Pros I use it often and it's really easy for my Clients to access, and they never have to provide identifying information about themselves. Cons Sometimes the picture is blurry. There are several times each month when I have to abandon the platform and switch to phone sessions with my Clients. User friendly for patients. Free. Accessible from any computer. I like that you can customize the "waiting room" screen. Cons Image quality is often lower than what you could get with Facetime or Skype. Seems to require higher bandwidth connection, so images are often somewhat grainy or freeze. Cons It's sometimes spotty in terms of freezing images or where image blurs out. It is user friendly; I've not yet had a new client who expressed any trouble logging in. Cons I have trouble with the quality at times; often must use my phone for audio, leaving the DOXY.me for video only. It was a critical part of our response during the pandemic. I loved being able to set up my own waiting room notes/videos. It was simple to notify my clients of the log in information. Most people are very ashamed of the state they are in, and somehow not having to go to an office and confess their state is helpful to them. Pros Easy to use, nothing to download on the client's end. Client's are often at work, so can't use the office computers. Most of my clients go out to their cars for the appointment. Generally very reliable if the client has good cell service. I have the free version, so I can't comment on the usability of the other options. I like that it is free, and HIPPA compliant. I looked at a lot of different programs when I started and funds were tight. Cons Most of my people have iphones, so the app is great. I wish their was an app for those people using Android phones, as it is a little clunkier going onto the doxy.me website and in through that way. COVID impacted face-to-face meetings/sessions and Doxy. me made it possible to feel as if we are together. I know that the clients appreciate it. Pros All features available to me are impactful for both myself and the client. The client finds the link extremely user-friendly. I'm told by my colleagues who've opted to upgrade to a paid version that any of the challenges I've had are corrected with the paid versions. Pros I appreciate that a free version is offered that is HIPAA compliant. Also that it is very easy to use even for someone like me who is not especially techno savvy. My clients also are able to use it without difficulty almost all the time. Therapist Health, Wellness and Fitness Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "It works alright" October 11, 2022 4.0 As a non-profit mental health therapist working from home once the Pandemic hit, Doxy.me was the 1st HIPAA compliant video conferencing software we used. It worked alright for our team. I do recall having technical issues: client is in the waiting room, but I can't see them, connection issues and lots of issues with audio and/or video would not work & lots of time spent on troubleshooting. We switched to Zoom after 4 months with Doxy, so maybe they have gotten better; I can only speak to March 2020-July/Aug 2020. The import that was that it helped us connect with our clients that we hadn't seen in over a month. Pros I liked the virtual waiting room for my clients as some are early and it was nice to know they had a place to be until it our session time. I started with the free trial and moved up to the professional level so that I could share documents with my clients. I recommend it to peers frequently and I will continue to do so. Pros Doxy.me is easy for my clients and me to use. I just share a link with my clients and they can access my virtual waiting room. I personalized my waiting room with my headshot and simple instructions. The software has been improved over the past 2.5 years while I've used it and now Doxy.me is even more accessible. Cons It seemed to have difficulty supporting all the heavy traffic due to COVID, but that's probably true about most platforms. I still recommended Doxy.me to my colleagues. " April 26, 2018 3.0 It has given me the opportunity to ease into Telebehavioral Health without any cost. Not sure if a paid platform would improve the service. I question if I paid Doxy.me that the service would improve. Pros It's free for now, because I am just beginning. It works most of the time. Once the client is set up on the platform it is easy to connect. Cons Works only with Google Chrome. It is suppose to work with Firefox, but it doesn't. I'm in Seattle, people here use Windows. I have lower monthly expenses. The rapport building with my client translates over the internet which was a concern of mine starting out. It's a wonderful way to reach clients that need my expertise but live in isolated areas of California. Pros How easily I am able to log on daily. How easily and simple it is for clients, they just follow my link! Cons The bot that pops up at the start is a little daunting sometimes. Kinda like a nosy neighbor peering over my fence.
