### "Crea mundos virtuales sin limites."

September 2, 2025

5.0

### "Unreal Engine is your next 3D game engine!"

August 15, 2024

4.0

Unreal Engine is very powerful compared to other engines I used. But it is one of the more confusing ones to learn if you are starting out with less coding knowledge.

Pros

Unreal Engine is a great game engine for developing AAA games. It is very powerful compared to other 3D game engines. It can run code in C/C++ or in the visual Blueprints code.

Cons

It is hard to get to know and it is pretty hard to understand the layout at first glance. They do charge 5% if your game makes over 1 million USD in total.

### "GRAPHICS ARE GOOD"

August 2, 2024

So far playing games under UNREAL ENGINE is good and nice, it helps my gaming experience more exciting and intense, game graphics is one to consider in playing so better to check also PC requirements to meet quality graphics that UNREAL ENGINE provides to better gaming experience.

Pros

As far as I know PUBG is one of the game that the Graphics was under UNREAL ENGINE, during play game for me graphics are nice and very detailed, graphics in max settings was likely gives your games intense and exciting.

Cons

Since graphics is nice and very detailed mostly games under UNREAL ENGINE needs high PC Requirements. but I think there is an option you can lower the graphics at cost of game speed.

Pros

The procedural generation features in UE5.1+ have helped me make level concepts and showcases much much faster than before

Cons

The programming requirements to learn the engine is steep, the blueprint system is good enough for the novice but quickly shows gaps in which good programming knowledge and approach is a prerequisite

### "A massively comprehensive tool"

June 13, 2024

5.0

Overall it's overtaking the industry and taking Unity's place, but could use some work on the UI

Pros

I love how you can quite literally build top notch indutry level games with unreal, so many tool, capabilities and even internal tutorials to guids you throughout it

Cons

Not exactly user friendly, the sheer amount of functions can be overwhelming and the no code capabilities aren't exactly the best.

### "It's Unreal!"

October 12, 2023

5.0

My personal overall experience with Unreal Engine is extremely positive. When I get inspired to make a beautiful 3D scene, I instantly go into Unreal Engine to create amazing lifelike 3D Graphics.

Pros

By far, the most enjoyable feature in Unreal Engine is the stunning graphics it is able to produce; all with a click of a button! Unreal Engine is by far the most powerful game engine available to the public.

Cons

Of course, with stunning graphics comes cost of performance. However, Unreal Engine manages to keep these hardware requirements rather low in today's standards as it utilizes its feature of streaming assets to improve performance. Unreal Engine's least great feature is the hardware requirements.

### "Unreal Engine: The Game Engine for You"

September 15, 2023

5.0

Unreal Engine has been a great engine to use for both prototyping and fine tuning projects. The built-in tools as well as the axillary tools available for download and integration result in your dreams truly being the limit, as can be seen in many amazing, extremely high quality games made using Unreal Engine.

Pros

Unreal has been used for a number of triple A games, and after using the product, it is understandable why. Many features are easy to pick up, but underneath the simplicity the nuts and bolts are very complex and well integrated. With a thorough knowledge of coding, one boarders on wielding magic when using Unreal Engine.

Cons

The learning curve is rather steep, as is to be expected; coding, game development, etc, is hard, and takes much knowledge and skills. However, Unreal Engine provides many learning aids both in the program itself and in axillary programs they run and support. Once the base knowledge has been gained and imprinted into the mind, the tool only becomes more useful.

### "Unreal Engine is a Must-Have Powerhouse for nearly any Artistic Developer"

May 15, 2022

5.0

I wanted to learn to make Games but struggled with programming and Unreal Engine made it a very simple and straight forward process along with having lots of great assets for free every month. Most of the time if I need help I can find it either via the forums or youtube and udemy tutorials to bring my dream game ideas fully to life along with learning more each and every day.

Pros

I love that UE is backed by amazing tutorials, keeps improving, has a lot of free assets, and is always very fun to jump right into using constantly along with the fact that it has the best Visual Scripting (Blueprints) toolset around to make it easy for anyone to make games or other various projects.

