### "HIGH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR OFFICE PRACTICUM FROM AN EXPERIENCED USERtor/CEO"

October 2, 2025

5.0

OP has been a tremendous investment for our practice overall. Our providers get done seeing pts at 5pm and are out the door by 5:15pm most days. OP listens to its users and continually make changes to better their products based on what OP clients need and ask for. The license prices are very reasonable compared to other big software companies. The support is the best I have seen and experience over any other company I work with. Excellent follow up on issues, you always know where your ticket is and they respond quickly for urgent issues. The entire team at OP are very professional, courteous and usually able to answer our questions the same day, if not the next day. \[sensitive content hidden\] in their tech dept has been great to work with and follows up quickly on all outstanding issues. Working with \[sensitive content hidden\] has been amazing through the years as they meet with us monthly to ensure all of our issues are resolved and if not, what the status is. They review our KPI's and show us how we compare to other OP Peds practices and they keep us in the know for any new services that become available, updates on important issues that matter to us and they all have the experience and skills needed to assist with most questions. We are extremely pleased with our partnership with OP and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to change software vendors to a peds specific solution. We are always available to share one on one feedback as well if needed and have done many shadow visits with prospective OP users. Feel free to request a reference from \[sensitive content hidden\] antime and I will be happy to assist. Thank you OP for all you do to help us keep our workflows going and for offering such an excellent solution for EMR!

Pros

We appreciate that Office Practicum is Pediatric specific software. I have seen too many other software programs that charge you for all the features that adult primary care and specialists use. We like the dedicated attention to Peds everyday issues.

Cons

I did not like that they did not have a collection module for many years, however, I am very excited that they have finally built one and we are setting it up now and its going to be great to help our collection efforts.

### "A journey of trust and Innovation"

June 28, 2025

5.0

Over the past 18 years, my experience with this EMR has been positive and steadily evolving. As a pediatrician, I’ve found its pediatric-specific design to be invaluable, making everyday clinical tasks more streamlined and relevant to the care of children

Pros

EMR Review – 18 Years of Experience I’ve been using this EMR system for the past 18 years, and it continues to be a cornerstone of my pediatric practice. One of the standout qualities is that it was specifically designed for pediatrics, which makes a world of difference in day-to-day clinical workflows. The pediatric-specific features—from growth charts to immunization tracking—are seamlessly integrated and truly support the unique needs of our young patients. What’s even more exciting is seeing how the platform evolves. I really appreciate the new features being introduced, especially those that harness emerging technologies to streamline documentation, enhance communication, and improve patient care. Overall, this EMR has grown with my practice, and I look forward to the continued innovation that supports both providers and families.

Cons

While the company's ongoing innovation and growth are exciting and bring valuable new features, it's understandable that some issues may take a bit longer to resolve during these transitions. However, the overall direction and commitment to improvement remain clear and appreciated

### "Office Practicum has been invaluable for our development."

June 17, 2025

5.0

My practice is relatively new, but I have been working in pediatrics for many years. I used NextGen, Athena, and Epic. I consider myself fortunate because these electronic health records are all excellent; however, my favorite remains Office Practicum, which is dedicated to Pediatrics and follows very well what AAP recommends. The implementation of the system was very well-organized; it was entirely online, and the OP team was always on time and well-prepared on the subject matter. We didn't need an on-site visit. We have the RCM team from OP, and we meet regularly with them online. They have the same attitude: very organized, approachable, and efficient. We received certification as a Patient Centered Medical Home in March 2025, and using the OP system, we were able to generate the necessary reports. We appreciate that OP holds annual conference meetings, which we can attend. This allows us to meet with some of the OP staff, other private practice physicians, and staff who are using OP, learn from the OP conferences, and interact with other OP users. At these conferences, we gain a deeper understanding of OP's electronic health record, as well as the management of private practices. We have great admiration for the OP leadership, and I am thankful to God that I chose to utilize OP electronic health records. Nobody advised me to do it. I selected them after reading extensively about electronic health records, and I found that OP had everything I was looking for, which was later confirmed when I requested a demo. The person who presented the system was incredibly good at explaining it to me. I don't mention her name, because I don't want to leave the other OP members' team out. Office Practicum integrates well with Fl shot, as well as with pharmacies, and with my website, which Remedy Connect designs with our input. I also like Remedy Connect, which is under the OP umbrella. Ah! Now, Office Practicum also features Opie AI. With Opie AI, my life has become easier, and my consultation notes reflect my work better than ever. I can have a conversation in English, Spanish, or Spanglish with my patients, and the note generated by Opie AI will be perfect in English, excluding unnecessary words or subjects not related to medicine. This review is for Office Practicum, but Remedy Connect is now under Office Practicum. I learned about Remedy Connect before discovering Office Practicum, and I have the same feeling—no regrets with my selection. Again, I give thanks to God for both systems each day. I have patients from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, or Ukraine, for example, and because Remedy Connect has the option through Google Translate to switch to 246 languages. I could always refer my parents or teenage patients to the anticipatory guidance by age provided by the AAP in their preferred language. You can check at \[sensitive content hidden\]. If you are looking for an electronic health record, I hope my description helps you make an informed decision. Of course, do not expect everything to be perfect, but expect that if there is a problem, the OP team will work until they find the solution. Sincerely, Dr. Mylai Garofalo from Pediatric Dream Care.

