We have not had a very good experience with ADP. Would not recommend to those seeking a user-friendly system with good customer service.

Comments: ADP has been constantly pushing back on us saying that when the system was initially set up, it was rushed and not set up properly. So we gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked them to provide us with a list of courses to take. When we looked at the courses, it was realized by ADP and us that the page we had was different from theirs. Looks like we haven'#39;t even been getting the necessary updates for this either, not just the ATS. We are currently waiting for training material (half of which has to be paid for). I don'#39;t believe that training is going to fix all of the issues we'#39;ve had. Why else would it take months for things we request to be fixed? We have been unhappy for a while with this system. Through all of this we have been extremely patient and giving them the benefit of the doubt. We were told by an ADP representative that we were giving up. I have reason to believe that this is why our requests were stagnant for so long. Like ADP just threw their hands up in the air and said, why even help them, they'#39;re leaving anyways. We are very frustrated with this system, but even if we were entertaining the idea of switching to a different system, we still have jobs to do. So, why give up on us while the company is still paying you for your service? Totally backwards to me.

Cons: 1. Reporting is difficult to navigate and select. You can create a custom report, but don'#39;t be fooled. It'#39;s not as customizable as you need it to be. 2. You cannot find an employee by typing out their full name; it has to be either their first or last name and then the options will populate. 3. There is no onboarding functionality. We'#39;ve created so many of our own spreadsheets simply because this function does not exist. 4. You can change the status of an applicant, but you have to go into their profile in order to do so or select a checkbox that will bring up a different screen. Too many pages between what you would like to do, makes such a simple step in the hiring process very cumbersome. 5. The referral option is not customizable at all. We were excited about this functionality, but can'#39;t even use it because it cannot do what we need it to do. 6. Our ATS has not received any patched updates at all (ADP has known about this and is 'quot;fixing'quot; for the past 6 months). Our applicants can'#39;t even click the '#39;next'#39; button without a banner being in the way of it. We know that we have lost many applicants due to this. 7. I do not work in the benefits side of things, but I know that we had a big issue with many of our employees being provided with the wrong insurance due to a mishap on ADP. Took us months to correct. Many employees paychecks for almost a whole year were incorrect that we had to refund. 8. Registering to apply for a position is so difficult. You have to click on '#39;apply'#39; for the same job 3 times navigating to multiple different screens before you actually start applying. 9. There is no automatic feature to remind our managers to submit their time cards for their branches. This has to be done manually. We have to then submit the time cards individually at the end of every pay period. This takes a whole day for one person to complete, and we have about 250+ employees. 10. Customer service is atrocious. It was so bad that when we finally complained about it enough, they didn'#39;t really offer any fixes to the standing requests that we already had, but offered us a 'quot;white glove'quot; service that we would have to pay for just to get better customer service. 10'#39;s of hours are wasted monthly just to get someone that can help us. And then we have to call back again to see if we get the same answer twice, which more often than not, we receive a different answer.

Pros: What I most like about the software is that I am able to house all employee data in one place and the analytics dashboard is extremely helpful when looking at measurable data to base company performance on.

Cons: What I like least about the software is that all modules are ran on separate platforms. Specifically the ATS and Workforce Now. This makes it very confusing for candidates when having to create two separate credentials when logging in. The software is very glitchy and I find that random features will stop working for a period of time and then randomly come back. The on boarding process when creating activities is not all encompassing causing you to still use paper forms, specifically when it comes to the I-9 and State Tax Form. The ATS module needs some updates in order to be competitive with other ATS softwares. The inability to customize a lot of the fields to your organizations needs can be very frustrating and with the constant software updates the changes are hard to keep up with and you aren't given a choice whether to if you want the new software update features. Specifically speaking, in order to most efficiently hire a candidate after the interview process it would be nice to do this electronically but you need personal information that the system doesn't require. Our ATS was setup requiring that a physical address was entered upon applying then all of a sudden I noticed that candidates weren't supplying this information and to my surprise this feature was taken away causing our organization to now have to find a work around receiving an employees physical address, SS number and date of birth before entering them into the system to be able to send them on-boarding.

Overall: With the daily issues that arise with the software I can't speak to it being that big of a benefit as of yet. A lot of the issues that I bring to the teams attention I often get the response that "everything is setup correctly, I am not sure what the issue is" it is very frustrating to have spent hours upon hours setting up each individual module to your organizations needs for the features to all of a sudden stop working and none of the representatives are able to give you answers nor follow-up with you regarding a resolution to any of your issues. So at this time I would say the only real benefit I have found thus far is electronic PTO tracking.

We did not have an HRIS, so overall using ADP has been a huge improvement over spreadsheets.

Pros: 1. Flow from ADP payroll to ADP Retirement Services
2. The upgrades to WFN have been beneficial
3. I like being assigned an OE Specialist for my benefits open enrollment.
4. Employees can print their own W2 form; self service options
5. I do like the customer service specialist option if I have a difficult or complicated issue

Cons: 1. Pulling data from payroll and benefits using reports is difficult
2. The customer service reps (not the specialists) seem to have a route to handle an issue. By the time I am calling I have narrowed down some possible solutions and instead of listening to where I am in the process the CS rep seems to start at the beginning and goes through solutions I have already tried. They make suggestions or try things that I know are not going to work.
3. There are times when I don't know what I don't know and in setting up something in ADP I do not know what the ramifications are of a decision I have made. Ex: I should have signed up with ADP Retirement Services at the beginning of the year, not the 3rd quarter because when running end of year reports I was missing pertinent data because the deduction codes for the 401k plan were changed to new codes. Didn't seem like a problem at the time, but for my end of year processing it has been a nightmare.
4. I wish the portal page/log in page was more dynamic in order to create a more interesting home page
5. I do not always find answers or help on the Support Pages. Ex: how to set up my employees in a new HSA account.

Pros: The webinars and continuous learning opportunities for the user are great. Laws and compliances are changing so quickly that it is hard for someone in the trenches to keep up. They make staying current easy with their Eye on Washington and special webcasts. I like the look and ease of the program. It is easy to navigate and find what you're looking for. The new Pay Cycle is great, but it would be nice to enjoy it a while before they "upgrade" it again. I need time to learn and discover all the ways it can assist me. Customer support has been one area of frustration, but help with the ACA and Time and Attendance has been stellar.

