Pros: I like how easy it is to manage all my tasks. It's extremely easy to keep track of when things are due, scoring, progress etc.

Cons: It's not an all in one platform. I only log in when I need to check the status on something. I would love if there were better resources to take notes etc.

Overall: Tracking, organization, better managing tasks. This platform helps me stay on the ball and know important deadlines and metrics.

Pros: It makes complete academic sense, is easy to use, and easy for the students to learn. The online help is extensive and includes help in may ways: live online/voice help 24/7, community answers, and an extensive library. The best part is the conference system. Student groups can have their own video conferences any time, and meeting with faculty for office hours, meetings, or class. After designing/teaching courses in 6 LMSs over 20 years, this is by far the easiest to use and the most flexible. Creating modules is straightforward and arranging the modules is easy. I have use the same material for 8 and 15 week courses and the rearrangement (if needed) is easy.

Cons: Would like to see: testing analytics in the LMS and numbering of students in the course list and grade book.

Canvas is amazing!!! Way better than the competitors.

Comments: Love canvas!

Pros: I have used blackboard and canvas and canvas is awesome. It works well and it is simple and easy to use. I love using it for school.

Cons: I don't love how some teachers use it. Sometimes in the collaboration section there can be a lot going on.

Pros: This software helps when keep track of all my online classes by keeping them organized, notifying me what assignments are due and easily letting me submit them. If I ever have a problem, I can easily contact my teachers through canvas as well.

Cons: Sometimes Canvas goes down or "offline" which can be stressful if you have an assignment due that night.

Pros: One central spot to view and submit homework for your school. Great way to stay communicated with classmates and teachers. An easy way to stay organized with all your assignments and never miss a due date.

Cons: Unless the administrator makes changes to their Canvas, their can be unnecessary buttons and junctions.

Pros: This software can be used on a computer, tablet, or smart phone. The app is very easy to use and a majority of the features on the desktop site are available within the app. When using a mobile browser you don't lose any of the features either, and it's still well proportioned.

Cons: Within the mobile app or a mobile browser it's not as easy to view feedback on a document, but this is mostly due to limitations on available download types (downloading a word doc without office on your phone for example). There aren't any glaring cons that for this software that I've found though.

Pros: Automatic grading and customer support are awesome. Easy to post assignments and grade them. Easy to keep track of kids who might be falling behind, and very good and minimizing cheating.

Cons: Difficult to start using. It is hard to set up your classes with the syllabus and quizzes and assignments. But once you do, it is a breeze. At first getting to know all of the different options is a bit overwhelming but that goes away once you have your first couple units created.

Pros: I love the ease of pulling up my assignments and the way it lays our the discussion questions and modules for the week. Everything is so easy to use and self explanatory.

Cons: Sometimes I find that with the mobile app I will enter a lot of information to submit then find that the app times out and I lose everything. If there was a way to save as you go that would be amazing!

Pros: I like the mobile version and being able do homework from my phone. I like being able to color code my classes and correlate them to the calender.

Pros: Ability to import content from existing learning management systems, such as Blackboard and Moodle is a very nice feature. Allows seamless integration between other platforms without too much editing after import.

Cons: As with all new software platforms, it will take some time to learn how to use features but is not overly complicated.

Overall: Ease of use when importing content from Blackboard and Moodle learning management platforms.

Pros: I loved Canvas's simplicity and thorough documentation. Integrating our edtech tool was easier with Canvas than any other LMS we worked with.

Cons: paying for it. It would be really nice to have a demo version of Canvas available for edtech startups to use, so that they can develop best practices for integration

Overall: Lots of time saved, compared to other LMS's. Blackboard was a nightmare!

Pros: I use this weekly with the engagement of my students. I just wish technology was this convenient when i was in school which wasn't that long ago. It keeps you very organized and love how you can preload lesson ,tests, discussion and more. The software had an update were you can have video chat .

Cons: The only thing for me was maybe having a live video option but I am sure that is coming. The students really didn't have anything negative about it. We have been using it for 2 years now and its the pricing not as clear too but we love it and will continue to buy!

Pros: Canvas' calendar feature is the best part about this software. It displays each class' coursework in a different color which allows for easy navigation and organization.

Cons: It is not always clear where coursework is if the professor has not made it clear what tab it is under. There is some room for improvement on the administrator side. Also, you have to make sure you click on what classes you want shown on your calendar or some coursework will not be shown at all.

