Pros: We are a small school district and with me being the only IT person on site we need a simple solution that works well. Avast is simple to use and works well at a very competitive price point. It's also cloud based which helps reduce on site server costs. Customer support has always been helpfull.

Cons: The cloud managed portal is simple but there are a few things I would like see improved. Removing licences attached to broken computers isn't as simple as I would like also the task scheduler could do with more features such as add newly added devices to an existing group.

Overall: The big benefits of this software are, price, simplicity of management and deployment and Its cloud bases and reduces on site server costs.

Pros: Avast is easy to install, works on our multiple machines, and runs in the background without issue. Only know it is there when it catches a problem - and that's a good thing!

Cons: Customer service for the product could be improved greatly. Installation issues required some assistance, which was difficult. It seems with a great product, great customer service would make it even better.

Pros: AVAST normally catches viruses in email attachments and downloaded programs. AVAST updates important applications such as Adobe, Java, browsers, VLC, iTunes, etc.)

Cons: AVAST does not catch malware and spyware that is often caught by MalwareBytes. Support is very slow to respond. The latest versions of AVAST use a lot of system resources. Application updates require manual intervention.

Comments: If not for the auto renewal I'd be very happy with this company. Because customer service wouldn't help nor respond to BBB complaint I will find new software when my current contract expires.

Overall: We have been using this software for 2 years and have not thought of any alternative till date. I use it both at my office and home. It is very light weight, easy to use and setup is simple. You didn't have to be technically know how to understand it's feature. We have just installed it in our office system and the product takes care of everything. Great value for money.

Pros: Ease of use and time it takes to roll out the software are big factors in choosing this Antivirus. Also, the price was much better for us than competitors.

Cons: We use to use Sophos which has a lot more features. This is a fairly basic antivirus so don't expect a lot of sophisticated features. You are trading price and simplicity for features.

Overall: I am the director of technology at a small school district. I switched to avast as it cloud based and has saved us allot of time and money!

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend this to schools as it is a big cost saver.

Comments: Avast is very easy to use, with it's clear layout and UI. You will not have a problem with navigating, and finding what you need it to do. That in combination with it's fast and effective scans makes it a good choice if you need an anti-virus.

Pros: No hassles, no viruses, no wasting time.

Cons: Occasional popups trying to get you to upgrade to their paid version.

Overall: I remember the days of dealing with virus after virus, popup after disgusting and embarrassing popup. When I started using AVG and Advanced System Care the viruses, malware and computer slowdowns have been virtually non-existent. However, after a few years of using AVG, they started popping up ads and limiting their service so a little bit of malware started creeping in so I moved to Avast (at the recommendation of a computer geek friend of mine).

Although I do get tired of Avast popping up upgrades to their paid version, it is acceptable because I am not paying for the service. The paid version does have a few tantalizing features but I am still not convinced I need them. The free version keeps viruses and malware from afflicting my surfing capabilities and that is the main reason I need this level of security.

Another important factor: We sell a CRM that also offers drip marketing capabilities. Some popular anti-virus products such as McAfee and Norton, will cause issues stopping emails from going out causing extreme frustration to our clients. I tell them to junk those programs and try Avast then their problems go away.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're not techie, get it because it is very user friendly and easy to use.

Comments: Why would you pay for the other brands when you can use Avast. I'll admit, I was skeptical at first. There's got to be a catch, right? - Free initially, but then you have to pay. That's not it at all. Avast works as well as other security software that you would purchase online or in the box stores, but it's free. I've used it for about 3 years. I knew about it, but never tried it. Don't use your PC another day without Avast. It's an excellent security must-have.

Pros: Free Thorough Effective

Recommendations to other buyers: You might think that "Free" means low quality. Not true with Avast. It's a top notch product!

Pros: avast! is very easy to use and setup/install, works well with multiple operating platforms, scanning feature works well and can be paused if needed, updates are easy to install, doesn't slow system down and I don't complain about anything FREE

Cons: I don't normally open up the interface so some notifications aren't received or read as soon as I should - an email notification would be great though - but again, for free software, I'm not complaining. I've never used their customer service or had to call for anything so can't comment on that.

Recommendations to other buyers: Find out what you NEED and search for a software that gives you that....don't settle for less and don't pay for anything until you've been able to try it first.

Pros: The best thing I like is their centralized Enterprise management console which can handle complex workstation structures and hierarchies prevalent in MNCs from a single location. It offers an assortment of reports which can easily be customized as per the business needs and can be configured to generate at a particular frequency. Remote deployment of updates and patches is also possible which is an efficient way to keep all of the endpoints updated automatically whenever they connect to the business network.

