My overall experience has been positive. It has significantly streamlined our prospecting workflow. While you have to stay organized with your credits to maximize value, the quality and volume of the contact data make it a foundational tool for our sales team.

Pros

I like that Apollo.io scrapes data and identifies potential leads incredibly efficient across multiple databases. Which is extremely useful when you are looking for a prospects and using the filter options which really helps in building a targeted list for outbound campaigns.

Cons

Apollo.io uses a credit-based system can be a bit tricky to manage at first. You have to be careful with how you spend credits, especially on premium data like mobile numbers, so it requires some planning to ensure you don't run out before the end of the month.

We were previously paying $15,000 a year for ZoomInfo, but with Apollo, we are paying less than $100 a month for the credits we actually need. Also since Apollo scrapes emails across multiple databases sometimes a prospect's email that was found on ZoomInfo was not always accurate or available.

I chose Apollo as my main \*\*contact data source\*\* after comparing it with ZoomInfo, Hunter.io, RocketReach, and Seamless. For my startup use case, it gives the best tradeoff between database quality, coverage, and cost. I still verify key contacts separately, but Apollo is the tool I decided to keep using regularly.

Pros

Apollo.io has been the best balance of database quality and price for my outbound work. I compared it with ZoomInfo, RocketReach, Seamless, and Hunter.io, and Apollo gave me enough reliable company and contact data without the enterprise-level pricing of ZoomInfo.

Cons

The data is not perfect, so I still need to verify important contacts and sometimes compare Apollo with other sources. Some emails can bounce or be missing, and the interface can feel a little busy when I only need quick validation. For high-value accounts, I would not use Apollo as the only source of truth.

So far, my experience is very positive. If budget weren't a consideration, this would definitely be a tool I wouldn't mind paying for. I am very impressed by the quality of the webinars and the training videos, Apollo is worth signing up just for them!

Pros

It's a CRM that enriches your searches with actual data and allows you to manage and schedule campaigns. The user interface is simple and intuitive, however the Apollo team organises regular free webinars to assist with onboarding. Setting up the client on your machine is quick and painless. I don't have a paid version, so I cannot discuss value for money, but even the free version with its (few) limitations is extremely useful.

Cons

Nothing specific. Sometimes, structuring a search requires a bit of lateral thinking; the search syntax may not fit everyone's intuition.

Apollo has become very disappointing. Paid plans now give only ~2,500 credits, and even email-only access costs 3–10 credits per contact due to forced waterfall and unlock systems. There is no way to disable this. Email access is slower, more expensive, and unpredictable. The old simple workflow is gone. I’m unsubscribing and would not recommend it anymore.

Pros

In the past, Apollo offered a simple and efficient way to access business emails with predictable pricing and fast exports.

Cons

Unclear pricing, forced waterfall verification, slow email access, and excessive credit consumption even for email-only exports.

Pros

I like that you can build very specific lead list with minimum effort and the user interface is simple to use. The learning curve is shorter because of all the videos and live help they offer. I think its a great tool for sales management and is definitely a good value for the money! It doesnt take long to get setup and is very secure.

Cons

My biggest dislike or should i say learning curve was all the filters but a quick live meeting answered those questions for me.

### "Good for a short time but always verify the data"

My experience was very bad with Apollo as they came up with a new credit usage system but didn't pass the benefits to us as we were billing annually. Moreover, they charge exorbitant credits for API calls and don't even try to not charge for duplicate data.

Pros

The platform is really great, very easy to navigate and user friendly. Finding data is easy and anyone, literally anyone, can do it.

Cons

The data quality is not that great and somehow they still haven't been able to decide the pricing and credits usage. It's very frustrating to see them change credits usage so often and they don't pass on the benefits of new features and changes to users who have billed annually.

Apollo.i has enabled the distributions of messages for our targeted marketing campaigns. The Apollo.io workflows enable the automated nurturing of leads and the ability to track companies and individuals engaging with content and the corporate website enables lead scoring.

Pros

The ability to define ideal customer profiles based on metrics (company size, company revenue, geographic location, industry) and quickly create targeted campaigns and workflows.

Cons

The platform is extremely powerful and there is a slight learning curve to understand the dependencies and requirement to setup workflows and campaigns. However, this is a one-time ramp up challenge that is quickly overcome.