Cons: Getting answers quickly has been a huge frustration, and not just with customer service although that has been an issue with payroll. It seems to take an unnecessary amount of time to get something new implemented. We took steps to add an HR component for tracking professional development hours for our teachers. Once we signed up, we waited weeks to hear back about implementation. Finally after emailing our rep, I was contacted about training for the addition and found out it was not what we wanted. What we wanted was free and available with the push of a button. ADP has great resources for self-learning and I take advantage of them frequently. But sometimes I have an issue with payroll and need an answer quickly. Now with the designated rep, that doesn't happen. She is rarely available, which I understand, she has many clients and speaking with someone else is perfectly acceptable, but usually I end up having to leave a message. I find myself not wanting to call and having issues unresolved. Sometimes she is not able to resolve the issue completely because it involves a different department.

Overall: It does a great job of staying current with all the compliances changes to payroll and HR. I rely on them to get the payroll reporting correct.

Pros: There is a home page that can be customized. This provides the employer a good opportunity to communicate with all employees, considering everyone must go into ADP to enter their time at least twice each month. The portal can be setup in English and Spanish. The system overall is fairly easy to work in and find information. There are a good number of standard reports. ADP offers a lot of training opportunities, support, message boards, etc. at no cost, which is a definite benefit.

Cons: The home page is a wonderful communication tool; however, customizing it in Portal is very difficult and takes more time than it should to get it to look professional. The setup is fairly restrictive, the 'Undo' button no longer exists after this last upgrade, you can't control the line spacing, for some reason the system removes some spacing between words that were copied and pasted into the Portal, and for the most part, the system seems to do what it wants. The leave-time system has become very cumbersome. Example: An employee is out sick one day in a pay period. The employee enters their work hours, along with their sick time, into the timesheet, then saves and approves their timesheet. The supervisor then goes in and must first approve the sick time, which automatically removes the employee's approval. The employee then must approve their timesheet again before the supervisor can approve the entire timesheet. Another aggravation is the ridiculous number of messages and the requirement to archive the messages. The system even requires confirmation that you want to archive and then it provides a running total of the number that has been archived, or the number of new hires entered, etc. Knowing the number of actions taken or messages archived is unnecessary.

Overall: I was using a massive system, that was very cumbersome and not flexible at all. ADP streamlined our processes for the most part and has made our jobs in HR and Payroll a little easier.

Pros: The reporting system is is easier to use than other systems I have used in the past. Also, I like how the HR functions, employee service items, the payroll system, and the timesheet system flow well together. The reporting system makes it easy to run reports over several companies, for several years, and for active and terminated employees. I've used other popular payroll processors software which limited the reports to only 1 year at a time. I like how easy it is for employees to access their paystubs, access past w-2s, and make changes to some of their information. Having the view available for pay stubs and w-2s has cut down on phone calls. The payroll system is very easy to use. Recent upgrades have placed fields in a better arrangement for viewing several fields of an employee record at the same time. I find the timesheet system mostly easy to use for our employees.

Cons: There are too many, too frequent upgrades. I've experienced reports losing formatting during the upgrade and have to repair them or reach out to ADP to repair them. Also, there have been several periods of downtime hours this year where the system has crashed and almost all of these are following an upgrade. The security portion of the system can be a bit tricky and not very user friendly, although, some improvements have been made in recent upgrades. Also, the phone app for the timesheet system is a bit lacking in functionality, although, this too has seen some recent upgrades.

Overall: The system has easy to track timesheets, both the hours and the supervisor and employee approvals. This is important as a Government Contractor. Having a system that works as smoothly as this makes growing as a company much easier and limits the amount of staff that we have to hire to process the payroll and the HR functions. Having a customer support team for payroll questions and reporting questions helps greatly. I have always found ADP's reporting support staff the most knowledgeable about their department and have always given me great help.

Pros: Workforce Now has changed from being a time and attendance and payroll system to a Human Resources tool I cannot do without.
I am a one person Human Resources Department and I need a HR system that can streamline and support the many functions I deal with on a daily basis. Workforce Now (WFN) does that and so much more. WFN comes with dozens of preloaded reports that allows me to run employee rosters, payroll reports, attendance reports, cost of labor by hours and earnings. It tracks tax information and General Leader Reports for our accounting department. Employees are able to electronically request time off and get manager approvals emailed to their cell phones or home computers. Managers and supervisors can make notes right in the employees electronic file so there is always a record of items they can use when doing annual reviews or disciplinary action meetings.
There is so many options available. Making sure employees get paid properly is critical, but this system and the ADP support team take payroll to a whole new level! ADP has been working diligently to make this system a workhorse in the HR department. The updates keep this system cutting edge, yet user friendly and easy to run. You will not have to worry about having outdated and stale software in a year. There is always something being improved. Just in case something does come up, WFN has a solid support team that you can reach out to for questions and assistance. And they are only a phone call away.

Cons: What do I like least? I only have a couple of issues, and the pro's far outweigh the concerns, but it seems like the support team is very busy on some Monday's and Tuesday's. When you try to call in for support the wait times can be a little long. I have learned to plan ahead and call early. If you want a least like about the software specifically then that is more difficult to answer. I guess I'd say the learning curve can feel a little intimidating when you first start to using WFN. Help is only a phone call away or a quick look up in the integrated help screens.

Overall: Secure, dependable and user friendly payroll processing. A time and attendance system. Reporting functions that allow us to track and report critical information that helps us run a better company. Offsite support and a system that is always rolling out updates and training. This is a great system for the medium to large business. You cannot go wrong with this program.

Comments: I use the payroll, Time & Attendance and HRB. I have been a client of ADP for 30 years+!! My Mother started with calling in the information to ADP every week! Then I came into the business and we went from manual phone calls to a computerized system. It was called PC Payroll. A great payroll package. Then approx 1 1/4 years ago, we were told that PC Payroll is being discontinued and we made the switch to WFN. We started at Version 2 and we are now, we are at Version 13 - with Version 14 soon to happen. A very happy client.

