Honestly, couldn't get much better! Pros Most features that come with the software are free of charge. The customer support is fantastic. The use of a mobile app is also quite handy. Ability to create several different schedules underneath the same account. Cons Sometimes tends to slow down a bit (especially around noon-ish) Could do with giving the user a better monthly view and the ability to see his/her co-workers shifts. Review Source TE Twyla E. This software has helped remind our staff of shifts and made it much easier for us to schedule and swap shifts around. Pros OpenSimSim will send my staff notifications of their shifts, they can easily apply for shifts and swap shifts. Makes managing their schedules a breeze! Cons I have no complaints about this software. It has worked great for our small staff. It allows us to have two distinct schedules that share some employees. Pros I like how it allows staff to pick up shift opportunities. Pros The ease of use on a desktop computer is great, very intuitive and easy to use. It has all the essentials you’d want from a scheduling app. Cons I do my schedule mostly on my iPad, and unfortunately the app isn’t on the admin end. It’s designed for employees not managers/administrators. I’d love an app made specifically for managers but for now I have to use Google Chrome and even then there are some glitches I don’t come across while on a normal desktop. Review Source FS Freddy S. Switching to team view on Mobile is super convenient. Cons No team view on browser for desktop. We have set it up on each employees phone so they have access to their schedule. It makes it easier on them. Plus if we need to make changes it will update. Employees not only have access to the free app, but this also gives them better opportunity to use the software. It's also less complicated then the previous scheduler that we used. Pros Makes it very easy to see a whole week to schedule out with vacations blocked out so I know exactly who I can schedule and when. Employees love the mobile app and ease of use to ask for time off and to see schedule at a glance. Staff are able to see shift changes live (previously we were using an excel document). The roster is accessible and comprehensible. Pros This software is perfect for managing casual staff! The roster is accessible, shifts are easily tracked for the individual and the use of notifications has proved awesome. Cons We require the option of amending shifts from past weeks to reflect changes that may have occurred on shift. We require the option to swap shifts between casuals that have different "positions". Even that ‘con’ mentioned above is not a big deal. I give it 5 stars just for being oberall very easy to use, and full-featured. Pros As an employee, it’s very easy to check my schedule, see what days others are on, and send quick ‘instant messages.’ While it DID take me awhile to figure that simply rotating my screen showed a great calendar view with other employees schedules as well... I can still say it’s a wonderful feature! Cons As I mentioned above, It toom me awhile to figure out that rotating the screen changed my schedule view. Unbelievably, not everyone my figure on getting different views from simply rotating thier screens. A notification somewhere as a reminder would be a plus... It's easy to use and has cut down the time I need to work on my schedule. Pros OpenSimSim is very easy to use and set up. The template is intiuitive and I didn't have to spend a lot of time researching how to use it. It makes scheduling my staff a lot easier. Cons You can't use OpenSimSim on your phone, which is really too bad. I don't mind using it on my laptop but when I want to make quick changes, a phone app would be ideal. Review Source SL Sean L. Cons It seems very slow and can be difficult to use at times...will say that an employee is unavailable, even though they are available. I really like the way it looks. Because of that it is a pleasure to work with! Pros I really like how easy it is to use. Everything makes sense. Making a rota has never been so easy! The mobile app is working like a charm! Cons I would change the overview of Time Off Requests. This app is so much easier and quicker to write schedules and foe employees to check/request off. Pros The ease of creating the schedule. The copy and swap feature is brilliant. Cons Just a few glitches with the request off feature. Specifically when creating the schedule the scheduled request off days will move on their own to a different day for the same employee. The method that was being used was literally a calendar with people's names on it. It was very confusing and employees were constantly confused about when they were working and trying to swap shifts was a nightmare. OpenSimSim was the perfect solution to help me clean up the scheduling data and give my employees clarification of when they are working, and flexibility to manage their shifts and availability. It has cut the time I spend managing my schedule from 10-12 hours to 1-2 hours a week. Pros The ease of use for the employees Cons There is no way to turn off the chat and delete chat rooms as an Administrator. I understand that functionality is part of what makes the software unique, but if it is associated with my company, then I should be able to control the chat within my account. If I have a problem employee, I can fire them and remove them from the company, but the chat rooms and inappropriate posts are still there and can not be removed. Also, the ability to change employee's contact information would help.
