## What is Stax?

Stax is an all-in-one payment technology platform built for businesses that have outgrown flat-rate processors. With subscription-based pricing and 0% markup on direct-cost interchange, Stax saves businesses up to 40% on payment processing fees — no hidden costs, no percentage markups. The platform includes Stax Pay for in-person, online, and mobile payment acceptance; Stax Bill for automated recurring billing and invoicing; CardX for compliant credit card surcharging; and Stax Connect, an embedded payments solution that enables SaaS companies and ISVs to integrate full-stack payment processing directly into their software. As an end-to-end processor, Stax handles the entire transaction lifecycle in-house — from authorization to settlement — giving businesses and software platforms more control, better economics, and dedicated support. Over 30,000 businesses trust Stax to process more than $30 billion in payments.

It has been great. User friendly system with good customer service when needed. Also very easy for our end users to navigate payments.

Pros

Stax was easy to learn, and the onboarding call I had was great with a very knowledgeable representative who had patience and answers did all my questions.

Cons

I wish there was a good way to set up end users under customers…such as patients under a specific provider office.

My overall experience with Stax has been great. It allows our small business to manage billing efficiently, and stay on top of accounts on the fly. Automatic transfers into our bank account has been wonderful as well, as it takes a step out of the process and doesn't need to be verified manually.

Pros

Stax is incredibly simple to learn and use, and allows for incredibly quick and easy invoicing. Technical support is also next to none. Any issue I run into is easy to solve with a simple phone call.

Cons

I wish the app were as functional as the website for sending new invoices. Creating a new invoice to send a customer is a piece of functionality that would be nice to have outside of the website, as the Stax app seems much more intuitive on a phone.

So far, it's been great. Transferring over was clean and simple. I feel more secure with Stax than I ever did with other platforms that can shut you down without warning. Stax's assistance in getting approved was great, and knowing I provided all that verification gives me confidence that I can rely on Stax for years to come.

Pros

It's clean and simple. It's not confusing to work with and the fees are much more manageable/understandable. I come from other payment processors that charge a lot in fees for little in return. Stax is pretty clear.

Cons

I think Stax does lag a little in being able to offer instant access to funds. I understand why they can't, but it's a big gap compared to other offerings.

Switched from

[Stripe](https://www.capterra.com/p/123889/Stripe/)

Stripe's fees were high, and they never offered any support during chargeback situations. I felt that they didn't help me navigate those problems, and just took my money away from me instantly every time. I didn't like that. I want a partner.

My overall experience with Stax has been very positive. The onboarding process was simple and straightforward, making it easy to get started. Payment processing has been reliable and efficient, and I especially appreciate the automatic fund transfers, which eliminate the need for manual deposits and save time. The platform has helped streamline payment management for my business, and the support and ease of use have made the transition smooth. Overall, Stax has been a convenient and effective payment processing solution.

Pros

My experience with Stax has been excellent. The onboarding process was straightforward, payment processing has been smooth and reliable, and I especially appreciate that deposits are transferred automatically. Not having to manage manual transfers has made payment management much more efficient.

Cons

While my overall experience with Stax has been positive, one drawback is that there can be a learning curve when navigating some of the reporting and account management features. Additionally, certain fees and pricing structures may take time to fully understand compared to simpler flat-rate processors. However, the ease of processing payments and automatic fund transfers have outweighed these challenges for my business.

Switched from

[Acuity Scheduling](https://www.capterra.com/p/191978/Acuity-Scheduling/)

I made the switch from Square to Stax because I was looking for a more cost-effective payment processing solution as my business continued to grow. Stax offered transparent pricing, competitive processing costs, and features that better fit my business needs. The transition was straightforward, payment processing has been seamless, and I especially appreciate the automatic fund transfers, which save time and eliminate the need for manual deposits. Overall, Stax has helped streamline my operations while providing a smooth payment experience for both my business and my clients.

We are very happy working with Stax and plan to continue for a long time. The team has been very helpful even with some complicated circumstances for account setup.

Pros

Very competitive transactions rates. Easy account setup. Works well. Integrates easily with other tools.

Cons

There is very little that I can say negative about Stax. The only thing I can think of is that the account setup paperwork has become less complete recently.

I have had a great experience with transfering to Stax. It was a pretty daunting task to move away from the processor I have been with for 15+ years, but the Stax team made it painless.

Pros

Stax pricing is what led me to choose themm over the others. I likes the per transaction rate over the % on sales, seems a lot more fair. I was also super impressed with their customer service and they always seem to be available to help me.

Cons

I have not found anything I do not like. Its been great, so far. I was worried the new portal may be difficult to get used to, but no issues yet.
