For our small language school, Thryv does most of what we need. It's not perfect but it beats keeping everything in spreadsheets like before. The price feels a bit high for just 8 employees, but the time it saves me from administrative tasks lets me focus more on teaching.

Pros

The appointment calendar really saves me time - students can book their own lessons and I get notifications. Setting up recurring lessons for my regular students takes just few clicks. The invoice templates work well for our monthly tuition fees, and I like that parents can pay online. Also appreciate the automatic reminder texts before classes start.

Cons

Sometimes the system gets slow when I'm trying to update multiple student profiles at once. The mobile app crashes on my older Android phone. Would be nice if there was a way to track student homework submissions directly in the platform.

Pros

The standard Social media post program was a little hit or miss. Many of the general posts did not reflect the quality of work that we perform. I am excited about the new concierge service to handle this aspect of our program

Overall, great experience. The account representative is great. He’s helped tremendously and offers me additional add ons but doesn’t apply pressure for me to sign up for the add ons.

Pros

A lot of features that allow me to operate my business. The text and email campaigns are easy to use and very beneficial. Also, my account rep \[sensitive content hidden\] is always very attentive and knowledgeable when I need him or need to ask questions.

Cons

Their social media platform needs work for sure. I wasn’t a fan of their social media platform and we tried to work with them but ultimately had to use a different company for that.

100% changed my practice. The client interaction has increased 500% streamlining time needed for existing and potential new customers.

Pros

The Existing and New Client appointment management has helped our office immensely. It allows continues appointment request by our customers and for the whole office to schedule, see what others schedule and interact with our clients through a shared email inbox which also allows document submission.

Cons

Printing calendar feature requires a bit of a trick to print a calendar without the Thryv side bar covering half the page. There is a workaround.

Great service from my team and the product suite is great. Sending email campaign and building them look amazing. Email function is good and invoice sending is simple. It does streamline the process of running a business and bringing back existing customers

Cons

Would really be great to have a better way to mark messages as unread. Currently it is a pain to have to go back to the inbox, find the message, and then go to mark as unread.

I initially was quite happy with Thryv as a CRM, but as time went on, using the system became increasingly frustrating due to performing consistently on a desktop (Mac or PC), having to start to pay for extra features, and the overall quality, or lack of quality, I was receiving for my monthly subscription.

Pros

I liked the fact that there were many functions managed in a single footprint

Cons

Thryv became too costly and quirky, and they outsourced their tech support overseas.

It has simplified our system for working with customers and tracking their responses. This has allowed is to convert leads into orders at a much faster clip without loosing track of conversations along the way.

Pros

Thryv has been great for keeping our client communication, invoicing, and scheduling all in the same place. I particularly love how I can quickly follow-up or remind clients effortlessly without jumping around several different tools. It’s such a time saver to have all customer profiles and interactions in one place.

Cons

The marketing automation capabilities are somewhat basic in comparison to dedicated products. Also, there was more time up front to set up workflows than I thought there would be, especially in terms of customizing templates to our particular business supplies focus.

My experience with Thryv started off great; I was super excited to find a CRM that really seemed to cater towards small business. Things took their turn for the worse when my bookkeeper notified me in early June that there were some major issues with my books due to how Thryv was addressing their 2.9% service fee, and rolling it into the Quickbooks HST Tax line. The gentleman that onboarded me, was my lifeline to Thryv for the majority of my Thryv experience, and upon notifying him of my Book-keeper’s findings, was told to tell me that, “it must be the client’s fault,” and that they would not be paying for any of the bill to correct the problem. I was then told that the problem “had been fixed, and that I could go ahead and re-connect Quickbooks back to the CRM.” Despite my bookkeeper locking the books entirely so that no damage could be done, Thryv circumvented the lock and overwrote all the work that the bookkeeper had just corrected. Thryv finally admitted that it was their fault, and opted to give me 1/3rd of what I had paid to fix the issue they created. It is now the end of October, and with no choice but to accept their offer as "we are at an impasse" as Thryv has called it, their services have been terminated. Communication was poor once my lifeline was let go from the company. I was stuck paying for unusable software while trying to sort out the "impasse" and over all, this is just a poor company to deal with. The only reason they are known is because they are owned by Dex media.

Pros

It initially seemed really well organized and easy to onboard with.

Cons

Customer support and their accountability (lack thereof). Lots of issues between quickbooks and Thyv syncing. Very little accountability on the side of upper management.

Not good enough service for the money spent. We were spending 5 figures and not getting attention needed.

Pros

I liked that they managed our Google Ads, calls, website, listings, and socials in one place.

Cons

I did not like the responsiveness from staff. It was difficult to get them to attend to our account. We did not get quality leads. We were miscategorized, leading to not only fewer calls, but calls for another industry taking vital time away from business. We were spending 5 figures and not getting attention needed.

Very helpful, more useful than I expected when I chose it

Pros

Love the calendar, CRM, online appts and reminders, and ability to create/edit/send & re-send invoices (& take payment online)

Cons

Searching the CRM -- when you type a first and last name it shows ALL entries that match either the first or last name, and then I have to scroll through to find what I'm looking for. Just show me the perfect match! Or at least make it the first thing I see.

Overall I am very happy with the THRYV software, and I haven't found a comparable offering for the price.

Pros

THRYV is easy to use, easy to implement, and provides features that other software in this category does not, for instance, estimates, invoicing, and some marketing.

Cons

I can't pull reports that include all my customers due to line restrictions. I would also like to see a "last date of purchase" field (for marketing purposes).

