NOT GREAT VERY FRUSTRATING WHEN NOTHING SEEMS TO GO THE WAY IT SHOULD . I THINK WITH SOME MORE WORK IT CAN BE SOMETHING GREAT

Pros

ITS NOT AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. THERE IS ALOT OF BUGS AND IT SEEMS LIKE A SCAM. I THINK THERE IS ISSUES THAT STILL NEEDS TO BE WORKED OUT

Cons

THAT IT DOES NOT DELIVER WHAT IT SAYS IT DOES. I ALSO FIND IT HARD TO CANCEL. I DONT THINK THEY REALLY PUT ENOUGH EFFORT INTO THIS

Pros

All in one engine and marketplace to produce top quality games, but easy enough to get started as a beginner.

Cons

It's very confusing about what is tracked in the visual editor versus what is stored in code and the link betweek the two.

Overall, Unity has been a chaotic but lovable companion on my game developer journey. It lets you build cool stuff, break things spectacularly, and learn way more than you expected, all while somehow keeping you convinced that your dream game is totally within reach.

Pros

Unity makes you feel like a game developer wizard even when you barely know what you’re doing. The interface is friendly, the asset store is basically a treasure chest of “please save my project,” and the community has a tutorial for literally everything, including mistakes you didn’t even know you were about to make.

Cons

Some tools and workflows can feel a bit clunky, especially when projects get large. Performance issues pop up if you’re not careful, and certain features or add‑ons can get pricey if you’re trying to keep things budget‑friendly.

As my first game engine platform, I can recommend Unity for first time learners as well as for creating full production games.

Pros

Unity is a great entry level game engine development platform that is easy to learn and offers a great variety of deployment capabilities from console to mobile games.

Cons

Takes quite some time to learn as the same for most game engines. Also it's quite performance heavy and its not easy to debug for most of the time.

My experience overall is really fine, its fairly easy to use, fast to implement stuff and logically structured in terms of UI and meta data or ways to implement stuf.

Pros

Its easy to use and getting into it is nearly self explanatory. There are alot of ressources avaiable to look into if u are stuck at some point.

Cons

The performance of Unity is sometimes hard to manage when it comes to high quality levels but that can vary.

Alternatives considered

[Unreal Engine](https://www.capterra.com/p/158599/Unreal-Engine/)

[Godot Engine](https://www.capterra.com/p/234843/Godot-Engine/)

Reasons for choosing Unity

Its ease of use is a pro for using unity over UE 4 or 5 and Godot wise i prefer Unity cause it was not well developed or in a good stage when i started getting into game design.

I use Unity to make games on the side, i.e. it's not part of my regular job. Originally I was just curious, but eventually was making games and posting them in the store for download.

Pros

Unity is used broadly by game developers, because it does the job so well. Can create a game once and then print it to support all mobile and PC platforms, even VR headsets. Very intuitive UI and produces a game that'll run well even on low-end HW.

Cons

Can't handle well overly complex / elaborate game definitions. For demanding games the optimization it's capable of, isn't as good as some of it's competitors.

Pros

I liked the easy to understand interface and how simple it is to learn in regards to game making. I also like the ease of crafting small prototypes before a full launch.

Cons

I don’t like how resource intensive it is on your computer. It’s also almost completely in C# so no wiggle room to utilize other languages to code.
