They made email automation a breeze for us. Pros Klaviyo is highly intuitive without sacrificing the powerful nature of its features. It offers everything we want and not much that we don't or won't in the future. I can't say enough about the on boarding team and process and the account rep we have access to. It's just been a great experience all around. Cons The software is definitely pricey at its highest tier, but if you can make it work in the budget, go for it. Especially if you're a Shopify user. Follow-ups, re-engagement campaigns, customer win backs, cart and browse abandonment were either 1) not a thing or 2) a dry affair automated without the addition of rules to secure the right audience. Klaviyo changed everything, we are now rocking and rolling on a new level. We have been able to attribute our newsletter to several big sales, and customer win-back campaigns are working based on the sales data as well. I had no visibility to who was responding favorably and to what content because I could not get the budget for a large MAP. This platform is affordable for relatively small marketing budgets, yet very powerful, so far. It's as if I had the budget to hire a person to manage my entire non-transactional email marketing strategy and implementation. I do wish they could take over transactional emails from BigCommerce - who butchers the process, but the sales rep said they cannot do that right now. Pros I'd say so far I like the rules setup the best, segmenting my flows and campaigns to make sure I'm only hitting up people who 1) are interested in what I have to say right now, 2) Are the right audience for my current message/in-store sale announcement, etc and/or 3) Have not heard a similar message anytime recently. My other favorite is the easy integrations with other apps I'm using to manage my eCommerce and Digital marketing systems. Cons No overall CTR metric available (only per-campaign), nor a metric for open-rate stats across all campaigns/flows. Needing more training to intuit the analytics panel and some features but they do not have phone training available, I've been using it for about two months now, and I have a few blind spots that I cannot intuit from the interface, which is now a problem for me. Scheduling the emails and setting up automated flows is very simple and user friendly. Cons I wish they would offer more templates. It would be great to have more design options too. TH price is higher than what I was paying, but you get what you pay for. Pros I love the customer data that is available with Klaviyo. I used two other ESP before finally landing on Klaviyo. The training, templates, ease of use combined with the ease of segmenting customers based on their actions and demographics makes Klaviyo invaluable for a small business owner (any business owner for that matter). Cons Only con I have noticed thus far is when using email templates, the formatting and layout is difficult to modify (or maybe it is just me). Reason for choosing Klaviyo I knew I wanted Klaviyo based on other small business owner recommendations. Every business owner I know have switched over to this platform because it's that great. Pros With Klaviyo it's very easy to use this software. I have tried other platforms in the past and was a little discouraged because I could not figure them out and it was too many steps, but when I found Klaviyo, it all changed. Everything just came together and I think a lot of it had to do with things being automatically set up, you just have to make your edits. For example, the flows, all you have to do is edit the information with yours and a few tweaks as to how you want it delivered and that's it. Cons There is nothing not to like about Klaviyo and if there is, I have yet to find it. I am a novice at email marketing and this clicked for me as soon as I logged into the platform. In a space where almost every provider has crisp, clean, easy to use design template features, it's a little frustrating to waste time struggling through a new more difficult design process. Pros Easy to create new flows for events, like sending out an email if a user creates an order. You can nicely track if emails are opened or bounced. A lot of advanced features, like selecting segments of users quickly. Cons There is a delay when emails are sent out. This is a dealbreaker for things like password resets when you need an email instantly, not after a 3-5 minute delay. There is no option to reset 2FA without writing an email to support. Pros The email templates are great and easy to customise. Cons I swapped over to Klaviyo from Mail Chimp after hearing good things about them. What a mistake. I spent hours creating an important email campaign, uploaded my email list, pressed send, and then boom, my account is disabled because of a 'random compliance check'. No warning of this, and no idea if my campaign was even sent. The dashboard says 'Nice Job, you sent your first campaign' but there is no data available 24 hours later, and still no response from Klaviyo. They said it would be reviewed within 24 hours, but still crickets. I can't send it via Mail Chimp because I have no idea if it was actually sent (although I suspect not). I wouldn't consider starting a new e-commerce store with any other ESP. Pros Klaviyo provides a huge amount of data, laid out in an intuitive way with filters and segmenting that just make sense. It's powerful enough to be more than just an e-mail marketing tool, we also basically use it as our CRM. Cons The templating system could be improved. Sometimes it feels slightly clunky, especially if I want to create a templated flow (like Browse Abandonment for example) with our company's branding.