Pros: All the features are implemented in the best way. For instance, quiz tool, SIS integration, etc. Also, it's expandable because of its open-source version and very good collaboration with IMS Global Consortium.

Cons: The UX is pretty useful but is kind of busy. People always complain about it. It should be more straightforward. Another thing is the developer keys. They are not customizable enough. I'm pretty sure they'll work on it.

Pros: I used Canvas as a student at The U. I've used quite a few others at city colleges and there isn't another that stacks up. Canvas makes it extremely simple to get on, check grades, check assignments due along with making it easy to submit assignments. The calendar functionality is my favorite.

Cons: I've experienced some glitchy-ness with Canvas, however, I'm not sure that is their fault. I have heard it can be a pain from the admin side.

Pros: Canvas is so incredibly user-friendly and easy to navigate. Not only is everything kept in one spot, but it's easy to find and access. As a student, what I like most about Canvas is the ability to switch seamlessly between my courses. I can check grades in one spot without having to go back to my home page and click on another class, and go through all the steps again. This allows me to find what I need quickly and effortlessly.

Cons: I pretty much love everything about Canvas. The look of it is attractive and easy to navigate. The only issue I've had so far is with the Discussion Board feature. When replying to someone else's discussion board post, it's difficult to see the response as a Reply, versus a new post all-together. Replies are hardly indented, so at a quick glance, it's hard to tell if it's a reply or a new post. I'd like to see this feature enhanced just to make the visibility very noticeable.

Pros: Darlo Digital supplies lots of companies and universities with Learning Management Systems to use. We find Canvas LMS superior to most on the market, in its usability and attractive aesthetics. Participants and students find it is easy to use, and instructors are very easily able to administer their classes.

Cons: What we like least is the wait to get more LTI's available for use. As there are lots of LTIs already, it is not a major criticism. However, there are lots of LTIs to choose from so it is not a major issue.

Overall: We have a reliable, good looking bit of learning software to help our customers get up online quickly and smoothly. As it has capabilities of enterprise level software, it is extremely helpful to recommend for large scale infrastructure projects.

Pros: What I liked the most about using Canvas as a teacher is that once I frontloaded the assignments, readings, quizzes, videos, and tests, I was able to provide a work at your own pace environment for my classroom. This enabled the classroom to be a flipped classroom of sorts and have students work on things in class instead of the traditional sense of homework. I think that this gives students the ability to learn in different ways.

Cons: The hardest part wasn't really with the software but with the time it takes to frontload everything. There could be easier ways to go about this but I am not sure what it would be.

Pros: Canvas from an administrator side is incredibly easy to work with. Installing addons takes just seconds in comparison to the fear I experienced in installing anything in Blackboard, and the confusion I experienced trying to set anything up in D2L.
One of the deciding factors in moving forward with Canvas was ease of use for our faculty and students. If Canvas was not easy to use our transition would have been near impossible.
It's mobile app is excellent for students and they are in the middle of improving their faculty mobile app now.
They have an incredible Community that has asked most of the questions you have and someone has provided the answer you're looking for. There are also folks that create customizations and share those with everyone to help improve your workflows. They also let you in on the development process and share with your their progress and let you beta test things for them.
I love having a beta server, test server and production server to work with that is always up to date.
Lots to love about Canvas.

Cons: There are some features that are lacking from Canvas that we are attempting to work around or build customizations for.
1. Set Discussion boards to need grading after x number of posts. Right now it says it needs to be graded after the first post and will not notify the instructor once they have submitted the required amount of posts. This isn't as big of an issue when there are due dates but a majority of our courses do not have due dates.
2. It's Outcomes capabilities are lacking. They have plans to improve on this but it may be awhile.
3. They are releasing a new quizzing tool in 2018 which we are excited for but are worried about how we will need to go about migrating quizzes.

Overall: We are able to get detailed analytics on use not only from our students but from our instructors. We are able to build customizations utilizing the API.
We are now in a hosted solution with a beta server, test server and production server that is maintained and updated every week or 3 weeks depending on the server.

Pros: My institution has undergone some changed and the replacement of its old Learning Management System with Canvas was one of them. And it turned out that Canvas provides students with a simple and easy-to-access interface, and thus, that the replacement has been very successful. Its dashboard presents information in a very effective way. It shows very clearly assignments, announcements, and other important course information. Moreover, this fits well in the current trend of online-learning! It provides a great environment of online-learning with lecture videos, and, even, of test/quiz platform.

