This is the first time as a provider that I've used telehealth with clients. I wish all of my clients had been able/chosen to utilize Doxy.me, but many don't have good internet and others don't like any type of telehealth for whatever reason. Pros I love how easy it is to use both for me and for my clients. I was able to give my clients a link and basic instructions for logging into my waiting room. I also love having the waiting room where I can post my photo and our company logo so clients know they are in the right place. I've also been able to add a depression inventory and suicidality checklist for clients to read through while they wait for their appointment. Cons I've had a few audio/video issues with my rural clients who may not have strong internet connections. Reason for choosing Doxy.me We looked into Zoom Healthcare since we were using Zoom for our company meetings. We also looked at Webex as some of our training partners were using it. Pros Let me begin by stating that I did not believe that I would be providing telemedicine services during my practicing lifetime, but as with all things, life has a way of throwing curveballs - enter COVID-19. As a private practitioner providing addiction medicine services, Doxy.me has been a godsend for my practice and has provided me with the opportunity to continue to see the patients in my small private practice without having to spend capital (which I do not have) investing in telemedicine software. It is easy to use and patient and physician friendly. It has also permitted to me to provide addiction medicine consulting services in the hospital which have been well received by staff and physicians. Thank You Doxy.me staff for providing private practitioners with a free, HIPPA-compliant telemedicine tool! Pros Doxy is very easy to use and set up for telehealth. Even with the free version, the connection is usually good or fixable if there are technical glitches. Most of the time -- 99% of the time really -- you just log out and log back in and any connection difficulties are resolved. I can see and hear my clients clearly and we appreciate being able to work together on the doxy platform. Cons Doxy is harder for clients to use on their phones and phone calls interrupt the session. Very simple to use. Pros I am a teletheraphy patient and my counselor uses this platform. - I really appreciate the HIPAA compliance. I wouldn't feel nearly as comfortable doing therapy via Skype or Facetime; it feels secure and official. I know my information is safe - From the patient side, it's extremely easy to use. All I have to do is join the waiting room. - The mobile app is really good. It has all the functionality needed and makes it even easier for me to access my therapist. - I love that it's free to use! Cons \- I'm not sure if it's my therapists internet connection (she is in a different continent than I am), or even mine, but we experience freezing and warped audio more often than I would like. Pros I use this software for telehealth appointments. It works great and I almost never have issues with the quality of video and sound. I actually prefer it to zoom. I decided I would give it a try as a provider, I am a very small business, and did not establish a workable clientele, I do believe Doxy.me helped me increase my clientele, because clients were writing it as part of their review statement to my services. I love Doxy.me as it is easy to use at all ages. Pros I would like to first start with Doxy.me is so user friendly either as a patient or a provider. It is HIPAA compliant. Definitely made providing therapy online much easier. The option to use the software either on a computer- desk top, laptop, as well as an mobile friendly. The app is easy to download, get signed up and use immediately. Cons I cannot specifically point out anything I don't like about this software, it definitely better than what I was using before. I use the free version and have found it meets the needs of my small practice. It is so user friendly and easy for my clients to navigate. I've never had issues with the platform. The one thing a clinician should note is that they will need to use the paid version if they clients in different locations. Cons I have no criticisms of the software at this time. Even more so during the COVID-19 restrictions, it has allowed people to access care who would otherwise not have a way to do so. Pros As a counselor, it was very important to me to be able to offer a secure place for my clients to access counseling. I am in private practice as a sole proprietor so I didn't want to spend a bunch of money or a lot of time figuring out a new system. Fortunately, Doxy.me allowed me to get set up with out needing support, and has allowed me to continue to see clients when they couldn't come to the office, which now has become a bigger issues than ever before. I appreciate being able to present a professional, easy to use service to my clients and to guard their privacy at the same time. Hassle free and helpful. I am very pleased with the product. Cons I live in Alaska, so connectivity can be an issue. There are times when the wifi speed inhibits connection, but generally, it's not a problem. Earlier it was difficult to know where the difficulty existed with frozen or dropped calls. In the last year that has changed significantly. This company is great at asking the community for input and making changes, because of this I am loyal.