Pros

We have had Office Practicum from the first day we opened our pediatric practice, Pediatric Dream Care, in Palm Springs, Florida. We love that OP is designed for pediatrics and has been invaluable for our development.

Cons

Unable to combine WCV templates notes with the sick visit templates notes, but that is not a big problem. I am managing to open another window with the sick visit template and copy and paste on the WCV with abnormal findings, but it requires extra clicks.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review, Dr. Garofalo! We’re glad to hear that our pediatric EHR has been a great fit for your practice, and that you’re seeing the benefits of both Opie AI, our new AI assistant for streamlined documentation, and RemedyConnect, our solution for patient engagement and practice marketing. We appreciate you sharing your positive experience so thoroughly. We did want to clarify one point you mentioned: OP does support combining well and sick visits within the same note. There’s no need to copy and paste between templates. Our system allows you to document both components in a single note and use the appropriate modifier when billing insurance to make sure you get paid for all of your work. We'll have a member of our team reach out to walk you through the workflow and answer any questions you might have. Thanks again for your feedback — and for being part of the OP community.

### "OP - Love it"

June 12, 2025

5.0

Our doctors love it. They expecially like the ability to prescribe control meds for ADHD electronically (patients love that as well). OP’s customer support is the best of any EMR that we have used. OP is our 3rd EMR and will be our last. They have helpful onboarding and interactive online training. They were very helpful during implementation and system transition. Runs Locally or in the cloud. We run OP in the cloud, but it can be run locally on a practice server. If you have more than one office, you are relying on your internet connection anyway for all ofices where you server is not located. We had local versions of EMRs before OP and that is why we chose the cloud version or OP. We felt they could protect patient data better than we could. In any case if you have multiple offices or are using the cloud version, you want an excellent internet provider and should probably consider having a back up provider in case your primary IP goes down as they all do from time to time.

Pros

Office Practicum (OP) is a great choice for pediatricians who want a tailored EMR that handles the nuances of child healthcare well. The pediatric functionality is hard to match, highlighted below. Pediatric-Focused OP offers tools specifically for pediatric care—age-based dosing calculators, Bright Futures templates, vaccine forecasting, and well-child visit tracking. These features reduce manual work and improve clinical accuracy for our providers. Immunization OP handles immunization schedules well, including state registry integration, catch-up scheduling, and alerts for upcoming or missed vaccines. We are in Georgia and OP is interfaced with the GRITS system to automatically upload vaccines given into our state registry. We have 3 offices and moving vaccines from one office to another, if necessary, is a simple process within OP. Growth Charts & Developmental Tracking: OP has CDC and WHO growth charts allowing for seamless tracking of height, weight, BMI, and head circumference over time, which is important for pediatric care. Practice Management: Billing, scheduling, and reporting are integrated with clinical operations. We use our previous software for billing before we switched to OP in 2017, so I cannot comment on the billing package. Customization & Templates: Our providers customize templates to reflect their documentation preferences. The well-visit templates are thorough, with pre-set guidance for age-appropriate screenings and anticipatory guidance. We also created templates for lab batches that providers can layer into other encounter templates when seeing patients so they don’t have to order each lab individually.

Cons

Some of their vendor partners have not lived up to our expectations. However, I do prefer them looking for ways to enhance the features and letting me determine if I like the outsourced vendors enough to employ the features.

