Pros: Our support team is great. The software works with very little issues. It allows us to track our workflow through the various modules.

Cons: The reporting is very weak without purchasing extra modules. Everything costs a lot of money to add on and the yearly maintenance contract is very expensive.

Pros: We have been using SAGE for a very long time. The reports that you can print out on a daily basis give much needed detailed information.

Cons: This version is outdated and there are a lot of unnecessary reports and other options that come with it.

Comments: Please consider a different ERP system before implementing Sage 100 ERP. It's not very good.

Pros: This software is OK for accounting. And that is about it. Any additional modules or functionality (you are buying this as an ERP, not just Quickbooks software) has an additional cost.

Cons: Very difficult to administrate. Online help is next to nothing. Proprietary database (ProvideX). Sage Support is very expensive and more often than not they will tell you that they can't help with your problem and you need to talk to your Sage consultant.. Upgrading software can be quite complex if you have any customizations. Next to no innovation in the software. I recently did a version 2014 to version 2017 upgrade (they have new versions every year). The biggest feature upgrade in those 3 years? You can now resize the window and have the text "somewhat" scale. Wow, just wow.

Pros: Sage 100 is an awesome way to manage receivables, payables, payroll and inventory management. The customization modules help set up the software to fit your specific needs. I love the paperless office capabilities and the fact that I can pull up my reports within seconds.

Cons: My biggest issue is that it is not the most user friendly, in comparison to other similar software, I used in the past. It does take some time to become familiar with the products and the constant updating.

Pros: Out of the box Sage 100 without customization is powerful for those who are needing little beyond what the application offers. There is also endless possibilities for custom reporting.

Cons: Our company is very specialized and almost everything we needed was eventually customized. The problem is if those modules aren't available they have to be built and can be extremely expensive! Crystal Reoprts are also not intuitive

Overall: Eventually we had to abandon the software

Pros: The SQL version is great because you have access to all the data which you can make custom reports and applications from it.

Cons: Very expensive and price keeps going up. when you have time invested in the product it's hard to switch. They know that and that is why they keep raising the price.

Comments: We are a mid size property management company located on the Northshore of Massachusetts. Our condominium client list is a composition of business and residential complexes. The Sage product gives us the flexibility to manage the day to day account activity, along with the accountability and flexibility to oversee the billing aspects which occur as a result of the various service request we receive daily. Our staff consist of management professions, account and billing personnel. Everyone in our organization has exposure to the Sage product even our administrative staff, who are often required to utilize the Sage product to verify client billing and invoices. It is a simple yet effective accounting and administrative product that works well for a company of our size.

Pros: Effective, yet simple to understand and utilize

Cons: Doesn't have the fancy looking categories. It's just plain and simple

Comments: Like most accounting products, it was the product I inherited with the position at the company I joined. I have been using it for 10 years and during this time I have found the software is lacking in functionality. Not enough to warrant a change but enough to not recommend it to anyone that requires the basic modules to run a set of accounting books.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: The GL is not linked to the bank rec module. The fact that you need to buy a separate bank rec module is poor. The lack of ability to edit posted entries.

Comments: There are better products out there. Having to add on modules to get the system to have what you need adds up quick. The system is behind the times as far as technology. Support is weak. A reseller should know their customers well enough to let them know when a new feature comes out that could apply to their business.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you find a good reseller that will give a lot of support and instruction and will make sure they keep you up-to-date on features.

Comments: I work in the manufacturing industry, specifically a foundry in Chicago. Several factors bias my experience with MAS90/Sage 100. I was introduced to the software with no training or reference guide because the woman before me left suddenly and without any documentation. In a certain perspective that speaks well of this product in that simply by internet research and experimentation, as well as a few call to our highly paid "Sage" support line, I have been able to work with the system adequately. I would love to upgrade to a new version of this Sage product and imagine that it is very likely a much cleaner and straight forward operating system For instance, the difference between reversing a check and simply reversing the G/L transaction are two different procedures and a third procedure to void a check that has never been issued is a different procedure entirely from voiding a check that you have placed a stop payment on. In a sense, these five distinctions would be ideal for a precise audit trail if the procedures themselves were not extremely complex and vague to distinguish. The General Leger reports are clear and are in themselves user friendly in offering the opportunity to easily make accrued and adjusting entries. I would certainly encourage anyone to investigate the newer versions of Sage in consideration of their industry specific needs. We have not created a direct interface between our receivables data base "Exact" directly into MAS 90 due to the particular need to maintain specific Alloy/Customer information and our small company simply lacks the time and technical understanding to do so. Again my situation is severely biased due to my particular circumstances and I believe a newer version of Sage may very likely be an excellent ERP.

