Pros: I love that I can login and check my son's grades any time of day or night. It eases my mind to know that he's caught up on an assignment or to know immediately if an assignment is missing.

Cons: So far, I'm enjoying it. I haven't mastered it yet and therefore haven't found anything I don't like.

Overall: It makes it very convenient and easy to check up on my son's progress at school. Takes away the use of paper progress reports.

Pros: I use this software for school and it is way easier to use compared to the previous software we were using. Everything is easily found and categorized in a way that is found quickly.

Cons: Maybe reword some topics or categories instead of using numbers. That would help a little when finding certain classes.

Overall: More clarity

Pros: I enjoy the ease of use overall of the software, but specifically the integrations that are available allowing me to use several programs within Canvas.

Cons: My least favorite thing about Canvas is that the customer service does not always have an answer for you and are slow to implement new features that faculty and students see as a necessity.

Pros: The online conference calls which can be made through canvas makes it a lot easier to communicate within groups and with professors a lot easier and makes it like a classroom experience.

Cons: Sometimes messages sent gets lost when you are doing conversations which makes it harder if you are not online throughout the conversation.

Pros: I really like how simple Canvas is and the sleek design. Since I use Canvas daily as a student its layout is very important to me and I think it does a great job at organizing my work. Canvas also keeps a nice "To-Do" list of all my upcoming assignments which is fantastic!

Cons: I really don't have any complaints about this software. I think they should maybe do a better job at teaching teachers how to use this software because some of my professor's pages have been less than adequate compared to others.

Overall: Makes my life so much simpler - especially with school scheduling.

Pros: There are a few options on how you would like to be notified and how often from this app. It helped me stay on top of my homework because every time an instructor posted I would be notified of the new assignment immediately. The tabs are pretty straight forward and user friendly. It is easy to navigate and find documents when things have been posted. I really enjoy the calendar feature and to do list feature.

Cons: Sometimes when notifications pop up it you can find it from there but when you go into the app looking for something you cannot find what was posted. It may be where the user's posted it but that has been frustrating. Also there are times when notifications do not show up for announcements and I have missed things.

Overall: Good grades.

Pros: Canvas makes knowing and keeping track of your assignments way easier. Everything is already in one place and grading is made quick. This applies to both students and teachers.

Cons: Like anything there is a learning curve to Canvas. Uploading documents and responding to comments can be an issue, but I would say the cons are very minor.

Pros: The teaching of the 21st century requires a change in models and approach to learning. The change allows to reeplantear not only the contents of the subjects, moreover, the tools with which the teacher will have to share their experiences. It is very valuable to have a virtual space in which you can group: Class documents, videos, conferences, guides, questionnaires, tests, texts, messaging, links, e-mail, all online. The teacher, in this platform, also has the ability to qualify the different assignments and even make various qualifications in real time. The interaction can also include the representatives, who can also access, if they wish, the platform.
Through the "Collaborations", participants can work as a team their classroom projects, through group editing programs, which can be sent directly to Canvas. The personalization, organization and structure of the modules is very helpful for the participants to experience the different advantages of virtual training.

Cons: The platforms have generalized their use in such a way that it is easy to find them in different stages and school courses, as well as in undergraduate and postgraduate university studies. In the same way, the age of the instructors and of the participants varies considerably. When users are not able to interact with each other easily and quickly, they lose interest, not only for the course, but also for the platform, which translates into a considerable loss of effectiveness and impact of the same.
It would be fantastic if the teachers could have a cheaper version of the platform, but not be "tied" to large organizations, schools and universities, a kind of "private" virtual classroom that is managed and set almost entirely by the teacher, who will only have to enter his participants, in different classrooms, at the same time, and with an accessible cost.

Overall: To reduce the distances between the participants and expand the possibilities and technological literacy of all.

Comments: This is the best LMS available for free.

Pros: It has all the features you need to manage an online learning environment. The roster setup is easy, the quiz grading system and features available to create assessments is excellent. Also I love the add ons from other common sites such as YouTube, Pearson, and many other platforms. The canvas community allows you to use other teacher content and integrate into your classroom, especially if you don't have knowledge or expertise in a particular subject area.

