Overall experience with Gong has been great. We are considering using it for its prospecting functionality too. Call recording functionality is a game-changer.

Pros

Gong is an amazing tool for sales process management. It has single handedly improved our performance as a sales organization this year, as it allows us to record all of our sales calls and get detailed summaries on where deals stand and allows us to focus on quality conversations, rather than having to take detailed notes during discovery calls, demos, and proposals.

Cons

I wish the AI functionality provided more in-depth summaries, but overall Gong is great and they are consistently updating it. It is nice that it produces call transcripts that I can summarize into detailed notes and know exactly where each of my deals are all the time.

Overall it’s a fantastic platform, one that has gripped its niche tightly and continues to expand and push the boundaries it initially set

Pros

As is known - gong has become the definitive call recording, insight assistant. What used to be done on other platforms, has now become the bread and butter of gong. A platform that allows you to not only complete the recording and playback of calls, but also allows you to fully dive in insights within the calls, and breakdown health, next step, and so much more.

Cons

I don’t have any massive cons for gong, my biggest thing is I like to do my own call breakdowns and utilize my own AI/tech stack to understand call insight, health, next steps, planning etc. not necessarily a con, as you can use your own in conjunction just a piece I would point out

It's fine at what it does, and it likely was the best choice for call recording a few years ago but it doesn't seem like that anymore.

Pros

Everyone is familiar with how it works, and it's not too hard to set up for a new rep on the team to get them started.

Cons

Lack of AI features across all call transcripts, the wait on transcription times / upload times, and the frequent product outages.

Gong has been crucial to help with sales strategy and closing deals at faster rates. Selling is a team sport, and by having access to Gong's analytics of not just my calls, but calls from the rest of the company with active feedback is helpful.

Pros

Gong is top quality when it comes to call analytics and support. I can easily discover the "good" and the "bad" of calls, discover more about talk ratio, and the videos are easily sharable to help with collaboration.

Cons

Gong's AI can be a hit or miss especially when it comes to follow up material and call recaps. I tend to rely on ChatGPT or Google Gemini to create those types of prompts but I'll copy and paste the script from Gong.

Overall very positive. I wish this solution was available years ago - huge timesaver, keeps me productive without having to sort through notes.

Pros

Huge timesaver - capture all of the info I cannot and allows for reviewing of meetings after the fact.

Cons

UI can be somewhat cluttered, getting to the exact place you want could be done a bit easier. Overall not too bad though.

Overall I really enjoy the tool, and I like that it makes it easy to do multiple different things under the sales umbrella

Pros

Gong makes it very easy to do a lot, most importantly record and listen back to sales calls and monitor our sales forecast. The software is very easy to use, and integrates with our gmail and with salesforce to make sure everything runs seamlessly.

Cons

Sometimes the recorder doesn't join the meeting right away and will randomly join a few minutes in, which can be confusing for clients and throw off the groove of the call

An experience so positive that we are actively looking for ways to bring additional parts of our sales process under the Gong umbrella. They do the things they say they will very well, and the product roadmap is trending in the right direction.

Pros

Nails its core offering, the ability to review and coach in a "film room" style. The mobile app is also fantastic and allows you to review calls on the go or in the car (it even syncs with CarPlay). It's just easy to use.

Cons

Prospects and customers can opt out. My biggest complaint is when someone doesn't let you record the call. Everything else works fabulously.

Gong was a great feature to have to re analyze calls, find trends, and see where our team was struggling. If a team is considering high growth and more substantial pipeline with closed wons, Gong is a must.

Pros

Gong was one source of truth for maintaining and keep tracking of all sales call videos. Easily organized, quick software, and detailed features. You can skip ahead of AI-deduced parts of certain calls and see various other statistics.

Cons

I did not like some of the colors they use inside the software for my eyes.

Pros

God I love Gong! I have a learning disability so I struggle taking notes that keep up at the same time as my clients speak. I love that I can go back to the calls and collect the notes I need!

Cons

Literally nothing negative to say here! The search function for the call is killer! I had to go back to a three hour call and collect notes for one specific task and I was able to just search a keyword and the transcription appeared!

Extremely positive, probably the favourite platform within my tech stack.

Pros

Being fairly new to my role, Gong has helped me immensely by allowing me to listen to and review multiple calls of my colleagues to gain an in-depth understanding of what works and what doesn't work in my role when speaking with clients. The transcript and AI assistant is also brilliant as it allows me to re-listen to my own calls and confirm certain points that someone made during the call.

Cons

I've had no real negatives to report on yet. Sometimes it feels like it can take a while for a call to be uploaded to the platform but this may no be an issue on Gong's end.

Gong.io is a very inspiring tool, its ability to record calls and allow us to re-listen them always enables us to deeply understand the problems and enables us to track them down and find the best solutions for them in less time. With Gong.io we no longer miss any notes from customers, have integrated records and can easily distribute the workload to the team.

Pros

Gong.io provides a lot of services that help us perform functions with great flexibility, especially its distinctive capabilities of recording and transcribing calls, and providing the ability to review and follow them immediately, which makes you really enjoy listening to almost every call. It ensures that we cover every aspect of the calls, making the process of following up on feedback and requests accurate and comprehensive. Gong's ability to easily locate the conversation you are looking for, through several search options, thus saves a lot of time and is able to access and follow the required recordings at high speed. Gong's many features such as transcription of calls to texts and continuous updates of the call log allow us to accurately document all requests and also know the capabilities of the team to respond.

Cons

Gong.io is a great tool for our business, and it's easy to use; I wish there were more possibilities so we could record all conversations and more automation, so we could complete our tasks more quickly.

Awesome!

