TimberScan offers features that we still do not have in our new accounting system and our company is interested in exploring if it is possible to use Timberscan or something similar with our new system which is the highest praise I can give. Pros Reliable and fast, our accounts payable and document control personal have always found TimberScan up to task. New employees have always been able to be trained on it very quickly as well. Cons Difficult to deploy, you will most likely require the TimberScan team to perform any installation or re-installation of TimberScan, though I have noticed in more recent years they have invested in better deployment technology. Difficult to use when you are not on the same intranet as the server. Pros I am able to process and submit invoices with ease using Timberscan. I am in charge of daily purchases for our Service department, so utilizing timberscan is a daily god-send. Cons It can be slow at times, but that seems to be when I am running through an external VPN or a Wifi network .. when Hard-Wired it runs smoothly. Very easy to use. Pros Very easy for our Project Managers to process their invoicing and have it go down the approval chain. It's also very easy to train users on how to use the software. Cons The Timberscan system process often times hangs when a computer has been on too much. This isn't too big of a deal though, because it's easily resolved with a computer restart. Pros I love the approval process for the software, you can send an email from the software to the supervisors to approve purchases, they also have a great 3 way verification method Cons I haven't really seen any negative thing about it, it does what it is design for, they still need to work on getting the software to better read the incoming invoices, but even that is pretty good. Pros I like the feasibility of being able to pay subcontractors through this software. It makes it easy to see who is remaining to be paid and who is still awaiting payment. I love being able to send an invoice to someone else in my office if the item does not apply to me and be able to create comments on the actual invoice Cons What I like least is that the software looks like it is still running on an old Windows software. Things tend to run real slow and loading different invoices is difficult which makes approving and sending notes/comments can take longer than it should. This is really convenient because it notifies me when I have a new invoice that needs to be coded. IA can easily code them and then it integrates with our accounting. Before it was kind of a pain to do invoices because we would have to either print them out and hand write on them or use a pdf editor and code them. This is a simple system to help keep track of the invoices as well. I can easily find all of the invoices I have coded and sort through them. Before I had all my invoices saved in a folder and would have to sort by date. This is a much more simple system for invoicing and project management. Cons I do not like that it always makes you open a new window for everything. I would like to stay in the same window that I am working in. I'm unsure if there is an option to take this off but it always makes you open new windows. Pros The drag and drop functionality is second to none. YOu drag it into teh software, and it is automatiacally routed to the right person. Cons The set up can be a bit tricky, I would like to see that imrpoved. Once set up thought, it is fully automatic.
