Pros

  • We can load up the report with 250-300+ pictures and helpful narratives without the report feeling bulky. And, best of all, the owners and their team are highly accessible and reliable.

  • I get amazing feedback from the clients about the reports presentation. I always have amazing interaction with spectora staff, they are helpful and super nice.

  • M experience with Spectora has been awesome. Great software and outstanding customer service.

  • Great professional looking reports for clients and Realtors and user friendly. Easy scheduler and great valve payment integration.

Cons

  • The only data that is lost is a photograph that was being taken at the time of the restart.

  • There have been problems with it "going down" which render it unusable for the time.

  • Way too expensive, and when I tried to transfer MY website they gave me a hard time about it, and as far as I am concerned they did it to try and get me stuck into paying for another year.

  • This has NOTHING to do with Spectora. Stripe has horrible customer service.

"Top Notch / Game Changer"

Overall: Awesome software and customer service. I really like how they can do so much with one app, instead of having to piecemeal it all together. Plus, the visual for agents is great and markets you over and over again. Several clients have used me just because of their wonderful experience with my reports. Plus their marketing team is great if you wanted to use them for that service. It has helped me tremendously. I highly recommend using Spectora to grow your business!

Pros: Spectora has elevated home inspection software to the modern era. Gone are the days of downloading the software, and piecing together different functions such as accounting, invoicing, report writing, CRM, etc. It's all together in one place with Spectora, and if you must, you can even still integrate some of the old school things you just can't let go of via API. Plus the customer service is undeniably amazing. They want you to succeed, and understand our business well. The home inspection industry is changing fast, and they are the only ones who are at the vanguard setting the bar higher. I see all of the old school names in HI software scrambling to play catch-up. Clients and agents love the report and repair builder. It's really a no brainer to use Spectora and I highly recommend them!

Cons: No much to dislike, really. If I had to pick anything, I would say I want a little more robust photo editing (cropping/zooming), but at the same time, I can do things with photos in Spectora that I can't in other software. It's a huge step forward from my prior report writer.

Reasons for Choosing Spectora: The whole package is unmatched. I wanted to grow my business not maintain the ho-hum status quo.

Reasons for Switching to Spectora: Web based report writing, instead of a cumbersome download (so 90's!). Integration and additional services. Visually captivating compared to other boring reports.

"Spectora Software Review"

Pros: What I like most about Spectora is the combination of its visually appealing reports and its high level of customization. The reports look professional and polished, which impresses clients every time. The customization options allow me to tailor each report to specific needs, ensuring I can deliver exactly what is required. The customer service is exceptional, with a responsive and knowledgeable support team that is always ready to assist. The automation of emails and texts has significantly streamlined my communication process, saving me time and reducing the risk of missed follow-ups. Spectora’s integration with QuickBooks and Mailchimp is another standout feature. It simplifies my accounting and marketing efforts, making it easy to manage finances and stay connected with clients. Additionally, the software’s ability to handle payments directly is a huge convenience, ensuring a smooth and efficient transaction process. Overall, Spectora is a comprehensive and well-rounded tool that greatly enhances my inspection business.

Cons: As the owner of my inspection company, I find the cost of using Spectora to be a bit high, especially when adding additional inspectors to my team. While I absolutely love the software and the extensive features it offers, the pricing can be a bit steep as my business grows. It's something I have to carefully consider to ensure it aligns with my budget and expansion plans. Nonetheless, the value Spectora brings to my inspection process in terms of efficiency, customization, and top-notch support makes it a worthwhile investment for my company.

"Greedy without any accountability for anything promised"

Overall: Was so hopeful and excited and after countless issues in combination with hallow apologies and an overall lack of any accountability on their end I have come to loathe the name Spectora. Literally hearing or seeing the name or logo raises my blood pressure. When I think of how much money I spent vs the problems I have had and the lack of any kind of solution or even effort or attempt to fix the problem or provide a work around amazes me I haven't left. I won't be surprised at all if I find out this was all a game to get a decent valuation and the two [sensitive content hidden]dump the company to make a pile of cash and leave all of us that put up with their garbage with the hope of something better to wait for whomever buys it to fix the pile they leave them with. If it can be done. The only things that makes sense the more I think about it. Just wait and see. They will try and go public soon.

Pros: The only thing I like about spectora is the way the summary looks and the repair request builder.

Cons: The least helpful thing about spectora is the support. Regardless of what platform you are on, regular or their advanced business platforms, there is zero phone support. The best I could get when joining advanced after writing into chat for help and going over my advanced account to ensure I have set it up in the best possible way and to see if I could do anything better was a link to schedule out a call 3 - 4 days later. I had that day off and the time to do it right than. I had inspections to conduct over the next few days, not to mention I'm paying them hundreds a month to be the backbone of my inspection company, handle the scheduling, follow up, payments, reporting ect, and the best I can do is chat with someone? Are you kidding me? There is abosolutely zero flexibility in the platform. For example, I have a license and a friend thats an inspector I'm helping start up has a license in his account. I was going to have him come with me on a few inspections while he got his feet wet and to get his confidence up, and maybe in the future when we were doing 10k sq ft houses and over utilize him as a second. Despite him paying $99 already for his license, I needed to pay another $89 on my account plus what we both already paid so he could join me on a few inspections a year. As I have mentioned I have had countless things that have gone wrong, the reporting system that has been stuck in the sandbox for the past year plus we were told was going to be made permanent

Alternatives Considered: Home Inspector Pro and HomeGauge
Reasons for Choosing Spectora: Thought that they were going to have that technology start up mentality that cared about their clients and understood they are the ones that make or break a company. Would back up their promises and talk to deliver a product that was evolving and constantly developing to get better for the end user. Boy was I wrong about that. I feel more like I got boiler roomed and paid a ton of money for a penny stock worth nothing, but all my money is sitting here now so do I ride it out or move on. If your a new inspector, or thinking about moving because of the above, I'm not embellishing because I'm bitter and pissed. Everything I have said other than predictions is 100% true.

"The go-to software for inspectors "

Overall: Overall, Spectora has been a huge benefit to our company. The advanced features have provided additional revenue with little effort while benefiting clients.

Pros: The many features and Web-based software.

Cons: The inability to review photos taken while using the desktop.

Switched From: HomeGauge
Reasons for Switching to Spectora: I became unhappy with the service after they sold or merged the company. Could not figure out how to establish a stored library (it one was even available).

"Awesome Software!!"

Overall: Absolutely AMAZING!!! Could not be more happy with Spectora Helping me grow my business!!!

Pros: Everything about Spectora is AMAZING!! Spectora software has helped me grow my business!! Customer Service is absolutely AWESOME!!! Every issue I have ever had was usually my own doing, but the chat bubble and every Spectora customer service person I chatted with helped me solve every issue I have ever had!! Always recommend Spectora to everyone I know who is starting their own home Inspection business!!! Or even established home inspection companies I recommend spectora to. They see my report examples and are blown away!!

Cons: not really a CON, I know its in the works, but the pay at closing option I am really looking forward to!!!

Reasons for Choosing Spectora: Ease of use and AMAZING customer service!!
Reasons for Switching to Spectora: I started with another company who used Homegauge, not a fan at all!! When I started my own I shopped around a little and tried other software. After I started using Spectora, there was nothing else that compared to the ease of use and the amazing customer service!!!
