Pros

Buddy makes it easy to setup different pipelines for your staging and production servers. There are a large selection of pipeline actions available - integrations and tools to fit everyone's workflow. The Buddy interface is easy to navigate and the team has evidently put a lot of care into their product.

Cons

I can't think of any big cons off the top of my head. Maybe one thing is that the pricing can be kinda steep, especially if you're a really small team or a freelancer.

Overall its a great tool to integrate CI and since everything is connected very well, it can do magic during the complex deployment process.

Pros

Its very easy to set it up and get it going. My favourite is the UI.

Cons

There is no proper documentation or training videos on this tool. Though its easy to setup some part of it, sometimes its really hard to find the help and configure something custom.

Great product, I started to use it about a year ago and looking forward into new features, recommended to few friends with startup and they love it. Very nice design and many visual integrations. Had some issue with billing as I was not able to add person to company just for billing purposes. Other than that everything is great, good work!

\* very easy to use \* new pipeline config is very simple \* multiple integrations \* on-premise plan \* options for pipelines discribed in yaml files or we can just click it one after another \* after registration its ready to work

Cons

\* complicated build are failing randomly (with multiple additional serwices) without logs - cannot investigate why. It occurs as on machine on 20G memory as also on 60G (guys are working on that) \* no integrations for output parsing (ex. junit is not parsed) only raw output \* limit of 4 additional services (ex. mysql) per pipeline action (I've already reached the limit and I need add some more services in near future) \* if using yaml config, its extremely easy to unintentionaly break pipeline for example having conflicts with merge on feature branch. Would be great if we could have an option for securing pipelines to read only from concrete branches (for ex. master and pipeline-dev),

We use Buddy Works to deploy new updates of LMS-kind software to our development and production servers in real-time

Pros

This service is a beast, from the way you start configuring your pipeline from an existing repository and all the available actions to the fully specified real-time log of the executed actions, the ability to clone existing pipelines and the analytics provided and the possibility to rollback

Cons

The only thing that we didn't like was the quantity of projects that you can have in the free version but that doesn't justify the overall quality of the service

As a dev agency with over 100+ websites, Buddy has made it simple to deploy to production/staging servers with ease.

Pros

Ease of use! If you're not into writing configuration code, Buddy has an excellent GUI setup that guides you through deployment setups.

Cons

Transfering repositories from GUI setup to a .yaml setup can be a hassle if buddy doesn't pick up the new buddy.yaml file. I'm probably doing something wrong though.

I was responsible to always compare the code before applying on production and BuddyWorks allows me to save time every day. Your interface is beautiful and easy to use. With a few clicks, you can create powerful pipelines.

Pros

BuddyWorks allows us to create useful pipeline. You can even pipeline with approbation and testing.

Cons

Maybe some aspects of the interface. The cards from each project are too big. If these cards would be smaller I could see all my projects and groups without scrolling the windows.

Buddy has saved me a ton of time over the few years, building and deploying websites to a number of different servers and services and I honestly couldn't be happier.

Pros

Setting up deployment workflows is an absolute cinch, with support for various build tools, version control systems and third party services out the box. Customer support has been great too, with quick responses and real fixes to issues (not workarounds).

Cons

Nothing so far, Buddy has been great since day one.

We have been using it for almost 2 years and it's been great. Now we have 66 configured projects and the structure of pipelines makes it easy for us to maintain all these projects at once.

Pros

Really customer focused, good and fast support, easy to use and its always improving fast with new features. It just wotks :)

Cons

It can be expensive if you need a lot of parallel jobs running. The support with the devs is not 24/7.

I'm very impressed overall. Buddy has helped focus on writing code instead of DevOps, because it just works.

Pros

The UI is very good and makes it very easy to build you custom CI pipelines. It's also very fast and reliable. The support is also good, and they are open to feedback.

Cons

I bit expensive for me as a solopreneurs with several small clients. I do however think it's decent value for money.

Overall, we've seen great increases in deployment speed and ability to get code from Development to Production quickly and efficiently.

Pros

We love the stability it has provided as well as consistently deploying our code, both compiled and 'raw' to all of our services.

Cons

We've occasionally had glitches in deployment, but these were rectified very quickly and communicated to us by the team at Buddy.

I'm overall impressed with Buddy. They have affordable starter plans and even more so if you use it for personal projects as it is free for one project.

Pros

I like the ease of use. It's very easy to do what most would consider quite complicated actions. Deployments made absolutely seamless.

Cons

I have yet to experience any cons with this software.

Reason for choosing Buddy

I have some experience with Springloops and although that software did what it needed to, I felt the UI was lacking a lot of modern appeal and usability. I then discover Buddy and it really just ticked all the boxes of needing to be a simple and usable deployment solution.

Before Buddy, we relied on tools like DeployBot to automate our deployments. Buddy is better in every conceivable way, and it doesn't require a PhD in Computer Science to setup or force you to structure your app in a specific way. We have it doing: Dependency installs Asset generation Atomic deployments Elastic Beanstalk deployments Cloudflare / Cloudfront cache clears Etc

Pros

Lightning fast Extremely flexible - you can basically create any pipeline you can dream of

Cons

Support can be a bit sluggish due to time zone issues and the capability of the first responders in chat.

The Buddy team has been helpful and fast responding even though we're on on their main timezone. The system is mostly self-service and we have had no big difficulty figuring out how to handle what we needed in terms of continuous integration. It's changed the way we look at our development workflow.

Pros

It was easy to get up and running within a couple of days. So far it has been able to handle 90%+ things we've tried to do.

Cons

I think the recent pricing change to focusing on GB/min means its more comparable to Github Actions and other systems. This means its easier to compare apples to apples. Previously Buddy was in a league of their own.

Reason for choosing Buddy

Pricing, ease of use, cloud based, lots of integrations. We also had a recommendation from a trusted friend that it was good.

After using DeployBot for years, I wanted to see if there was something out there more flexible and faster. Buddy has been a perfect tool for us, and helps us deploy different repos every day, in different and unique ways.

Pros

I like that we are easily able to use Buddy for all of the applications across our stack. We have apps on multiple servers and in multiple languages. The GUI is extremely easy and much faster than typing yaml files, but if you'd like to type your CI, they offer an easy import/export tool.

Cons

It's hard to think about what I don't like about Buddy, but if anything I suppose it would be that their atomic deployments are a little challenging to use.

Great customer support when I started using it, I got guided through a few complex setup steps. When I first started playing with it to feasibility test I had a really complex approach, further reading into the docs allowed me to build a single 5 action pipeline that eliminated approximately 15 manual touch points on the previously deployment process we had.

Pros

This is ridiculously easy to use and build very complex pipelines for CI deployments. It has saved huge amounts of dev ops time for use and allows for some quite niche commands to run when we trigger deployments.

Cons

Nothing really, I think the price points are very fair for the time it saves, they have a good response rate to support requests and are helpful.

### "Good Product for quick CI workflow creation"

Good experience, coming from a position with a smaller degree of devops workload, it's been a great way to introduce myself into how tools can be linked together to create sometimes very intricate deployment workflows.

Pros

One of the key parts I like the most is the ability to duplicate actions from one pipeline and move them over to another one, which was key in reducing the time to deploy for some of our earlier automation flows.

Cons

The handling of environment variables - have had to resort to particularly strenuous workarounds for us to have our environment variables shared between pipelines, actions and projects.
