely on webinars and video training to gather the knowledge we needed to understand how to navigate SPS Commerce and the fulfillment process. However, if we had an in-person training and if our in-house software was more up-to-date so that integration and automation was an option, I believe my experience would be more pleasant.

Pros

The ability to communicate between retailers and suppliers in a very real time exchange. The ability to merge a large quantity of orders directly into our CMS software for quick and easy fulfillment. The search ability to easily find any PO and the ease with being able to separate retailers by name. Love the work flow chart associated to each order- easy to see notes and activity in regard to any given order.

Cons

The complicated and lengthy process of sending and receiving PO Acknowledgements and Changes. All recent activity is noted on the over and transaction tabs, making it confusing to scroll through. I like the idea of only showing 1 PO number and having check marks within the box that show the activity that has been completed for that particular PO. This software does not work well with our very unique "small company" CMS/ ERP software. We have to manually print out each PO, manually respond with a PO Acknowledgement after manually checking our inventory, and then have to manually enter the drop ship addresses and order into our software for fulfillment. We then also have to manually respond with ASNs and import invoicing. We do have the ability to merge large quantity orders, with a specially crafted application so long as it only has a few consistent addresses the account/retailer ships to. Automated merging is not possible for many and varying drop ship addresses, those we must manually print, review, and enter through the entire fulfillment process.

The worst part of this experience is that you only get results when you kick and scream. Despite the fact that they have in no way delivered on time, they have charged us a ton month by month. I'm running the company, but until I get on the phone and say, hey, what's happening here, things don't really move. And then, inevitably, they stall. I don't want to be the one having to micromanage this process, but they've left me little choice.

Pros

When it finally gets set up, it hope it will save us time.

Cons

I wish I didn't have to write this review. I have had so many calls with these folks promising that things would be different, that I feel like the partner that keeps accepting back their cheating spouse, so that I feel foolish for believing them. They said 6-8 weeks for set-up. We are on 9 months, and still not done. Every time there's an issue, they point fingers at other people, like the retailers or the connection folks. But they are the ones taking the money, so they are responsible for the product as a whole.

Reason for choosing SPS Commerce

Some of our retailers used them, and when we first spoke, when I explained our issues, they said they could help with the PDFs we need for some retailers (packing slips and shipping labels). Our last call, they claimed to have no knowledge of this, which shows that the sales team has not sufficient contact with the implementation team.

### "Sub-par integrations, unresponsive customer service, heinous billing practices"

The billing practices at SPS are heinous. They are disingenuous and try to upsell like crazy! The customer service is lacking. The integrations to warehouse WMS and Quickbooks Online are slow and clunky... sometimes it takes several hours for docs to integrate. It's not a great product, but then you're stuck with their software because of the huge upfront costs to integrate.

Pros

Receives purchase order docs (unless it bugs out) from our trading partners and allows us to send acknowledgements, ASNs, invoices, and other docs to our trading partners under an EDI environment.

Cons

No competent SPS representative supporting integration to warehouse. SPS salespeople oversell the features and capabilities with insufficient knowledge of how product works. Customer service is almost non-existent; tickets are generated but no response is given.

Pros

We used SPS commerec for a large client and things were fine. We tried setting them up for EDI for anoteh rlarge client and it was anightmare. We asked for pricing and only after we waited 6 weeks to get pricing and sent an email letting them know we would move on due to lack of communication did we suddenly get an email checking in. Rep had no idea what we needed although we discussed extensively when we met that we needed pricing to move forward and would wait to hear back. We signed up and got charged a LOT more money than other EDI companies. We thought we would only pay SPS but then later found out through our warehouse there would be other fees if we needed to set it up through them. Started paying monthly fees even though the warehouse never sent it up and we had to cancel. Every time we try emailing them about thsi it takes an average of 9 days to get a response.

Cons

The high Cost and Customer "service" were dissapointing.

We have used SPS Commerce for 5 years and are very satisfied. Our business is not large enough to require an in-house person to manage EDI technical set-ups. SPS Commerce meets our needs perfectly.

Pros

SPS Commerce comes highly rated and they meet the rating. It is fairly easy to learn and the Support Team is excellent. They always document questions with Case #'s and always follow-up to close out cases with satisfaction.

Cons

Some of the fields seem over-kill, but we stick to the "Required Field" on documents and all processes smoothly.

Pros

Software is easy to use. Customer service for software support is slow but helpful, once you get ahold of them.

