ScoutDNS was easy to setup and continues to be easy to utilize day to day. Pros ScoutDNS' intuitive dashboard and setup process made it very easy to configure and implement all of the features available to us. Everything about ScoutDNS is clear and easy to use; it doesn't require extensive setup or a technical "genius" to operate. Cons While the dashboard is nice, it seems to be lacking some functionality specifically in determining when a page was blocked and by whom. While you can manually search out offenders, it would be nice to see an option to be alerted when a device makes a bad request in addition to some better search abilities within the logs. Much more than we were even thinking of. We signed up for the trial and after changing our DNS in the server all of our church systems were protected and it has worked so easily for us to be protected. Our confidence is up so much now with this solution protecting us. Pros I liked the Dashboard, logging and ease of adding items to the whitelist. Also the ability to create a custom policy to build what we need to block here at the church. Setup was very easy as well. Cons We had some issues with the time stamp in the logs and dashboard. Upon contacting ScoutDNS we found that it is our browser that controls this time stamping and so we are looking at correcting the issue.