Cons: The biggest issue I have experienced with Canvas is deleting or removing individuals from your class roster. Also it would be nice of Canvas could include a paid subscription outside of the expensive large institution (such as universities) plans that only offer. The smaller enterprise subscriptions would be for teachers or other small business owners that need more space to upload video content, and other larger the documents. The 251MB limit canvas provides for each created course gets used fairly quickly.

Pros: I like that content can be edited and annotated directly from the files section on the mobile app. This makes note taking super easy.

Cons: I hate the integration with Study.net. The integration is awful, and I don't think it's actually Canvas's issue, but they should take ownership of it. The study.net integration is slow, buggy, and not mobile friendly.

Pros: As a student, Canvas has a fairly user-friendly interface. It's easy to see an overview of all classes via the Dashboard and then drill down to individual classes or groups. That the system allows for accessible content is a benefit as well.

Cons: I've worked with Canvas both as a student and as a course inputter, and I would say that course inputting is not as straightforward as I would like. It's not bad, though, and again does offer accessibility features, which is helpful.

Pros: Our program has been using Canvas for about 10 years now and we are very happy with this software program. Specifically, the SpeedGrader functionality is superb. You can easily view and grade papers with your rubrics embedded into the grading system. The Collaborations feature is also quite robust and allows students to work on a project together via a group editing program (like Google Docs) and submit directly to Canvas. They've really done a good job partnering with other programs to allow communication between software (for example, students can easily submit their papers to Canvas with an embedded plagiarism checking program without having to use each software package independently).

Cons: One negative about the program is that, while you can assign students to groups to complete group projects, you still have to grade them all individually. There isn't (yet) a feature to assign identical grades to all students in the group. As with any program, there are extra features and functions that would be useful, but overall, we're very pleased. The price is steep compared to other course management software, but we find the time savings to be worth the additional cost.

Pros: Setting canvas up was a breeze. We were able to work streamlined with the company to get everything in place and feedback from our Teachers was great. Teachers liked the way things were organized and how easy they were to communicate through the app.

Cons: When we setup Canvas, they required us to have a Single Sign On application to push credentials to the product. We had to setup a SSO, which we had never used before, to integrate with it to use our Active Directory Credentials.

Pros: It is really well organized and allows you to consolidate lots of required things into one platform. Before we used blackboard for syllabus and power points, google calendar, and a separate email client. Now all of those things are in one place and built into canvas, I like that. It is much more seamless. I find canvas to be easier to navigate than blackboard. It is also significantly more aesthetically pleasing.

Cons: I have only been using it for a few months. I really don't have anything bad to say. I like this platform a lot. I prefer it over others I have used in the past.

Pros: I had no choice but to use Canvas since Harvard Graduate School of Education uses this software to enable students to access course materials and assignment. I've never had any connectivity issues which is great--it was easy to access materials from course syllabi.

Cons: Ranked 3/5 for ease of use. This is due to the following reasons. It isn't very easy to upload and share files (especially when you compare to something like Google Drive which is so easy to use). When I would receive emails notifying me that an assignment had been graded, I could only access the comments if I signed onto Canvas, which was very inconvenient from my mobile device.

Overall: If Harvard hadn't mandated the use of this software, I don't think I would ever have chosen to use it.

Pros: It's nice that teachers can make assignments in Canvas and then students can access those assignments. It's helpful to parents because they can read what was assigned and make sure their child understands the work and completes the work. It's also great that lessons and information can be uploaded and shared via Commons. I can share my lessons and I can also go on Commons to find lessons that other teachers have created and shared. It can be a real time saver when planning lessons.

Cons: I find Canvas incredibly difficult to use. I have attended several training sessions and it is getting easier, but it is not user friendly. It is difficult to create a homepage because it is not set up to make it a simple task. I created a lengthy unit on Social Skills lessons, but I still have not been able to get it to publish so it is available to others. The links show up, but they can't be clicked on to take anyone to the materials. I honestly don't know how to tell Canvas to simplify the program, but it definitely needs to be tweaked..... or overhauled completely.

