There are easy, intuitive features such as mic on/off, video on/off, screen share, and file transfer. I appreciate that it's HIPPA compliant. Cons The cost is a little much for a paid plan, when I consider that I could be using Zoom for free... but people are "Zoomed out" and I like the professional/healthcare design. Sessions are difficult when the video is glitchy - but that is probably more of a function of users' wifi more than anything. Doxy seems to compensate well when there are glitches. January 13, 2022 5.0 Pros Doxy.me has revolutionized the way I receive health services as a college student. Living on an urban campus, health providers can sometimes be a far distance, and thus an expensive commute, away. With Doxy.me I have been able to receive safe, secure telemedicine which not only allows me to see such providers from the comfort of my campus with its intuitive platform. I use the free version so the value is obviously above all. Cons I have no real complaints as the product fulfills all the needs I have in carrying out a telehealth mental health practice. Mental Health Therapist Mental Health Care Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Easy to use, secure, safe" May 19, 2021 4.0 I was asked to come onboard with an EAP group providing mental health services to people over a fairly wide area - some areas that were essentially without services available. I will admit initially I was a little concerned that using video would not feel like a real connection but I was wrong - I almost think some prefer the video connection and not a face to face contact. I have found that we are able to reach more people and it works really well. It is easy, convenient, for both parties. Great solution to getting services to people that have needed them due to the pandemic and only see it continuing going forward. Pros I think the overall ease of use - quality of the program itself (connection, picture, etc) is great. I had no trouble using right away - very intuitive, easy. Cons I cannot say there has been anything I like least...........I sometimes have audio issues with some of my clients - have not been able to ascertain if it was their issue or mine but we were able to work it out by using the phone plus the video picture (turning audio off essentially). Not sure what that is/was but we have been able to make it work. Pros Hard to write pros if you can't have a session due to Doxy.me and their lack of support. When it works it is good. Cons At times unable for clients to tell if I am on nor are able to get into the waiting room. Same for me I can not tell if they are waiting. So there is no session (I think they are a no show and they think I am a no show). In mental health, my income depends on it and there are times that someone is sucidal. Report this to Doxyme. Pros It is HIPPA compliant and free; I'm very grateful; thank you. Cons It is very unstable. I often have to mute the audio and ask my client to use the phone for the audio so that at least our connectivity and call won't be stalled. Even when it seems like both sides have good wifi, we can't guarantee a smooth session. Even the optimized function doesn't help. At least half my patients have a problem on any given week. The patient has to have SUPER wifi and, perhaps, great hardware for it to work. But the sound quality is awful w/o earphones, and the picture quality highly variable. Pros Doxy is a great solution for video chats. I prefer Doxy over many of the "leading" industry rivals like Skype, Zoom, Hangouts, etc. because: a) HIPAA Compliant b) Entirely web-based c) Easy to use d) Waiting room with customization e) Great conversation starter anytime someone new joins a video chat with me Cons There are a few cons, but I do hope that these features will be developed overtime. I could be missing it, but I don't believe there is a way to record calls - or at least I haven't been able to in previous sessions. Additionally, some of my colleagues that join meetings have difficulty sharing their screen or requesting permission to. I also would not be opposed to a desktop application either. I think for users with premium accounts, more features can be packed into a desktop application built on electron while still allowing users without an account to easily join my meeting without downloading anything. This would help with settings being lost after clearing my browser cache (which I have clear every time I close the firefox app). Clients find it generally easy to use. Cons I wish the free version would allow a 3rd party, even if just for a limited amount of time (say, an hour a month). Doxy is incredibly effective just due to how easy it is to use. I would highly recommend this for any physician's office that has not already switched to TeleMedicine. Pros Doxy.me is great for its versatility and simplicity of use. The fact that it does not require an app to use makes it very accessible for the vast majority of patients. We've been able to use it for most of our patients so long as they have a smartphone. Cons There are some occasional oddities with certain hardware. With one of our physicians, utilizing Doxy with an iPhone 8 caused a clicking feedback issue that resolved when we switched to a PC with a webcam. I have used this for 3 years and have no complaints. My clients can log in easily. Pros I love being able to use the app. Simple for my clients to access, easy for providers to use. No muss no fuss basically. Cons A bit limited on the bells and whistles especially if using the free version. No associated EMR with this application.