Pros: If I can figure out a highly antiquated version of their product without internal direction and assistance, I suspect the newer versions of Sage can only be fat superior.

Cons: A complete mire of ambiguity when it comes to the Accounts Payable component in this ancient version by Sage:MAS 90

Recommendations to other buyers: Look in to the current versions of SAGE. I have high hopes that a current versions may prove exceptional if they are appropriate to your industry needs.

Comments: This software would be great for a small sales company but we have overgrown its usefulness. Good ERP for the money.

Pros: Fast and useful information at your fingertips. Easy to navigate and makes training a breeze.

Cons: I have more international companies that use KG over LBS, I wish the software had a live converting or sliding weight conversion for inventory and sales orders.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would say add a manufacturing add-on but they do offer it for a price.

Comments: We use Sage 100 primarily for GL, AR, and AP. The software is full featured and high powered. The modules interface seamlessly. Sage offers multiple methods for importing transactions. Critical for effective use of the software and reporting functionality is IT support which is familiar with the program. We use an outside vendor - we do not interact with Sage directly, nor do we know what types of options may be available directly through the software publisher.

Pros: Long list of features, modules interface seamlessly.

Cons: Must have competent support internally or externally in order to get the best use of the program.

Pros: For accounting this software is intuitive. It is easy to use and has a lot of sophisticated features.

Cons: It isn't optimized for a lot of qualitative data. It will take an external module or upgraded more expensive version.

Overall: I used to use Sage 100 back in the day when it was Peachtree. It's since been renamed to Sage 100 and had a modern refresh. Sage 100 is recommended for businesses with revenue around $50 million. It is considered ERP - enterprise resource planning, but I'm familiar with the accounting aspect of it.

Recommendations to other buyers: Strongly recommended for small and medium sized businesses.

Comments: i have used a variety of ERP software packages in my career, including Quickbooks and Microft Dynmaics' Navision, and Sage 100 provides a full feaured ERP package at an affordable price. Cost's per user for a month's subscription for the Essentials core accounting package (GL, AP, AR, Bank Reconciliation) and a little more for the Advanced Bundle (Essentials plus Inventory, Purchasing, and Sales Order), and more for the Complete Bundle (Essentials plus Bar Code, Return Materials Authorization, and Bill of Materials). For manufacturing, you can add the Complete Plus Bundle (Work Order, MRP, Job Cost, and Time Card). There are additional add-on modules such as Paryoll with Direct Deposit, 100c Manufacturing (formerly JobOps), CRM, Sage Intelligence Reporting, and eBusiness Web Services. Each package includes Library Master, Business Insights (Drill Down Inquiry, Reporting, and Dashboard), Paperless Office, Custom Office (to create User Defined Fields and customized screens), Visual Integrator (to Export and Import data to/from Excel and Sage), and Crystal Reports. The Windows Explorer type menus make navigation easy, and the workflow follows the menus. Sage 100 is designed for 1 to 50 users, and supported the creation of multiple business entities or companies. The software has many configuration options, and can be tailored to the company's use, so because it is flexible there is also a learning curve due to its sophistication. Sage has been the number one accounting software recommended by CPA's for many years.

Pros: Affordable, flexible, stable data base, excellent module integration.

Cons: Does not have a Point of Sale option, or a full featured Web Store, or user friendly API tool.

Recommendations to other buyers: Choose your Sage Partner carefully, it can make or break your experience in Implementation, on-going support, upgrades, and continued professional services.

Comments: This software is a good choice for small to medium non-for-profit organizations and companies.

Pros: The feature of "Option field" is very useful to track the revenue and expenses for project accounting. The feature of "Office" is very useful to track the profit for each department. It is affordable for the small and medium size organizations.

