Pros My former organization used PeopleSoft to manage our student population. The software easily allowed us to track students through their life-cycles at the university. Additionally, we enjoyed the ability to track our alumni and keep a database of their current areas, using them for donations in the future. Cons Despite having great features, this software is a little more challenging to learn. However, Oracle does provide some excellent training videos online and their conference gives an even more in-depth look at the product. Review Source Kimberly G. Good tool though. Pros I like that robust employment data is stored in one place, securely, for my employees - from pay information to job position data Cons I would like to be more versed in PeopleSoft to become more efficient. I think the software could be more intuitive - currently you have to dig for some functions. Pros It's really easy to batch invoices, edit invoices and delete vouchers as well. Dealing with GL and run it's quite simple and it import to excel, to do journals and posting is all in a linked excel with the software which is great as well. Cons It takes a bit of time and practice to get used to it. Some of the functions are quite complex and you definitely need training to learn how to use, then it gets quite organic... June 6, 2018 3.0 Pros It's fairly simple to use if you're only needing the standard applications within the software such as paycheck information and employee details. Cons It's complicated to add something like travel expense reporting. We had to make a webpage for our lab members with instructions on how to fill in and submit expense reports! It's not very intuitive. There are some bugs, like you have to click certain buttons (I think you have to save the page) before the function for uploading an attachment becomes available. But that's difficult to figure out unless someone's told you! It took some time to get used to navigating between the different screens, learning shortcuts, which buttons to use and when. Still learning all that this Software has to offer Review Source Luis J. Pros The software is versatile considering the amount of information you can process, it let´s you easy download cost reports and analyze them to generate valuable business insights since it can be seen from many different variables, depending on how it is maintained. Cons The software, as any other tracker requires the employees to submit information correctly, if best practices are not followed, data can be incomplete and difficult to track when investigating further. There was not much complexity to the tool so it was easy to use. Cons Limitations played key role in JHRPS moving away from peoplesoft. Pros My overall experience with PeopleSoft 9.2 Time and Labor was positive. The Oracle documentation was well detailed and configuration was easy to follow and test. Preparation of user-end training was going smoothly using other Oracle learn and try products. Cons Like any large ERP, the implementation cycles were difficult. The team required to complete various task have to be pros, otherwise, you will run into issues in every cycle of the product. My organisation had lot of customization done. - Reporting is robust - Secure - Compensation module is easy to use Cons For administrators who require reporting on a daily basis, it can be a task. - "Queries" need to be learnt which means steep learning curve - Can give errors at times when data is updated at certain fields in employee file -Employee snapshots are not at a single window (Ex Work information and Personal Information) are at separate places -No easy landing page. In order to reach frequented actions I had to mark the actions as favorites - Is not easy to connect with other platforms/Apps - Not intuitive enough for the end user Review Source Naman D. Pros I liked how easy it was to check the payroll at lowes. They have recently changed to another program but I very much liked the fact that you could get a print out and view each and every paycheck you got and when you got it. Cons It did not show the change in pay from that last paycheck like some of the newer programs do. It would be useful to see that but its no big deal. Oracle was great about changing their view of the product to be better at being visually appealing to the eye and reading/navigating for the older generations who join the team at later times. Pros For the most part user friendly. Most updates are straight forward. Cons Some features are limited. There could always be better explanation on how to use those features. Pros I liked the ability to house different employee groups, hourly and salary. I also liked the option of having multiple work assignments set up for a single employee to show the different position, along with compensation, ability to track anniversary dates, and the automation of the pay lines that created based on the updates to the employee. Cons The system is complicated and has many layers. I didn't understand the need for the multiple modules for employee groups, and the many screens you had to update to complete updates to an employees persona data. Specifically, updating emergency contact, education info, or address changes were entered on different screens, in setting up new employee instance. I would like the same ability to make those updates enter at the same time same screen since it still personal data. But this could be because of the customization of the organization. Pros The thing that I liked most about this software is that it is quite simple with its menus and drop down options. I enjoyed that the software gave me the ability to store favorite for quick access to links that I used constantly. Cons The software appeared outdated and was not always easy on the eyes.