Cons: Avast Endpoint protection suite does support only Windows PC and file servers. There is no support for Mac and Linux based workstations. Also, there is no support available for securing mobile devices which have become an integral part of today's business.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are a startup and expecting to scale up in near future, this might be a good option as it comes with 2 different consoles. So, you don't need to change your basic setup when moving to a complex hierarchy setup. But if your network has Linux servers or planning to have Linux servers, then you might to reconsider your choice of Avast endpoint protection suite as you have to buy a separate protection package for your Linux based file servers or email servers.

Pros: The most useful part was its seamless response. This antivirus is great. It doesn't use much memory from the computer. Long scan time and the result remain accurate.

Cons: Initially All HTTPs sites were rendered broken and I worked for a long time working this out as I did not try any of them before installing avast. Avast should warn about this issue during install but they do not. Lots of time wasted but if this helps someone else great.

Pros: A straight forward deployment with a very minimal number of prompt screens during regular use after the initial setup. It offers a good piece of mind and great protection for your servers and your workstations. The malware removal process was effective in locating and removing the infections.

Cons: The removal process for an infected machine was little lengthy and required multiple reboots to clean the machine. Fortunately none of the PC's that had the software ever had to be put through this process.

Recommendations to other buyers: This software scans quickly on start up and offers great protection for the price. When scanning an infected PC it found everything the first time.

Pros: I am in love with it's AutoSandbox feature and it's integration with the File Rep cloud feature which identifies new files which could be potential threats based on feedback by other users across the globe. So, basically even if a certain file is tested and deemed as malware by Avast labs, if it's reputation is low, Avast automatically sandboxes it which means runs it in an isolated environment. This is really a smart smart feature.

Cons: Customer service is not in the same league as the product. Although the product itself is state of the art but it runs into issues with updates and upgrades of OS and other softwares. And then the customer care is not good enough to support and resolve the customer issues.

Recommendations to other buyers: This product does everything it claims to do except that the customer service is not good. One gets full control of what is getting implemented. So, I believe it is a choice between amazing product and not so good customer support at a competitive price.

Pros: The Small Office Administration Console is a web-based console which does not require a server operating system. This is ideal for small business with limited network. Once installed , this console can be accessed from anywhere with any computer having an internet connection. It also enables receiving notification whenever any device is connected to the network.

Cons: Antispam and Firewall is kind of missing. Also, it only supports window based devices which is kind of a restriction if you wish to have a multi platform network.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend this product just for the flexibility and provides it provides. It caters to the needs of both the small and large businesses. It deploys numerous shields and updates are streamed in real time. So, if antispam and firewall protection is not a must and you have a windows only network, this product is worth every penny

Pros: Ideal solution for SOHO networks of up to 199 computers and no servers. So, it becomes ideal for Small and medium businesses who need to protect their workstations and don't need to pay additionally for the server protection. Also, depending on the network configuration, it offers the choice of consoles which is a very unique feature. Further, one issue which I have always faced with antivirus solutions is that they tend to occupy a lot of resources and critically slow down the machine. Thankfully, with Avast this is not the case. It takes moderate resources and there is no noticeable slow down of the machine. Also, the ability of Enterprise Administration Console to support mobile devices is good to have.

Cons: It is only effective when the devices are within the network. Once the device is out of the network, It does not provide a way to protect data located on stolen/lost devices.

Recommendations to other buyers: A quality product with choice of different consoles depending on the network configuration and size of the network. Except a few misses, an smart product backed by a huge Avast threat detection network . I would definitely recommend this to any organization which does not have servers on the network and just need endpoint protection.

Pros: Managing antivirus protection on networked PCs is not easy without an easy to manage centralized console. Avast understands this and has given the option of 2 consoles with this product. Smaller businesses can opt for easier to manage web based console while medium and large businesses can go for Enterprise Administration Console which is a bit complex and can take care of complex hierarchies. Understanding and catering to the requirements of the businesses for anti-malware protection makes this product different from others.

Cons: Too sensitive AutoSandbox mode. Also, support for Linux based and Mac OS X based devices missing.

Recommendations to other buyers: Consoles have been designed considering users in mind. For me, it was a major plus point as the organization was small and we need basic anti- malware protection. Features like firewall and file server protection are missing but it again depends on business' requirements and budget.

Pros: Simple and user-friendly management consoles is what makes this product worth. Also, the option of different consoles - web based for small businesses and app based for large businesses. The web based console has been designed keeping in mind that it can be operated by less experienced IT staff which is the case in small companies.