### "We love OP!"

June 12, 2025

5.0

It has been great, from the initial transition up to currently as we continue to grow and learn. The support provided both when we have an issue and preventively is greatly appreciated. They are always coming up with new and improved ways to help us make our practice run smoothly and efficiently.

Pros

They go above and beyond during training and after with support. Issues are resolved quickly and they seem to truly want to help practices thrive.

Cons

So far (after 2.5 years) we don't have any, we switched from paper to OP as our first and hopefully last EHR system.

Reason for choosing Office Practicum

Being pediatric specific is what drew us in and then after seeing how much it would improve our practice, nothing else compared.

### "Perfect for those who are entranced with fussing with bells and whistles"

March 20, 2021

3.0

While my own program was 90% designed to be useful and friendly for me, and 10% useful for outsiders, I realized that OP was designed to be 1/3 useful to me, 1/3 useful to the bean counters, and 1/3 useful to lawyers and government statisticians., and consequently, it is simply not very user friendly. When there is a complex issue to be documented in the medical record, I elect not to try to use a template, but rather sit down at my desk and use Dragon Naturally Speaking to write a lengthy text note describing what is really important for my patient. I use a generic lab requisition for the several labs to which I may send patients, and I use the X-ray requisitions provided by the several radiology groups when I need imaging rather than trying to use the requisitions internal to OP. It is simpler and faster.

Pros

When I first purchased a license for an older version, I noted that the pediatrician/originator was married to the designer/programmer, and having engaged in an emr design process years earlier assumed that there would be a logical, fluid flow to the program. It was OK, but not close to what I had designed years before for myself. As I became more aware of the short-comings and complexity of an emr that would fulfill the fed's meaningful use criteria, I became frustrated. Well child templates for younger kids do work well, but data entry for anything not routine is cumbersome.

Cons

The program in its many subsequent iterations, tweaks and upgrades has become gratuitously complex and fussy with rather erratic logical flow, non-ergonomic positioning of buttons that could/should have been effectively arranged and color coded, unnecessary shifting of positions and redesigns of working fields and enough ongoing problems to require such frequent calls to OP help that we are now on a first name basis.

Reason for choosing Office Practicum

I assumed that a practicing pediatrician would design a logical system, but that was limited by the federal meaningful use strictures. Programmers now seem to be disconnected from users.

### "Well Thought Out EMR"

December 8, 2020

5.0

Overall, Office Practicum works great for our office. We have been able to streamline our clinical and office processes and actively engage our patients. This has resulted in increased visits to our office which definitely affects the bottom line. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] actively engages OP users and helps us with industry questions and updates to OP. The Managers ListServ has also been a wealth of information and finally OP has one of the best customer service teams I have worked with. They are knowledgeable, easy to reach and can resolve questions/solve problems in one contact. I enjoy working with this product, and know you will too!

Pros

This EMR is very user friendly and helped us streamline our work processes. The layout is very easy to navigate and like everything from the charting to the billing functions, including the clearinghouse and patient bill pay to the the referral process, the integrated lab and immunization registry capabilities and the ability to engage our patients/parents in their care via the Patient Portal. I also really like the vaccine management capabilities. This has helped us manage our vaccine inventory. I love the robust reporting capabilities and the ability to do appointment recalls. Everything is pretty seamless and helps us focus on patient care and engaging our patients.

Cons

The thing I liked least which I imagine is the case with most EMRs, is the inability to be able to communicate electronically with other providers who do not have a Direct e-mail address.

We have used OP for five years. I have never been this unhappy with any software. Customer service is nonexistent. There are never fixes to anything yet they continue to push upgrades that end up causing more problems. You pay for a product that does not work. This is the worst EMR I have ever used.

### "Horrible. You will Loose money!"

March 15, 2018

2.0

None. I really like VERY VERY little about this software.

Pros

I do like the fact that you can drag and drop an appointment on the scheduling screen. That is really about it.

