### "The video game engine that I am just beginning to test."

April 19, 2021

4.0

I am dedicated to everything that has to do with multimedia design, so any medium that can generate growth in my experience is always welcome. I thank unreal engine for existing and being able to give us the opportunity to create virtual spaces in a comfortable way.

Pros

I am using this program recently, I am impressed by the level of detail it handles and how virtual environments can be created, I like it because it is multiplatform, that is, it can create my experiences on cell phones, PCs or other devices I like it because it is free and it is fair that you have to pay when your project is commercial, which allows you to feel new to be able to explore many things.

Cons

The weight of the projects is very large, it takes up a lot of space, there is not such a large community to consult things, despite this it is a good program.

### "I am a PC gamer, and have used games that run on Unreal Engine for quite some time"

July 11, 2018

5.0

Pros

I love gaming, I love games that run on Unreal Engine. As a PC gamer, the quality of games and how they run is very important to me, and games built on the Unreal engine are beautiful!

Cons

Nothing. I've never had an issue with games built on the Unreal engine. I have heard people say that it uses a lot of resources but I've never had that issue.

Using for animation, game development, visualization and rendering

Pros

One of the reason is there realistic human like form. Starting from metahuman, draper for clothes simulation, physics and collision

Cons

One of the reason I don't like it is because they make things complicated for beginners.

### "Epic - Lives Up to its Name!"

March 27, 2018

5.0

Pros

Ever wanted to become a game designer or even just dabble with the idea? Look no further! The Unreal engine has been setting the benchmark for gaming for years and there's a good reason why - it allows you to create breathtaking games with \*relative\* ease.

Cons

As with any 3D rendering software - you'll want to check out tutorials online to not only help you learn, but to also unlock the program's full potential. The Unreal engine is a beast - enjoy!

I love the experience with UE, i used it to make a Game and a Simultion, wich both where funny expereince ,in the UE and i never had problems that where on the UE side more on the knowledge side.

Pros

There is no need to code wich is good for beginners that cant code in c++. I personally still like coding more also the new UE5 is just overwhelming with all the possiblitys one has.

Cons

Like i said the only con would be C++ for beginners.

### "Perfect Even for Begineers"

December 16, 2018

5.0

Pros

I was able to do a majority of the functions that we needed with the blueprints scripting feature. This made it easier for even our art teams to digest the info at a glance without knowing about coding.

Cons

There's a percentage royalty that they ask for on your released projects and some other tools don't ask for that.

### "One of the best experiences for making 3D games."

February 13, 2018

5.0

Pros

The graphics it outputs are amazing. It is easy to combine with other development tools. Can start working for no cost, getting your toes wet very easily. Visual coding is a game changer.

Cons

Have to go to third-party sources to find sufficient tutorials. Because blueprint is proprietary, the code is not easily transferred anywhere. A large screen workspace is almost required.

### "Interesting alternative for Architectural Virtualization"

January 16, 2023

5.0

One project and one product developed. So far so good, it was well received by our clients.

Pros

The powerful engine delivers amazing results for architectural virtualizations especially in interior tours for our clients. Even if this software is not naturally intended to be for architecture and more for game design, it worked as charm for us and delivered a disruptive product for the market.

Cons

It is not easy to use and we needed to hire someone who knew the software and was able to develop the virtualization we needed for a residential building. Besides that, it is just great.

### "Free game engine AAA titles use"

June 26, 2018

5.0

A free game development engine that large game studios use to create AAA titles.

Pros

a free game engine used to develop quality games. There are a lot of free resources available for this engine as well. Easy to use and user friendly.

Cons

There is a lack of training and instructional videos for this game engine. Compared to other game engines, this one should have quite a few more.

### "Design your game, not the engine."

September 5, 2019

5.0

Having a quality engine with many resources available has cut an unimaginable amount of time and stress from my project, as well as giving me the support to not give up in frustration. The support links and staff were a huge help when needed.

Pros

The availability of so many resources allows you to work on your product instead of all the micro-tools you will need prior to designing your game.

Cons

It's a little overwhelmin at first, it's not that you can't understand it as much as each project is so different they can't "click to build" their console, making it difficult to find your starting steps.

Reason for choosing Unreal Engine

In doing research, this company seemed to be the most dedicated in helping the user complete their project, not to mention they are one of the most used engines out there.

### "A powerful engine that is free for hobbyist and trial user to try out and stretch their wings."

March 14, 2018

5.0

Pros

It is a powerful gaming design engine that boast a huge array of feature. From creating simple smart phone games to blockbuster games, this program can do it all. With the ability to design using real time graphical editing or the ability to behind the scenes and edit the code itself, it is great for novices and experts alike. There is also a create community behind it and many tutorials.

Cons

It is a very steep learning curve to begin using it in a practical sense. When you first load it up, the screen is bombarded with windows, and tools, making it very confusing to make sense of it all as you start. The real time graphical editing also is resource hungry on your computer resources, so I reccomend using a modern computer.

### "Unreal: The next step after Unity"

December 12, 2018

5.0

Pros

\-Easy programming for artists because Unreal uses Blueprints (the closest example of how they look and work is "node editor" on maya) -Makes the most of his tools automatically (For example light baking, rigging and replacement 3d model with animations -It's free -It has Starter proyects for different types of videogames (For example, Unreal has de race proyect start, first person shooter and 3rd person)

Cons

\-Interface IS NOT intuitive; at te start could be very confusing because it has a lot of things that we are not used to seeing, for example, 3d models on the scene are called "actors", and there are 3 different menus with different tools, so, it could be very confusing

### "A Blockbuster AAA game engine "

December 7, 2020

4.0

Using Unreal Engine has been a marvellous experience so far. Even though getting started has a steeper learning curve than other engines, it is well worth the time and effort invested. Unreal Engine lets you make games with fantastic graphics and without code, via Blueprints. It has greatly reduced the time taken to produce good looking prototypes and full games.

Pros

What I like the most about Unreal Engine is that its graphical prowess is unmatched in the free-to-use Game Engine market. It excels in providing dazzling shadows and lighting out of the box and its version of Visual Scripting aka Blueprints, is by far the best visual alternative to coding.

Cons

The mobile platforms support is less than sub par, and exporting your games to mobile platforms is a pain point. Also, even though the learning resources are increasing, it still pales to Unity. Finally, AR support in Unreal is really concerning as Unity is ahead of it by leaps and bounds.