Overall: This software provides good environment for online-class learning, not only for online-lecture videos but also for the communication among students.

Cons: The in-browser modules were often clunky and had errors, and the training process was probably not rigorous enough to prevent user errors by both teachers and students

Pros: I like the ability to link pages, and insert text/images/tables/links. I like how many pages you can have within one, and the ease of navigation.

Cons: I do not like how hard it is to go into the HTML editor when you have edited a page and it still has the square with the arrow, meaning it sends you to an outside link. A lot of times I delete the text of the link, but the icon still appears, so I still have to go into HTML and try to navigate the code.
I also don't like that the default is to open a link inside that tab, but I'd prefer that it opens in a new window/tab.

Pros: I like canvas because it is a centralized location that multiple people can access, from students, staff, to faculty.

Cons: I find that the tabs can be challenging to navigate because they have different options within each tab. That can get confusing

Pros: Since Canvas is a relative newcomer to the LMS world, it's built on recent technology. It uses HTML5 and Bootstrap is built right in, so if you have teachers who know a fair amount of HTML and CSS, they can customize the heck out of anything.

Canvas has a lovely clean theme out of the box which feels like a starter theme, begging for a web designer to customize the experience. It's very simple with lots of whitespace, so it works well across devices, and there's something to be said for a lighter weight interface from the start.

Cons: Unfortunately, Canvas's main strength - being very simple and infinitely customizeable - is also its weakness. There is no built-in intuitive structure. Rather, everything from lesson plans to grades to threaded discussions all have to be manually interlinked. At least in my opinion, the built-in navigation ought to be more robust in connecting the dots and taking students where they need to go. Having used Canvas as both an educator and a student, I'd say it's excellent for faculty because it's so customizeable but awful for students if the instructor doesn't take the time to really learn the ins and outs, and my experience has been that instructors don't. Perhaps they don't have the time or the resources to be able to devote that much time to learning an LMS when they're trying to teach something that should come through almost effortlessly.

I really enjoy Canvas. It has a lot of features and is much better than other learning software.

Pros: The ability to use add-ons is great (but still relatively limited). The ability to export classes between organizations is great. Integration of assignments, turn in, grading, quizzes is great.

Cons: Organization of classes can only be done by an administrator so that means that as a teacher I cannot use if for clubs/events/etc. Google classroom works comparably for free. Errors in connection to gradebook often.

Overall: As a teacher having technology like this to organize the entire class and all the resources is great both for the teacher and the students

Cons: Canvas is a big, steaming mess.
My institution adopted it. I have been forced to use it to design a course, and it's taken probably five times as long as it should.
It is nearly impossible to move files around, move questions around, and copy things.
Want to do something really crazy like copy a quiz from your Fall course to your new Spring course? Well-- lucky you--if you Google it, you'll find there's a workaround for that! Yes, a workaround. Not a simple copy function or drag-and-drop. No. It's complicated and every time I've done it I've had to copy dozens of additional files in addition to the one I wanted because it WILL NOT LET YOU SELECT A SINGLE QUIZ out of a group. No. You have to copy them ALL.

That is just one example of the madness.
I don't know who ever allowed this thing to come on the market. It's a disaster.

Overall:
I've used other platforms, and this is worse than nothing.
It would be easier to do it all by hand like we did in ancient times.

Hmm... well, the support reps are fairly quick to respond and seem sincere. Unfortunately, they cannot offer easy fixes to anything, because there aren't any.

Pros: The user interface is generally very friendly. I found it super helpful to organize both online and on ground courses when I was teaching for a university. It's laid out and designed well, and it was generally easy for students to use. The grading functionalities an analytics were incredibly handy!

Cons: Some outside programs were difficult to integrate at times, and shifting the dates of the course anytime I was copying a course from an old section to a new section, the dates never shifted fully with 100% accuracy. I always had to double check and correct the date shifts, which was inconvenient for a feature/function that would have been incredibly handy if it had worked 100% of the time with total accuracy.

Pros: The best feature is the "speedgrader." Students submit their homework via Canvas. It is then quick and easy to move through each submission and assign points. Points are then automatically entered into the grade book. The feature eliminates paper submissions.

Cons: Certain features seem limited and not intuitive. For example, it takes an extra step to assign different due dates to different sections. In addition, as a user and not an administrator, it is not readily apparent to me how to remove students from Canvas if they drop the course.