Overall: It's a great place to store lessons and to obtain lessons created by other teachers. I like that my school corporation can share information and documents with me via Canvas. I like that students can access lessons via Canvas so they have all the information they need when they are at home in the evening or weekends.

Pros: I like how you can customize your courses and organize them. I also like the messaging feature to contact teachers and classmates.

Cons: I think the mobile app could use a lot of work. I have had a lot of issues using it and usually just default do using the website. There are also so many tabs in each course and I think they could be modified for ease of use and organization.

Pros: Canvas provides the students an easy way of communicating and collaborating with other students. An observer can also be placed in order to monitor a certain student's academic performance. The UI is also designed in order to help the students find anything they need.

Cons: Users may have a tendency to decline the use of this software that lessens its effectiveness. A more intuitive UI may help remove this problem

Pros: So easy to use! We went from Moodle to Canvas and it was the best day ever! Unlike Moodle, Canvas always works. I have yet to have a problem submitting an assignment or seeing posts from professors. It's always running well and never slow. Can't say enough good about Canvas!

Cons: I have yet to have problems working with Canvas! It's seriously worth the money. The free programs are not worth the money saved when you can have something as awesome as this!

Overall: Love using Canvas! Makes submitting assignments so easy.

Pros: I like being able to give students homework, quizzes, and other assignments online. I like that Canvas keeps track of the grades, allows me to grade written assignments online and make comments on them. I like the integration with Turnitin. Overall, I like Canvas and use it frequently.

Cons: Certain things like setting up quizzes are overly time-consuming. As an adjunct, I teach several sections of the same course and it is unduly complicated to repeat assignments, post videos, etc. for each section of the course.

Overall: It makes my job easier. I save paper. I can work from both home and the office easier. I have used other similar software, and Canvas is the best one that I have used.

I used Canvas for two terms as an adjunct professor. The tools makes Blackboard look antiquated!

Pros: Easy to learn, students and faculty adjust quickly. The UI/UX is the best in the business for LMS solutions.

Pros: Canvas has helped me in my career as a designer because it is a simple program that can also be used from the mobile phone thanks to its app, it has similar functions as other similar software but much easy and more practical to use. Although, Canvas helps me to carry out my work from my clients and who do not have time to wait, who wants a logo or a flyer instantly.
So, I can make a creative design, not so elaborated quickly but equally professionally for a client who has little time and budget.

Cons: The disadvantages is that some templates are paid, it is also that if you need more tools with this app you have to pay a better version. The other disadvantage is that it is so simple that many potential customers create their own designs.

Overall: The benefits of Canvas software is that it can be used from the my mobile. Also, it is have very simple and predefined templates which can be modified, allowed me to delivery my clients requirements, on the go and every single day.

Pros: I love how well organized and clear each category is. I can always find everything I'm looking for, and you can find it in several ways. I love that it separates by class, and by category. Submitting assignments is a breeze.

Cons: I don't like the extra blank categories that on the site. Teachers don't utilize every part available that would be super helpful, it would be nice to eliminate the parts that they aren't going to use so I don't get my hopes up.

Pros: Canvas is an excellent application to prepare professionals of great level, an application that allows you to learn 24 hours a day, where you can access the educational material of the course in any place, watching the courses several times if you want, it is really a step ahead in education and depends on the student who takes advantage of it, the tool is very complete, it allows you to evaluate students, assemble teaching material, schedule activities, set deadlines for entry and much more, very comprehensive evaluations and manage the final result of each student, a complete support to distance education with a spectacular model.

Cons: At the administrative level it can be a bit complicated at the beginning, it will cost you since the learning curve is a little high since you get lost among so many functionalities, but when you master it you will create courses at the level of the best universities in the world.

Overall: Use a super useful and powerful tool with a wide variety of educational features, with an intuitive and friendly interface that will allow you to create high level courses.

