### "A must for coaches to stay organized"

July 24, 2022

5.0

Overall, truecoach is super responsive. They get back to me in minutes and have always been helpful! I’ll be a customer for a long time! They have come a long way from Fitbot!

Pros

Truecoach is very easy to begin working with clients or athletes. Easy to use, program, and implement. I use it daily to program and communicate. Truecoach is always updating so now I can bill, create pre-written programs and access more movement videos. They even reached out to see how they could improve more. I love that they now have a feature (coach profiles) where you can now advertise through truecoach and have a lead system in place.

Cons

Sometimes Truecoach will glitch on either my end or the client’s making it hard for me to program or clients to access programming but it’s very rare. Hoping that truecoach will make a teams section to that coaches working with athletes will have a better way with working with large amount of athletes. Also hoping they can integrate with Whoop and other software programs besides just myfitnesspal.

### "My Success is all thanks to TrueCoach "

July 24, 2022

5.0

Overall experience: Excellent!

Pros

I’ve been using TrueCoach for a LONG time (since it was originally called “fitbot” and didn’t have an app!). I love that the team is always improving the software for both clients and trainers. Because of TC, I’ve been able to grow my business into a six-figure coaching program where I can have a handful of customized clients AND pre-made programs for more passive clients/passive income. It’s user-friendly on both sides, simple, and attractive looking. I had tried other software programs before that are probably great if trainers want to add in more nutrition and other details, but for those of us just looking to create high quality fitness plans with video feedback/submissions, detailed cues, and easy tracking — this is where it’s at. My favorite features: - My clients can submit videos and I can submit videos back in response. - Written feedback is also very easy - Messaging clients is simple - I love being able to upload my own exercise library AND being able to outsource other links in case I haven’t filmed something myself - Copying & pasting has saved me soooo much time with workouts and adding subtle progressions

Cons

Least favorite parts about TC: - Managing subscriptions was complicated for me since I wasn’t able to do one-time billing as well. I bill my clients separately now. - I do wish we could have days where instead of adding a workout, we can add a write up. So no A, B, C sequencing. I just use the workout format to write in educational posts for my clients and it works fine but I’d love if there was a plain option (kind of like rest days but not rest days). - I wish I could organize my clients into “folders” rather than tagged groups. Having folders to click on would be SO helpful instead of having a long list and then always needing to click on the tag I want to focus on.

Trainerize was SO busy. I couldn’t copy & paste individual workouts so I had to rebuild them. There was no “dragging” feature either. It just seemed like there was always a lot going on and like there were too many little details that added more work for me and my clients. Simple is sustainable!

### "Amazing Platform"

July 24, 2022

5.0

For me, this program was easy to learn and I’ve only gotten better. It allows for seamless program sales and workout program delivery. This has added value to my bottom line.

Pros

It is amazing that I can use 1 day a week to sit down and update all my clients workouts for the week. This is because of the program feature. I have many different programs, all with different approaches. I assign to clients and then on Sunday, I’m able to go in and individually tailor to their current fitness and equipment access.

Cons

At the moment, I would be in favor of having more say in how the workouts are delivered. Only the top tier TrueCoach levels get access to the most mobile app functions.

### "Leaving in a week for a better platform"

July 24, 2022

2.0

Excited at first, and then just dreaded logging in after a few months. I’ve grown as a coach, and the platform has refused to grow at all. In fact, they broke the client app, and still haven’t fixed it. It just makes me sad to think about, now.

Pros

Truecoach is good for a brand new coach with less than 5 clients, that needs to get organized. After that, the platform gets overwhelmed with its own features and poor design.

Cons

The coaching interface is cumbersome. Programming and tweaking is painful and tedious. It’s like they launched the product, and then stopped improving it. There are 3 platforms that are less expensive and do the same thing, now. And, truecoach had the audacity to raise the price with no improvements, and then roll out features to cost their customers more money each month for services that are easily available for less. Truecoach is just trying to trap customers into feeling like all their stuff is on one half-baked platform.

Reason for choosing TrueCoach

At the time, truecoach was the only usable option. That’s no longer the case. Truecoach is resting on that thought, and it’s no longer true.

