### "Amazing Platform for Art Organizations!"

November 26, 2025

5.0

Pros

I used Submittable for a few years at my last organization, and have since got my new employer to start using it. I find it incredibly user friendly (for both admin and front end users) and value the workflow and reporting I can track all in one place! I can quickly and easily put projects together, assign jurors, and analyze results. I really enjoy that everything is kept together for each submission - I do not have to hunt down forms or notes or images; it is a one stop shop from start to finish. I have used this platform for exhibition submissions, grant applications, retail events, and so much more for our non-profit arts organization. The platform is intuitive, even for those who do not consider themselves computer-savvy. Customer support is always great too, they have a wonderful team on staff.

Cons

I am looking forward to the continued improvements and hope to see more token use throughout form questions in the future.

So we could have more control over the project questions as well as reporting and management.

### "Reliable, user-friendly, and ideal for grantmaking workflows"

December 3, 2025

5.0

Overall, our experience with Submittable has been extremely positive. The platform has strengthened every stage of our grantmaking process, from launching opportunities to reviewing, scoring, and reporting. Applicants consistently praise how easy it is to submit materials, and our review committees frequently tell us it is the best scoring interface they’ve used. Internally, we appreciate how quickly we can build new projects and how reliable the system is day-to-day. When issues arise, Submittable’s customer support team is outstanding—responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping us succeed. Submittable has become an essential part of our workflow and continues to improve over time.

Pros

Submittable has proven to be an exceptionally user-friendly platform for both our artists and grant applicants, who consistently report that the submission process is clear, intuitive, and stress-free. Our independent review committees appreciate having streamlined access to their assigned applications and find the scoring interface especially helpful, since they can view the full application and rubric side-by-side. The platform makes it significantly easier and faster for our team to create new projects, track submissions, and manage workflows. Customer service is excellent—responsive, supportive, and solutions-oriented. Submittable also provides improved data access and reporting tools that help us evaluate impact and make stronger decisions.

Cons

Reporting tools, although much better than before, can still feel limited when attempting highly detailed or multi-layered data pulls. Occasionally, updates introduce small changes that require adjustment for staff. Additionally, affordability can be a challenge for small nonprofits like ours; although the platform is highly effective, the cost can feel difficult to sustain within a modest operating budget.

### "Taos County Lodger's Tax Coordinator Review"

December 3, 2025

Overall, Submittable is one of the most comprehensive grant platforms I have used from a grant writer/administrator perspective.

Pros

The practicality and ease of use are the most useful aspects of Submittable. As the grant administrator for a grant program, I found the onboarding process and trouble-solving to be straightforward.

Cons

I suppose that, since Submittable is constantly being updated with new features, it is not a final polished product, and it will require me to reach out to the Submittable team when I come across these new features.

### "Excellent customer service and support from A to Z"

July 1, 2025

5.0

Pros

Excellent customer service! Submittable representatives were extremely thorough and helpful in guiding us in how to create an application (in our case, for a Fellowship program) in Submittable and use different kinds of forms within the platform. This allowed me (one of the main users) to be confident in adding to the application or modifying it (e.g., after the deadline passed, reopening it or create a new form to send applicants in the Submitable system to collect additional information from them). Their helpdesk chat function was also excellent, with timely support and regular staff, so you were often chatting with people who knew your project. Once applicants had questions, they, too, could contact Submittable customer service directly instead of asking me (the person behind the application for the Fellowship) how to navigate in the platform or reset their password.

Cons

I had a very positive experience using Submittable for over 2 years. I do know it was expensive but also recall that there were no other good/viable options. One functionality that Submittable could improve is the formatting so that applicants can insert paragraph breaks and double spaces. It would also be ideal to be able to export from Submittable into PDF (not Excel only).

### "Submittable was the Perfect Solution for Us!"

March 9, 2026

My overall experience with Submittable has been amazing. I LOVE that I have the freedom to modify my forms quickly and as often as I'd like. It makes using the platform a pleasure :)

Pros

I love how easy it is to make quick modifications. Easier and faster to create projects Improved administrative workflows A better experience for applicants More efficient communication and collaboration Easier access to data and reporting

Cons

There's really not much I don't like about Submittable. If I really had to come up with a complaint it would be that you can use different color fonts for certain situations.

### "Smooth Operator"

February 24, 2026

Submittable has made our application process a lot smoother over the years but there are still some aspects that could be more useful.

Pros

We like the all in one aspect of Submittable, especially the reporting capability. Additionally, the staff at Submittable have been extremely helpful over the years.

Cons

We really would like a feature that notifies us when an assigned review has been completed. This would make our lives a lot easier without having to check on every single review for each application.