Pros: The thing that I like the most is an ability to choose, I can allow my students to study through materials of this system or add my own learning materials created by our professional teachers, I can also combine them to reach the best effectiveness in the studying process. The idea of studying through technologies instead of all these books and stuff like this is what I can call the 21st century. In addition to this, if you refuse from their materials at all, and want to teach your students only through your materials, so you can do that even without payment! (but still get this platform)

Cons: I believe that this learning management system is a bit complicated. I mean that there are probably too much functions, from one side it is even good, but sometimes you can just be confused with all these things that you have there, so maybe it can be reasonable to create two versions of this system or something like this.

Pros: Canvas is a great product for serious educational organizations. It's full of features that create an excellent user experience for each of the teacher, TA's, students, and admins alike. One of the great pros that are missing in many basic LMS's is the ability to create rubrics. It's been adopted by an uncountable number of schools and universities due to its featurefulness, flexibility, and ease of use

Cons: Sometimes it requires a bit of a learning curve, especially for the admin. Also, customizing it is not as easy as using it

Pros: Canvas is a great organizing tool. Some pros include the following: a calendar with due dates, to-do list, easy to use, tabs that is very easy to locate, the what if feature, easy to communicate with teachers, pleasing to the eye, has a mobile app, coming up assignment features, viewing files without downloading them, break down of your grade, and very simple. With this system, I did not have the need to buy a planner to write down all my assignments.

Cons: There is not too much I dislike about the system. Though the system is very organized, if the instructor does not put the files in an organized manner it can be hard to seek the desired files. In addition, there are some times where canvas can be very difficult to use as you have to click different features to get to the desired file. In addition, for the discussion page, it would be super helpful if the reply comments could be in a file with the original comment of the discussion board. In one class, we have weekly discussions and the students of that subjects has to write a powerpoint to explain a character that defines it and the student who did not create that has to write comments for it. At first it was not much but later became very hard to locate the different power point comments due to the immense amount of reply comments.

Overall: I was able to be more organized with my work for school. I am a forgetful person but with the reminders on the side of canvas, it helped me to complete the forgotten assignments. Another benefit was that I learn to time manage my work by seeing the work load I have that for that week. In addition, it also helped me to learn to plan ahead.

Pros: It is a great resource that makes it easy to organize everything related to my learners. Students have told me that they prefer this service over others, because it's a very organized platform, with a clean layout that allows for functionality and easy access. Also, Canvas works well over multiple platforms, such as desktop, tablets, and smartphones. With this service instructor has a good understanding of technology and can learn quickly, this is very important for people with no technical background.

Cons: One thing that needs to be improved is the time between when the situation on the site occurs and when notifications are sent. It seems that the day or two came when I did not receive a notification.

Pros: This platform is one of the easiest ways to turn your lessons into an online environment as a teacher. The program has a trial account, and in a few days you can understand that the program is right for you or not. The program took a lot of trouble and greatly facilitated the tracking of students' tasks. In addition, the program solves the problem of information management from class to house. All the needs for communication with students, the creation of modules, the input of assessments, the exchange of files is carried out using this platform.

Cons: I do not like this platform - it's impossible to fully connect to certain tools that can not create reminders for the student's calendar. Their service team did not provide us with solutions to many of our problems and did not react relatively.

Pros: One of the best components of Canvas is the ability to integrate a variety of media into the learning experience. Canvas is user-friendly for both the teacher and learner. Comments: Overall I think this is a great product that can use some refining to make it more intuitive for the next generation of student and teacher interaction. Once I was able to get over the learning curve of the product and be able to trust that it is helpful for scheduling important dates it is a good supplementary tool for lessons. It should by no means be used as a replacement for face to face participation. The discussion board needs a lot of work, I would suggest a rating scale like readit or buzzfeeed but even that might be hard because of the small pool of participants.

Pros: The product is helpful for keeping track of work progress, submitting assignments, sharing resources, reviewing grades, messaging teachers and the features continue. It has been a great platform to keep everything centralized and gain access to all of the class work that is populated by the professors. The customizable features are also helpful in regards to the potential of the software itself.