### "TrueCoach is the Industry Standard!"

July 24, 2022

5.0

The biggest help TrueCoach has provided is scalability. Without the platform, I probably wouldn't be able to handle more than a few clients along with my Master's studies. Now I have almost 10 and feel in complete control, even looking to bring on another coach soon.

Pros

I love the workout builder, various features of client management (weight, metrics, notes, etc.) messaging, and integration of payments. Being able to sync with MyFitnessPal is also so convenient to help clients track nutrition as well. TrueCoach is easy to use and has saved me countless hours of adminstrative work so I get to make better connections with my clients and get them results.

Cons

I would love to see the addition of habit-based nutrition coaching and other metrics for lifestyle, such as sleep and meditation. Making TrueCoach a one-stop-shop for health coaching would be the dream. There are also occasional bugs with myself and clients with the app, but they have remedied themselves over time.

Reason for choosing TrueCoach

TrueCoach was the most intuitive and allowed me a high level of immediate functionality and ease of use.

### "Movement Coach In-Person and Virtual"

October 27, 2023

5.0

My peak coaching career began right before the pandemic in 2020. Having TrueCoach was the perfect tool to keep the momentum going and my clients committed as they had the flexibility of online coaching both with video or just the training plan - as TrueCoach provides all that we need with the training plan calendar layout, note tracking, communication, and exercise library/video sharing. This provided an access approach to training that allowed our clients to stay on-track despite the uncertain times.

Pros

The exercise library - as a personal trainer a part of a team - we value collaboration. This feature allows for us coaches to be able to share new exercises that supports an area of growth that one or more of our clients face such as lower back pain, hip pain, foot pain etc.Being able to track the overall stats such as particular goals reached and when, as well as organizing key metrics allows for a great end-of-year summary that both celebrates the client's achievements, and provides ample momentum for the upcoming year's round of goal setting.

Cons

A great sign for us coaches is when our TrueCoach account tells us we don't have enough space, because we are full to the brim with clients! This is a sign that our overall methodology is a success. However, of course, when it comes to TrueCoach, the one thing I like least are the client profile capacity limitations.

### "Great Interface but..."

August 11, 2022

2.0

All of my clients are individuals. I do zero group training. At first TrueCoach was great, but the more clients I get on the platform the more issues I have. Customer Service has been great at responding but only responding. Unfortunately problem resolution has been non-existent. And now TC has just increased the monthly cost. Unless something changes I am planning to migrate my clients over to a new platform, probably TrainHeroic.

Pros

The best thing about TrueCoach is that the client-side interface is very simple and easy to use. From the coaching side it's also very simple to onboard a new client. The next best thing is its integration with MyFitnessPal.

Cons

1\. There is no simple daily body weight reading input. You have to create a "metric" for daily body weight as a workaround. 2. The coaching apps have zero functionality besides allowing you to view activity and send messages. Any program changes or assignments need to be done from a web browser. The android coach app just doesn't work. I get zero notifications. On some clients trying to view activity results in a white screen and needing to force close the app to restart. 3. Some clients' videos and pictures do not load and I cannot see or view them. Customer Support says to tell clients to do XYZ instead of resolving the problem. 4. Not easy to shift working/rest days on a client calendar. Would like to insert a rest day that simply pushes all other days to the right, or delete a day. Much like inserting and deleting cells in Excel. 5. Not easy to change a work schedule for two clients on the same program. I.e. one wants to do MWF while the other wants to do MThSa. Template is created for MWF but then the second client needs manual adjustment on their calendar.

### "TrueCoach is the best!"

July 22, 2022

5.0

Overall a great way to connect and work with way more clients than I can do on a 1-1 basis. To have the luxury of online and face to face really is great. It's also allowed my clients to get better results from the increase in training volume and staying accountable week to week in a positive way.

Pros

This software is so easy to use and all of my clients agree. It has some great features such as a large exercise library, daily notifications for workouts or missed workouts, personal portal to constantly review progress. Integrating this into my business was so easy and since the pandemic happened it's definitely transformed a section of my business for the better. I'm about to go on maternity leave and it means I can leave my clients with plenty of choice for workouts and they still feel accountable while I'm not physically on hand to keep an eye on them 24/7.

