There is no app to download so even my elderly patients find it easy to use. We are continuing and will continue to use Doxy when patients can return to my office. Pros Three months ago we were thrown into Telehealth just like everyone else and I went looking for one that was affordable and user friendly. Doxy fit the bill! Cons I had trouble with the admin set up. It was hard to understand how to move from Pro to Clinic and I messed it up but \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] has been helpful in straightening it all out. The setup is professional and user-friendly. Clients and I can access Doxy via mobile phone, which is great. Cons Occasional (but too frequent) glitches in the connection (dropped calls, connection freezes, etc.) that are frustrating when they occur during a therapy session. I use the free version so perhaps this is improved with the paid version, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it to upgrade. Paying to be able to send text from it and it will not work. This program needed the bugs worked out before they launched and and stole peoples money for something they advertise that does not work. It’s easy for clients to figure out with no downloads. Cons I sometimes have connectivity problems but it seems to be the clients internet that causes problems. One couple and about half of the teenagers I work with did not like it because they did not feel they had a confidential space to talk in. Other than this, most people were satisfied. Pros What I like most about the software is its stability. Others have complained of crashes, but the paid version I'm using has not had any problems on my high-speed wifi. Cons I'd like the ability to make appointments and send out appointment reminders. Reason for choosing Doxy.me It feels more professional. I like the "waiting room" feature. Cons I miss being able to set up my waiting room in the free version. I would probably pay for a cheaper version that included this. There is a waiting room where you click to start session. I appreciate the ease of logging in and that the sessions are password protected. It has made connecting with clients who would miss sessions due to barriers much easier. I'm very grateful for this software. Cons It is important for your clients to have an up to date computer or iPad. This can be hard to explain to those that aren't familiar with technology. Pros For PC or Android users, you only need to open your browser and type in link to access dashboard or waiting room. No registration needed for clients and no waiting needed for clinicians. You receive an alert when a client signs in. For Apple users, you will need to download the app but still no registration needed for clients. Love that no one needs much software for it to work" May 14, 2018 4.0 HIPPA compliance. Ease of use. A lot of buy in from the other users. Minimal cost or support up front. Pros How easy it is. It is free, HIPPA compliant. There are usually minimal disruptions to the feed. So quick to load and the quality is really great. Cons The camera can't turn around on the patient side (front and back facing camera) no screen sharing for the free version. If the person navigates away from the app on a phone it drops the call. Easy to use - clients only need to have one link and no sign ins for them. Love there is an app for clients or clinicians. Pretty consistent to connection only having some issues from time to time but a restart of the browser window usually will be the worst that needs to happen. Cons It can be choppy connections at times, freezes at times, and as a non-profit just could not afford a monthly service to increase the reliability. Pros This is an extremely easy product to set up and use and it does exactly what it says; provides a way to provide virtual psychotherapy in a HIPPA compliant space. I have been using the free version about 0-2 times per week with no difficulty on my end and none from Doxy's end as far as I can tell. Cons Obviously, it would be nice to customize a waiting room on the free service, but I can see why they don't do that. Pros Easy platform to use for teleheath compared to the previous we tried. Patient friendly as well. Cons The audio/video quality on the free version seems to be less than desirable at times.