Cons: As it changed a lot of from prior version, there should be more training to be provided for the users.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is a good choice, although it is as famous as other software such as Quickbook and so on.

Comments: Sage is a powerful and flexible tool which can be used to manage the day to day accounting as well as in the maintenance of payroll records of the company. The multiple modules provided in the program increase its potential to be a multi-faceted software being able to handle most of the data centrally. Sage software offers many mobile cloud-based apps that leverage the data in the system to better manage sales, inventory, credit cards, service, billing, and payments.

Pros: 1. Good for reporting results. 2. Very well structured general ledger module.

Cons: 1. Export functionality to excel and scheduler do not work sometimes. 2. Tech support is limited. 3. Does not integrate well with eCommerce as entries have to be made manually. 4. Difficult to handle duplicate data.

Recommendations to other buyers: Can be used for a lot of functions, so overall cost to benefit ratio is on the beneficial side.

Comments: We use it as a tool for logging time in the projects in our organization. It is a simple software with varied functionality as the data can be retrieved from its database in a number of forms and can be used for analyzing performance and other parameters. Apart from that, it is sometimes used in the project costing where it helps in significantly reducing the time required for finalizing the project costs at the end of the project as compared to other software tools.

Pros: 1. It is a flexible software and can be used in engineering, IT, consulting and management related businesses without trouble as it can be altered according to the needs of the client. 2. The data entry is simple and logical. 3. It can be used on both windows and SQL server.

Cons: 1. Sometimes have to enter negative values in data entry form into order to delete the unwanted entry. 2. Turns out to be a little slow when a large number of projects are saved and takes a bit of time to load the information. 3. The License is a tad expensive and customer support is payable on top of the license cost.

Recommendations to other buyers: It can be used by small businesses as well and you can modify it as per the needs. It is a great package overall.

Comments: Sage 100 has multiple business modules which are not too difficult to learn and also the initial setup is not too cumbersome. It can be used to manage account payables, printing checks and for running the payroll. Creating the database takes a little bit of time but all the information is readily available at one location and is easily accessible. It has the ability to generate a large variety of reports and also customizable options make it a good one-stop solution.

Pros: 1. Easy to operate, no specialized training required. 2. Easy to make changes in the data.

Cons: 1. It is a little hard to get the support from customer service for the requests logged on but not too much of an issue.' 2. The number of steps for data recording can possibly be reduced in order to be even more user-friendly. 3. The newer versions of the program have a few bugs initially but they are resolved in the following versions.

Recommendations to other buyers: Highly recommended for day to day ERP solutions in organizations. It is a hassle free software.

Pros: Sage is easy to use for the most part, and there are resources within the program if something doesn't make sense.

Cons: There are a lot of small things that shouldn't be necessary but are. For instance, to post an invoice, there are two steps where there really should only be one. If the second is forgotten, the GL does not show the invoice.

Recommendations to other buyers: Be sure to shop around. Nothing is perfect, but it is probably better to go for a more robust system with more customization for anything more than a small business.

Cons: The product is very basic in terms of set up. I functions through files with little user interface.

Recommendations to other buyers: Establish a better dashboard and provide more access to charts.

Pros: Flexible and powerful. Has many of the bells and whistles of more expensive systems. Scalable - modular design allows us to add functionality as needed. Easy to use and easy to train new users.

Cons: Export to Excel does not always work very well Scheduler does not work well at all much manual manipulation JobOps does not handle UOM conversion very well Multiple shipto's Under one Customer bill to

Recommendations to other buyers: It is best for a small to midsized manufacturer. Even though realtively easy to use, unless you are very savvy, I would suggest having installed by a knowledgeable reseller.

Pros: I have been using this product for close to a year. It was very easy to learn and self-teach when necessary. The drill down and source features are a valuable tool when tracing transactions. This is the best and most user friendly software I have used in my career. The chat feature has been useful when I am not able to find a solution myself.

Cons: I don't have any major complaints about this product. The ability to split payroll checks between direct deposit and a paper check would be useful, but the other features of this product far outweigh any minor oversights.

Recommendations to other buyers: I mainly use the Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Payroll modules of this software. However, it is very easy for me to find source data and other reports in the Project Management module or any other details as needed.