Pros: I can go back into time and get class assignments from years back. Calendar makes it easy to keep track of assignments (When professors use it correctly)

Cons: Sometimes you get timed out in discussions, spending an hour writing in the discussion form and then attempting to submit the discussion then the page redirects you to sign in, so you sign in and your entire discussion is gone. This could be easily fixed with sticky forms... Also the performance in slow, there is a noticble delay everytime you navigate to a different page while on canvas.

Pros: The user interface is clean, customizable and easy to learn and use. The employees at Instructure care about the product and are willing to listen and make improvements.

Cons: It doesn't offer as many features as other Learning Management Systems on the market and there are times you will be limited on what you can do. While LTI integrations are possible there are times they still need a little work to become more ingrained in education.

Overall: I have used Moodle, Blackboard, BrainHoney, D2L and Canvas. Of all the LMSs on the market Canvas is probably the easiest and most intuitive software to use. Comments: The capabilities of this software are quite impressive but the tedious layout, limited choices, and incessant need to 'jump through hoops' to make it worthwhile far outweigh any value it might otherwise have. The designers of the software considered practically every aspect of what they were intending to do but completely ignored the target audience. We are having weekly training sessions and even after several months, most teachers are struggling with the interface. For example: to create an assignment for a class you must go through a plethora of steps to make the class, including a great deal of information that isn't truly necessary before you can get to the complex task of actually creating an assignment. In other words, EVERY task is simply too time-consuming to make this software of much use to the average teacher. It does interface with Powerschool which makes a great selling point to administrators and parents, but if your teachers are spending an extra hour to hour and half a day, just utilizing this program, what is gained? Frankly, I can do essentially everything needed to implement a classroom through Google Classroom and Google Apps and the time needed to do so is a fraction of what Canvas requires. Bottom line: if you don't mind putting your teachers through a horrendous learning curve and saddling them with tedious and extremely complex software, go with Canvas. If not, I suggest developing your LMS around something with a more simple interface, more forgiving functionality, and quicker to implement. I can say the LMS of Learnmate used in some technology classes isn't really a great deal better but again, why make simple tasks complicated when Google provides a much easier platform.

Pros: The functions available are quite impressive.

Cons: "User Hostile" interface that makes an incredible amount of demands to implement. A large number of items it requires should have and could have a default setting allowing for quicker use.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it before you buy it and let your teachers see the complexity

Cons: Inability to customize menu items
Inability to copy items within a course (only can copy from one course to another)

Overall: After several years of using the Blackboard LMS the company, I work for switched to Canvas. I find it much easier to build courses and add content than other LMS's that I have used including blackboard. There is automation as well. For example when copying a previously used course Canvas allows you to automatically update the items that have due dates attached to the current calendar/semester you are in. Another semi-automated feature is the grading rubric. If you attach a rubric to an assignment you can assign points with a few clicks of the mouse. There are 2 cons - you can not customize course menu items. You can not create an item and use it as a template. You have to build each item from scratch - the only exception is copying from another course.

Comments: When I first went to undergrad, Facebook had just opened up to students beyond Harvard, and papers were still turned in by hand. Now that I'm returning to school to get my nursing degree, I'm loving the use of online hubs like Canvas! The ease of turning in papers, taking quizzes, checking due dates and receiving feedback online, instead of in hard copy, makes my school life so much easier.

Canvas is very easy to use, if your professor knows what they're doing, and sets their Canvas site up well. Unfortunately, many professors still have trouble developing their Canvas site, which can really decrease the usability of the software. I use both the Canvas app and website. I find the website to be very user-friendly, but the app is buggy and lags in its speed.

Overall, I enjoy using Canvas, but I hope they continue to improve their app to make it faster and more consistent.

Overall: I use Canvas for almost all my classes and it is a great way for teachers to post assignments, announcements, quizzes, handouts, and grades. It's also easy for students to access files, check grades, and turn in assignments. The limiting factor on Canvas is usually how well a professor can use it- if they don't know how to change the way grades are weighted, for instance, then the total grade won't be accurate. But overall Canvas is easy to use and getting better. The mobile app needs a little bit of help- it's kind of buggy sometimes and doesn't have all the features that the web app does

Recommendations to other buyers: Focus on making the mobile app better

Pros: User friendly format, tutorials, ease of use

Cons: It can be overwhelming if not broken down into easier learning segments for a new user

Overall: Canvas can do so much! It definitely eliminates extra work for teachers and frees up time to focus on student's needs. I like the Video Guides which are a repository of videos with "how to" info. There are also Canvas Guides that incorporate screenshots with notions from various users (students. instructors, admin, etc). Canvas has been a great LMS for our organization.