Cons

Programming can be frustrating at times, Customer Support is almost non-existent, and occasionally trying to learn how to do something in it can become a nuance. On top of that some of the plugins and tools from third-parties are extremely expensive and overpriced which can force hackney methods to problem-solve.

### "Definitely advised for a novice game creator as it is simple to learn and cost-free!"

September 10, 2022

4.0

Overall, novice and experienced game makers should definitely try it. Personally, I've found it enjoyable and have made numerous 3D environments. Even while it could be challenging at first, with little practice, you'll get the feel of it.

Pros

The user-friendly and approachable design of Unreal Engine is excellent. You don't need to be a programmer to use it and obtain results with it that are helpful. Thanks to its user-friendly interface and rich toolkit, you may use it at any level, from beginner to expert. It offers superior graphic technology and material editors compared to its competitors, which are very helpful to game designers. Unreal Engine's visual scripting makes it simple to create a game even if you've never programmed before. The engine is already capable of running a huge variety of games.

Cons

To be expected with complex software, some of the capabilities are understandably challenging to learn. Finding the logic required to use the Blueprints is the hardest part. Because Unreal engine offers so much to offer those looking to create levels, import animation, etc., it could seem intimidating at first.

### "Extraordinary game engine for complex 3D games but pretty bad for small 2D projects"

May 22, 2020

4.0

Unreal Engine 4 is great and we love it because we're indie and we don't really want to have more expenses that we require. It's basically a full program with everything you need for 3D game development. Their asset store with free and paid assets can save up so much time! And the animation blending tool is amazing, if you can find it cause of the heavy interface that is. Prototyping can be kinda easily done using the blueprints and it could have no coding involved if one chooses so.

Pros

Unreal Engine is an industry standard application for creating complex 3D games. The pricing is great for indies as UE4 takes a rev share only if the product goes above a revenue threshold. As with UE5 that threshold will be 1 mil $ and let's face it, what indie game will make it so far? And then it's supposedly 5%. UE4 has everything you need for big 3D projects: \* coding close to the machine in C++ so you can go almost as deep as you want \* the software itself can be shippe with the source code so you can alter it \* if you prefer a less code heavy approach you can use their blueprint editor which acts like a flowchart \* great animation tool with easy to use blending \* free forever assets from the UE4 team and as well as from the community monthly (this is really amazing compared to the competition, you can just hoard assets for a whole year and when you decide to get into it you'll have so many free things to choose from already) \* easy networking and they don\\t ask that you use any of their services \* a lot of guides and tutorials both from the UE4 team as well as from the community \* a mature community (compared to say Unity which got a lot of their developers through viral youtubers showcasing games made in Unity) \* a lot of paid (and free) assets to choose from

Cons

Unreal Engine being so complex and close to the machine requires a lot of time even for the most basic of actions unless you have a super powerful computer and I think this is the biggest con with the software. Other cons are the following: \* bugs, as the competition has them too, though it seems to me that UE4 has a bit more \* crashes, it crashes more than Unity at least on my computer which is not too powerful actually \* would have big problems running on laptops compared to the competition (Unity) \* weird interface, not too consistent \* bulky interface, a lot of buttons everywhere and I find myself not using half of them \* big installation size which can become a problem if you keep a few versions up (to open different projects and not have to migrate them) \* very rarely, assets from the store are discovered as being fraudulent \* wonky for 2D, a project like that needs way more work than Unity \* launcher is kinda laggy

### "Unreal is the engine of choice for advanced 3D projects"

April 22, 2019

5.0

I recommend Unreal for any Studio that doesn't need an in-house engine and wants to work on 3D heavy projects. This engine will allow any Studio with the right resources, to create a project that could easily compete with bigger Studios. It's easily accessible, cheap, powerful and has a great history and support to it.

Pros

Being based on an existing game, and evolving since the earlier ages of 3D games, Unreal3D is the perfect match for any Studio which doesn't want to build, maintain and optimize its own in-house Engine. The expertise of Epic, the number of users worldwide and the multiple layers of development allows many different users to access and create assets/features easily. The Engine comes up with a great online tutorial and basic project within the engine, allowing anyone to play around and create prototypes easily. Blueprints are also a great way for anyone to experiment with behaviors and mechanics, without any code knowledge. When getting deeper into the production of a project, the possibility to turn those blueprints into actual C++ code, offers even more optimization possibilities to the developers. The access to a lot of plugins, assets and blueprints on the Unreal Marketplace is also a great way to share knowledge and allow projects to move forward.