### "Submittable Is An Amazing Solution"

December 11, 2025

My organization has had a great experience. It's easy to establish the account and the help videos and articles make it easy to start building projects.

Pros

Everything lives on the platform and it's very intuitive for everyone involved. • Improved administrative workflows • Easier and faster to create projects • A better experience for applicants • More efficient communication and collaboration • Quick access to data and reporting

Cons

There are always little improvements to make, but Submittable often requests feedback and launches different product updates throughout the year.

### "Submittable makes things run smoothly "

Great! Submittable helps me do my job in a way I couldn't without it. From the implementation support to, to regular product updates, it just keeps getting easier to use.

Pros

It's super easy to use for my team as a funder and for our grant applicants. It has streamlined the review process that helps keep our funding running smoothly throughout the year.

Cons

I wish the advanced reporting were a little more user-friendly, but that is being updated regularly to support what we need as users.

### "WizeHive is the right size solution"

October 1, 2024

5.0

From sales to support staff, it has been a pleasure to work with the WizeHive team to this point. Setup, while intensive, has been pretty painless. We have strong expectations for usage.

Pros

We're just on the finishing end of launching our database, transitioning out from another database provider we've used for the past 7 years. While that provider required learning the liquid coding language or contracting with their team to make any changes, WizeHive offers incredible flexibility and ease of use. As the sole staffer of a foundation, I need the database to run smoothly and for changes to be made easily, so that management does not take up too much time. WizeHive's team has been excellent in helping us get off the ground and prepare the system for launch. Work with our previous provider was kind of a nightmare in comparison. Using the system seems like it will be pretty seamless from both an administrator and grantee perspective, but we will find out once it is put into use in a few weeks. We considered WizeHive when we made our previous selection 7 years ago, and the company has grown in a way that we believe will address all our needs in an elegant way. This seems like a solution that was able to be right-sized for our needs, without additional feature bloating that complicates some of the other options on the market.

Cons

There are a few features that are still coming online that will be essential for us, including document and email merge field capability within the system. Our previous system was strong on graphic capability, we will see how Wizehive is in use in terms of being able to quickly view and access data in a clean way.

Overall a great application platform for our users. It is straightforward to create applications and review them on the back end. ### "A solid management system for grant applications"

February 15, 2024

4.0

Overall we've been pleased with Submittable because of its features and capabilities, but the prices is intimidating. That being said, we've felt that it is comparable with other similar services out there.

Pros

Submittable's application forms are very customizable and they allow for a multi-step application process and submitting grant reports. We're able to create customized reports and export the data easily, although there is a bit of a learning curve to set up the reports. Collaboration is built-in, allowing reviewers and admins to leave notes for each other and see reviews. We also liked that that collaboration can be locked down so that applicants can either see or not see that feedback. The implementation team that worked with us was great and provided very valuable training as part of our implementation project.

Cons

We've found the email's generated by Submittable have formatting issues and are often blocked by anti-spam software, so there have been some deliverability issues and some problems with reading the system-generated emails. The development team is aware of the issue (for 2 years) but nothing seems to have been done about it. Documentation is limited, and they charge for support after your initial setup period. We end up having to pay for 10 extra user licenses for our grant reviewers beyond the 2 months those licenses are really used. This is because only 10 user licenses are available in our subscription tier, and you can only purchase extra licenses in block of 10 (not individually). So far, Submittable has worked with us on the pricing to be affordable but it would be nice to have the option of adding on temporary licenses for reviewers, or even not having to pay for that level of user since they are typically only needed for 1-2 months.

### "Submittable - grant management with a lot to offer"

February 15, 2024

5.0

The experience has been fantastic. The onboard was super helpful. They seem like they really care that we get the most of the product. They've even added new features in the short time that we've been using Submittable. If they don't have functionality, they will help in finding a work around or will work on that feature.

Pros

It's very easy to use. The drag and drop features when creating forms are great. It saves tons of time. There are so many features! But it's not overwhelming. There is little training involved in form creation, so delegating is a snap.

Cons

The features around managing internal users could be more robust. We are not able to customize what program managers can view - all grant programs can be seen by everyone, partitioning would be a nice feature. Additionally, if someone leaves a grant midstream, it is going to be difficult to get a replacement user as only one user can be the primary contact. This makes updating forms and team applications more difficult.

Reason for choosing Submittable

Value and cost were primary reasons. Submittable was simpler to use as well. They had high quality customers that were well known.

Switched from

[WebGrants](https://www.capterra.com/p/10010743/WebGrants/)

They decided not to renew our contract. We also wanted something easier to use, simpler, and with a better interface. We might not have switched had our previous software solution renewed the contract.

WizeHive has a great system for onboarding and customizing the program for your specific needs. They are friendly and responsive.
