Pros

It is a great way to handle our deployments while it remains simple and easy to use. Even more importantly when it came to stepping up a level and starting working with ansistrano and much more advanced deployment systems it stood its ground.

Cons

Literally nothing, it's a great piece of software.

We've been using Buddy to manage project deployments and build steps for various different projects and different servers. We've now got complete transparency into which pipelines are set up and when they are running. We've hooked production deploys into slack so everyone can see which projects & features have been pushed live. We love it!

Pros

How easy it is to set up new project pipelines and connect to new servers

Cons

I don't really have any cons at the moment. The free tier was enough to trial the software and we've upgraded to allow more project pipelines. We love how transparent it has made our deploy process and it connects to pretty much everything we need!

Pros

Very easy to use. Very powerful. I like everything about it.

Cons

No mobile app. No public repositories. No easy way to preload repositories with software IE: it would be great if I could start a new repo with WordPress pre-installed.

Pros

That it seems like it was fairly easy for the admin to set up and get us running test instance deployments on. It has not gone down to my knowledge and we were having issues with that on our old deployment manager.

Cons

The admin is trying to set it up so that we can use our tags/branch names instead of having to know the commit hash. Pretty sure it would be possible, but that is not as easy to use. Also the first time using it, the "Run Now" button made it appear as though I was starting the deploy, but I wasn't sure where it was going to.

A few UI quirks here and there, but that's not really a con.

Buddy worked very well on our whitelabel business model. We generate dozens of apps per month, and we expand our sales without increasing the number of developers on the project.

Pros

We like how easy it is to add new pipelines, and monitor build processes.

Cons

Unsupported to generate iOS apps, so you need to subscribe to another service to do this

\- The interface is so easy to use. - Lots of tools available to build site code and deploy with lots of techniques. - We are using for .Net, WordPress, Drupal, and Magento.

Have loved using it and the entire team have taken to it really well.

Pros

\- Incredibly easy to use - Hooks up with Github to make setup simple - Fast interface - Billions of integrations!

Cons

The interface makes use of keyboard shortcuts which can be a bit annoying at times when using things like the escape key to cancel an OS autocorrect suggestion. But once you know that, you know how to avoid it.

We are saving a substantially amount of time buy automating our building+deployment process. With automating this process we also reduced the amount of administration need for Sysadmins when pushing new code to production.

Pros

Buddy was easy to setup and training to our employees was quite easy, we are slowly adding all our existing solutions to buddy and felt like the process was quite easy.

Cons

Missing some small functionality specific to Azure, but after talking with support seems to be something that is on the pipeline for buddy

Buddy works! Seamless, beautiful and rock solid. Definitely my choice when deploying Github repositories.

Pros

Buddy saved me countless hours of server work by allowing something simple: deploy a Github repository to a server, via FTP. Simple but I have spent hours researching about quick solutions for this until I found Buddy, and it works! The interface is beautiful and simple and in a few clicks you can deploy your Github repositories without much further do, few clicks and you are done. No more FTP cowboy coding for our team. i have used the simplest of their deployment scenarios but I am sure the tool can do much more.

Cons

Maybe the cost is a bit prohibitive if you are a freelancer or small agency. And maybe it's no widely use enough but I didn't really find extensive documentation or tutorials for the tool. Looking forward for more.

We are currently using over 15 pipelines with various software clients, for mobile, and web solutions. It saves us time, and it helps our clients see deliverables more often.

Pros

It easily integrates with many of the tools we use, and saves us a lot of time. As a secondary benefits, it helps our clients feel more comfortable as we can have deliverables more often for them.

Cons

For some of our clients it would be easier to have a more expanded free tier so they are more comfortable using the product earlier on once they have to get their own buddy account.

They could not produce a means to archive all files into one package, and then upload that to server, and unpack. Uploading 1000's of small files, individually just takes to long.

Pros

I like the concept of pipelines. As i am a quality assurance engineer so i integrated the pipeline of my automated test cases with the pipeline of the app. So when the pipeline of app is executed it also automatically executes my test cases.

Cons

it shows overall that the pipeline is passed but it do not shows that some of the executions were failed.

We're automating the deployment on our staging environments. A Slack hook notifies us in the Slack channel after the deployment is finished. Buddy saves us a lot of time in our daily business.

I'm fairly new to devops. But Buddy makes it extremely easy to setup with their visual pipeline/workflows and deploy your app.

Cons

I feel the support can be improved. They're really responsive on Intercom, but usually need to send your request to the developer team to get an answer.

Pros

Buddy's UI is the most intuitive of any CI/CD tool that I've tried. It's simple to set up new projects and pipelines without needing to add a configuration file. Sharing projects is straightforward as well. I have personal experience with Jenkins, Semaphore, CircleCI, Bitbucket Pipelines, DeployBot, and DeployHQ (and perhaps others); Buddy is the best by far.

Cons

Their paid tiers are pretty expensive, but their free tier is quite generous and has met my needs so far. I haven't tried it, but apparently you can spin up a Buddy droplet on Digital Ocean for $5 per month, which is a great option.