Cons

The Engine is heavy and demands a powerful computer. This is a mandatory investment if you want to push your project further. The Engine is also very fat and the bigger it grows, the more space it will take on your versioning software. Unreal3D also offers limited compatibility with git (our version software of choice).

### "3D game development tools and what to look for"

November 25, 2022

4.0

I had a good experience using unreal I even created a few hyper casual games from it.

Pros

Since I've used the product when it was called unreal editor, I like that you can rapidly make prototypes test your design and then change it to fit the needs of development. Plus you can use pre-made models or import characters and landscapes from Maya.

Cons

The one thing I noticed that the blueprint design can get out of hand very quickly if you do not set it up correctly.

After more than 2 years of use, we can confidently say Unreal Engine is the best software for 3D visualization Game Development and Simulation. The realism is UNREAL.

Pros

We here at Creative Alliance are involved daily in graphics designing and 3D animation. Unreal Engine is our go-to software for daily content. We have been able to provide high quality content to our consumers with Unreal Engine and recent Metahuman Editor integration has been a bonus.

Cons

### "The Clear Choice for Low-Code Game Development"

September 14, 2021

5.0

Once you get used to the clunky interface, Unreal Engine is by far the best game development environment for my needs. Epic Games has a ton of assets available for free that make game development a breeze. You can deploy games made Unreal just about anywhere, too, without having to pay per export modules (I'm looking at you, Game Maker). I just really, really like Unreal.

Pros

The thing I like the most about Unreal is that the Blueprints, which are its visual scripting features, are part of Unreal's DNA. It's been a part of Unreal for ages. Visual scripting in competing engines like Unity is an afterthought, and therefore isn't nearly as well implemented. Another fantastic thing about Unreal is that Epic Games keeps acquiring really good companion software companies. Just by using Megascans you can get amazing graphics assets for your games without spending a dime. Incredible value all around.

Cons

Everyone knows Unreal's interface is outdated and clunky to use. I'm in the same boat. It's just terrible. Even the asset marketplace is terrible to navigate. It can definitely get extremely frustrating. But when you compare it to what Unreal offers elsewhere, as well as just how clunky Unity and Godot are also, then you realize you're coming out of it all with a net positive.

### "What is not to love about a AAA game engine that is given to you for free??"

September 13, 2022

5.0

It's been a really good one. Their support for it is really good and they make sure to include their people that know the particular areas of the Engine really well that you are utilizing.

Pros

I love how incredible powerful it is yet still remains relatively easy to use. It has pretty much every feature you could need and if it doesn't, you can add it since its open source. You have an incredibly powerful tool at your disposal. You can use it from everything from games, to architecture visualization, and whatever else your imagination can dream up.

Cons

The Editor needs a pretty beefy computer to run well, especially when you need to build the lighting in a level. You can set up cloud services to assist with this though, but that's an additional cost. It does so much that there are some things it just doesn't do well, yet. Like the multi-user editor environment; it works, but you have to jump through some hoops to get it to work and it gets out of sync easily.

Reason for choosing Unreal Engine

UnrealEngine is the only thing that can do what we wanted to do with it.

### "The most powerful game engine that unfortunately is really hard to run in low specs devices "

May 30, 2018

5.0

Easiest learning curve ever, even for the shaders/materials taboo. The visualization of code in graphs (Blueprints) also helps to keep code organized, documented and optimized.

Pros

This engine is a shortcut to get an amazing final product in both aesthetics and code. The Blueprints system can do almost everything traditional code can. It's priceless to have a visual way to debug: you can see all the paths taken in the execution in real time. My favorite feature is the material creator (equivalent to shaders) based on graph nodes, which is becoming the standard nowadays, but since it's an old feature in UE it has been improved time after time being one of the most robust features. The particles system is also stunning: almost limitless, allows you to run them using your graphics card which helps to preserve the efficiency of your product (specially games). Official documentation and tutorials are A+ quality and most of the old material you can find in places like youtube still works (for UE4).