Cons

With going on maternity leave I have been able to set up the function of recorded classes as they're easy to add to the exercise library. However, I think it would be good to make the app more class friendly too in the sense that they don't have to tick off workouts and have more freedom/flexibility to choose what they want to do. I have guided my clients to not feel pressured into ticking workouts off or doing what is set for each day as I wanted to leave them with as much choice and freedom as possible while I'm on leave but I do worry that they will be effected by seeing 'missed workouts'.

### "The best option for individual fitness programming."

February 16, 2019

5.0

Our team loves TrueCoach. Other platforms I've used, especially in the functional fitness realm, can be limiting to certain types or styles of workouts. If I can dream it up, I can program it in TrueCoach. TrueCoach has greatly opened up our ability to remote coach effectively. It allows us to have a higher level of communication and connection with our off-site AND on-site clients through its multiple touchpoints from workout results, to comments, to chat features.

Pros

Go beyond simply assigning sets and reps. The more freeform style of TrueCoach allows you to program more complex pieces and add nuance while still providing great organization of training cycles, weeks and individual workouts. I would love to see where they can go with the metrics tracking but it's already come a long way in the two years I've been using the software. TC seems to really listen to the coaches using the platform and continue to upgrade and innovate to improve the efficiency and experience of programming workouts. The addition of an iPhone app also greatly improved my client's experience by making it even easier to access workouts, communicate via message, access movement demo videos and smoothly upload their videos for me to review.

Cons

Rarely, but on occasion, the screen will freeze up and/or not save the workout I'm in as intended. If the internet connection isn't stellar this seems to happen quite a bit more. Most noticeable when traveling and using other wifi sources. I've gotten home from trips and had people ask if I really wanted them to do the same workout 3 times? It hadn't shown that way on my end but clearly kept re-saving which was obvious when logging back in later.

### "TrueCoach: Truly Amazing!"

July 19, 2019

5.0

The biggest benefit I've noticed is a time saver. From dealing with spreadsheets and emails in the past, I was always sifting back and forth trying to find and track information. TrueCoach has made that a breeze, so I can focus more on client service, rather than waste time.

Pros

What I like most about this software is that it's made for coaches who not only LOVE to program exercise and training programs, but also want ease of use to quickly write programs to see progressions and client results. From the bench mark features, to 'exercise history' features, TrueCoach has it all. I'm able to track any data I want on my clients and see their history with the assessments as well. The notifications work just like Facebook, so there's no confusion on notifications you've seen or not read. The video aspect is HUGE for me and my clients because I like my clients uploading their film of exercises. Through TrueCoach, I'm able to slow the video down, do a screen capture video, and send it right back to them with critiques and praise in a matter of minutes.

Cons

What I 'don't like' about the software was the transition from 'FitBot' to 'TrueCoach'. I think 'FitBot' was a more fitting name and told people what they were getting, but they wanted to rebrand and come out with an app. The app is knew and has some bugs, so I have my clients save the website on their home screen. It acts better than the app (until improvements are made) and it's more user friendly. It's a growing pain that they'll get past, but it's a slight annoyance for now.

Switched from

[ABC Trainerize](https://www.capterra.com/p/140262/Trainerize/)

I switched from Trainerize and PT Distinction because TrueCoach is built for coaches who love to nerd out on their clients programs, actually be data driven, and have an easy interface to work with. I just didn't get the same 'ease of use' from the other programs.

### "Great software for personal trainers"

July 25, 2022

4.0

Pros

I've been using TrueCoach for 3 years and it's been a great tool for training my clients completely remotely or as an adjunct to the in-person coaching I do with my clients. The software has multiple channels for communication, which is very helpful for staying organized and developing a strong relationship with the clients I coach, especially the clients I train remotely. I like that both myself and my clients can share photos and videos easily. Overall, I would recommend this product to any coach that assigns programs or workouts to their clients.

Cons

Where TrueCoach can improve is on the app used for coaches. I would be nice to be able to program and design workouts from my phone.

### "True Coach is the truth... for functional fitness. "

October 28, 2020

5.0

I absolutely love True Coach. The platform is consistent with the direction of fitness and I believe their staff continues to keep their fingers on the pulse of the functional fitness industry.

