### "Good option if you do not want the subcription model."

June 10, 2020

5.0

Storyline has made my team process of converting courses from Flash to HTML5 a dream. We have been able to not only make this fix but elevate the quality of our training.

Pros

This is a great option if your team does not have the budget to pay for software yearly. Same great product at a one-time price.

Cons

The non-subscription method does not get updates as quickly as the subscription option so there will be times that you are not using the latest and greatest software.

### "Great suite of tools for enterprise level eLearning development"

April 19, 2021

5.0

Pros

What I really like is how the suite of programs in 360 supports varying levels of user expertise and needs. In particular, I love the new platform Rise for it's extremely intuitive interface and clean design. This is a great tool for non instructional designers or for those just getting into ID. Additionally, I appreciate the infinite flexibility and complexity that is offered by Storyline. For someone with years of expertise, Storyline can help you design just about any type of learning you are trying to implement.

Cons

While I like some of the newer tools like Replay and Peek I have found them to be a bit buggy.

Alternatives considered

[Adobe Captivate](https://www.capterra.com/p/227148/Adobe-Captivate/)

Reason for choosing Articulate 360

Articulate had more product offerings in it's suite and a more intuitive UI.

### "A 360 Review for Articulate"

May 29, 2019

5.0

My overall experience is that I look like a Rockstar and Articulate makes it so easy. That is due in large to their overall service through the community and training.

Pros

The free trial sets people up for success. If you choose to use the trial, you start to receive email notices from Articulate gurus offering assistance and tips. So, immediately you are introduced to the community. The community of e-learning first-timers to pros offers a great security blanket, helping you realize you are not alone! The product itself offers several options for creating learning for everyone. From a "powerpoint" look-a-like with Storyline to Rise which offers authors a quick way to create responsive learning to screen recording and a lot more.

Cons

There is nothing I do not like about this software.

### "An all-encompassing learning creation platform!"

October 15, 2018

5.0

The best e-learning development platform on the market, and I've used Captivate and Lectora.

Pros

Articulate 360's suite of learning authoring tools are best-in-class and allow for the creation of truly impactful learning programs. Storyline 360, included in the suite, is the industry-standard for creating e-learning and the program is created in such a way that one is only limited by their imagination.

Cons

I am not a fan of the subscription model for software. Sometimes, I may go months without a paid gig as a freelancer, but in order to stay up to date, I need to opt for this rather expensive software.

### "Great software for authoring learning content"

May 16, 2022

5.0

Great software to use as a company is transitioning from live presentations to e-learning.

Pros

It is very easy to take an existing PowerPoint presentation and create a course.

Cons

The software's distinct flaws and workarounds were the "standard" practice.

Reason for choosing Articulate 360

Cost and ease of use.

### "I have used Storyline for around four years now and have been very pleased with it. "

November 7, 2017

5.0

It was incredibly easy to start using and has a large support system to help you as you progress.

Pros

I love the ease and layout of Articulate, as anyone who has used powerpoint can easily adapt to the overall screen layout. Articulate can be as basic or as complex as you want to make it and so is a great opening tool for anyone looking to start in E-Learning development. The forums and customer support have been the big difference compared to Captivate.

Cons

The fact that there are numerous versions of Storyline at the moment does make it a bit puzzling for anyone who is new to the industry.

### "Great software to create e-learning modules"

October 2, 2020

4.0

Great software to create e-learning but to bad about some limitations.

Pros

I use this software to create e-learning modules for my students. I like the ease of use and the simple way things work. It is possible to create very complex modules and a beginner or someone not making a living from it; it can be used. Of course, you need other software/services to distribute the modules. The modules contain tests, audio, video, written text, and interactivity. I like the fact that it is offline because I can use it anywhere (often I do not have fast internet when traveling). Also, paying for the perpetual software in one go is a relief because paying a monthly fee is eventually much more expensive.

Cons

The inability to batch convert projects is a real bummer. You have to open each project file one by one and convert it. I do not understand why this has not been implemented yet. Another thing I do not like is the restrictions regarding tests. Tests can only contain 400 questions. It does seem enough, but in our school, we often have larger batches of questions of which randomly are selected a number of questions. The final problem is that support is generally not very helpful, and you need to figure out a lot by yourself. That is based on two experiences; however, both were quite bad.

Very good - Customer success team have been very interactive and helpful

Pros

The user friendly interface is great for getting up and running quickly. There is a wide range of templates available to sense check against and get ideas from. The regular e-shot learning tips are super helpful and give us lots of ideas

Cons

Sometimes the restriction on the size of media files has been something we needed to navigate as we oftent have longer video content which exceeds the allowed file size.