Cons

For me the hardest fact to accept is that you can't run Unreal Engine 4 Editor in a "normal" specs laptop (they explicitly say it on the requirements page), but also your final products will have higher requirements, unless you spend lots of hours and effort in optimization like it was perfectly done with Sea of Thieves and Fortnite. I shared my 3rd person spaceship prototype game with some friends and they got around 10 fps on normal (kind of old) laptops. Nothing less than i5 could run it fluidly even with 4Gb ram.

### "The best choice for ambitious 3D Games"

January 22, 2020

5.0

I really liked using Unreal and prototyping quick ideas. It's a really flexible engine and really powerful. Even the testing stuff look and run great. I wish there was a more open community that helped each other out or introduced new users to advanced knowledge of the engine that you will only earn with time by using it.

Pros

Unreal Engine has grown over the years and it's now more friendly to single developers, indy movie produces and indy game studios as well. It has a robust toolset that allows you to create 3D games with one of the best engines for realistic looks, yet you can use models that fit your artistic vision, ex: stylized games. If you want an example of how small studios can make a good unreal game, look for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and if you want to look for AAA Games that look extremely realistic or movie quality, look at Gears of War 5 or Kingdom Hearts 3. Unreal also has an asset store where you can buy models or tools to help you quickly build or prototype your game and it has a blueprint system that allows you to program your game logic without knowing how to write in C++. The engine also runs in a myriad of platforms including mobile.

Cons

One of the downsides of Unreal is how complex it is when comparing it to Godot or Unity. The community for it, it's very small and a lot of the people who have knowledge on Unreal are tied behind studio contracts and maybe they're not allowed to share or help around in the web much, but when you look at Unity, there's dozens and dozens of websites, youtubers, courses and resources that you could basically build a game with no knowledge, but in Unreal it will take a lot of time and expertise on what you're doing. Also one last thing, you can build 2D games in Unreal, but you're better off using GameMaker or Unity for 2D Games. The community and engine support is just bigger and bettter.

Alternatives considered

[Unity](https://www.capterra.com/p/158591/Unity/)

Reason for choosing Unreal Engine

I chose Unity because it was easier and more versatile for me to work on my project. Unity also has better support for 2D, where Unreal it's kind of a miss.

### "Achieving near-perfection in the Unreal Engine"

March 12, 2022

3.0

In terms of visual fidelity, Unreal Engine is great for game jams. However, when working on commercial games, Unreal Engine projects can get out of hand. There are many reasons why making a new game in Unreal can be overwhelming, frustrating, or even a good idea, but there are also many reasons why making a new game in Unreal can be the best option for your project. The Unreal Engine can be a good tool if your entire team is familiar with it, depending on the type of game you're making.

Pros

The visuals in Unreal Engine games are stunning, and the cross-platform capabilities are excellent. Technically, it's superior to Unity, but in terms of usability, it's more stable. In terms of updates and bug fixes, Unreal is ahead of Unity, and its pricing is unbeatable.

Cons

The node material editor is the only thing I can think of that I don't like. It's not very user-friendly, and the names of the nodes required to construct a material are unlike anything I've seen in any other DCC. Because of just that one aspect, the learning curve is quite steep.

### "La mia ottima esperienza con Unreal Engine! "

July 20, 2023

5.0

### "Possibility Driven by the Community"

March 12, 2022

4.0

The visual description provided by Unreal engine has been a crucial tool for us because it doesn't even require coding experience because the visual description that it provides is comparatively easy and can also be easily taught. Using the Unreal Engine, we've been able to make our game more visually appealing and engaging for our players.

Pros

There are numerous AAA games developed in the Unreal Engine, which only serves to further cement its reputation as a leading platform for the creation of video games. With Ue's multiplatform support, it's easy to bring a console game to a mobile device.

Cons

To use UE, you'll have to spend years mastering the tiniest of details. In spite of the program's advanced user interface, the learning curve remains steep. As a tool for those who already know how to use it, but as an investment of time and money for small-time indie companies, it is a waste of time and money.