Comments: I have used Canvas throughout my graduate program at the School of Visual Arts. I attend a low-residency program, meaning we spend fall and spring online and meet in NYC in the summer for an intensive semester. Canvas made the online semesters surprisingly enjoyable ¿ I felt connected to my classmates and teachers even though we were scattered around the country. It takes some getting used to, and I think there are a lot of improvements needed to the overall flow and interface, but I think it's a great system.

Pros: Accessible, versatile, customizable, constantly improving, the course evaluation process is streamlined and easy

Cons: Some work flows are not very intuitive, have to upload certain files to a folder within the Canvas system before attaching to posts rather than just attaching them directly from your hard drive (which can be frustrating), calendar/scheduler is a little confusing

Recommendations to other buyers: I like Canvas because I feel like they are creative and constantly working to improve their program. Overall, my experience with Canvas has been positive over the past two years.

Comments: I think that Canvas is really almost there as a leading LMS for the 21st century. I use this product as a student and hear a lot about it from my professors. My major complaints are that the mobile app is not functional, the discussion threads are painfully useless, and the product allows too much appropriation from the buying company. I wish that it was simpler, more consistent, and more in-line with software trends.

Pros: Clean, efficient, and organized. I am thrilled by the overall layout, having used a number of other LMSs at this point.

Cons: Still not there. They have a lot of changes to make to improve for a 21st century audience.

Canvas delivers safe performance and safe functionality, but is just that, too safe.

Pros: - Ease of use
- Simple to navigate
- Basic + predictable
- Great customer support

Cons: - Super basic, lack of customization ability
- Limited learning options

Overall: Canvas is the latest iteration of a classic lms. It is safe. It does exactly what people have been doing already, it does not push the envelope in any way in order to push online learning into new bounds.

If that is what you are looking for - an lms that you can use at your highly structured institution (have seen it used in both corporate and academic contexts) then this is the lms for you. It has the standard question types (MC, T/F, short-answer that you have to review) and the standard features (chat room, file repository, syllabus page, course announcements, modules with videos). It is a good iteration of this type of lms - the design is way better than Blackboard, more intuitive and appears more modern. But at the end of the day it's just 90's era e-learning.

If you are looking to try new things with online learning - if you can't rely on any in-person component to clarify issues - if you want to implement creative activities to reinforce learning -- then this is not the platform for you.

Pros: Canvas is always available. Teachers and students rarely suffer from any down time, if ever. Even with the regular updates of the platform (every 3 weeks), there is no significant downtime. The integration with our Student Information System is really good, but will soon be even better.

Cons: I wish Instructure would value the opinions of an institution's Canvas Admin over instructors. Instructors tend to not stay up to speed with an institution's policies, new government regulation, or plain common sense in some cases. There are a few specific tools that would make an admin's life much easier... like this feature idea: https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/7301

Overall: As the Learning Management System Admin for Utah Valley University, managing the use of Canvas can be challenging, but in a really good way. Whenever I run into a problem, I can usually find the answer and deploy a solution very quickly. Instructure provides a dedicated Customer Success Manager who meets with us regularly, a robust case management system, and an extremely helpful community engagement platform. Canvas is updated regularly to stay fresh on new technologies, features, and bug fixes. It's really fun to manage this system and have so much buy-in from faculty. Canvas is also on the leading edge with 3rd party integrations, data analytics, and cross-platform compatibility.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're a new Canvas Admin, understand everything you can about SIS Imports, .csv files, roles & permissions, sub-accounts, and your institution's policies. Then take a look at using APIs when you're comfortable.

Comments: I have been using Canvas for over six years now. I started using it as a student. It was easy to take quizzes and submit homeworks. For the past two years I have been using it as a teaching assistant. The software makes it super easy to grade homeworks, upload reading material and send messages to students. It is by far the best learning platform I have used.

Pros: The intuitive interface and easy-to-use file management is best in Canvas. The SpeedGrader is a very convenient tool.

Cons: There is no tool schedule classes or take polls for extra hours on Canvas. That makes it a convoluted process to schedule time.