Articulate 360 is an E-learning system that gives course developers all the essentials tools to create courses that increase engagement for their target audience. They have a huge collection of images that make the courses look very creative.

Pros

The platform is easy to use and it’s a great overall authoring solution.

### "The world of teaching has radically changed"

June 28, 2018

5.0

Pros

This program is a marvel with an incredibly big potential for Elearning since it has the possibility of adding any audiovisual resource necessary for teaching, I also evaluate all the contents that are being worked on, and the best thing is that I have several evaluation instruments that It gives me the tool is for them that something unique.

Cons

In the time that I have been working with her, I allow myself to follow the progress of the students, see their work and how they have progressed with the subject. It is for them that until now I like everything about the program. The only necessary thing is a team that has good benefits because if it is not a bit slow but it works equally.

### "Great generalist product"

November 20, 2019

5.0

I have used it for years for all of my clients and it still covers most, if not all of their needs. Use it in cunjunction with a good understanding of javascript, xapi and css and you have an amazing little tool.

Pros

Storyline is the easiest to use yet most complete e-learning software that I use and recommend to my clients. It is very straightforward and most functionnalities that you would need in an e-learning modules are there.

Cons

The cost is pretty steep for the desktop version. So for companies that aren't cloud friendly yet, you have to buy, manage and attribute licenses.

### "Articulate beats Captivate"

December 6, 2022

5.0

Pros

Storyline is very easy to use and to get up to speed on. Software runs very quickly and is very reliable. Also love the connection to Rise and Review. Makes building a course simple and even fun!

Cons

Only con is that building a template works a little wonky. Works best to build a Storyline course and import that course when starting new eLearning.

### "Pricey, but worth it."

January 8, 2019

4.0

We moved over to the 360 version of Storyline due to the desired awesome features that just weren't there if you don't subscribe. Previously, we'd used Storyline 2. All in all, it's a great group of softwares. Yeah, it's not cheap. Yeah, you'll need to invest time into learning it all. Thing is, you can create interactive training super quickly using Rise and you can take that training to the next level by learning some Storyline stuff. Co-workers can check out your stuff and review your work using Review. End story...if you're creating interactive training and all that, it's hard to deny the value of these products.

Pros

\- Lots of items for the subscription charge - Rise and Preview are great! - Updates frequent and substantial

Cons

\- It's pricey and it's a dang subscription - Learning curve on Storyline is kinda steep

### "Great Product"

July 29, 2021

Overall i have had a positive experience, except sometimes updates can cause technical issues in courses you are currently building and their customer service is not very helpful in times like those.

Pros

Articulate are one of the few on the market and blow the others away. There are technical issues from time to time, and their Customer Service is notoriously bad, but overall i would recommend this to anyone building eLearning coures

Cons

Customer service is the worst around. They are notoriously bad

Cons

### "Articulate 360 - Every an e-learning developer needs"

March 15, 2017

5.0

Articulate 360 is a suite of e-learning products every e-learning developer should have. We know how great and popular Storyline is, and now Storyline 360 is even better. Add to that the new Content Library, Rise and Review, among others, and you're set! Beginners can create great looking e-learning literally in minutes, while it's powerful enough for advanced users to create complex pieces. Rise, the new fully responsive authoring tool, is a breeze to use and produces stunning, responsive results. Best of all, with the new subscription model users get fixes, updates and new features super regularly. I've managed to reduce my operating costs too. I no longer need an expensive subscription to a reviewing service because Articulate Review is included in the suite and does an awesome job. Easy to upload and share, great version control and commenting functions. I have cancelled 3 other subscriptions: 2 for images and 1 for videos because I can now get all the assets I need in Content Library. Overall, I would highly recommend this software to beginner and advanced e-learning developers alike. Highly satisfied.

Pros

Ease of use and power. Range of tools to do all the jobs I need. Subscription model with frequent updates.

Cons

Would like to see an option to pay for a subscription monthly, with a discount for annual payments.

### "Have built my career on this product, great but wish it was less buggy"

May 10, 2018

4.0

Pros

This product changed the industry, and change my career from a teacher to an eLearning professional. It is based on Microsoft and easy to use, and able to deliver effective content.

Cons

It is always and has been buggy, I have to allocate the same number of troubleshooting hours as I do development because of issues,. We have to test and test and test each course because of the bugs. Sometimes I do not upgrade the program when I have a version that is stable and does not crash or cause course issues.

### "Articulate 360 - Easy to Use"

June 11, 2020

4.0

Overall, Articulate 360 has been a pretty great product that is helping us reach our eLearning goals.

