Cons The setup process was the least favourite part, as it takes a lot of time and effort, but it will be worth it... But the fact that you are very well organized with your excel sheets etc. did make this easy. Complexity exists because the software is very flexible to your business. It takes sometime to get familiar, but that’s part of what makes it so powerful. Pros HQ software is specifically made for car rental. I was using Checkfront and I was happy, but the additional features on HQ were critical. I was using a workaround to document mileage, inspection photos, etc.. With HQ, all of that critical info is part of the standard process and it’s documented on the contract. The app is great and streamlines the pick up/return process. Cons Additional percentage fee for using Stripe.No option for people to purchase gift certificates. Probably not used for most rental companies, but I need it for exotic rentals being purchased as gifts. Pros The whole process is now automated for us, previously we were all manual. It worked out perfectly for us as it is easy to use and access thru the app for our agents delivering vehicles to resorts/hotels. bookings can be amended and changed with ease. Very versatile software. Cons We weren't able to add a payment gateway being a Pacific Island. Some of the functions are not available on the app. Very minor. Due to the COVID-19 effect, we had to reinvent ourselves, and thanks to HQ we were able to integrate new process as well to cut costs (beyond the software costs) by using their reporting and integration tools. Their software allowed us to optimize our resources and to identify problems faster than any other software that we ha used in the past. Without them, I am not sure that we could have gone through 2020, and all of it at a very reasonable price. I recommend everyone to try them, you will not regret it. Pros Very strong back end that has helped us to get a much better grip/control/view and understanding of our fleet performance and effectiveness. Very easy to use and implement. Their team is always open to adapt to our needs and not the other way around. All of this at a very reasonable price. We feel lucky that we found them. Cons Some it takes a little long to get an answer with problems, however, I see this as an easy fix. I think HQ rental is the industry standard. It works, and it works great. Cons HQ Rental has a lot of knobs that you can adjust, and you don't always know what every option does. Some options are explained in the knowledge base, others aren't. It could use like a big guide to explain the software in detail. Pros has all of the features that our business needs as a car rental company and is highly configurable to cater to our exact needs. Because it is a Wordpress plugin we are able to plug the booking engine directly into our website for a seamless experience. HQ's support team is very knowledgeable and responsive. Cons We use a third party supplemental insurance to offer to our clients during the booking process, it would be great if they were able to plug their API into the reservation process on the website to automate this process.
