This review is from the sys-admin, who has been working with it since day one. I have seen the system grow, across all departments. Users often come with questions like "would this be possible in Sertica?", and the answer is usually "Yes". Although more often it is: "Yes, but..." Nevertheless, it is a solid, robust application, of which I can really only speak praise. No software is perfect, but this one certainly tries very hard to present itself as reliable and good. And then you think you know the whole application, but sometimes I still let myself be surprised by little bells and whistles I wasn't aware of, and which ultimately turn out to be handy to use.

Pros

It is a fantastic application. Very stable, few complaints. It includes much more than just the standard "Procurement & Maintenance" modules; in principle, it can also serve as a WMS. Furthermore, we use it extensively for everything related to HSQE. Those who see and understand the underlying logic find the application to be very strong, robust, and pleasant to use. It offers sufficient flexibility so that every role can work within it in a clearly defined manner, although this sometimes requires some creativity.

Cons

There are some limitations here and there, which are also not easy for the developers to update. The application is very broad, which introduces increased complexity and causes things to sometimes be overlooked during new iterations. Fortunately, these are not very serious, and solutions are usually readily available. However, an overload of buttons and functions, and certain visibility (especially if you are not very familiar with the application) sometimes pose a problem, particularly for new users.

Pros

The maintenance module provides an intuitive and well-structured platform for planning, scheduling, and tracking both planned and corrective maintenance activities. The ability to manage maintenance intervals, monitor outstanding work, and maintain comprehensive equipment histories has significantly improved our maintenance planning and helped ensure compliance with operational requirements. The system also offers excellent visibility of vessel status, enabling engineering teams to prioritise tasks effectively and minimise downtime. One of SERTICA's key strengths is the integration between maintenance, inventory, and purchasing. This connected approach ensures that engineering and procurement teams work from the same data, reducing duplication, improving communication, and helping to avoid delays caused by unavailable spare parts.

Cons

The system has a wide range of functionality, which means the initial learning curve can be quite steep for new users. Comprehensive training is often required before users can take full advantage of all the available features. Some reports and dashboards require additional configuration to meet specific business needs. While the system is highly configurable, creating bespoke reports can sometimes require support from an administrator or SERTICA's support team.

we do a heavy customization for Sertica complying with our strategy at the company. Sertica team cooperating very well with us on specifications, full consulting and support. We get a good service.

Pros

robust, no competitors on the market, could be compared to SAP, not flexible but stable and operational, serves its purpose

Cons

It's too heavy and not that user friendly. Malfunctioning happens. Performance is not optimal and maybe will never be achieved

Overall, my experience with Sertica has been very positive. It is a mature, reliable, and highly capable asset management platform that supports both day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making. With its strong foundation and continued investment in AI, automation, and modern technologies, I believe Sertica is well positioned to create even greater value for its customers in the years ahead.

Pros

Having worked with Sertica for several years as both a user and a process/ø and system owner across different ship-owning organisations, I have experienced the platform from multiple perspectives. What stands out most is that Sertica is a truly end-to-end solution. It enables organisations to connect workflows across functions, leverage data throughout the asset lifecycle, and create more efficient and standardised ways of working. The system is intuitive for end users while offering a high degree of configurability from an administrator’s perspective. I particularly value the reporting and analytics capabilities, which provide meaningful operational insights and support data-driven decision-making at every level of the organisation. Another key strength has been the customer support. The Sertica team has consistently been responsive, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented. We established a strong partnership where challenges were addressed collaboratively, always with a focus on maintaining operational excellence and delivering long-term value.

Cons

Like any enterprise platform, there is always room for continuous improvement. As customer expectations evolve and digital technologies advance, I see opportunities to further accelerate innovation, particularly within AI-powered capabilities, workflow automation, and predictive analytics. SERTICA handles our Planned maintenance & Data collection, Spare parts register and Inventory. Procurement and logistics, Invoice workflow and Budgeting processes are handled as well. HSSEQ management, Safety Management Documentation, Technical documentation, incl. knowledge sharing via the Forum module is handled in SERTICA Further SERTICA has imbedded a very strong Analytics engine and Dynamic Dashboard tool to manage KPI's, data trends and data analysis. SERTICA integrates easily to other platforms in the finance team, or externally to e.g. OCIMF, Invoice capture tools etc.

Pros

The modularity and the flexibility of the system. SERTICA is a platform that can be customized to suit the specific needs I might have. The Support team and designated PM is always ready to spare on new ideas and developments. The implementation of the Budget functionality has improved our cost control performance significantly and will have a huge impact on the integration between office and vessels, improving the performance on budgets and expenses. A major benefit is the cross-functional connections within the system. It provides transparency, traceability and reduces time spent on finding stuff - it is only a click away. The fact the office data and remote vessel data are synchronized so often and smoothly, making the database almost live - makes the day-to-day, hour-to hour operation so easy.

Cons

The flexibility if not controlled can make the data structure to comprehensive and sometimes it is not always logic how the data is connected together. But with a strict control and a firm strategy of the development of the data structure this can be mitigated. Sometimes the last 5% in making the connections super good is missing.
