It is serviceable, but not without a lot of grievances. If you find HR software, embrace it. Pros \- Affordable. If you have a large company, this is monetarily one of the cheaper options out there. - Mostly works. For your minimum needs, it will get the job done. Cons \- Terrible UI. After logging in, the home dash doesn't load dynamically. It sits there frozen for 5+ seconds, leaving you for a moment wondering if something is wrong. Navigating the menus are confusing, the inbox is completely unintuitive. Very few things respond the way you would expect from good design. - Archaic emails. Rather than providing you an easy link to whatever subject matter you're informed about, it instead, gives you completely text based instructions on how to navigate to what you need. - Employee lookup is a hassle. Trying to navigate who is in your organization, especially if it is a large one, is too much of a task. You will be far better off if you have another directory to refer to instead. - Buggy. The site will fail to work at times, throwing Java errors and timeouts, and only for individuals rather than server wide. No easily understandable reasons are given. Review Source JRJ Jennifer R J. Cons The initial setup process took us much longer than anticipated, like a couple months longer. Admittedly, our internal setup person was also doing her normal day to day so couldn't dedicate all her time to this process. We can easily track our monthly salaries, it gives a proper calculation of our tax deductions. Cons I think they should try to improve their graphical user interface as it's not up to the mark, apart from that they should try to improve the response time of the application. February 10, 2017 5.0 We use Workforce Now for just about everything- Payroll, HR, Talent, Benefits, Time & Attendance, and the Document Cloud. I can't say enough about the ease of use- it is very user friendly. But, if I can't figure something out I can always count on the customer service to be top notch and help me to find a solution. I appreciate that this product makes my job easier than it could be because everything is in one place. I don't know what I would do without it! Pros That everything is in one place and is very user friendly. I am a person of consistency and this product is very consistent and flows very easily. Also I like that ADP is very good at taking feedback for improvements and is constantly working to make the system better. Cons Only thing I can think of is getting used to changes to the system when they first happen, but there is enough training and warning when changes happen and I eventually get used to them. I am recommending it to any future employers and my small business owners!! Everyone should have this program!! Pros The workforce software is very easy to navigate. It has all of the features listed in a detailed manner and it is so convenient. From the employee being able to input their hours each week, to being able to access check stubs and tax documents. Who doesn't have their phone on them? It's very simple to just pull out the phone to sign in and out rather than on paper or on a computer at home. Very convenient. Pros As previously stated, I found this software fairly straightforward. Obviously, it is nice not to have to manually input hours on the computer or on a sheet of paper. Simply establish the software and have employees download the app on their phone. It also has a GPS system to see where your phone is so that you don't "cheat the system". Clearly no system is perfect and anyone can cheat the system if they try, but it is nice that it is more direct and easier to keep people accountable. The location and time card settings are also straight forward with a decent amount of options. My work experience was very plain as far as signing in and out, but it is nice that there are other options if needed (different clock in options, as well as break and signing out options). Lastly, I didn't have many (if any) software problems on it. It didn't seem to ever have any problems or hiccups while logging hours. I used it for 2 years and never experienced any problems. Cons Obviously, it is a little bit annoying to have to literally sign in and out of breaks. But there really is no way around it. I often forgot to sign out for my lunch break until I actually sat down to eat. However, eventually signing out and back in for lunch break became a habit. Review Source Bryant J. It is nice to be able to clock in without having to actually use a physical time card and while walking into the work site. Also, despite not being a fan of how you have to request paid time off, ADP at least cuts down on the having to email multiple people to make such a request by having a place where you can request PTO. Cons The app is absolute garbage. It takes quite awhile to load pages. Logging in to clock in on a shift is a process that generally takes 1-2 minutes. Also, it is somewhat convoluted on how to request paid time off. ADP would’ve been better served to make integrate requesting PTO on specific days with each person’s time card. You can also add blank lines to days so if you need to log 4 hours under one code and 4 hours under another, there are ways to do it. Cons I don't like that I cannot change the time from vacation back to regular time worked after it's logged. Every once in a while I put the vacation on the wrong day and have to have HR change it for me. This could be how our company has it setup and may not be an issue for all. W-2, paystubs, hours worked, vacation, sick pay, etc. I like that I can also make changes to my contact info and tax claim status at any time. There are many features I can change and HR gets the notification immediately. Cons Sometimes there are glitches when I try and save my work hours. I find it awkward jumping from current pay to current pay adjustments and remembering which things go in particular fields. Wish you could do all earnings in one tab, deductions in another. There is alot of information and reporting available to you but finding it and creating the report the first time is a bit of a hit & miss game. Luckily there support team to help with these things is great and they help walk you through. Also the online learning tool is quite useful and extensive. Pros If you have the full package - it is the perfect place for time, attendance, vacation, payroll tracking. ADP WFN team support is phenomenal. Employees can access pay statements, time off balances that include pending time off, and team calendars. The system can also generate requirements for employees to review new policies, etc. and track responses. Cons Sometimes it was difficult to locate the item I was searching for, but I think the recent update to add a dashboard will alleviate this issue. Also, there were work-arounds needed for an employee to change their regular working hours, as an hourly employee. Otherwise, I have not had much trouble using this software. The report search could use some work. Maybe have a cheat sheet telling us what report to run for common searches (such as birth dates). Pros Very simple to edit missed or incorrect punches. Most options/functions are self-explanatory. Easy to edit employees' information. Cons Maybe it's an option that my company chose not to add, but it would make attendance and punctuality tracking simpler if employees' schedules were entered in ADP. Then I'd be able to see absences, switched shifts, tardiness, leaving early, etc., without going old school and asking all the supervisors and comparing ADP to paper schedules. I do find that looking for a particular report is tricky. For instance, just today, I was trying to find a report that would show me all my employees' birth dates but couldn't find it. Cons Reporting, each report provided by the system needs to be aligned with others to get a full payroll report. The reporting process could be much more user friendly for a payroll administrator.
