Overall, my experience with Klaviyo has been very positive. I’ve been using the platform for around 8–10 years, so I have a strong understanding of how it works and what it can do. As an agency, the majority of our clients use Klaviyo, so I’ve had extensive hands-on experience with it across a wide range of ecommerce brands and use cases.

Pros

What I liked most about Klaviyo is that once you get comfortable with the platform, it really stands out as one of the best email tools for ecommerce. It offers strong automation, detailed segmentation, and solid reporting, which makes it very effective for growing and managing email marketing.

Cons

The biggest downside is the cost. It can be expensive, especially as your subscriber list grows and you scale your email program.

Pros

What I love most about Klaviyo is how it turns data into actual revenue. Being Klaviyo certified, I’ve seen firsthand how their predictive analytics and behavioral "Flows" outperform basic newsletters. The ability to segment audiences based on specific purchase history or browsing habits makes every email feel personal and incredibly effective.

Cons

The biggest hurdle is definitely the pricing structure. As your list grows, the monthly costs jump significantly, which can be a bit of a sting for scaling brands. Overall, it has been very positive. Great platform, good support, amazing capabilities for ecommerce brands. But, if margins are tight and you don't capitalize on email marketing you probably won't be able to afford it

Pros

Klaviyo is incredibly powerful. You can make an infinite number of email flows, campaigns, text campaigns, form, etc. It can be super granular, you can connect it to Facebook for creating custom audiences, it tracks everything from customer purchase frequency to when they are active on site, etc. I sent out weekly campaigns and it does a great job and allowing me to format them the exact way I want it.

Cons

Their pricing is honestly insane. I got grandfathered in so I pay a super discounted rate but if I were a new customer looking for an email marketing platform I probably wouldn't go with Klaviyo simply because once you start to scale the cost is ridiculous.

Overall I’ve been very happy with Klaviyo which is why I’ve continued to use them for many years now. As an online retailer, it’s a perfect match.

Pros

I love the ease of managing my email and sms marketing with Klaviyo. I’ve used their software for over 6 years and I love that they are always adding new features and making flows even more powerful. I love the ease of connecting Klaviyo to my Shopify store and other apps.

Cons

I wish that email marketing was cheaper, but I feel Klaviyo is pretty competitive. I also wish that sms was included for the price of email instead of an add-on.

Pros

Klaviyo has been a great program in our marketing stack. I love the ease of use and how simple it was to integrate with my Shopify website and other tech I'm using to manage my shop. I also really like how the widgets look on the site.

Cons

The only thing I wish Klaviyo would improve on is their reviews integration with TikTok Shop. I would love to be able to pass reviews from TikTok Shop to my website, or from my website to TikTok Shop. I see that this is functionality that others reviews platforms have with TikTok Shop.

Pros

Allows for tracking on emails and website trafffic. We like how the data graphs. Easy flows and campaigning.

Cons

No phone support...live chat support is very confusing and they refer to self help a lot. You have to have a lot of patience.

It's the industry standard for a reason, but it's not frictionless. We use it daily for email and SMS across segmented lists, triggered sends, and campaign reporting. The core functionality works. The UX and support don't match what you're paying at scale. Worth it, but there's room to improve on the operator experience side.

Pros

Segmentation is genuinely powerful once you learn it. Having email and SMS in one platform makes targeting and list management way cleaner than splitting tools. Shopify integration is solid, flows trigger reliably, and the data is there if you know where to look.

Cons

Reporting is clunky and the UI buries things that should be front and center. Building anything beyond a basic flow takes way too many clicks.

For the moment we believe this is one of the best SMS and Email marketing tools available.

Pros

The interface is one of the cleanest we've worked with, and it actually works! (Which is something unfortunately didnt happen with some other alternatives) Flows are easy to create, user profiles are really complete with all the info on a specific contact (if you have an ecommerce integration active)

Cons

It does have a learning curve, but they provide plenty documentation and online courses to learn how to use it from beginner to advanced user.

For an online store, Klaviyo is an essential tool. I have several clients with whom I have implemented the tool and at least 40% of sales are thanks to the flows, registration pages and campaigns that I have implemented through Klaviyo. Indispensable if you want your online store to be successful.

Pros

The ease of use and ease of implementation with Shopify. In addition to the excellent tools for attracting customers, such as registration forms, automated flows and email campaigns that you can segment in great detail so that each message reaches the right customers.

Cons

The only problem is that for the Latin market, messaging via WhatsApp is more important than SMS, as the app does. This is something that needs to evolve if it wants to improve in the Latin market.

It is an industry standard that plays nicely with other marketing software, and is an essential to any Shopify user. Integrations outside of the Shopify world can however be much more implementation intensive.

Pros

Klaviyo continues to be the industry leader in helping e-commerce store operators, easily segment, personalize, and set up automations that drive revenue, and build owned audiences.

Cons

I don't like how you have to pay more for the advanced analytics module. These are features that should be baked into the core product.

It’s very easy to use, all the extra help documentation and free courses it offers. Syncs to Shopify and has good reporting.

That it’s a bit behind in how customer email is changing now. There are some things we’d like to be able to do but it’s limitations prevent us- especially in the AI sector

Working with Klaviyo has been great. There hasn't been any major bugs or issues, and when I did find out, I showed them and they fixed it quickly. It's nice to have a company that responds fast to issues.

Pros

Their company continually develops new products that help merchants achieve greater success. They also have a suite of tools, so it's a whole lot more than just email.

Cons

They recently updated their billing which makes it so you have to really stay on top of your list. It's not the worst thing in the world, we were able to get the billing back down after a lot of cleaning.

Pros

I like the different customizable lists you can make with this product. We use different lists to personalize our marketing efforts.

Cons

I have nothing to say I liked least about Klaviyo. Everything is easy to use and the import and export options are nice. It would be nice to be able to integrate Google Business with Klaviyo to keep employee lists automatically updated.