Pros

Articulate 360 feels like PowerPoint in its user interface and is very intuitive and easy to use. You can put together very smart-looking eLearning very quickly. There is a lot of common functionality built in so you don't have to build from the ground up every time like you do with Adobe Captivate. There's also a very large library of imaging which helps when you need to build quickly. The online support community for Articulate can't be beat. They are there to not only help when you have a problem, but they encourage you to grow as a designer.

Cons

I feel like there are hot keys missing. I wish there was a hotkey to add a text entry field or a hot spot. I also want to be able to move items around the screen one pixel at a time with my mouse rather than having to use CNTRL and SHIFT. The interface feels a lot like PowerPoint to me so while it's easy to use, it's not really very interesting visually, which can matter when you are trying to explain to an executive or stakeholder that building eLearning is a lot more complicated than just building in PowerPoint. The triggers are also a little confusing.

### "Robust Software"

April 27, 2021

4.0

Overall, this is a very important software and interface. I enjoy using this when it works, but when there's a hiccup, it can take so long to find a solution and move forward. I'm looking forward to future updates/upgrades.

Pros

If you can think of it, it is likely able to be done with Articulate Storyline and managed via Articulate 360. Using this as a step off point and as a hub for upgrades and updates is huge. I'm able to see, at a glance, the status of the products that I use.

Cons

The Articulate Storyline product within 360, while robust, is not so user friendly. If you can think of how to create an interaction, there's likely a solution. Getting to that solution is not so easy. There have been improvements in this process, but it would be great to have a guidance system where you can type in some keywords on what you're trying to accomplish and be presented with options on solving the issues.

### "Great elearning authoring tool"

December 13, 2019

4.0

Its a great way to develop interactive and robust eLearning courses in a a short space of time, especially with all the templates to draw from.

Pros

It is extremely easy to use and very intuitive. I 've created a few interactive modules using the software. The content library of high resolution images adds to the quality of the output.

Cons

There was just one issue that came up when capturing my screen and doing simulations. When viewing the published version of the content it blurs when interactions happen on screen. Its also seems to be having some issue specifically with the Chrome browser. These issues have been logged and hopefully in the most recent update it will be sorted.

### "Training Creation Made Easy"

June 30, 2020

5.0

We have used Articulate for years and when 360 came out it was the best of everything put together from Articulate. When I trained my team to use it, they caught on very quick and started to put together training's that looked and felt so much better than courses I've created before and I believe its the way the program works as its so easy to put a course together and make it look professional and clean.

Pros

I love the way you can easily customize a training course to your liking. There is so many plug and play features that go well with any topic or subject and all you need is a little creativity to put a training course together. I also love how all of there products are synced together so you can make one course seamlessly using all of its components. We use videos a lot and adding videos is so easy.

Cons

I don't like how you have to pay per subscriber. For the amount it should be open for an entire training team to use.

### "Articulate 360 - Great tool! But take advantage of videos/books to learn the functionality."

June 11, 2021

4.0

In addition to creating e-courses, I was able to use 360 to troubleshoot and fix existing classes created by internal/external vendors.

Pros

Once you get used to/comfortable with Articulate 360, the process to create an e-course becomes simple. Very easy to upload and use PowerPoint as the template for e-courses.

Cons

It's not an easy software to learn. I attended several training courses with experts to learn how to use 360.

Reason for choosing Articulate 360

A few years ago, 360 was at the top of e-course development tool, while PowerPoint was simply used for presentations. However, Microsoft is starting to catch up and contain many tools within 360 at a fraction of the cost.

In general the use of Articulate 360 makes our live so easy when it comes to course authoring. We can build courses within hours, they Look great and on top of that are also responsive designed, so we can roll them out on any device.

Pros

Mostly we are using Articulate Rise because it is so easy to use and the courses look great. Rise can be used by almost everybody without any IT- or Design-knowledge.It‘s great that you can integrate interactive elements in form of drag and drop. For more complex courses Articulate storyline gives us the chance to fullfill almost every wish of our clients. You can export the courses in the most used elearning standards like SCORM or TinCan which is the base for importing in common LMS.

Cons

I can‘t find any negative on this tool.It would be great to have the possibility to save personalized templates, but I think this is planned for the future.

### "Great for Beginners"

April 8, 2019

3.0

Pros

It's really easy to use for people getting started with eLearning/course development. Very prevalent in most large organizations. Templates are easy to design.

Cons

After the launch of 360, you cannot purchase character packages any longer - feels like a way to strong-arm people into investing in the 360 version. Native application functionality as far as designing courses for learners with physical disabilities can be a challenge when trying to adhere to AA and AAA standards.
