### "Doxy is an integral part of my business"

September 18, 2025

5.0

i love doxy and have been using it every time i work for the last 5 years! my practice is completely telehealth

Pros

i have been using doxy.me since around 2018, and it has been so helpful. the free version meets my needs, so it feels like its a huge asset to my business. whenever i have needed help, customer support was super quick to respond to me. it is so intuitive, so the learning curve was low, which helped when the pandemic happened, and all of my clients had to move to telehealth.

Cons

i use it daily, and its super helpful. sometimes it giltches, and everytime i start a call there is feedback that takes about 30 seconds to even out.

### "My experience has been all positives"

October 2, 2025

5.0

I have used Doxy since the pandemic (5 years) and cannot understand why medical providers would use something else. I believe that having to have an account and the meeting number nonsense gets in the way of things.

Pros

The ease of use for both myself and clients. I use doxy not only for telehealth appointments but it's what I use exclusively for consultations with potential new clients. I use the tier that has no charge and it's been more than enough for my needs.

Cons

I can't think of anything that I would indicate that I don't like. There's nothing that I've had happen in using doxy that was negative. Back in 2020-2021 there were occasionally connection problems, but I did not attribute that to doxy's service.

Reason for choosing Doxy.me

I had always liked Doxy for the ease of use, especially when directing consultations where to meet. And since AI note assistant is something I use, continuing telehealth on doxy has continued to be very easy

### "Nice basic system"

October 6, 2025

Convenient but not like Zoom. Quality is not nearly the same. Is HIPAA Compliant which is essential

Pros

The price and availability. Easy to use. fairly reliable. Easy to report Problems. Responsive to complaints.

Cons

Can be very glitchy with some people and quality varies greatly. Voice is sometimes very very choppy

### "Doxy.me makes my professional life much easier!"

July 8, 2026

5.0

Very good. I can access the website quickly when I am between clients. I do not have to have second thoughts about whether I will be able to connect with the client.

Pros

That it's reliable and will allow me to use my biolateral music to aide in the healing process. All the features it has.

Cons

I like everything about it -- mainly that it's HIPPA compliant and secure. I can't answer this question the way you want!

### "Simplicity and HIPPA compliant"

April 13, 2026

4.0

Ive enjoyed using it but I am unable to use it consistenly (with all clients) because of the tech issues mentioned above. Not worth paying for but the free version is good enough for certain purposes.

Pros

HIPPA compliance. Ease of logging in for clients and provider. Having your own provider URL (no portal creation necessary for clients). Simplicity of the interface.

Cons

High cost to purchase additional features like screen sharing. Often has an echo when clients speak. Poor connections, cutting out, freezing, needing to restart calls to help mitigate that.

### "7 Yrs a Doxy Doc & it's only gotten Better!!"

June 22, 2025

5.0

I'm a physician licensed in 3 states, and TeleMedicine is a must!! I can get on Doxy as easy on my phone on the road as I can on my laptop. It occasionally loses video if I have minimal service bars, but often audio continues till signal is better to regain video.

Pros

1 - Best FREE option on the market I know of that is secure & dependable. I use it to see pts daily, and have for several years now. They have improved & fixed sooo many - dare I say all? (cuz I haven't seen any this year) of the Covid era glitchs I used to encounter. I now see pts daily - using the FREE version - some pts have trouble figuring out how to navigate the waiting room ...granted mostly technically challenged & have to be literally walked thru it by someone that understands basic phone internet ... but once on, it's a piece of cake.

Cons

I guess I'll have to get the paid version so I can update the waiting room message, as it's several years outdated & I see NO way to update it with the FREE version???

### "Grateful for ease of use"

October 3, 2025

I was intimidated by the idea of having to do telehealth but Doxy is the best I could have hoped for.

Pros

Cons

### "Doxy.me and Surviving the Pandemic"

December 23, 2025

5.0

The company has been so great to work with. The folks who started out with my organization in the beginning during the pandemic were incredibly caring and attentive. That relationship has continued to this day.

Pros

This product is easy to use and within 2 weeks I was able to learn how to use it myself and create content to educate my entire health center and get us up and attending to patients during the pandemic.

