When I first started supporting this software, the support from Deltek was less than amazing. Over the last year, I have seen a vast improvement in the quality of the support personnel and the response time. Thank you for making my job easier! Cons Installing updates can be difficult at times. I would like to find an easier way to install updates. February 15, 2018 3.0 Pros It's feature rich and did just about everything I needed it to do. Also, the modular nature of the software means that additional functionality can be added as needed. November 14, 2016 4.0 I have been using Deltek products for over 20 years and have witnessed the tremendous growth the company has undergone over the years. I have used Advantage, Impromptu, T&E, and Costpoint. I have seen Costpoint grow from a 'DOS' screen to the more user friendly application that it is today. I do appreciate the ease of use and navigation that has been incorporated into the system. I would like to see more flexibility in the reporting but I understand that other tools fill that requirement. In terms of customer service, I think cases should be evaluated more in detail prior to assigning them to case workers. Often times, we've detailed an issue that we were having and have had customer support fall a little short of solving the problem before moving it to a more seasoned person to assist. By the time that has occurred, precious time has passed. Overall, Deltek products are an essential part of the government contractor community, well done Deltek! The Customer support team was an excellent source of knowledge, configuration guidance and problem troubleshooting. The higher level support staff really gets engaged and ensures delivery of a solution. Cons Complexity to configure and learn. Lack of direct integration of Time & Expense. Very expensive Deltek consulting, with a one-day (8-hour minimum charge). The latter led me to choose a partner to support our upgrade instead. Review Source LS Loxie S. This software is a great tool for accounting because the design of the system matches its reality. Costpoint helps us tremendously to control costs. Cons Reporting could be improved. there is a good basic essential reports available on the system but there must be more options and flexibility so users can extract the most of it. It allows us to enter very detailed levels of project string, ORG codes, and GL Account Codes for every transaction. Cons User Interface is terrible - still looks like a mainframe screen. Customer support while friendly is not very helpful. They always try to push a support ticket to their paid consulting services. I feel like they are always trying to get more money out of us. It is definitely easy to understand how the systems work and the flexibility to report and export financial information is even better. We are so happy we are not using Oracle anymore. March 2, 2020 1.0 Pros What do I like most? My gosh - literally NOTHING. I've used multiple other timekeeping systems and this is BY FAR the worst system I've ever seen and used! Cons Where to begin...usability (It's complete garbage with absolutely ZERO thought for the standard employee user). I've never seen such poorly designed software as this. If you get an expert programmer to set it up for you and put in ONE charge code and do the SAME thing every day, you'll be fine. But if you need to work with multiple charges, add or delete favorites, etc, DO NOT USE THIS TOOL. I've spent a couple hours now fighting the software and it's absolutely unusable - and I'm a senior level programmer...AND I CAN'T GET THINGS TO WORK. It's buggy to the nth degree and I can't stress enough how little thought clearly went into the design of the software. I'm baffled that this got to market in this state. Truly baffled.