Cons: Customer Service is worst I have seen. It keeps on causing problems whenever there is an OS upgrade or update or some feature stop working. And on the top of these issues, the worst you can expect is virtually non existent customer service.

Recommendations to other buyers: Product is decent with claims of world's leading antivirus protection technologies. But I have had pathetic experience with customer service. So chose at your own risk.

Pros: The number of technologies it deploys to keep the network safe and functional is outstanding. Sandbox and Filerep are few among those. Also, it's vast user community network helps build one of the world's most advanced threat detection network.

Cons: Large companies need to allocate separate resources during it's deployment to remove the previously installed AV software from the network devices. It does not provide built in functionality for the same. Also, there is no support for Linux based devices.

Recommendations to other buyers: Though it lacks on certain features and has a few downsides, it's worth mentioning that it's a value for money package at the price point at which comes. Small or big business who are looking just for highest level of network protection without additional feature like firewall and anti spam filter can certainly consider this as an option.

Pros: The feature of remote management helps save effort on individual deployment at all end points. Also, the ability to schedule PC scans and updating virus definitions when the workstations are not in use. This helps minimizing the productivity loss. Also, scans are fast as Avast makes use of Intelli-scans.

Cons: File system shield falters at times. It detects the virus but it fails to delete it or move to chest. Also, it is not very effective if the organization wants to strictly control data sharing.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is certainly not the best Antivirus available in the market but it does serve the basic purpose especially when money is a criteria. If money is not a constraint, go for other better options (may be within Avast itself)

Pros: Easy installation and deployment with remote management with high performing workstation protection. Also, virus database gets continuously updated with latest definitions in real time so that the business network also has new zero-day threat signature as soon as Avast server has them.

Cons: The product works like charm until you encounter an issue. Customer service is pretty bad if you have run into an issue and need an immediate support. Also, at times, the issues have been faced that mirrored VPS was up to date but the clients were not updating.

Recommendations to other buyers: The most basic business protection which doesn't force you to pay for the feature you don't require. It deploys lot of cutting edge technologies to keep your network secure but at the same time if you need other features like Antispam and Firewall, you need to go for other options.

Pros: In my opinion this should be the best product for Window-based machines as everything in Avast Endpoint Protection is fully supportable to Windows. It uses N number of methods to save guard the system from upcoming and currently active viruses in the market. Using and downloading the software is easy and less time consuming.

Cons: I personally felt that the software has limited Data loss prevention tool. So it performs decently when something is entering into the network but does not control the outgoing data.

Recommendations to other buyers: Strongly recommended for a relatively smaller organisation with less experienced IT team, although it provides full support to larger organisations through its enterprise administration console. However, if you are looking for features like Firewall and Male server protection, then you should look for other options.

Recommendations to other buyers: Decent antivirus solution for PCs (clients) and servers (masters) with economical pricing. It constantly monitors all connected PCs and servers and is capable of blocking unauthorized ones. It can also run on-demand scans of the entire network.

Pros: The console is intuitive and user-friendly.The small business management console serves the purpose for small enterprises and can easily manage updates and remote deployment.

Cons: Only supports Microsoft Windows based devices.Macintosh and Linux have no support. So, it becomes a misfit if your network has devices on operating systems other than Windows. Also, Home and Starter editions of Windows are also not supported.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is more suitable for smaller companies with limited or less skilled IT staff. It provides basic security at a competitive price and obviously lacks certain features when compared to high-end options. So, it boils down to trade off between requirement and cost. Though it suffices for basic security needs of a small enterprise

Pros: The user-friendly simple design of Avast Endpoint Protection makes it apt for small organizations like mine where the IT is taken care by a non-expert administrator. The choice of consoles is also exemplary as it caters to the needs of both basic and complex networks.

Cons: Lack of firewall, file-server and email server protection. Also, it can only secure device interactions with the network but there is no protection mechanism for securing data on lost devices.

Recommendations to other buyers: Go for it if you require only basic device protection at an affordable price. It is easy to use and provide central- management capabilities. It comes with its own shortcomings but it totally justifies the price at which this product is offered.

Pros: The different types of techniques that are deployed to keep the network virus free like Sandboxing. Scan times are typically reduced due to intelligent scans. It also provides two management consoles - web-based and Enterprise Administration Application.

Cons: This is good for securing the incoming data but it's not that secure for outgoing data transfers. Also, if the network has certain Linux based devices, those are not secured by Avast.

Recommendations to other buyers: If your business does not bear the risk of confidential data being shared and there are no Linux/Mac based devices, Avast End Point protection is an economical option for a decent business-level protection. Obviously, if you can spend more, you have better options available.
