AI engine was good at detecting the appropriate information. The AI engine seemed to recognize similar documents that followed on later and got the processing correct on the first try. Cons limited to Templates or using the Freeform AI engine. You should be able to use both. You should be able to select what pages to process for Templates vs regular AI and it would be good to allow flexible page processing based upon the first page of data. Two good points here. On combining Templates and AI, you are not the first to ask, and we are looking into it, there is an open feedback item you can upvote: https://feedback.parseur.com. On not wanting to burn credits processing every page: that one you can already do today. Parseur has page processing that lets you limit which pages get parsed, the one catch is you currently set it by entering page numbers or ranges yourself rather than it being automatic. MP Matthew P. If your time is valuable don't use ChatGPT (it'll take you hours of back and forth to get a simple task corrected) Pros I tried using ChatGPT (pro version) to create a spreadsheet from pdfs with contacts on it (hundreds of pages) It sucked, data and fields were constantly wrong. Found Parseur used it and now the extraction data is nearly 100% accurate and the exported excel spreadsheets are consistent and accurate. Now it's super simple (and accurate) for me to upload data to my CRM Cons Cost per page can get expensive, fast. monthly subscription of say 100 pages per month expires after each month. 1200 page annual pay will expire after a year. On the pricing: you're right that unused pages don't roll over, and there are two ways around that. If a monthly plan keeps expiring with pages to spare, pick a tier slightly below your usage and turn on early auto-renew, it tops you up when you hit the limit instead of leaving pages on the table. Also you may consider the yearly plans that comes with three months free, with credits that last the full year instead of resetting monthly. You can even combine both! On pricing, our smallest paid plan is 100 pages a month, but for a very tiny volume the free plan covers 20 pages a month for good, not just as a trial. I would watch the movie. And thanks for the honest feedback! On price, fair, Parseur is really built for SMBs and teams, so for a solo user it can feel a touch steep, no argument. On finishing a project that spills over your monthly quota: we do not do one-off credits, but there is something that solves the same problem, an early auto-renew option. Switch it on and if you hit your quota before the period ends, Parseur renews the same plan early so you can keep going without interruption. We found it simpler than top ups in practice. I searched google for "AI tool to extract data from over 5,000 PDF of electrical bills and put in to an excel file". I was given 3 options. I viewed all of them. Parseur was priced right and fit my description perfectly. Pros I was able to try out the software using their "free" plan to see if it would even work for me, before I ended up uploading over 5,700 PDFs of electrical bills. Even better was that each PDF was 3 pages each, but there is a setting that I was able to use that would only scan the 1st page. The data collected was neatly organized in an excel file. There was a minor hiccup in how the data was being displayed, but a quick online chat with one of there techs was able to resolve the issue (which was due to user error). Looks like their program can extract and analyze a lot, but for me I got everything I needed out of it. Can't go wrong with their pricing too! Cons With any AI product, it requires some general understanding of how you need to word the instructions. I would be nice if there was a guided tutorial once you signed up. That might exists, and I just didn't see it. If so, make it more transparent. I’ve tried dozens of AI model document parsing programs and so far this is the best one I’ve seen by far. Pros I love how intuitive the AI model is and how well it is understanding what I’m looking to do. It even read handwritten checks and parsed them as line items. Cons The document to template to sample to etc process is a bit confusing. You have to upload a doc, process it, then create a template. But then that removes the ability to download the data from that doc which means you have to upload another doc which uses credits. And the AI is different than the template which has to be enabled or disabled if you’re wanting to use the Fields model. Maybe I’m just confused while using it but there are a few too many steps in that process for me. Let me untangle the process a bit, because some of it is smoother than it looked. Using a document as a template sample does not lock you out of its data or mean you have to re upload it and spend another credit, the data stays available. And templates versus AI is not an either or you have to toggle: in a single mailbox Parseur tries to match a document to your existing templates first, then automatically falls back to the AI engine if none fit. Plenty of competitors make you upload and annotate piles of documents before you can extract anything, and that is a lot of wasted effort for results our AI gives you out of the box. You still get control through AI instructions to shape exactly what it extracts. If you ever hit a recurring issue that instructions cannot solve, please tell our support team, that is exactly the kind of thing we want to hear and improve on.