Cons: There are a few things that lengthen the learning curve of this tool and can hinder its effectiveness. One being that because it is so customizable, each professor uses it differently and that makes it harder for the student to know what is where when multiple professors are using it in different capacities. Second is less crucial but can be annoying and that is the notifications don't always disappear after you have read a message. Lastly is the point of customization, which I've also noted as a pro but as a con it can be difficult for discussion boards when the format to submit varies for posts.

Pros: I like that the system basically works. It does make grading large classes easier. Alerts-when they work are a great resource.

Cons: LMS systems always seem to lower the quality of the classes in general. Students rely too heavily on the content rather than developing learning skills. The biggest downside is that our admins are able to too easily add changes and do so frequently which makes the platform something that is constantly evolving and changing when in reality something that isn't changing would be better.

Pros: What I like most about Canvas is how responsive they are to their community of users. They have wonderful support and will actively work with clients on adding features together to improve the product.

Cons: What I least like about this product is the Ideas portion of their community site. I wish there was an easier way to look at past ideas when creating new ones.

Overall: With this software, you get the best customer service in the industry. They work 24/7 to help you use and understand the product.

Pros: Canvas has a much cleaner UI, with great features like being able to see what your grade would be given hypothetical scores for assignments you input.

Cons: It seems like notifications can sometimes lag. Often when I complete an auto-graded quiz, it takes some time before an email telling me my quiz was graded reaches my Inbox.

Pros: Canvas offers a mobile app that allows participation in class discussions, displays grades and upcoming assignments. When completing classes online having access to this info on my phone is tremendously helpful. The full desktop site is easy to navigate and offers additional functionality. Combined these resources help me stay in touch with my professors and keep my academics in good standing.

Cons: Overall I have no issues with Canvas. There was an update recently to the mobile app that resolved the one cosmetic issue I had. All in all great software!

Overall: Easy communication with professors and instant access to grades and assignments.

Pros: its use is very easy. in the department we are happy for what this platform gives us. the diversity of predesigned templates gives you a notion of what is the way you should take, if you want to make flyers or billboards just simply choose a good template and start to work

Cons: they have a mobile application that we do not give much use because it is very limited it does not let you correct the templates

Overall: Advertising production has increased thanks to this platform, it saves us a lot of work

Pros: Canvas comes with most of the funcationality that an institution would need, but it also allows you to integrate the data with your schools information system. Some of the integrations may take a bit of work on your part, but we have found that we can export data like attendance and the data is in an easily usable format for us to be able to import into our SIS. This is invaluable to a school.

Cons: Canvas can integrate with almost any system, and while we have been able to accomplish most of what we have needed, there isn't a lot of in depth documentation on how to do the custom exports and integrations. In many cases, you must really read between the lines in order to accomplish your goal.

Overall: Being in IT, it has allowed us to provided addtional funcationality for our students and faculty, as well as be able to import data to our SIS directly, which gives us a higher level of accuracy for things like grades.

Pros: - Simplicity in the UI and UX
- Visuals are clean and easy to see
- Navigation through the different courses are intuitive and designed for easy access to courses
- Group system in Canvas allows groups to essentially have a room for discussion, file upload, and other project management tools.

Cons: - Although for the most part the UI and UX is great, there some flaws such as the download and preview windows on canvas. Some student such as myself would like to mass download various files the professor uploads, however everytime you click on a file it opens up a preview window and from their you can download. So given 10 files, you would need to open up each individually and download them individually.
- Sometimes the site is unresponsive and occasionally bugs out so you need to refresh the site.
- Their is an app online, however if accessed through a mobile device without an app, the mobile website is not as intuitive as the actual main website.

Pros: The thing I enjoy most about this software is the many customization options that allow me to customize the software to my specific needs within my classroom. I also am a big fan of the fact that I can easily access my files within the software at any time. The fact that a trial of the software is offered really allowed me to see if this was right for me and I really appreciated that aspect.