Pros

I love the library of information that is available to me. I’m a CrossFit enthusiast, certified by NASM-CPT, PES, CES, BCS, CNC (CNC pending), NCSF-CPT, and I believe it is within my scope of practice to use mixed modal training (I do not Rx benchmark WOD’s for clients), but not call it CrossFit. A lot of the exercises available are things that I use for clients, i.e., front squats, back squats, deadlifts, and kettlebell work. I even program for myself, which is a big plus for me. I especially like that True Coach doesn’t cater specifically to the Bodybuilding community (nothing against the BBC). Bodybuilding has its place, but the average consumer can find that stuff anywhere. Today, everone does bodybuilding splits. As a professional, its not my cup of tea. I also love the fact that i can program for online, in-person, and/or both types of clients. It makes my business scalable monitarily and is a great tool.

Cons

I could use some waiver forms, or have the ability to upload my own. Maybe I haven’t looked hard enough, but that would be great. How about workout cards for the day... spoke with someone on how to blow up the workout on your screen, but something wirh an actual filing system/archive option. If i was given an opportunity to be a part of the True Coach team, I’d take it. I’d like to see calculations for measurements and more data - as it relates to the client, in order to quantify their improvements. Again, maybe I’m not looking hard enough at the platform.

### "The best Return I could Ever get "

July 25, 2022

best decision I ever made , the videos and the messaging sells the client on signing up with me. the return I get is that I don't have a mountain of paperwork and spreadsheets of clients history of workouts, also, I'm not organized and this product does that for me

Pros

the videos that I can attach to the workout so the client doesn't have to text me or so that I don't have email them a video through youtube also how easy it is for the client to download the app and see their workouts lastly, I have an entire history of their workouts without having to hunt through a file cabinet

Cons

I can't think of any at the moment that I feel are missing

### "My daily go-to!"

July 25, 2022

5.0

Overall I'm loving this. Easy to use, easy to learn, performs well, stable, and even the tech support team is awesome.

Pros

I like how intuitive this software is. I can design my own programs, add habits and nutrition into each client's plan, communicate with my clients and make changes on the fly. And payments and subscriptions are automated, so I don't need to deal with reminding and collecting!

Cons

I wish there was a mobile version where I could make changes to clients plan, not just for communication.

Reason for choosing TrueCoach

It was more cost effective, and I could customize every aspect of the programming.

### "TrueCoach is for the Clients and Coaches "

July 24, 2022

4.0

I believe TrueCoach has saved me so much time and energy this past year of using it with clients and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Pros

I like how it is easy to navigate, the ability to upload youtube videos or personal videos of myself performing new exercises that the Exercise Library does not have, and the ability to archive old workout plans that may be used for common exercise plans for others. In addition, the percentages of the compliance rate helps because it lets me know which clients that need more attention towards.

Cons

The software having to be used on Safari, how slow it can get, the glitches where I would copy a specific workout to place it onto another day and another copy of another workout would upload instead, and the random glitches it has at times in general.

### "True Coach app review "

December 26, 2023

5.0

My overall experience was good. I continue to use the app despite its flaws.

Pros

User-friendly, and very easy to understand.

Cons

The coach side of the app is not user-friendly and never works on a cell phone.

Reason for choosing TrueCoach

More personal training specific. The other apps were better for subscription purposes and remote individuals. A true coach is best for in-person trainees for organizational purposes.

### "TrueCoach for 1:1 coaching clients"

October 30, 2020

4.0

Overall it is good, very simple to manage and my clients have a great experience with it.

Pros

\-It is a simple interface -Allows me to keep in great communication with my clients -I love that my clients can upload their videos and I am easily able to give them feedback -It's great that there is an app -The programs feature is crucial for my business!

Cons

\-The biggest logistical issue I've run into is adding clients who have used TrueCoach with a different coach. It is always a process of me messaging for help, needing to add the client to the conversation, then you all manually changing the client over to my platform, with additional follow up messages to make sure everything is resolved. It would be great if this process could be automated, for example sending an email to the client saying that I've requested to work with them and have them confirm they'd like to work with me and have their account transferred over. -Other than that, just additional features! For example, I do sessions and/or calls with my clients. I would like to have a space to upload recordings of the zoom calls and call summaries. Some sort of centralized shared notes space would be great where both of us could comment and edit. This would increase the interactive nature of the platform and allow for additional communication with my clients. -Expanded video library, there are a good number of exercises I have to find videos for myself, I probably am using the provided video library 50% and my own videos 50% -A scheduling feature would be great that maybe connected to google calendar, again to keep everything on the same platform -I currently use a program called coach's eye to analyze my clients' videos and give feedback. It would be cool if there was a feature built into TrueCoach for that

Reason for choosing TrueCoach

I had used it in the past when I was working as an employee, so it made sense to continue using it when I started my own business because I knew how it worked.