Pros: 1. I am the admin of the payroll dept. it is my responsibility and i run it weekly. Once I learn how to do the functions, it works very well. 2. Customer support is second to none! Truly excellent! 3. The program does a lot - with many features. Upgrades are starting to be more frequent - which is a good thing. 4. They have support system which is called "The Bridge". all users are connected to it. you can ask a question and it will be answered by another user or even am ADP employee. 5. Wish list: It is very powerful program. There are very many features. Many of them i know and many of them, i don't even know they are there. I wish there was a document available that goes through the whole WFN and lists and describes ALL the features available - whether they are standard or offered only as on option. Just let me know about it!!!

Cons: During the December and beginning of January, the hold time can be very long. i have been on hold for over 45 minutes. i am really hoping that it will be corrected.

Pros: As a practitioner the options within the modules has been fairly easy to setup. It has the capacity to do so much more than we are doing in our department currently, and the introduction of ADP Mobile has elevated the service to our associates.

Cons: Ease and functionality could be improved. Again minor things but do contribute to the overall experience.

Overall: I have been an ADP Practitioner since August 2012. Within each upgrade our processes seem to improve on efficiency and accuracy thanks to the updates made. We have however had some issues in terms of "user-friendly" that while are small in nature, they do create inconvenience for our associates.

1. Message Center - I believe it was V10 I really enjoyed our Message Center - having the action arrows available was quick and easy. In the next upgrade it changed to a check, an X and three little dots. While this is convenient, not everyone can see these options on their screen unless a)they zoom in, or b) they scroll down - scroll right - scroll back up. It's just a headache.
2. Time off - this is helpful but still having some issues. We round to the nearest quarter and at this time it is rounded to the nearest minute. Also within time off request, anytime the policy or reason code is changed the hours zero out. We used to be able to submit a week for vacation on one line, it would appear a 5 days x 8 hours and submit. If we wanted to each day individually we had that option as well. Now it's all individually so each line must be manually updated. Very inconvenient.
3. Reporting - The ease of reporting has improved so much I would just assign 5 stars for that! Sadly I have been calling and attempting to build a report that retains an associates work history and still to no avail.
4. Client Service - For the most part the reps I have spoken to have always been very polite. As far as knowledge of a particular module it can vary from person to person so some frustration can occur when seeking an answer for an issue. Also turnaround time on open cases can be way longer than expected, while some never even respond.

All around I truly love this product. In terms of what we need I do like Workforce Now very much. We look forward to all upgrades and improvements that they bring.

Recommendations to other buyers: Overall a happy customer with ADP.

Pros: The many features if offers. It is easy to use. The support is at your fingertips and if you cannot find the answer, you can pick up the phone and real people are there to help. This is just the beginning of the wonderful software packages amazing features.

Cons: There are so many features built into the software and it is sometimes difficult to know everything that is available. Also, when you add some new features it seems like there is a lot of add on costs. I think it would be best to be able to pick from a variety of package features up front. Maybe spending more time learning the needs of the company upfront and setting up the software to meet those needs upfront would help keep costs lower.

Overall: I have used ADP payroll in different companies throughout my Human Resources career. It has gone from a great payroll program to an amazing, easy to use payroll and people management tool that blows the competition away. I cannot imagine running our companies Human Resources Department without it. Over the last year, ADP Workforce Now has updated and improved its entire program. There is online training at your fingertips. Employees can easily manage their individual information by using the many self-service features. The mobile app is easily downloaded from an android or apple phone and allows employees to have access to their payroll information anytime and from almost anywhere. The payroll process is easy to manage and reports are easy to access or create. This allows managers and employees to have accurate information at their fingertips which in turn helps them make decisions based on real-time information. I cannot say enough good things about ADP Workforces Now! Go with the best -- you will be glad you did.

Recommendations to other buyers: ADP has done a wonderful job upgrading and managing its software. This is a great tool.

Pros: Ease of use, logical layout, robust options.

Cons: Still, some client-facing things to be smoothed out.

Overall: I've been using ADP WFN for just over a year now and I have to say, ADP has come a long way in a relatively short time. From its inception of online payroll processing under Pay eXpert, WFN is light years ahead of its predecessor. Most things are laid out in a logical fashion and are easy to use. The internal design team must have been laboring over the current incarnation and should be commended. It would be nice if there was a middle ground between Simple and Advanced Reporting and I understand there are improvements coming to the Notification Center. The SmartCompliance site is way easier than "the old days" of faxing in notices. There are still a few things that could be improved (like Annum & Reset Year value availability in Reporting for payroll-based accruals) and there are times when the client can definitely tell that the Client Support team is held to quotas and stats (or, maybe I periodically get a rep that isn't as invested in client success) but perseverance pays off & I can always get to a truly dedicated rep with comprehensive knowledge of systems & processes to help me troubleshoot issues. (ADP should really do more to keep those valued reps because they are the heart and soul of the company. Instead, I understand that there's an informal no-rehire policy in place, maybe to get a fresh perspective into the organization, but really the knowledge and wisdom from those years of service take years to develop. Bring back the former reps and ease up on the phone stat review. Do what's right and best for each caller!) The software, though, again, light years from whence it came. Loving the Employee Documents (the bulk upload process could be streamlined by naming convention protocols that automatically select EE's and apply categories.) Looking forward to seeing the new version of Predictive Analytics. One weak spot is performance review/management (surely ADP can acquire a company & incorporate a smooth process for clients.) Another weak spot is the inability to Deductions in Arrears for Managed By Benefits items. As a growing, dynamic company grown through acquisition, ADP WFN has been an invaluable partner in the process of managing our complexity for our employees.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take advantage of all training opportunities! It's all free and the Support Center can usually provide Learning Bytes (quick how-to videos) or document tutorials. Really try to push the system to its limits and maximize your investment. It can do so much more than payroll that you're really missing out if that's all you're using it for.

Pros: Most transactions are easy and intuative. The "one stop shopping" for HR/Payroll needs. Availability of online training. Updated payroll dashboard is very helpful.

Cons: Performance Management is cumbersome to set up. I find the message center clumsy.

