### "Rollbar is an awesome tool"

Rollbar is really good and fits for our purpose really well. We use it mainly to send logs of errors and it helps us identifying issues within our softwares which use it.

Pros

The items page is really organised, the custom objects are very useful too. RQL - are very handy in order to investigate specific errors occurring on our client base.

Cons

I wish I could tell rollbar to ignore some items and stop registering them on our account. Muting doesn't completely resolve, because it continues consuming our quota. We use the software to log some embedded systems, which are hard to update. And sometimes when there is a fix to an ocurrence in a newer version, the old ones keep triggering the old ocurrences, which we would like to no longer receive.

Pros

The configuration options allowing me to customize the management of multiple projects. And as an addition I really like the diverse tech stack integrations for Rollbar when using diverse programming languages.

Cons

The amount of Rollbar API updates, too many to stay up to date reasonably without investing too much time in the maintance of the integration.

I use it every single day. I get Slack notifications any time a Rollbar error occurs. To be honest, the word "Rollbar" stresses me out, because it reminds me of all the bugs I've caught. That's a testament to how much I use it.

Pros

Rollbar helps us catch issues in production, and respond to them as quickly as possible. Without Rollbar, we would miss hundreds of issues. Seriously, it's extremely helpful.

Cons

The UI makes it a bit difficult to navigate. For example, some hyperlinks navigate to a Rollbar page, while others navigate to the hyperlink's actual URL.

After I get it up and running, I really like Rollbar. I also really like the new dashboard layout. It's a lot easier to get around and find what I'm looking for.

Pros

What I use Rollbar for is also what I like about it. I am able to use it for development (typically in PHP) to debug issues, as well as in Production to monitor any problems with the site.

Cons

The only con is that I always struggle to get it up and running on a project. I'm an old school developer and getting everything running using Composer takes so much time to figure out.

Not happy at all. On the verge to move log rockett which likely has similar pricinging and more useful feature.

Pros

The real time error loging and mostly easy setup.

Cons

UI needs to lot of works to make it user friendly.Telemetry doesn't give a better picture of the error and often confusing. Suspect deploy always defaults latest deployment which make that feature useless.

\- Price is really good - It's realy easy to set up - UI is intuitive and simple - You can trace logs easily, once you setup 'People' tab - Integration with slack and other notification tools - Easy to integrate with Heroku's app

Cons

\- UI could be somehow better, leaner like a sentry.io - Features for breadcrumbs or tracing could be easier to implement - Fingerprinting and error aggregation could be easier to setup, no complicated DSLs

### "The best way to find bugs before users do!"

Trying to log error events in order to identify and fix bugs that our users were sometimes complaining about but we couldn't identify the root cause.

Pros

It is very to see errors as they get logged in the system so that we can identify, prioritize and fix software issues. It is very helpful to see the errors come through that meant a user definitely got an error but it wasn't bad enough for them to contact support regarding the issue but we can still find it and get it resolved.

Cons

I think it would be awesome to have a button to create a github issue from the item in the errors log. It is somewhat difficult for us to track the issues in GitHub and wether they have been resolved with the items in Rollbar.

It helps narrow down where the issues are stemming from. I've had a client reach out in regards to an issue they were having and I could find out where I needed to look using rollbar.

It's ok, if something with a more stable UI came out, I would explore that option.

Pros

A concise place to find all errors. Easy to hook up to the app.

Cons

Many times when I try to use the web app, UI will become buggy. Things will disappear when selected, grouping doesn't work etc. This is especially difficult when I am reacting to an incident.

Pros

It's easy to use and has helped us keep up with anything that goes wrong much faster than if we weren't using it.

Cons

The UI can be pretty slow, and I wish there were a dark mode so I can put it on tvs above the developers without being super bright. I also work a lot at night and a dark mode would be great.

Good.

Pros

Easy to find out about uncaught exceptions. I am able to be notified in Slack.

Cons

It is a little difficult to debug an error. I think it is weird to click on the error timestamp to go to the traceback, but I don't know if there is another way. Also, website does not work well on mobile devices.

I love the product and have used in in multiple projects but recent poor experiences with quality and support have led me to stop recommending it.

Pros

The product is flexible and powerful. It's very easy to setup and has a lot of great integrations.

Cons

Their support responses are slow and they are very, very slow to fix serious bugs.

Really enjoyed the product and only replaced in with on-premise Sentry. Highly recommended.

Pros

Simple to get started and setup with a really good UI. Track down errors fast and solve them with the extended information Rollbar can provide

Can be expensive if you have a large volume of errors or large traffic site.

Pros

I like the level of detail that the error reports provide. It makes it really easy to identify the section of the code that's causing the issue. Being able to see the parameters the caused the error is very powerful.

Cons

It was working great, but in the last 3 months it's randomly not capturing all errors. Although nothing has changed on our end, only some issues show up in Rollbar. The filters now seem to not be functioning correctly either.

Good when it is working and set up. No issues, and easy to monitor.

Pros

It is easy to use, easy to set up, and once set up seems to be great capturing a lot of details.

Cons

We had a developer leave the team as the administrator. Once he left, we tried to get customer service to help us reinstate someone as an administrator. We gave them everything that would be necessary, but they couldn't help us. They were worse than unhelpful, they wasted time and resources, and due to that I can't say that I'd recommend this to anybody. Furthermore, we recently were contacted by another department within our organization that said they were added to our account and needed assistance by the administrator.... right. I don't know why somebody would add new customers to an existing account, but then again, like I said, customer service sort of killed it.

### "No Search, Slow Results"

Not great, we got the better volume noticed, but not being able to search or find an issue from some identifier has been a deal breaker.

Pros

other than recent problems, handles notifications well. Handles overages in a fair way. Allows a lot to be collected.

Cons

Search is terrible. It’s very slow and often not found. If I have a problem from a customer it is nearly impossible to find that item (even if they gave us the unique ID we generated).

Often, my selections for viewable levels goes back to default "error". I don't understand why critical errors are not shown by default, should be critical and error IMHO

It is really good tool, helping to stabilise the systems, enhance user experiences so they face lesser issues.

Pros

It was very to use and integrate with most of the applications we develop in technologies like ROR, GO etc. Their notifications on email, slack are instantaneous and provide real time alerts to the team. Their resolve & re-activations are perfect that alerts teams about repeat occurrences of existing system issues.

Cons

Grouping of similar issues. Few times I observed similar exceptions are grouped correctly and few times they are treated separately that causes devs to dig into the list and spend more time.

Overall Rollbar has saved me and the company a lot of effort and time by letting us know exactly where the problem is, when it happened, who it affected.

Pros

easy to integrate, deploy and use. I also love how similar error messages are grouped so I know if a problem is affecting a lot of people or not

I have no complaints or critiques about Rollbar at this time.

### "Poor integration options, buggy client, bad api"

Pros

Clever name I guess. Better than nothing. I miss honeybadger.

Cons

It’s a bad choice for AWS lambda, just painful. The client has an inscrutable api and the typescript definitions are wrong or missing. Doesn’t even support async/await or promises.