### "Solid App"

July 24, 2022

5.0

I've used other apps similar to this, but true coach really just made it a lot easier and a lot more streamlined. Essentially saving me time, and time is money.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use on my end as well as on my clients end, as well as a lot of the features like tracking measurements, photos, and being able to connect to my fitness pal. It's easy to write programs, as I don't need to type the exact exercise in the search bar. It uses more keywords, which is very convenient and very nice.

Cons

Sometimes I feel like it's kind of pricey, the initial price of 50 bucks isn't too bad from 0 to 20 clients, but then I pretty much doubles once you get 21 clients. This is fine, and I understand it, it's more that I personally usually flow around 25 clients and for those additional five clients I paid more than double what I initially paid. Although, I feel like there's enough in value and it really streamlines my work that the extra costs don't matter.

### "Great when I first joined, but waiting for some needed developments"

October 31, 2020

4.0

Overall experience is very good but I find the price jump & no. of clients jump from 20 straight to 50 is very big and actually discourages me from taking on about five more group clients that would put me in the 25 range. I had never considered moving from TrueCoach before but I do find more and more of my friends moving and recommending other softwares that have more of the functionality we need as community becomes so online in the age of Corona. Whether this functionality becomes available on TC may well decide whether it remains worth it for me.

Pros

I love the ease of attaching videos to movements and receiving videos from clients. I also like being able to save workout templates to assign and edit later.

Cons

I wish there were options to be more social between clients on the platform if they wanted to because this can really help with adherence and retention, even for individual training clients. I also wish that the nutrition side offered more detail - ability to see food logs from MyFitnessPal would be huge and let me get rid of an additional software I have to pay for for this.

July 26, 2022

5.0

I've loved using TrueCoach. I explored some other softwares but this one stood out amongst the rest. It's easy to use for myself and my clients and they have great customer service. I also love the exercise library, the ability to upload videos, and the options you have when writing/designing workout programs.

Pros

The ease of use for my clients and myself. Every once in a while, someone gets confused or has a question but TrueCoach has great FAQs that help with most issues. I also love how intuitive the backend is for me. I didn't feel like I had to do much learning to get in the groove of using TrueCoach.

Cons

The payment/subscription set up is not my favorite. I bill my clients bi-weekly or every 4-weeks depending on their package and I have to manually go in and cancel and restart subscriptions each month to make this work with my billing schedule.

### "Perfect software for online trainers!"

July 25, 2022

5.0

Pros

This software is very simple to understand and use for both trainers and clients. The clients have a nice app to use for their convenience. The exercise library has a very good variety, but if you're not seeing what you're looking for, it is very easy to add new exercises to the library. True Coach makes it easy for my clients and I to communicate through the software to share progress and feedback.

Cons

My only con is that I wish it was slightly less time consuming to create specified programs to input for people.

Trainerize was not user friendly or easy to get used to in my opinion. Creating daily workouts is so much more simple with TrueCoach.

### "Daily grind made easy for Clients and Coaches."

July 25, 2022

4.0

Pros

It's so easy for clients/athletes to set themselves up. Understanding and tracking their work/progress is impressively intuitive even for the not-so tech savvy. On the programming/coaching side of things, the browser experience is incredibly smooth. Coaches find ways to make programming more efficient every day!

Cons

The mobile app is great from an athlete standpoint, needs work (start existing!) from a coach/programmer standpoint. Currently, coaches have to program on the browser version on mobile, the UI/UX isn't as seamless as the athlete/client end of things.

Excel Spreadsheets immediately make fitness feel like WORK, where it's supposed to be fun and fulfilling. SugarWOD is more suited for running full CrossFit gyms VS individual coaching.