Overall: I have been using ADP in my current role since July 2016, this is my first exposure to ADP. I am in charge of payroll and employee data within ADP. The application takes a little getting used to but I do find it fairly user friendly. I took advantage of the online courses right away and got certified in HR/Payroll/Time and Attenance early one. This really help get a better understanding of the system. One area I have struggled with is Performance Management, specifically getting reviews up and running in ADP. The process is a bit disjointed. For those of us with no "programming" background, it would be more user friendly to have this all be one process. The process of building approval paths should be part of setting up the performance management module. I also found the training on this particular topic to have the same disjointed feeling. You have to take the workflow training and the performance management training and the figure out how to merge the information to get the module up and running. This is definitely an area I see that could use some improvment. In order to really make this a comprehensive platform, it needs to be user friendly and this is the one area I have encountered that is not. I have seen ADP make several enhancements over the last 7 months, I am holding out hope that this will be coming soon. One other area of minor concern is customer support. There is inconsistency on how knowledgeable the customer service representatives are. When I call in I never know if I am going to get the person who knows exactly how to help me, or can ask the right questions to figure out the best course of action. Or, if I am going to get the representative who seems to be lacking the basic understanding of ADP and how to address customer questions. End users rely on the voice at the other end of the line being the expert. When the representatives knowledge seems to be less than the end users, confidence in the product can erode.

Going on 2 years as a satisfied customer.

Pros: Easy of use, availability of training and helpful customer service.

Cons: Would like to see standard and sample reports have explanations. You have to open each report to see if it is what you are looking for and this can be time consuming. A brief explanation of what the report covers or a snapshot template of what the report run looks like would be helpful.

Overall: ADP's WorkforceNow platform has made a significant difference in our daily payroll and reporting process. The benefits and ACA tracking alone saves us hundreds of hours a year and keeps us inline for compliance in these areas. The platform is easy to use and when something new is needed the Customer Service Center is always available to walk us through the process or set up training if needed. Maintenance is scheduled during late evening hours so there is never an inconvenience to our business and I have yet to encounter a system glitch or problem, which is a great comfort. We operate in multiple States with multiple local tax jurisdictions and ADP's WorkforceNow platform, customer service website and Client Services team streamlines the set up and additions that we need regularly.
The paydata batches are easy to set up and use and the avalibility of making employee changes while working on a payroll is very helpful. You can click on an employee while in the payroll paydata sheet, give a raise increase, change tax withholding, or change a work location and click right back to the payroll paydata sheet and continue. This is a great function that we use constantly. I have a great many reasons to be thankful that my company uses ADP's WorkforceNow and I highly recommend it.

Comments: ADP will always be my preferred payroll software of choice.

Pros: I have used ADP software for nearly 3 decades and have experienced its growth and expansion. The software is the most user friendly and easiest to learn and for the most part is designed to conducive to the needs of payroll professionals. ADP always seems to be looking for the best ways to tackle a complex software system which includes so many aspects, taxes on Federal, State and Local levels, benefits, time and attendance, not to mention payroll itself and all of the important laws and calculations. It is very important for payroll professionals and their companies to trust an outsourcing software and company to guard them from error, mistakes and penalties. ADP accomplishes better than anyone else in their industry.

Cons: In July 2017, ADP adopted a new customer service model which has been very poor. Understanding that they need time to work out the kinks, however it has been 8 months and I would still rate the system quite poor.

Pros: Reputation, reliability, convenience

Cons: version updates/changes can be frustrating - you learn a product and get used to it's functions, and they change how it works. REALLY would like to get back the ability to hover over a field and find the field name used in Custom Reports - total time waster having to search for something either in the pdf file or through the thousands of choices in the catalog.

Overall: I have almost 20 years experience using ADP - paper, several versions of Enterprise, and WFN. The system has a lot of plusses, but I miss some functionality I had with the older version - my biggest 'loss' is the ability to 'hover' over a field and get the field name used for reports. Cust Service seems to be out sourced now, calling in for support is hit or miss - I prefer speaking to someone locally who is an expert on the product, instead of someone reading prompts from a script. Still better than other products - but since changing from a company that was an ADP national account to a smaller company using a regional account, there is a definite difference in support. I don't think my new company was guided well in setting up their product - they had no experience with ADP, and didn't know what to ask. New regional rep (Anthony) has been very helpful, as well as the experts at the ADP conference last fall.

Comments: If you need payroll and a few other things, ADP will do it. And they'll do some of it well. But not all of it. And it'll cost you. You've been warned. If you want a fully functional HRIS, this probably isn't for you.

Pros: ADP does payroll pretty well, and it seems that they are investing in developing smoother interfaces and more streamlined reporting. The other parts are tacked on from acquisitions. But those have been getting better over time as well. Think about how nice it is to have benefits enrollment tied directly to payroll! And ACA reporting! Huzzah! But with those pros, there are quite a few cons. Please read on...

Cons: Probably not the best bang for you buck, and the way they bill and invoice for separte products and services makes it very easy for them to slip little charges in that add up over time. ADP has recently updated their call-in system, but I've been on hold way more than normal. They seem to get better with customer service, then get worse, then get better again. Some of the reporting is counter intuitive....

Comments: ADP does not recommend their services to smaller companies. I used them for my ~ 50-staffed company and they told me this after irreparable damages were already done (tax filings, PTO hours, reporting errors, receiving other companies invoices for almost a year, etc...). I spent 1/3 of my day at least twice a week trying to resolve the various issues with their support team (and each time I called, they gave me a different answer, transferred me to 3-5 people who did not know what they were doing or simply hung up on me).

Pros: Their payroll was fast to process automatically (however errors were made often and could not be fixed without spending 3-10 hours on the phone with various agents.

Cons: The PTO calculations started accruing inaccurately, after I spoke with them several times, they simply said that ADP is not for smaller companies. The tax filings were off for some employees, they had to get a lawyer involved. While we were clients, they got hostile over the phone when they were presented with something they didn't now how to do (which was 99% of the time). When I ended our contract, they messed up our final annual tax filings and we had to pay to correct those with a consultant.

Pros: I like the ACA portal. very easy to trouble shoot and understand what is going on. when i did ACA for entire organization, i could do uploads which helps a lot.
I like easy access for preview payroll report.
i like under the benefits plan set up, the federal limit is set up such as HSA family limit.