Cons

You must make a change to contracts within 3 months prior to renewal. I've done that over the last 3 years and they are still charging me for services I've never used. Contract management team will not respond. There are much cheaper options out there as well as companies that actually care about their customers. Explore them!

Pretty much the worst company I've ever worked with. They tell you what ever you want to hear but they don't follow through on anything. You ask to talk to supervisors and never hear from them. You just kep paying and paying with no ROI

Pros

As sold it was a no brainer, they already had the connectors for all these companies, there would be almost no setup time.

Cons

Totally mislead at every step. 6 months into this project we are still not setup, the communications is almost zero, they have no idea what they are doing and n top of it, you pay for all the EDI documents you signed up for each month even if there is no use or even not even setup.

We chose SPS because of their claim to have all this pre-built with the vendors. This is not true.

It is just one necessary aspect of the shipping portion of my job. I have never used anyone else so I have nothing to compare it to.

Pros

It is used by or 2 largest customers. We can move the information from your website to populate our Access program. Customer support is very quick and efficient.

Cons

It would be a lot better if more of the information was automatically populated.(We have to type in our information for Northern Tool every time) We cannot use the short form because of the different carriers assigned, compared to who actually picks up in Canada. We are a small office to doing all of the extra forms becomes cumbersome. Northern Tool takes a long time to get their info to SPS - I think they only update a couple times a day. Therefore, I end up manually typing in orders anyway, to get them into production by end of day.

As I described above, we were required to come up with a solution which started as an EDI interface to receive and acknowledge POs, but turned into requirements for ASNs, Invoicing, etc. SPS has been easy for all of our users and has met the needs of our customers with these requirements.

Pros

A number of years ago, one of our distribution networks started to demand we use an EDI platform for the receipt of purchase orders. Our ERP does not support this feature, so we had to look outside for solutions. We evaluated SPS Commerce and found this service to be the broadest, most user-friendly and economical solution in the marketplace. Some of our other distribution networks have since come on board and created new demands for different functions which SPS offers. Access by all of our departments (sales, customer service, bookkeeping, shipping, etc.) allows us to seamlessly meet our customers' needs.

Cons

When rejecting a purchase order, an anticipated ship date still has to be entered in order to process the rejection even though the order is rejected. This often confuses customers because you are both rejecting the order and entering a ship date. If the drop down option is to reject the order, then one shouldn't be forced to also enter a date.

I was the person who worked with the SPS team on set-up. As inexperienced as I am with this type of system I had many questions and a few times we had to set up conference calls to get everything as we needed it. The SPS team never acted as if I was a burden and patiently answered all my questions. This to me is worth more than I can say. After set-up and moving forward any questions I had and issues I faced there was always an SPS team member that would be there to walk me through a procedure or answer my questions.

Pros

The software is very easy to use. I can navigate through different forms with ease. I can also check for errors before finalizing a form. This allows me to catch any mistakes before finalizing the form.

Cons

There is not much I don't like about the system and nothing at this time I would recommend changing or adding.

Reason for choosing SPS Commerce

I chose SPS because of my past experience and I knew that I would receive great customer service. I felt that SPS was the best option for our company because the program is easy to use and the support that you receive is top notch.

I have had a very good experience with all members of the SPS Commerce team from initial implementation to Customer Support once implemented.

Pros

The SPS software is very easy to use once trained. Depending on the business partner you are setting up with, implementation may take a bit of time but once in use, SPS Customer Service has always been really great with helping to answer any questions you may have.

Cons

Sometimes when doing searches for purchase order, the search and advanced search functionality can be tricky and it becomes difficult to locate a particular order.

our use of SPS commerce was drivenn by customer requirements so we, as a company, were not actively looking for this type of product. We use it to do business with various vendors.

### "Poor Implementation Team on new Trading Partner "

The implementation team we were assigned provided terrible service. Would only answer about 1/4 of the questions asked. Tooks weeks to reply at times, and had to go through sales to even get half a reply most of the time. Even our initial threat of moving to another provider only provided enough fuel for a day or two of action. They charged for a new trading partner. took months to get implemented because they would not communicate. Never did get it working. Charged us the WHOLE time for a service we couldn't use and then would not refund us for that service.

Pros

It was EDI software, that was inexpensive during the time we signed up about a decade ago.

Cons

The lack of users without paying for more. Any company employing more than 5 people would need more than 1 user. Implementation team was awful and didn't answer when requested followups on the new trading partner. And we found another provider who not only is keeping us informed all along the way with the trading partners, but is also actually less expensive.

Reason for choosing SPS Commerce

Back in the day, it was the least expensive we could find.
