Doxy made this easy! And my patients appreciate not having to drive far to see me (many came from a long distance). Pros Very easy to use, both me and patients. Very much like the "free" aspect -- less overhead is very nice! Cons I only use it for video conferencing with patients; only problem is when wifi connections aren't good - picture often freezes. I and my clients also love the waiting room feature. Cons There had been an earlier feature where I could boost the quality by clicking on a button. Now that option requires an upgraded service and a fee. Also, I use the conversation box to take notes during the session; would love for the option to make the font bold! Pros It is great to get into a visit with a client that doesn't require any downloads, is as easy as sending a link, and is fast and free. Cons I haven't found a con yet. Haven't had a problem to discuss with customer service. Outpatient Supervisor Hospital & Health Care Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great potential, too many technical issues" January 7, 2021 2.0 We selected this telehealth option at the beginning of the year for virtual client counseling sessions. We used it infrequently until March when Covid hit. For the next 6 months we had nothing but technical problems with it. The ease of use and functionality were great, but 50% of the time our sessions were interrupted due to technical failure. When a competing platform became HIPAA compliant, we switched to them and had no further technical issues. Pros Ease of deployment, ease of start-up for new users, customizable options for the waiting room and a detailed Meeting History were all bonuses. A big benefit was a short URL/name for waiting rooms, which clients could manually type in if they lost the email or text with the initial link. The fact that they are a purely HIPAA compliant telehealth platform was the main selling point. Overall, it has great potential to be a solid platform for telehealth sessions. Cons Technical issues. A significant amount of them - almost 50% of our sessions could not be completed due to technical problems. They were initially discounted as internet/wifi issues or operator error, but after months, they still persisted. Switching to a competing product removed almost all technical problems. Pros This platform is simple to use (for the healthcare provider and patient). The client/customer service team is quick to respond to requests. Cons There are a lot of great reporting features; however for our company and how they operate, it would work great if there was a more specific reporting feature of meeting details. Which I am absolutely grateful for! Also, I have had more success using it than other sites, like Sykpe and Zoom with my clients, especially with it being HIPPA compliant. I would highly recommend it to other therapist. Pros This product is very easy for not only practitioners to use but clients as well. Cons I have found no "cons" for the software. Hospital visits have been avoided because a real-time encounter can happen for assessment versus directing clients to ER or Crisis clinic for evaluation. Fortunately where I practice (VA) has parity laws for telehealth so most insurance companies cover this service the same as an in-office visit. Pros This software has been a no cost option to provide online health care to client. It is easy to use. It allows my practice more flexibility while not raising over-head. Online support was good when needed. Cons Can be a little glitchy at times, but with multiple uses have learned that it is usually because the end-user doesn't have the processing power or strong wifi signal. Psychologist Mental Health Care Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Good Value Service" April 19, 2021 4.0 I started with the free version of Doxy.me, then switched to the paid version, then back to the free version for about the last six months. I did not find that the features on the paid version were helpful to a solo therapist and the possibility for better video quality did not help because I am in a rural area with already spotty internet and often my clients did not have strong enough internet to have better video quality. Pros It is a great value to start with. I love that it is the same link each week for my clients, so it makes it easier for us to connect. I appreciate the chat box as well, so I can share resources in sessions. Cons Occasionally the connection is glitchy. It is typically about internet speed of the users, rather than the platform itself. I live on an island and to some people it's fairly remote. I have had no technical issues with the platform itself. I have to be aware of the limits of island life. Doxy.me is a great platform. No matter where you are in the world. It seems to work very well. Pros The platform is reliable and easy to use. I have been using Doxy.me since the beginning of the Pandemic. It has been a blessing. The reliability is great. I live on an island and I have had very few problems with the platform itself. The power goes out frequently on the island. I have a backup generator. It only take a few minutes for my WiFi to kick in after a power outage. The reliability of Doxy.me is excellent. Cons I have not had to contact customer service. I have no significant dislikes about the platform. It was very easy to use for both myself and my patients. No patient has ever complained about the product. They had no trouble using it. The patient does not need to install any software and they can use it from their smart phone, tablet or desktop. I highly recommend this product. Pros It was so easy to start using. Great audio, video quality. Cons Nothing really. Occasionally, due to a poor internet connection, the audio or video will cut out, but this is a common issue with any such product.
