### "Unreal engine in video games"

March 19, 2019

5.0

I love the Unreal Engine and i would like to see it even more in video games.

Pros

Unreal engine in video games is the best game engine a have ever seen. I think that people working at Epic have something really special and that they need to continue their work towards the better world for gamers. I loved the Unreal Engine first in the UT games, and i loved it ever since.

Cons

Sometimes it can be a little performace heavy. But not to much.

### "The perfect software for game developing."

October 31, 2018

5.0

As someone who does not know how to code (programming), i loved unreal. Unreal uses the blueprint concept for coding, which makes it so much easier to code. But i love to set up an environment in video games, so unreal is perfect for that.

Pros

Unreal engine is the best software you can get for game developing. It is super user friendly, pretty easy to learn the basic, it looks good (good UI design) and the community is super active. It's super easy to find any documentation or to find answers to your questions on forums. Since Unreal Engine is free to use, everybody is using it, so everybody post questions, articles or answers. Also, very powerful software, we're talking about the most used game engine on the market (gears of war, batman arkham, XCOM, fortnite). And big thumbs up to Epic games for making it free to use for anyone.

Cons

You need to have a pretty good computer to be able to use it. I mean it's obvious, but be ready to have some lags.

Pros

It is full of objects to create your game/application. We used many of those for long time.

Cons

Not at all. It is a complete software, maybe I liked least the interface, it could be made more easy to see.

### "When you want your game to look great out of the box."

April 10, 2019

4.0

When building a 3D game in an open-world environment, Unreal Engine is the obvious first choice. Networking support is more mature and games look great without much tweaking. Unfortunately, for 2D game development, Unreal Engine is not the first choice. If visual scripting is your go-to then Unreal Engine is an excellent choice.

Pros

Compared to other 3D game development application , Unreal Engine provides a more aesthetically good looking game presentation that competing products. While Unity developed games can look very good, they require more tweaking and use of substance editor and additional assets to reach the level of realism Unreal Engine achieves from the start. Visual scripting support is built-in and is a mature tool compared with competing offerings such as PlayMaker or FlowCanvas for Unity.

Cons

Editor layout took a little getting-used-to compared with Unity. 2D game development support is not as robust or mature as Unity's built-in support.

### "An excellent too for advanced game development"

September 23, 2019

5.0

I have been using Unreal Engine in order to develop my own high graphics and beautiful games.

Pros

Unreal Engine is a an extraordinary tool for creating quality high graphics games. A great advantage that the software has is that the final products works on any type of device. The graphics and light quality of the software is more realistic and advanced compared to any other game engine. The software has its own store where they provide many different assets for your game. For the beginner developers Unreal Engine provides Blueprints, with which the user can create games without any knowledge of programming language.

Cons

The only disadvantage of the software is that it requires a powerful computer and your final product will also have high requirements.

### "Such a robust game engine"

May 19, 2018

5.0

Once you look at games produced with unreal engine it is really a no brainer figuring out why it is leading the game development industry, it is just so powerful and a good experience overall when working with it. I highly recommend it.

Pros

Unreal engine is one of the game engines that is setting the standard in todays video games industry. It is so powerful and it's games have such a high quality. For any programmer with a solid C++ knowledge beginning your experience with unreal programming shouldn't be much problem. Something that is a plus with this engine is how many tutorials online you can find, which is always a plus either when you are a begginer or when you want to go pro.

Cons

Even small games produced with Unreal engine are really heavy compared with other engines, however quality always comes at a price.

### "Unreal Engine: Totally an Unreal Experience"

July 8, 2021

5.0

Unreal Engine is not only a game engine, its an all-in-one package for 2/3D designing, be it games, product videos, trailers, characters, landscapes and what not. Given its complexity it is not as easy to use, but the documentation is amazing, which makes it very easy to learn how to navigate around Unreal Engine.

Pros

Everything! Unreal Engine is one of the biggest open sourced game engines available and is totally free. One would expect that since its free it would lack features as compared to proprietary engines, well, they are wrong. It has everything, from managing simple 2D animation to complex 3D designing. Blueprints on the other hand provides an excellent utility to "write" code by simple drag and drop attributes, without the need of writing code.

Cons

Since Unreal Engine is not developed for having one application in mind, it has certain design flaws which in my opinion are acceptable. For example, it is not as straightforward as a highly sophisticated engine has which is made for a particular task, say 2D character animation. Although, Unreal Engine is powerful enough to do almost anything if one knows their way around it.

### "unreal Engine - An advanced game engine"

April 28, 2020

5.0

The overall experience is 95% positive when considering the Unreal engine and according to my experience with unreal engine this is one of the best platform for AAA game development.

Pros

The render pipeline is the best feature in the Unreal engine. Unreal engine can provide high quality, extreme realistic and advance graphics towards any game. Unreal engine also can be used in architectural visualizations. Another benefit is unreal engine has a feature called the blueprints which can be very helpful to game developers who don't have any programming knowledge.

Cons

Not like other game engines, unreal engine requires high processing power and memory. When it comes to rendering or executing a build the computer cannot be used for another process. Also user interfaces are little bit confusing.

### "Simulated environment creator"

October 24, 2022

5.0

It is a well-known tool in the gaming industry, but it is possible to use it to create simulated environments within any scenario or industry for product presentation.

Pros

One of the best game creation tools is also used to create simulated environments, I believe it is one of the easiest tools to use and when you have difficulty, it's very easy to find help.

Cons

The entire tool is in English, so it's difficult to use it if you don't have a little understanding of the language.

Reason for choosing Unreal Engine

I chose this product because of its reputation and because it has no cost, being very welcome for use within the company and for what is needed in the creation of simulated environments.