Pros: Sage 100 is very user-friendly, is easily and quickly learned, and is very robust. Add-on modules allow it to expand with your business.

Cons: The only downsides are the same with every piece of software on the market - yearly updates makes it a bit pricey to ensure you're on the latest version, and support is (mostly) provided by 3rd-party value-added consultants.

Recommendations to other buyers: MAS 100 is a few steps above QuickBooks and the like, and not quite as robust as MAS 500 or SAP or any of the top-tier softwares. If you're looking for something that can handle a large of amount of transactions while taking up only a relatively small footprint on your accounting server, MAS 100 is for you!

Pros: Sage 100 ERP is an excellent accounting software to use. The description field for GL entry can capture up to 2,000 characters and it doesn't get cut off like other accounting softwares. You can easily run a detailed GL report to get all the information you need without pulling the invoices to see. This is also good for handling large volume of data with system generated journal entry numbers.

Cons: There are improvements that can be made. For example, there should be a separate invoice number field and separate field for period posting. For example, if I want to post a January invoice in period 4, I should be able to do it instead of letting the date be the driver of which period it gets posted to. Also a separate field for department code instead of linking GL account and department code as a GL account. I would like to run GL Detail report by department codes.

Recommendations to other buyers: To make sure you want to have a "structured" accounting software. You need to have a clear vision of how you want your financials to look like and how you are presenting to management or owner of the company. If you are a small mom & pop company and looking for something intuitive or idiot proof for accounting, this is too sophisticated and complex. It's an excellent software for a small(with potential growth) and medium size companies.

Pros: I like the product and it does get the job done. However, I am very disappointed that there is no written or pdf owners manual. There are help screens which work only if you know what to ask. It would be very nice to get an owners manual that stated the various options and "why" you might choose one method vs. another. I constantly find myself wondering if there is a better way.

Cons: No owners manual. Only information available is thru help screens or Sage classes.

Recommendations to other buyers: Shop around. This product is very expensive. I pay $10k per year and probably don't fully utilize the software because I don't have time to go to Sage School and there is no owners manual.

Pros: MAS 90 was easy to use and rather flexible with its hardware requirements.

Cons: Sage100 requires a server, whereas MAS 90 did not. Since we operate on a peer to peer network, it would require a major change for us to upgrade. Second, they really play hardball with their maintenance plans. If you skip a year or two trying to save money, they will make you pay all those years back if you try to re-enroll in a plan.

Recommendations to other buyers: Check hardware requirements, and the service after the sale.

Pros: The internal accounting review is very helpful and catches the smallest errors.

Cons: If I don't log out at night, the system date won't automatically update the next day.

Recommendations to other buyers: I've called customer support twice, and I've never been put on hold because the representative didn't know the answer. For example, my general ledger column wasn't showing up when I was billing. They always know how to fix a problem, unlike QuickBooks' support.

Cons: It takes three times the work to process an order compared to Sage50.

Comments: My company has been using Sage MAS 90 for over ten years. I was not involved in the choosing of this software upgrade (we had used Quickbooks prior) but have been quite satisfied with the product for all my tasks, which include invoicing, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Sage has always been responsive to any issues or support we have requested. A few months ago we upgraded to Version 4.4 and it went very smoothly. I especially like the new paperless option eliminating the need to print every entry/process.

Comments: We use Sage MAS 90. We have been using this system since 2006, and we have been very pleased with the system. We recently upgraded the software and this was a very smooth process. We utilize the custom reports and are very pleased. This is the only module that I have found to be complicated to use. It is a great product once you figure it out. The customer support was very helpful when we needed it. We very rarely even need the support, but when we do use it our problems are always resolved quickly.

Comments: We are a magazine publishing company with some books. We publish 11 magazines bimonthly, and we have two joint venture companies. This makes bookkeeping very interesting and complicated. We have used Peachtree for years but outgrew what it could do as far as reports, etc. So, we began looking for other options. We started with MAS 90 and have now gone to MAS 200. We were very satisfied with implementation. All of the reps that work for L. Kianoff are very easy to work with. They have been most helpful with any questions and changes that we needed. We are able to pull the reports we need from MAS 200. If the report is not available, the customer service reps are ready to help us and write a report that we need. We have been very satisfied.