Comments: Canvas is one of the newest players in the LMS game. Learning Management Systems have evolved over the last 15 years into very useful tools in the business of education. I have used four different LMS's over the years. When I first heard about Canvas I thought "here we go again, another LMS that claims to be the best and easiest to use". They did claim that and I was pleasantly surprised that they were actually one of the best and easiest to learn and use. The ease of using a drag and drop function allows me to move course material around with ease. An instructor dashboard lets me see student progress quickly. A live tie in to our student information system allows students to be added and removed from the system almost instantaneously. It is by far one of the best LMS systems I have used.

Pros: Ease of use, tech support, drag and drop features, no down time for system upgrades, live tie in to student information systems.

Cons: Price - this system is one of the more expensive LMS systems on the market but sometimes you get what you pay for.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would definitely contact them for a product demo. It would be well work your time.

Pros: The collaboration abilities and how easy/fast it is to set up your class on the platform.

Cons: The quiz-building function is a little tedious. Especially the multiple-choice feature.

Overall: I used this software to help my students who missed classes due to their full-time jobs. It was fairly easy to set up, allowed me to tutor them remotely, and it helped my students collaborate on their projects.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take some time to learn all this software has to offer, because I am still finding new capabilities even though I started using it over a year ago.

Pros: Good idea.

Cons: Hard to use. So many issues I would have to right a short story. I have found it frustrating and infuriating.

Overall: Hard to use even for a very experienced computer user. A lot of features just don't work well or at all sometimes. I have had so many problems with it I intend to pull out of my course as I cannot stand to deal with it anymore. I have had no response from their help desk.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't bother with it until they sort out the bugs. They need to test it with real students in real life situations.

Pros: As a course delivery system, Canvas has been intuitive, organized, and accessible for me. I have used this LMS for one online course and found it very easy to check my grades, submit assignments, and dialog with other students. It was also easy to take quizzes and tests.

Cons: At first, Canvas can be a bit intimidating because it houses so much information. It takes some getting used to, and not every user will need to be familiar with all of the features and capabilities of the software. After some time, this gets better, and you will learn what features you rely on heavily.

Recommendations to other buyers: Keep in mind not just the software's capabilities (which is critical), but also its ease of use for a range of users. For a given user population, there is likely a set of features that will be employed regularly. Are those features easy to use and clearly marked? What additional features might improve the efficiency or ease of use for the user, given the specific features he or she uses most? These are good questions to consider.

Comments: This is the third LMS I've used as both a student and an instructor and it's hands down the best one. It's also the only one that hasn't caused faculty to universally cringe.

For me the best part of this product is the Speed Grader which comes as close to simulating the process of sitting down with a stack of assignments as I've seen any software do. The viewer is agnostic to whatever file type the student submits, which is really slick.

Most other features "just work" which is great. The fact that each course comes with a forum and a live chat room built in is really nice, and they're always just one click away. If I want to hold impromptu office hours in the chat room I can quickly send out a message to all the students. It's the first time I've seen students and instructors actually use the LMS to communicate with each other.

For that matter, its the first LMS that I've seen used as anything other than an overpriced grade book.

I direct academic programs in animation and film-making.

Pros: Canvas is very flexible and responsive for configuring standard classroom needs

Cons: Managing large data files and video content submitted by students, including visual feedback on video. We still use local servers or services like shotgun or sync-sketch for these needs.

Pros: In general, the Canvas platform is easy to navigate and understand. There are few features that can't be learned within minutes.

Cons: As an instructor, the single largest suggestion I have is that one be able to create drafts in the e-mail feature. It is really frustrating to have to create a message in one fell swoop every single time; one has to have all the pieces in place when one starts, and that takes some work.

Recommendations to other buyers: I'm not sure that an online learning tool has to function like Facebook. I often get the sense that Canvas was designed to resemble Facebook and other social media products, and I don't think this necessarily adds value to the product.

Pros: Class group discussions, ongoing access to grades for students

Cons: Student view is often overlooked and instructor can unintentionally miss making content available to students.

Pros: I appreciate being able to moderate quizzes and adjust grades on a curve.

Cons: The menu interface is not always very intuitive. It should be easier to find the tools that are offered.

Recommendations to other buyers: I think this software would benefit from remodeling the interface. I would suggest comparing the existing interface to other, more robust web interfaces out on the market.
