In my opinion Ometria doesn't live up to its price tag, and doesn't quite know what it is. As an ESP it falls down due to the limited automation functionality, poor email builder, and no front end preference centre, and as a CRM database it falls down due to data inconsistencies across the platform and limited ability to spot patterns and trends in the data.

Pros

\- Pretty strong reporting capabilities at an individual contact level as well as across a general cohort - Good segmentation functionality

Cons

\- Poor, very limited automation builder - Platform is very costly yet Ometria charge for creation of simple email blocks (you can use code to build blocks yourself but Ometria will only work on their own code if you need help) - Preference centre isn't available to edit in the front end - Ometria charge for changes - Poor and basic email builder (somewhere between a WYSIWYG and drag and drop)

Pros

Having customer information including demographics, browsing and purchasing history, interactivity, and email history is critical and used daily. Having these all in one place has proven invaluable for our team.

Cons

Filtering can be finicky, a capitalization can make or break your search. Quantifying sales from email blast is doable but time consuming. Unsubscribing is a huge pain.

Pros

Not just another email tool. Merchants fall in love with the insight that this gives them on their customers. It enables them to engage rather than just firing emails their way.

Cons

Like many solutions in this product area, needs a certain level of commitment to make the most of the power of the platform but it'll be worth it.