Cons: Etime is a little bit out of date and not easy to use for admin. a lot if things do not make sense. for example, you cannot put punches for employee's hire day, if the hire day is the first day of the pay period; schedule and punches are on separate lines.
For payroll, you cannot preview by individuals. for example, I put adjustment deduction for Ana and only want to preview for her but you cannot. you have to preview the whole company and download the register report and search to find her. it is too much work.
It is also too many clicks if you want to switch from personal profile to employment profile. sometime, i am check state tax withholding and would like to see the person's home address. you literally need to click 3 times and find out and click back. there should be a shortcut button somewhere, so that it is easy to switch by single click.
To Date Accumulators is not clear and easy to use. this should be simple
YTD report is not easy to run in ADP. there should a standard report for YTD earning, & deduction.

Overall: helps us to streamline the payroll process.

Pros: The software is easy to use and user friendly. ADP is constantly changing for the better and makes the user's life less stressful. I love the new Workforce Now with the immediate previews and how you can add schedules or change them. I love when I get a SUI change that I can go in myself and add the new rates. I love IPay and I Reports and I know I am going to love IArrive. Now employees can go in and change the taxes and direct deposits on their own. ADP's customer service is A1, fantastic, awesome and so on. I have used the Bridge several times and thoroughly love it.

Cons: I recently got a credit in my payroll account and I wasn't sure what it was for. I looked on Workforce Now in the banking and taxes section and could not find a place that would tell me what the credit was for. I called ADP's customer service and of course once again was able to help me immediately. It would be nice if there was a way to see what the credit was on the website.

Overall: I am new to this company but prior to this company I also used Workforce Now and used, IReports and IPay and WGPS. Within the last 6 months I have implemented IPay, IReports and WGPS with my current employer. My team in Texas has also implemented these products with my direction.

Comments: I always say I love ADP's features and functionality. ADP Workforce Now allows us to take the business forward as the HR environment also goes cloud based. The features are rich and engaging which makes it very simple for anyone who has never utilized ADP Workforce Now to be able to easily adapt. Everything from payroll systems, to benefits enrollments, and talent development (including performance reviews and recruitment) can all be brought into one place under one program and under one login. For medium to large size companies ADP Workforce Now is definitely a good way to go, especially if the business is trying to bring everything under one program or platform instead of utilizing several vendors/programs for multiple services, for example, a separate vendor for payroll, a separate vendor for an HRIS (Human Resources Information System) or a separate vendor for an ATS (Applicant Tracking System).

Pros: Features and Functionality Ease of use Innovative platform Engaging and visually appealing

Cons: Cost, it comes at a fairly large cost Not all inclusive from the standard Every feature requires a payment to set up (i.e. HR is separate setup fee than Payroll, etc.) Every feature or "module" is a separate "Implementation Specialist" which can get to be confusing

Pros: All in one place! All the necessary tools are available for the employee to keep track of time sheets, overtime, scheduled days etc. All the relevant features are within the software.

I can't speak for myself but the members of the corporate office of a company I worked for that used this product mentioned that it was very affordable, based on the features that I have seen within the software I would say that this is a very cost effective product!

The product is very visually appealing, it provides a lot of charts of payments, taxes etc. however these can be very difficult to access, discussed more in the Cons.

Cons: As mentioned before all the relevant features are present but the software is not user-friendly at all! Not even my manager was able to show me all the features necessary to extract tax forms, vacations etc. For such a productive tool it is very difficult to use.

The mobile version of the product is missing a lot of features from the web platform, I am not sure if this was intentional by the developers but it defeats the purpose of having a mobile app.

Website/App frequently crashes for example when multiple people at work try to clock in sequentially, the app tends to freeze, I am not sure if this is a server issue or an issue with the software!

Overall: Access to all my necessary work related papers, taxes vacation etc.

The ADP software is great, but the customer support is hard to navigate.

Pros: *The software seems to work well on the employee side of things--employees are able to easily clock in and out and only rarely experience interruptions.
*As an admin, the updated WFN is easier for me to navigate through and make changes in than the older iteration was.

Cons: *Review of timesheets by supervisors is time-consuming at best and a literal fight with the computer at worst.
*Customer support only completely solves the problem I call in about roughly 65% of the time. The remaining 35% of the time, I have to help guide the ADP specialist through the steps that need to be taken to solve my issue.
*Functionality that we used was removed during the switch to ADP WFN--use of notes on non-worked lines in timesheets, password resets only work sometimes, certain reporting functions, and the timesheets are much more clunky to navigate in now.

Overall: The software is definitely easier than trying to manage everything in-house, and I've never had a problem with tax filings in the 2+ years I've been working with ADP, which is awesome!

Pros: I like that there are a ton of features above and beyond payroll that you can add if you want, and their service offerings seem to be expanding. Ease of use has increased over the years as they have combined their different features onto one site instead of needing to go back and forth from say Payroll module to Time and Attendance module.

Cons: Reporting. You shouldn't need to spend hours trying to learn how to create and eventually get your data into a useable report. Time-off is built per customer and needs to be done by ADP because it is so complex. Then set up includes needing to talk with Payroll and then Time and Attendance to get those systems communicating properly, and going a step further is even more difficult trying to get approval processes in place.

Overall: They are one of the biggest payroll companies out there, so it's good to know they won't be going out of business. From a payroll perspective, they deliver. For everything else, it's a toss up.

Pros: Inputting the paydata batch is quick and easy. Our employees appreciate the ability to choose direct deposit.

Cons: Getting answers to questions. Our questions have not often been easy or routine and can rarely be answered by the first level of support, but moving up the ladder to someone who can help is tedious, time consuming, frustrating. We often need answers quickly, not by email in a week or so, and people who reply by email half the time do not include their name. So if we do not understand the response or it does not fully answer the question, we cannot get clarification without more time consuming emails. The emails have only case numbers in the subject line so when there are two or more outstanding problems (as has been our case) it¿s very difficult to keep up with the email train. A phone call won't help when we don't know who to ask for so we reference the case number but still don't get someone who is familiar with the problem. We have dealt with SO MANY PEOPLE, all of whom are courteous and want to be helpful, but ADP seems to be so big and compartmentalized that we feel there is no one there who fully understands our company [church] and its needs. We still have outstanding issues that have been going on since April.

Overall: direct deposit of payroll checks

Pros: The aspect of this software that I like the most if the actual layout of the program and ease of use. The program is very easy to navigate and organized. Also the customer service that comes with the software is impeccable! Whenever you call into ADP there are reps there eager to assist you and the wait time is usually very minimal that is does not interrupt your whole day to fix one issue. Another part of this software that I like the most is the time and attendance piece. On our previous system we would always have problems when the weather was bad or had a power outage or for some undetermined reason the time clocks would not work or need to be reboot. But with the time and attendance with ADP and the time clocks that they have provided I have not had one problem in the last three years which is also the amount of time we have had the time and attendance system... which has been a dream compared to our previous system.