### "Very good, innovative and functional!"

September 3, 2021

5.0

I already had the chance to play with this engine. And the beauty of every environment that it provides is clear. It's innovative, from life to every created creation and has the chance to command and be at the forefront of a new generation of games.

Pros

It's a good engine! Sensational games were made with it. I believe that to highlight graphic minutiae and lighting is ideal for the new generation of video games. I like how easy everything is rendered with this engine. Making even a developer's work more practical.

Cons

What I liked the least was that in certain games, as it is an advanced engine, it needs to meet the expectations of what it proposes. And when it goes to mobile or a previous generation console, the exception reduces. Because you see it doesn't offer what it could.

### "Unreal Engine for Game and Mod Creation"

October 28, 2021

5.0

When creating mods for Ark: Survival Evolved this is the main option you use and it made it extremely easy to do.

Pros

The amount of features included in Unreal Engine are extremely rich. There are so many options to create or just customize an already built character or map that you can get lost in it for hours.

Cons

Nothing, every aspect of this program I genuinely enjoyed using.

### "A more professional game engine for large game projects."

April 10, 2018

5.0

Pros

Compared to Unity which is popular for mobile game developing, Unreal is used frequently for triple-A game developing, for example, Final Fantasy XV and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. According to my experience, the most thing I like about Unreal is its light and shadow renderer. It is vivid and life-like. It can make my game approximates reality as much as possible. So Unreal is really suitable for developing open world game which demands a high quality of graphics.

Cons

We have to use C++ for scripting in Unreal. C++ is a more difficult language to master compared to C# or javascript in Unity scripting. There are a lot of concepts like pointers which demands a lot of time to learn and a deep understanding of computer science. This is a little difficult for non-Computer Science major.

### "Unreal Engine - Everything a budding 3D Artist needs"

August 30, 2018

5.0

100 positive experience. They consistently refine the software, making it easier and easier to use. And they develop a wealth of tutorials and assets to get people developing quickly.

Pros

Basically the best thing about this software is that it gives you everything you need, be an individual or a 300 man team, to make top quality games. There is no cut down package, and Epic games are constantly updating it and making it easier to use.

Cons

I'm not sure what to really say here.. I have some issues with the animation setup. things can be a bit convoluted. And their material setup is not for the faint hearted.. But these are small things that are constantly being improved.

### "Best Place to Begin Game Development"

December 18, 2019

4.0

Overall, Unreal Engine provides useful features that make game development easier and more efficient. It does require a lot of resources from your end in terms of computer performance and time to learn the software, but if you put in the time it will be very worth it.

Pros

Unreal Engine makes game development a breeze for developers. There are a lot of robust tools that enhance your experience and help you start implementing ideas quickly without much pain.

Cons

There is a learning curve and sometimes the software can be buggy. It's hard to navigate because of the massive amount of features but if taken the time to learn, it can be a valuable asset to your development project.

### "Game Design in Anyone's Hands"

December 6, 2019

5.0

Whether you are curious and would like to learn game design at your own pace or you are a start up who is looking to either break into the mobile and pc gaming market, Unreal Engine is the tool that you can use. Their pay schedule is more than reasonable and makes creating, marketing, and releasing a game a very real possibility for anyone with a computer fast enough to run it and the creativity and drive to dream and build it.

Pros

The Unreal Engine is massive and impressive and available for anyone to use. It's amazing to me that the creators of this game engine have managed to package it in a way that allows it to be accessible to beginners, while still being a massive tool for commercial designers who use it to the fullest of its capabilities. On top of a truly immense functionality, the Unreal Engine also comes with all of the learning tools you could need and a ready community of users and support to aid in learning and creativity. It's an entire virtual nation of its own, and is truly impressive.

Cons

The Unreal Engine is HUGE. So, if you don't have the equipment to run it, you will either have lag time and sluggish processing, or it won't be able to run at all. Even so, most computers today, are capable of handling the processing power required to launch and use Unreal Engine. It's only the older machines that struggle or are out of reach.

### "The most promising software"

August 6, 2022

5.0

I use unreal for architectural rendering, I really like this software for its rendering speed, I believe that this software will grow very fast and will have more and more tools to make it even more incredible.

Pros

From its innovative technology, which allows an extremely fast and high quality rendering, generating almost instantaneous calculations of light bounce.

Cons

The software is still far from comparing itself with other great modeling and rendering software on the market, in terms of tools. Its interface is still very primitive and could improve a lot. But I believe that this software with each new update is getting better and better and it won't take long for it to be clashing with other great modeling and rendering software on the market. Undoubtedly, it is the most promising software for the gaming and real-time rendering market.

### "The Unreal Engine Journey "

August 3, 2018

5.0

My overall experience with the Unreal Engine has been a blast. I learn a bit every day and I try to get accustom to all the software related to unreal in some form or another.

Pros

The software is free and there is a lot of free assets on the asset store. There is a booming community and there is learning material everywhere.

Cons

There is a very steep learning curve when it comes to game development. Sure you can do a bit with the engine but the engine needs to be paired with the knowledge of different fields such as modellin and asset creating in a different program .

### "Amazing gaming desinging software"

July 25, 2018

5.0

Working with unreal engine might not be the easiest thing you'll ever do, but if you get the hang of it, the game's quality is second to none, you will produce amazing content with lower effort than other platforms. I just recommend you get a good pc with a lot of memory for you to get the most out of this amazing software.

Pros

One thing that I really love about unreal engine is how many tutorials are online, it can have a steep learning curve, but if you invest some time learning the ropes, you can produce incredible content, there is a reason why this game engine is dominating the game industry.

Cons

This software is really heavy and demands a lot of power from my pc. Also is worth noting that since games created with unreal have such an amazing quality, even the smallest games are really heavy and take a lot of disk space.