Cons: The biggest downfall of this software for me is the fact that it constantly crashes meaning that my items are constantly being deleted if they have not been saved at the time of the crash which can be very frustrating. I am also not a fan of the fact that it took me awhile to fully understand the app and it's features.

Overall: I was able to customize this software to my specific needs which allowed me to do whatever I see fit.

Pros: The service they offer is great, education does not end at the university, we always have to be in constant learning, going hand in hand with technological growth, always learning new things, they help you with this process, they have totally free courses in the cloud, always accessible to you, with daily updates that guarantee that you will always be offered first class education, that is maintained over time, with accessibility in any place where you have Internet, a unique tool that every person should have always present

Cons: It's hard to say that you have some against, when they offer a free high-quality educational service, but I'll try to globalize it a bit, for some people it may be a bit complex because it may be something new for them, but it's worth it learn and also the gap in access to technology, you must have your pc and access to the internet to use the tool.

Overall: Count on a free and quality educational service, always accessible from anywhere, where you can improve each day by learning a large number of courses that are available.

Pros: Very effective tool for organizing and keeping track of classes, assignments, tests and more. The interface is very user-friendly making it an excellent tool for university students like myself. Addition of class discussions and keeping records of previous classes saved is very useful.

Cons: Despite simple and clean design, Canvas did not offer too many customizable options. And although not common, some professors misused Canvas to become a cluttered mess of redundant tabs and information. It would help if Canvas could offer recommendations for clean navigation for students.

Overall: Helpful for managing academic classes.

Pros: As a student who has participated in the transition from my university's personal learning system to the canvas interface, I must say I am a fan. We would previously rely on several websites to complete functions that canvas has integrated into a single system. Professors are able to integrate "external" apps to meet their needs, such as iClicker registration, or integration of lecture podcasts with YuJa. I especially like the way grades are presented, with "what-if" functions and good representations of score distributions.

Cons: I am unfortunately not able to speak for how easy the software is for an instructor to use, but have heard some professors mention that it can be more complex due to all the possible features.

Canvas was a mainstay during my year of online classes. Flexible, convenient and easy to use.

Pros: I like that I have the flexibility to use the program on my laptop and on my mobile device. I'm able to complete my assignment, check messages and catch up on lessons from anywhere. The program is fairly intuitive and doesn't not come across as bulky or difficult to navigate. Very easy to interface with teachers and peers. Also, allows for audio and video, which is a necessity for online courses. Documents can also be uploaded.

Cons: Prior to the revision of the program, navigating from page to page, link to link and from class to class was a little cumbersome. However, the revamping has eliminated many of these problem areas.

Pros: Canvas offers a great way to keep our university classes organized, turn in assignments, share documents with students, and present a syllabus that's easy for students to reference and follow

Cons: If a document needs to be updated, teachers have to update it in 3-4 different areas in order for the right document to consistently show up for everyone. Sometimes pages don't show up when they're supposed to since there are multiple areas you have to click in order for the page to go live

Pros: Canvas makes it easy to manage students and multiple courses from the same environment. Over the last couple of years they've made great improvements to the UI.

Cons: The only thing I would say is that it takes a bit of time to become familiar with all the features. It's not the most intuitive piece of software, but once you figure things out it does everything you need it to do.

Pros: Most of the classes i take at college require us to use this software, and to be honest it really is a great software. The tabs on the side which include the courses and grades make it easy to go through and find what you need. I also like how the program allows the user to change the grade and determine what is needed to get a specific grade in the class.

Cons: Im not that huge of a fan when it comes to trying to get out of a specific group that you are. I have been getting notifications from canvas from a group i was somehow added to a few years ago and i still continue to get updates from that group. Another thing i am not fond of in Canvas is how if i am sent a notification from canvas to my email, i have to go to canvas to see what was sent to me or what update there is in canvas.

Overall: It was really beneficial to me to use this software because our teachers required it and it was a great way to keep all of our classes in one place. Instead of going to different places to find out about your class and other information, it was easy to just log on to canvas and get updates from all of your classes.