Overall: I would like to start by saying that I truly love the system and the support that is has provided be in my everyday job. But if there is one thing that I believe could be improved on is the ease of customizing your own reports.

Over the past 12 months I have helped implement ADP Workforce Now.

Comments: There are far superior products in the market place. Run away from ADP!

Pros: If you a simple demands and nothing complex or difficult the software may work for your company. The product is not intuitive nor is it user friendly.

Cons: Clearly this product was not designed by Users - it reeks of being over engineered by Engineers. If your company has different payrolls running at the same time or exceptions based different levels of employees with different benefits offered, I have one bit of advice find another HRIS vendor. Many time the Customer Service team or Implementation teams of ADP can't come up with solutions. Once ADP has implemented the software - their support decreases and solutions are minimal. You have to threaten to fire them before you get some help.

Pros: - Graphical User Interface is actually not bad - Controls for pushing out new policies and see who has seen/acknowledged - Is capable of all-in-one functionality

Cons: - The GUI blankets an aging system which desperately needs to be replaced with a ground-up rebuilding - Think of WFN as having a great payroll system, it's what ADP does right. Everything else is bolted-on and is terrible - "Works best" on outdated Internet Explorer, so when things don't work on Chrome (my company's supported browser) i have to figure out how to fix it by myself (or go into IE) - Reporting is atrocious and non-intuitive. You literally have to take classes to learn how to report - All of the bolt-on options are lacking: ATS, background check, drug screen

Pros: It's an online software and it is faster to reject payroll before transmitting it. I do like the option to cancel or void a check without calling ADP and having the option to upload information.

Cons: Continue upgrades. I'm getting tired of all the changes that sometimes instead of speeding the process it slow it down, it seems it can not get straight. I do not like the report section and of course it is annoying not to have the options to add the fields I want when creating batches. I have to use the fields that someone decided are the fields needed to create batches. I do not like at all that when I click on People (Personal information, employment or pay) the first employee in alphabetical order shows up or the last employee I was working on pops up. I'd like to have the option to select an employee without having on the screen the information of the first employee or the last one I was working on

Comments: Pricing is pretty comparable, but charged per active employee, per payroll cycle, per company code. If you are processing on a weekly basis it can be much more expensive. Assessing your payroll cycles and the breakdown of your company into different company codes prior to go live is imperative to long term cost reduction. Be sure to check invoices EVERY TIME as random charges and fees have a way of popping up where they don't belong.

Pros: ADP is very simple to use for small to medium businesses as long as you don't have intricate detailed payroll processes. Following standard payroll processes is simple and the reporting is customizable enough to get you the information you need. The customer service is excellent now that they have assigned a specific rep to each client. We have a go to person who helps with all of our needs and understands our processes. Tax services are a great plus.

Cons: ADP is an HRIS system that tries to do everything but is not best in class for any of it. If you want everything in one system it can do it for you, but it won't necessarily do everything the way you want it to do. It is very limited in customization especially in recruiting, document storage and compensation.

Pros: This software is capable of handling all aspects of our payroll. The payroll GL interface works wonderfully and saves a lot of time each pay period. ADP's customer service is excellent. Customer service is able to rectify most issues with the first phone call.

Cons: The software is so expansive and we utilize several different modules. So some of the steps for processing payroll are not linear. This makes training a new user a challenge. Example, if an employee wants to be paid out 40 hrs of vacation. We have to add those hours to the paydata batch after pulling over time cards. It could be put in it's own batch as well. But then, we need to remember to change the time off balances in T&A manually. So the thing I like least about the software, is payroll is not an easy step-by-step process.

Overall: This software allowed us to incorporate T&A, payroll and benefits into one piece of software. This allows HR and payroll to work more seamlessly together. We generate less paperwork, because property supervisors now submit one report for payroll, instead of multiple pieces of paper showing hours, time off, etc.

Comments: I use ADP for payroll in both US & Canada, currently WFN works much better in the US. Canada is still using an old backend payroll system with the WFN front side so it does not work as smooth as it should. There are going to be Pros and Cons for any system you choose, there is no system that is going to be 100% perfect. Every company has to make their own decision based on their own needs. I've done a number of implementations with different products, and have been happy with the software choice each time based on the needs. There is going to be good and bad with any software that you choose. I've been happy with the service that I have received from ADP and the performance of WFN, yes their could be improvements and of course cost could always be less but what company doesn't want to save money if they can. All in all I don't think that you can go wrong with WFN, just make sure that you understand your company needs and that ADP understands your needs, I cannot stress this enough.

Pros: Wide range of capability Available in other countries Ease of Use Quick payroll turnaround when needed Can log in from anywhere Quick and detailed preview prior to finalizing payroll At a glance dashboard ADP is responsive to feedback on Improvements

Cons: Getting direct contact with Tax Filing is difficult Reporting capabilities is good but not great I miss Crystal Reports Don't have the ability to write a SQL query directly against the database Would like to see per employee cost come down

Pros: Reputation of ADP and prior experience with them.

Cons: Customer service not knowing the software. CS not seeing the "big picture" and catching any other things that need to be done.

Overall: I've had a love/hate relationship with ADP. We've had a number of struggles trying to get the modules to work the way we need them to. With the recent major upgrade, it's been a very time consuming and frustrating ordeal finding a knowledgeable customer service person, and even then it seems that every CS call is a minimum of 45 minutes. They've assured me they are training people and getting better, but I haven't seen much evidence of that. We had a time off balance issue at the first of the year, and their explanation did not hold water. We still don't know how it happened. If it hadn't been for the fact that we went from ADP to Fidelity (6 months) to Ceridian (9 months) and back to ADP, I'd be considering other vendors.

I sincerely hope it gets better. The issues I know of scare me enough. What about the ones we don't know?

Recommendations to other buyers: It has the capability of being a great system, but still needs a lot of work.