Generally speaking, this product will do what a small business needs it to do. It keeps track of your accounts, allows you to send estimates and invoices, keeps track of what is outstanding (clunky), and helps with marketing campaigns. Even though some areas still need work, the software team is consistently making improvements and updates.

Pros

This product was very easy to learn and implement. The customer service people are pleasant.

Cons

I am not happy with the search function in the Billing & Invoicing section. It would be really nice to be able to search by company name or child account name in this area. While this is a great CRM system, this is definitely not an accounting software. Some areas refer to open invoices as payments which is not just inaccurate, but the opposite of what they are. I find the reporting to be clunky and cumbersome as well.

It is crucial to the business I run!!

Pros

I have made a lot of mistakes in business. THRYV IS NOT ONE OF THEM. They designed a beautiful website and created a professional image both for me, my clients, and my competition. I set the bar when it comes form, fit and function of business operations. The customization you can develop and the ease to adapt to the ever changing business world is crucial and central to the small business owner. Thryv has taken everything I've thrown at and is critical part of what I do daily

Cons

My only complaint is the time it takes to get an ACH payment. From the posture of being constructively critical if you could adapt reels in posting to social media that would be phenomenal

### "Impressive Customer Service and Good Tools"

Overall, I've enjoyed Thryv. It's a bit more expensive than I ultimately can afford right now (being as my business is relatively new and still trying to grow). But, I'm going to stick with it and put in the work to make it a success. Thryv will be of great benefit especially when the ball gets to rolling really well.

Pros

I love that I can get a quick response from Customer Service, and they are always so eager to help. I really love the follow-up meetings with coaches. I really hope these coaching sessions will help my business grow. The social media posting tools are great! The calendar and booking features are great! I would love it if I could give my clients the option to choose from meeting locations, but I'm not seeing that option anywhere. I may check with a coach at some point. Not a big deal though.

Cons

Whew. I've been around and around regarding the auto-billing / auto-invoicing. I have clients that want an invoice each month to pay for the services I provide them. I'm still manually having to create and send these invoices each month. I would LOVE to see this work better and be a little more user friendly.

Initial contact was great. By the time I was paid up and committed, communication went downhill extremely quick. I made contact with management and project managers, appointments were set up, a day or two prior to the appointment I would receive an email that they apologized for scheduling conflicts and that they would reschedule within 48 hours. I emailed and tried to reschedule and no response. My recommendation is to explore other companies as I have now and am very happy with results and spending much less.

Pros

Did not have a chance that get to it. Management continuously cancelled appointments and did not call back to reschedule. After numerous attempts to reschedule by myself, I gave up.

Cons

Never had a chance to use it. Poor management and training.a

Reason for choosing Thryv

Sold on false promises. Bad decision on my part. If you are a small business with less than 5 employees like me, there are much better options out there rather that Thryv and costs are only $50.00 monthly rather that $350.00. Better results

It's been great! I recommend it to every small business owner that I come across. They built a very functional website that drives lots of business to me. This is well worth the investment.

Pros

Overall I love this software and all of its abilities. This is like anything you will get out of it what ever you put into it. I use this software all day everyday. I appreciate how more features are added without the cost going up. I feel like someone (Thryv) is really out to help small businesses manage their information and use it in a way to grow and better communicate with their customers.

Cons

The mobile version and table version sometimes are downright slow. I am on the road all day and rarely behind a computer. I would love to see improvements on the mobile and tablet app speed (When full bars at 4G or 2-4 bars of 5G). It's embarrassing to be in front of a customer and for it to take more than 1 minute for the app to load, and sometimes it takes much longer than that. I would like the ability to upload and edit pictures straight from the Thryv app, and not have to separately upload them from the gallery which takes too long.

### "All Glitter and No Substance"

We did not renew our contract with Thryv. Instead, we went with another company that specializes website design and marketing for businesses like mine. I checked them out on Yelp, Capterra and a couple other review sites. (I didn't do this when I signed up with Thryv and I should have.) I'm very satisfied with this new company so far. My involvement has been only to review and comment on their work. My recommendation to anyone looking for website and marketing assistance is to go with a company that specializes in working with your type of business and check out as many review sites as you can before making your decision.

Pros

Thryv is tied into the "Original" Yellow Pages. I liked the person who sold me the program as a package with my Yellow Pages advertising. All she knew about the program was what Thryv told her and if you've ever dealt with any high tech sales people, you know that their answer to any question about what the program can do is "yes", "sure", "you bet", "no problem", etc. Then when you deal with tech support that tell you that they have no idea what the salesperson was talking about. I believe that my YP sales person was simply telling me what the Thryv marketing people told her.

Cons

1\. Its a "one size fits all program". If you want something that is specifically for your type of business, you need to jerryrig the program yourself and to do that, you need an IT person. 2. I have a small business and we're busy. We do not have an IT department. We don't have a marketing department either. In order for the Thryv program to work, you need both unless you or one of your staff people wants to spend most of your day playing with the Thryv dashboard. 3. Initially, support was pretty bad, but to their credit, it has improved during the last year. 4. The website design is base on templates and lack any creativity whatsoever. It took them 6 months to correct all the spelling errors. Its up to you to make any changes to the website and they tell you its easy to do. It's not. See number 2 above. 5. Finally, during the last year, the Thryv program did not produce any noticeable increase in our business. Almost all of the calls and e-mails we got through our website were from other website developers and marketing groups telling us that they saw our website and they could do a better job.
