Pros Donorbox is great because it’s easy to use, lets donors give repeatedly (recurring), handles lots of payment types, and has good donor tracking — all without a big learning curve or cost up front. Cons Fees can add up when you combine platform + payment processing, and some advanced features are locked behind higher-cost tiers. Founder Design Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Everything you need with very low fees" September 16, 2025 5.0 Very easy to create and embed forms and buttons / floating buttons and has everything I need and more than I was expecting to use too. Pros I was looking for a way to collect donations on my WordPress website. Not only did Donorbox have very attractive rates, but what really stood out for me was the currency switcher, which was either not available in other options as far as I could see, or was only available in paid plans. The currency converter was really important to me so that donors from around the world can easily understand how much they are donating. Cons I've not found anything I didn't like yet. It's a little annoying that I have to have a Stripe account as well as a Donorbox account but I totally understand why a payment gateway is necessary in any donations platform. Donors are able to see the progress and contribute from many channels. Pros How easy integration with our website is and the online seminars. I love how they give you many options for implementing the donation page to your website. Pros How easy it was to set up even for a new nonprofit. I also like how they offer custom colors to seamlessly fit into your website. Cons That transaction fees, but I love that they do give donors an option to cover those. Pros We were really impressed with the customer service we received when getting set up on the platform. We love the usability of the platform for our donors- so much easier to donate than our previous platform! Cons We struggled a bit at the beginning with UK integration but it now is working well for us with the gift aid reporting which we can send off to hmrc. I can have people donate to my organization when I have an event as an option, which is nice. Cons When I migrated, I lost all of my historical data, which was kind of a bummer. But it;s all still in Stripe so I will be ok. Our organization fund raises once a year for a community special event, 4th of July fireworks, and we will continue to use Donorbox to aid us. Pros Compared to Go Fund Me, Donorbox was a dream. VERY easy to set up, the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was also very easy to track our donations. Dollar transfers were seamless and prompt. Cons Nothing comes to mind. Since we have used competing on line donor services in the past, it was easy to look for similar shortcomings with Donorbox, but we didn’t suffer any of them. We find the donation tiers really help our fundraising and it’s nice to have the recurring options as well. Pros There are customizable donation tiers and it is easy embed into website. It is easy to edit and we have never had an issue with payouts. Cons I think we were grandfathered into the donation tiers, and now you have to pay for them? There aren’t a ton of free functional options besides the donation tiers. I appreciate that we can have several campaigns going under one account, and that it's easy to track as well as send tax receipts. Cons It took our team some time to feel confident about how to use the account holder side of the website.