Comments: The ADP HR Software is very outdated in my opinion. In addition to taking an exorbitant time to download information, the ease of use of the software requires experience and is difficult for new users to understand in a relatively fast time frame. Additionally, there are too many steps to find the information desired, especially when running crucial management reports. Often times, I have to contact my IT expert to simply run a needed management report due to the difficulty in locating the report if not previously run. In the edition used by my company, there are no pace holders or indicators to let you know if the software is processing a request or not when trying to access the payroll data which is very frustrating especially when employees are waiting for crucial information via telephone and I am unable to determine if the software is processing my request or not. I have found other programs to be much more convenient and easy to use and do not recommend this product at all. Additionally, I have advised the HR IT team to look at other programs that would much more efficient as well as easier to utilize.

Pros: Program is very useful in getting desired historic employee data whether its payroll related or historical data such as start and termination dates even for terminated employees who have left the company either recently or much longer ago.

Cons: Ease of use. Time to process data requests Relatively outdated graphics and features System often crashes and requires restart wasting valuable time.

Comments: ADP takes their lead from their clients along with their competitive research. It is a great feeling to know such a big company cares about what you think.

Pros: I like the look and feel, the ease of use and adoption rate among my senior leaders and employees. The product is continually adding new functionality to make access to information quicker and more intuitive. Customer service used to be a disaster and ADP changed their training model last year and now it is a pleasure to speak with their support team. Everyone is knowledgeable and bends over backward to help. It was a fantastic move by ADP.

Cons: Not top of class yet BUT the frequency of updates is rapidly closing the gaps. Recruiting module needs some work but it has a lot of great features. Implementation is all about who you have on your team. Ours was incredibly rough but I know they have made some enhancements since our implementation 2 years ago.

Pros: Ease of processing payroll.
Time cards are easy to read and managers can understand it.
A lot of good reporting options.
Employees like that they can access their payroll info online as well
The ADP support time is well trained and can usually resolve issues right away.
The Bridge is a great tool for quick answers

Cons: Not enough options in the new hire wizard to complete without having to go back into the profile and add more information.
Also, Oregon has a Portland tri-met tax that should've been set up as a local tax when we started. This has to be added manually to every new hire. It should be part of the tax withholding in the new hire wizard.
It freezes every time when you bring an archived employee back to active.
Our manager in our 2nd building (onsite) cannot access ADP from his computer.
The vac/sick rules do not always follow what we initially set up. Hopefully this is fixed now.

Overall: An easy to use interface to handle everything from time clock punches to ACA reporting. There are so many great tools to utilize, that I don't think I'm taking advantage of all of them.

Pros: Its ok

Cons: to many different modules to go through to get a complete picuture

Overall: I believe that there are a ton of benefits and qualities with the Workforce Now, but I find it extreamly difficult to work through the tax/reporting and set up processes. I have over 10 years experience with ADP systems and this one is very complicated to figure out. Example: Setting up the Benefits, quite time consuming, and all the technical behind the scene technical areas, you have to almost be a programmer to understand the flags needed, codes needed etc. Most of my time is spent trying to figure out where to check and not to check with in the different areas. The processing of payroll is quite simple if you understand the way the modules are set up. Because of the problems that I have had with taxes, and benefit set up, I would rate the whole system only 3 stars. As far as the customer support, there are times that I have requested assistance and have had a wonderful experience but again to call and have to pull teeth to get to someone who knows what I am talking about.

Pros: Overall, very through HR/payroll system. Great support and training by ADP.

Cons: I do not like the fact that when I terminate an employee along with their benefits, it voids their deductions. If this is during a pay period, I would have to manually enter the deductions for the last paycheck. In order to avoid manual input, I have to wait until after the next pay period to terminated them. This does not give me an accurate headcount.

Overall: I have been working with WFN for over 3 years as our Payroll Manager. Over 25 years in Accounting/Payroll.

Recommendations to other buyers: WFN and Etime Support Centers need to be better crossed trained. Would save time when there is a problem involving both sides.

Pros: Widely used, accurate calculations and there is a customer support center for questions on just about everything.

Cons: Many times, the wait for customer service is long and at times we've have gotten inexperienced reps and are not transferred to more qualified reps in a timely manner, delaying the resolution of the issue. The application is expensive, especially the benefits and ACA modules.

Overall: I am a CPA with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of accounting management and FP&A. I have managed a team of up to 15 members, generally including the payroll function. I have worked with several version of ADP over the years, mostly midsize companies ranging from 160-450 employees.

Pros: This system is easier to use than our previous HRIS system. The interface is pretty straightforward and well organized. We also use this as our intranet so we are able to house forms, our Handbook, and other resources for employees to access in one convenience location. Also, there is a self-service feature that allows our staff to submit changes to their personal information that goes through an approval process. This has been great because it minimizes the use of paper forms.

Cons: Some of the reporting features are not too user-friendly, but that is getting better. Also, their customer service is not the best. They switched their model and gave us a dedicated rep. That person was very hard to get a hold of and often not too knowledgeable on the topic for which we needed help with.

Overall: Overall, this system has improved the efficiency of our processes. Specifically, we were able to setup carrier connections with various benefit providers so we spend less time doing data-entry manually. Their report customization is not simple, but the end result is always what we need.

Pros: Fairly universal product, as I have used it in several roles in different industries.
Easy to customize based on the features and functions that you want.
Can integrate to most General Ledger programs for easy payroll accounting
Can set up various departments and reporting structures
Very easy to use Employee Self-Service portal - allows you to upload digital forms for employee acknowledgement
Integrates with most benefits platforms - to allow for paperless enrollment
Can set up a paperless onboarding process, as it has a built-in ATS

Cons: Implementation is time consuming and expensive - especially if you need customization
Training is web-based, so it is difficult to ask specific questions
ADP says that they have improved their customer service, but it is still difficult to get answers (and they seem to turn over their reps frequently)
Expensive monthly and per payroll costs (compared to other providers), although they do have interesting promotional discounts for new clients.

Comments: Overall a good system, visually friendly and some use of ease. But customer service could use a lot of work.