Pros

I was nervous when we first purchased this to have so much visibility, but it's been an amazing help for: 1) remembering what happened in a call whether that was yesterday or months ago 2) getting specific/contextual coaching feedback 3) seeing which deals need helps based on activity 4) flagging conversations by words that are said (especially when seeing how customers/prospects like new features or how other reps are selling those) 5) passing along feature requests or coaching notes to others on my team and in the business

Cons

It took us a bit longer than we anticipated to get fully ramped in a way where we were really leveraging it and able to do all of the above. No other major complaints, but worth noting I haven't tried any of the competitor solutions out there.

Gong helps me with discovery, cold calls, and learning from successful counterparts who have promoted to higher roles.

Pros

Gong is very easy to use. I rely on it heavily for recording my own calls with prospects automatically. When a Zoom meeting happens or when I dial out of Outreach, these calls record. If it is a Zoom call, any visuals record as well. It is automatic unless I purposefully choose to not record for certain prospects that request no recording, so it is not another thing to worry about clicking or selecting. I have years of Outreach and Zoom meetings that I can go back and listen to or watch in Gong, which is extremely useful when revisiting lost opportunities/old prospects, and for training purposes. Even as a senior in my role, listening to other discovery calls a few times a week keeps me sharper. It is easy to filter calls based on what type of call I want to listen to. There are countless customization options here, pulling tags/dispositions from Outreach and Zoom to filter in Gong. The call transcripts are nice too. While not perfect, it helps when I need to listen to something in a long call again and can refer to the transcript to see what time I need to start at to get the information I am looking for in that call.

Cons

\-Love the transcript feature, but as with most transcriptions it could be improved.

Gong.io Help document all communication processes, and this documentation has become an inspiring reference for us, as it works to better follow up on customers and understand their problems and requests in depth.

Pros

You need Gong.io if your job involves listening to clients' issues and requests over the telephone, especially if you spend so much time doing this you don't have the capacity for precise note-taking. Listen to the chat again and read the transcript. Gong.io allows you to do all of this in one place. Gong.io's search capabilities make it easy to locate certain areas of discussion. it's wonderful that calls are categorized so that they include information like the customer's name, who spoke to him and what the subject was, and the time and date of their call, as well as the full conversation.

Cons

Recording features are great, but transcription processes can be inaccurate because conversations often contain slang words or from other languages and always need human review, which is sometimes distracting.

The points of interest that this software measure are all things that you "know" but would have a very hard time measuring. With the measuring features it helps me keep focus on what is important. In addition I like that I can go back an review calls which helps with discovery calls and account reviews

Nothing short of exceptional. Gong also has a strong presence on social mediums and continues to come across as a thought-leader.

Pros

As an Account Executive in the Software Space, I could not do my job as effectively without it. I use Gong's mobile and web-based solutions every day. Mobile App: In order to stay on top of my funnel in a detailed fashion, I am referencing prior conversations with my customer base every day. Gong's mobile application is the best way for me to reference prior conversations or demos on-the-go. Whether I am commuting to/from work or rushing through the office with headphones in, Gong's mobile application is a reliable way to leverage SSO and access my customer conversations from wherever my work takes me. Truly a life saver. Sharing Calls/Demos w/ Customers: One of the easiest ways to hold my customers accountable and accelerate my deal velocity as a rep is the ability to share recordings with my customers. Without Gong, I am certain I would not have the deal velocity I have today nor the ability to multi-thread behind the scenes as easily as Gong allows me to today.

Cons

Some analytics/call coaching capabilities are not available in my mobile instance of Gong. I am not sure if this is something my company does not pay for, however, this would be a "nice to have" as a rep while on-the-go.

Pros

Gong gives you the ability to empower salespeople to be more efficient, master their calls, self evaluate their performance, and create archives of masterful calls.

Cons

Sometimes the software won't join a scheduled call via Calendly, but can likely be solved with better integrations.

I am a raving fan. I don't know if I've ever really been a raving fan of a tool, besides the company I work at (Copper CRM!). I love their UI, their marketing emails which are NOT annoying (how?!?!), and their friendly support team. But mostly- this incredible tool allows me to become a better salesperson. Faster.

Pros

So novel. Yes, other demo softwares allow you to get insights. But Gong takes it to a whole different level. The tips are a prime example of artificial intelligence of the future. I can see exactly what I need to improve immediately after a call- and I check after each one. I set realistic goals that I can actually measure based on recommended best practices that are outlined to me from research that Gong makes available to me- average amount of patience, interactivity, and more that's necessary for a successful sales call.

Cons

The only thing I would change is that I'd like to be able to search more words within demos I've completed. The search functionality is already incredible, as it can pinpoint certain filler words and I can search a variety of terms. If it could capture more, which it likely will as they progress, I'd be thrilled.

Pros

It's so important to identify your prospects needs, but it can be difficult to absorb everything they are relaying. Having access to a tool like gong, gives me the ability to revisit my calls, dissect my prospect's responses and identify their needs. Gong makes this easier by filtering by keyword, offering graphs so you can click into specific parts of each call, compiles key words used throughout and gives my co-workers a place to listen and make suggestions.

Cons

I haven't found anything negative when using gong.

I am a new user of Gong (within the last 3 months). I've spent my entire 30 year career in sales and business development and never accessed this amazing tool. I can't live without it today. It provides strong recall to compare to notes, impacts the accuracy of follow up, and allows for assessment of your presentation / interaction skills. This powerful tool is more than a recording- it enables you to accuracy maximize the time that customers/ prospects spend with you to move next steps. If you aren't using Gong- you are missing out as a Sales professional.

Pros

Integration with Salesforce functionality / capture of follow up, integration of email notification triggering account follow up and updates. Ability to accurately assess call impact.

Cons

Nothing that I can think of I would "least" like about this product.