Cons

At first when the camera or microphone didn't work, I had no idea why and had to learn how to troubleshoot things like that, but this is part of all platforms.

### "Incredibly reliable free resource that has saved me!"

June 28, 2025

5.0

As a solo practitioner, I was looking for something that would not add to my monthly expenses, would be consistently reliable for clients, and would give me a static link. Doxy.me has saved me many times when my \[other\] company-specific EHR video platform would have serious issues in sound sycing. I would inform my clients to meet me at doxy.me. Doxy.me has now become my main video option for clients and it is absolutely free!

Pros

Doxy.me has been fabulously reliable, incredibly userfriendly, and an incredible deal! I love Doxy.me for seeing my mental health clients. I love that my company name is in the static link I can give any clients. The interface is consistently great for video calls.

Cons

NOTHING! I get a free, HIPAA-compliant service to use whenever I need. Okay, honestly, the worst thing I could say is that sometimes clients can hear themselves speak for the first 5 seconds of a video call. It has always gone away quickly.

### "Very user friendly software; Highly recommend!"

June 26, 2025

5.0

Being not that tech savvy, at first I was apprehensive to try doxy.me; however, I found it to be VERY easy to use and very user friendly. I've been highly satisfied with Doxy.me.

Pros

I've been using doxy.me for a number of years now in my solo private practice. A colleague recommended it to me, and since I don't have as much volume as a group practice, this is a perfect solution as I don't pay anything for it, it is VERY user friendly, and meets HIPAA requirements as well.

Cons

Occasionally there's a little tech difficulties; that is mostly due to connection issues on the part of my client or myself, and usually if we close the session and restart, it gets cleared up.

### "Doxy is the most professional and HIPAA compliant platform for counselors and doctors."

October 23, 2024

5.0

Pros

Doxy is HIPAA compliant, and the platform is easy to use for myself and my clients. Clients do not need to download anything or enter personal information. They click on the secure link that I provide to them. Our connection is reliable unless one of us has WIFI issues (which is not Doxy's fault). I am thrilled with Doxy and feel it is more professional, protective, and secure than other platforms.

Cons

I love Doxy! Doxy is the most professional and HIPAA compliant platform I have found for counselors and doctors.

### "Affordable and simple telehealth solution -- recommended but with a few gotchas"

June 17, 2022

4.0

I've aided in selecting and deploying (Doxy and other solutions) at numerous practices. It is a safe and recommended choice. It's simple to administrate and use. Despite the "peer to peer" architecture it's reasonably reliable. Please make sure your provider computers have an SSD hard drive and at least a Core i5 or similar processor. Please make sure your practice has fast Internet, preferably fiber. Please train your providers how to restart their Chrome browser if there is an issue access the Microphone. Always a good idea to do this 5 minutes before a telehealth call.

Pros

#1 Doxy.me is a very affordable solution. #2 Doxy is healthcare specific (unlike Zoom and Teams). #3 Doxy is also very simple! It is easy to configure and centrally manage by IT, or even by a lightly practice administrator. You can do it! : ) From a central management website the admin can create providers' custom weblinks, that can be given to patients.

Cons

#1 Customer support is not good. It's a chat. Historically I've waited 12 - 24 hours for a reply. Not acceptable. Not when you have providers/owners asking for clarity on issues. Doxy, if you are listening, offer an optional paid support option with a phone number. Most practices would gladly pay for US-based good quality support. #2 Doxy uses a web browser -- ideally Chrome. It is not uncommon to need to restart chrome for better performance or if a micrphone/webcam "stops working." Make sure your computers have an SSD or M.2 hard drive --- not a mechanical hard drive. Or Chrome will be slow, and so will be Doxy! #3 Doxy uses peer to peer technology for its video calls. This is highly disappointing. The provider's computer/device directly talks across the Internet to the patient's computer or phone. Doxy is ESPECIALLY sensitive to a good Internet connection at your practice ... and also at your patient's home or cellular network! Make sure you have fast fiber Internet or similar FAST connection for your providers. Warn them that using Doxy on their phone or at home is at the mercy of their cellular or home Internet connection. Warn them that 1/2 the time the patient's slow Internet or slow computer may cause minor glitches.