Cons

I HATE the call center for your issues. They LITERALLY never know how to fix a thing. They will close a case without an actual answer. You will get a link to a description of what the report is. Not how to fix an issue. The amount of clicks it takes to get anything printed is absurd. The rx writing is absurd. Your nursing staff should be able to send a refill on a chronic med without an issue but this system makes it impossible. They have LOTS of glitches that they NEVER know how it happened or how to fix it. They will say " well we need to see your work flow to recreate the problem". Its a glitch you can't recreate it. The owner is extremely rude and hard to deal with. We have had this system for 6 months and are still not seeing a good number of patients. The billing portion of this system is a complete nightmare. They have sooooo many places to look for charges and so many reports that are all completely different with completely different information on them that should overlap. I can't warn you enough to STAY AWAY!

### "IT WAS GOOD IN THE PAST BUT NOT ANYMORE! "

January 10, 2020

3.0

As I said, it is not good anymore. I was one of their clients that loved their software, but lately, in the past 2 years or so, they dropped the ball. It's not time to buy OP. Wait until they get their act together and go back to do a good job the way it was in the past.

Pros

It was good in the past, not anymore. It was the only EMR tailored to Pediatrics at the time. Now there are more options, and you should look into the other options. Their quality went way down.

Cons

They just launched the most horrible patient portal, and we have to use both portal, the old and the new, in order to comply with meaningful use Stage 3! And guess what? They can't migrate the patients from the old portal to the new portal, so EVERY SINGLE patient has to re-register in the new portal! The nightmare is for real. Their support now is really bad! It was really good in the past. It's a shame!!!

### "RUN, DON’t Walk!! Look elsewhere for an EMR!"

March 9, 2021

2.0

Awful!! Implementation was difficult. There was a lot of work we had to do after hours to get up & running. We currently cannot find anyone at OP who is able to help our current billing situation. Many have tried but cannot find a solution. The system is glitchy. It will often shutdown or put go into an endless loop.

Pros

We switched from Greenway to Office Practicum 11 months ago. THE only thing I like about this product is the integrated vaccine inventory management. But even that has some glitches.

Cons

The PM side is not functional. We accept Medicaid & 2° insurance & this system cannot handle payments we receive from Medicaid. The aging report is useless. No integrated fax solution. Reports are not intuitive & difficult to figure out.

### "OP review"

October 19, 2018

Overall, my second favorite EMR system in all of my clinics. It's a little dated, but still easy to use.

Pros

I use OP for one of my clinics. It's somewhat dated and not the easiest to use, but it's more tolerable than some of the older software. The patient chart is organized into logical categories, just like Epic - Medications section where you fill out prescriptions, Allergies, etc. Billing is a breeze.

Cons

I would personally have combined the Allergies, PMH, and Problems section together so there's less clicks. Like all EMRs, there's a lot of unnecessary clicking involved, but it's not too bad.

We have been using OP for almost 4 years and we are very happy with it. We did a lot of research before we chose OP and we are glad we chose this product. OP is very "user" friendly for pediatricians; whereas, the other products out there were not. This made the transition for paper charts to EMR a much smoother process than we anticipated. No regrets!!!

Pros

Ease of use. Support at OP is fabulous...very quick to respond and solve issues.

Cons

Not happy with the speed of retrieving messages. wish it were quicker. Not sure if this is just our system or a glitch with OP. OP is looking into it.

The pre training was great!

Pros

IT is extremely pediatric friendly, There is a lot of good support. There is a support staff that you can reach through telephone, email or chat along with a list serve with a lo of other offices to so how every one does things or is there is an easier way then what you are doing. The software is very user friendly and the report modules are great. We have not even used all that is available such as the MU product and the Portal which I have heard are good too. Yesaly conferences are a great way to meet others on the program and have great classes to pick up new ideas and learn of changes.

Cons

Billing reports were a little harder to get used to. Our billing person has no problem but did take a little training.

Pros

Customizable to your practice. Easy to train new employees. User friendly by our large office no matter their computer experience.

Cons

Printing is sometimes a hassle due to process of it sending to a webpage. Sometimes the report building isn’t as easy as it could be.

### "Far and Away the BEST EHR for Pediatrics"

4.5

Pros

The product itself is incredible. I have been using it for over 11 years and am still thrilled with it! The updates are quick and the support is extremely helpful. As it is a Pediatric specific EHR, it is ALWAYS up to date with all the latest recommendations. I absolutely LOVE it!

Cons

Not really a criticism of Connexin software specifically, but I was used to the way things were when I first purchased it, You pay for the software, and get everything. Not a huge fan of now having to pay extra for all the additional "modules" but this is the way ALL software companies seem to be now.