Pros: The overall platform is visually friendly. I have quite a few employees that English is not their first language. They are able to easily access the information they need. However, from the admin's perspective, it can be quite tricky. There are some items that take several steps to access or in places you wouldn't think they would be in. Many features that have streamlined our processed

Cons: -There has been times that the platforms do not talk to each other. -upgrades to the software without communicating how it will effect things behind the scenes. Has caused financial issues for us. - Very inconsistent customer service. You can call the service center on 5 separate times, receive 5 different reps and receive 5 different answers. - Call time to get a rep on the phone averages about 30 minutes. I think having to wait at least 30 minutes to get a rep on the phone for assistance is outrageous. - Does not provide analytics. Have to spend hours running a variety of reports to provide my management team or the federal government.

Pros: First - ADP is always making changes and improvements to their web-based software. (Also - the fact that it's web-based enables our managers to run payroll for their department even when not in the building.)
In the past few years we've been using ADP, the portal gets more and more user-friendly, with a clean large-buttoned home screen.

Their customer service is second-to-none; we rarely have an issue getting through to someone (occasional long hold times) and every representative we've spoken to has always been helpful and friendly.

They also do a great job of updating their software to keep up with the latest in ACA rules and regulations as well.

Cons: We self-file our taxes, and each quarter we have to specifically request ADP provide certain reports. We would prefer the reports be automatically available either via their main portal or through the iReporting software.

Pros: I like the features it offers. We have a complete HR/Payroll solution all in one. I like that I can access it from anywhere and don't have to count on a work server to deliver what I need. The time management product is superior.

Cons: It has issues transferring data from one module to another. Sometimes our benefits don't connect with our deductions and that causes large problems on our end. There are so many little check boxes in the background that we were not aware of and it has caused issues on the benefits end for us as well. I wish there was a way for us to know all the little neuances before they cause us problems. Our Controller does not like that the gl interface does not give her details.

Comments: I have dealt with adp for many years before now and had never had these issues just seems like something is going on internally in which there is no one manning the ship you can barely get a manager on the phone.

Pros: If you have a very straight forward small organization and barely need an HRIS system (not sure many companies fir into this) then this can work for you.

Cons: Terrible customer service, terrible turnaround time for any changes, not customizable, no after hour service for payroll processing, much of their staff is too new to even understand what you might need, did not submit our taxes on time causing issues with our bank accounts and freezes, and finally their system is always down (time and attendance one day, reports another) which they blame on scheduled maintenance (In the middle of a work day?). All in all the system is very sluggish and the interface is terrible.

Pros: It is very straight forward system for the most part and once I am shown step by step process, I follow it and it works. I also enjoy the What's New PDF on the upcoming changes because it gives me a heads up. I also really enjoy the representative when I need assistance. They are very, very helpful. They follow-up via email or the phone when needed. There are few I correspond with via email if an issue arises and I don't have to wait on hold. I am very grateful for the step by step process they type put and send over to me so that I can use for future reference.

Cons: What I would like ADP to work on is have more job aids available for simple processes like a new employee using the time sheet for the first time. If I have any issues, I have to call in, wait on hold to get a 2 minute answer. That option needs to be created and/or improved. Also, improve the Support section to be more user friendly. I frequently log on and check if there are issues to see if there are solutions from other ADP users before calling the representatives. Sometimes the links are not active and solutions posted are not updated.

Pros: Extremely helpful support staff when an issue occurs. Their knowledge base of the software is very evident and if they cannot give you an answer they will call you back with one.
Always get a live voice to talk to. No automated diagnostics.
User-friendly software. Users can easily find their way around the data even without long training sessions.
Love that the modules speak to each other and data does not have to be entered twice (Benefits v Payroll).
Love that payroll reports are practically instantaneous. No more waiting a day for payroll reports to be returned.

Cons: Recently had an issue with an employees calculation of GTL and I was told that I needed to override the system. No explanation as to why the system couldn't handle the calculation.

Another issue was ADP's calculation of the 401k max company match. Not sure why I couldn't simply input the max number and have ADP bump against that number every payroll. Instead I had to call ADP to manually put the cap. AND I must remember to call them annually when a change is made by the IRS.

Overall: Fast, easy and accurate reporting of payroll.

Pros: This software is excellent. It feels like an expensive piece of software and is very easy to use. It completes nearly every feature you could need. I especially like the reporting function. If a report that you want doesn't exist they can create the report for you.

Cons: This is a tie between the cost of the software and the support you receive. The cost is a bit on the high side, although you will feel the quality in the system so that does kind of offset the cost. The customer service experience needs a lot more work, some times you get transferred from department to department. It does seem they are working to address this now as they have tried to introduce a one point of contact service person now, but I rarely can get in touch with this person on the first call and almost always have to leave a message. My contact person normally calls me back in the same day, but I suspect that if they hired more people in this area I could actually call in and talk to my contact person without having to leave a message and wait for a return call.

Overall: Makes my life easier by streamlining a lot of the required processes.

Cons: I don't like the format, too many clicks are needed to get to where you need to go.

Overall: the change from WFN 2 to WFN 11 did not go smoothly as we had thought it would. The implementation rep we were assigned was not helpful, not available and seemed to not know the software. We never had our official handoff to client services from the implementation person, he just dropped off the face of the earth. WFN 11 is not easy to get around in, takes way to many clicks to get to where you want to be, the older version was more user friendly. And the reporting tool changed after we finally learned to use it, yes there was a little web training, but I don't think the new tool is any easier that the other one.

Pros: As previously stated, I found this software fairly straightforward. Obviously, it is nice not to have to manually input hours on the computer or on a sheet of paper. Simply establish the software and have employees download the app on their phone. It also has a GPS system to see where your phone is so that you don't "cheat the system". Clearly no system is perfect and anyone can cheat the system if they try, but it is nice that it is more direct and easier to keep people accountable.
The location and time card settings are also straight forward with a decent amount of options. My work experience was very plain as far as signing in and out, but it is nice that there are other options if needed (different clock in options, as well as break and signing out options).
Lastly, I didn't have many (if any) software problems on it. It didn't seem to ever have any problems or hiccups while logging hours. I used it for 2 years and never experienced any problems.

Cons: Obviously, it is a little bit annoying to have to literally sign in and out of breaks. But there really is no way around it. I often forgot to sign out for my lunch break until I actually sat down to eat. However, eventually signing out and back in for lunch break became a habit.

Overall: It was very simple and straight forward to use. Who doesn't have their phone on them? It's very simple to just pull out the phone to sign in and out rather than on paper or on a computer at home. Very convenient.