### "So happy I switched!"

October 12, 2021

5.0

My appointment reminders, which I send myself, have the same meeting link creating simplicity for my clients. There are not very many distractions with certain extra features and the screen size defaults in a way that I have the best opportunity to observe my client's non-verbals. It helps me to do the best version of my work when I'm not doing it face to face.

Pros

I really enjoy how doxy.me gives me one link to use all the time. It's simple in overall use. It's designed for the needs of clinicians and provides those needs at a substantially reduced price of other popular platforms that do not cater to clinicians. I particularly like the "pay by the day option" as I think is a great flexibility for clinicians who are still building their caseload. I also viewed it from the client's perspective and it provides a generally professional look while also being easy for the clients to use with their devices.

Cons

When I log on, the camera and microphone are already on. I would like the option to default them to being off.

Switched from

[Webex Suite](https://www.capterra.com/p/237272/Webex/)

I had paid for Cisco Webex. One day, without warning, I wanted to log-in to see my clients and I could not log-in. My client's could not log in either. Later, I found out my account was not working because they were upgrading it. I did not ask for the upgrade and after exploring the new design, I was not satisfied. On that day, I had to pivot quickly which caused unnecessary delays. After I completed my sessions that day, I explored Doxy.Me of which I had previously heard about and found it much easier to use. It gave me peace of mind about how I was managing my clients.

Cons

### "The reliability sells this site."

March 23, 2025

5.0

I have used Doxyme since the Pandemic. The experience has been positive and reliable. When I want to do a 'group' session with a couple, I can add that feature for the one session at a modest price.

Pros

I appreciate the reliability of the site and the ability to test my connection prior to linking with the client.

Cons

I have no "cons." Doxyme has allowed me some flexibility for people who cannot come to the office. I am a very small private practice; Doxyme allows me to better meet my client needs

### "A pretty good experience overall "

May 4, 2023

5.0

Overall doxy has been my go-to platform for almost all of my therapy sessions. It has been reliable with very few exceptions. Lately (April 2023) I've noticed a less robust connection, but I also moved so it could be my location or new service provider. Not sure yet!

Pros

I most appreciate the ease of use. Clients don't need special software and can quickly be brought to my waiting room with one click. I also appreciate that this is HIPAA compliant so I can meet my ethical requirement to provide a secure site for clients, especially those paying with medical insurance. I am grateful for the free service!

Cons

It would be great if there was a (loud?) notification sound when sending a message in the chat feature, because I've noticed when I send a message, many times my clients don't even realize I've sent one.For those people saying the connection is bad with clients doing the calls from their car; I've come to realize that when someone logs in from their phone the connection is way better if the person turns off their WiFi on their phone. It seems like leaving the WiFi on causes the phone to keep searching for WiFi connections and slows down the connection. It works WAY better using the data, so if my clients have unlimited data I always recommend they use their data plan for the call.

### "Doxy is an excellent choice for telehealth users in small or private practices"

July 11, 2023

5.0

Working from home to provide telehealth in a secure environment without my clients needing to be computer savvy.

Pros

Clients don't need to download or install software or know much about computers to be able to use this. Clients don't need to sign up on an email list and can use pseudonyms to check in if that is important to them for on-line work. Works from mobile devices (phones and tablets) as well as computers. HIPAA compliant. FREE for individual users; reasonable price for more bells and whistles.

Cons

I am only using the free version for now as I have another therapy software program that does the other functions, so I can't speak to what features it needs, since I am not paying for them/can't use them.Would like a free trial, of even a few days, to evaluate them, and from what I can tell you have to pay and sign up to do that with option of cancelling later. I want to see more clearly what I'd be paying for rather than have to cancel.

December 20, 2023

4.0

Extremely positive overall, mostly due to the HIPAA compliance with ease of use for clients and no required identification, which really makes clients comfortable on a platform they've never used before. No complaints from them!

Pros

Flexiblity, client anonymity, a basic package option that does not require using or even purchasing features I have zero interest in utilizing.

Cons

Audio quality is inconsistent but reliability has improved since access problems during high demand in 2020.

Reason for choosing Doxy.me

For the reasons stated in my overall experience section and in the "what I like most" section.