Okay initially, for some things easy to use and work, but for more complex tasks we use other tools.

Pros

Ease of setup, FREE initially, quite straightforward to manage, and workflows/linking accounts is straightforward.

Cons

Tech support was not that great when we could not validate our domain. Our Cloudflare setup was correct and working, but would not sync. after 3 weeks, we finally got it working, after insisting Apollo review their settings.

### "Disappointing Phone Data & Poor Customer Service"

I had high expectations for Apollo.io, but it has been disappointing. The phone data is unreliable, and without accurate contact information, the platform loses much of its value. On top of that, customer service is non-existent, making it difficult to resolve issues. While the pricing is reasonable, you ultimately don’t get what you pay for. I wouldn’t recommend it for those who need quality phone numbers for outreach.

Pros

The pricing is reasonable compared to other platforms.

Cons

The phone numbers are highly inaccurate, and most of the ones provided are just generic corporate lines that I could easily find on Google. Customer service is also terrible—completely unresponsive, and I’ve been waiting over a week for a simple answer.

Apollo has been a game changer for me. It's incredibly useful and super simple to use. I mainly rely on it to get prospect data into the CRM, which makes sequencing so much easier. I love that they have a Chrome extension that sits right on your screen, so you can seamlessly use it inside LinkedIn. It saves so much time and makes the process feel effortless. If I had to mention one thing that could be better, it's that when Apollo can't find a valid email for a prospect, you can't push them to the CRM, which can be a little frustrating. Overall, though, it's been an amazing tool that has made my workflow so much smoother and more efficient.

Pros

Apollo is incredibly useful and super simple to use, I mainly use it for getting prospect data into the CRM to help with sequencing. It's also brilliant that they have a chrome extension that sits on your screen so you can easily use it inside Linkedin.

Cons

My only con is that if it cannot find a valid email for a prospect then you aren't able to push them to the CRM.

### "Stay away from this product"

Its terrible. If it wasn't cheap - this cliient wouldnt use it. They just dont understand thry are getting exactly what they paid for. Apollo is a TERRIBLE crm and its data is meh.

Pros

Apollo is trying really hard to be Hubspot and is failing miserably. I "guess" i liked the auto inset of contact info - but even that is spotty and the UX is terrible.

Cons

EVERYTHING is harder than it needs to be. You cant modify data, you cant add contacts easily. sub accounts are clumsy. When you try to add a contact and there are 3 people named John Smith - do you think it would default to the person who clearly works for that company or would it default to someone in a completely different industry? Guess which one Apollo picks. Oh workflow based on an activity.. yeah - those dont work BUT you have to pay to get them - and then you can't downgrade. When they admit its their problem. they say "we have no idea when or if that will be fixed"

Pros

It's great that Apollo.io offers services that enable us to find the path to real potential customers. I loved its ability to collect customer data that matches the search topic from all sources. I loved its presentation style, where names and contact information are always clear. It's great that we benefit from this in creating distinctive contact lists that enable us to achieve the desired targeting. I loved how Apollo.io excludes fake entities from search results.

Cons

Apollo.io has no negatives, the information it collects reflects the latest updates from all platforms. It is rare for entities that are not related to the search topic to appear in the results.

I'm the decision maker for investing in this tool but not the main user. I was involved in implementing it and work with my team on a weekly basis to make sure we're making the most of our use of it. Together with my team, we continuously explore Apollo features and applications that make sense for our developing sales approach.

Pros

This is the best all-in-one sales intelligence and productivity tool I've used in over a decade executing sales functions. Apollo has an extremely straightforward user interface. The naming mechanisms for various features intuitively make sense for sales professionals, even those new to the role, which helps immensely with adoption. We periodically ask their customer support if they have resources or recommendations for metric benchmarks, approaches to personalization, and other best practices. They are always quick to share something useful. I find them to go above and beyond with value in both their product and customer experience.

Cons

There are a lot of features, so it can be a little confusing to muddle through the differences between plan levels. Additionally, there are certain situations when I'm trying to complete a specific action and get confused by the user interface — but it's not my overall experience.

Reason for choosing Apollo.io

I've purchased several AppSumo lifetime deals for lead generation databases and none come anywhere close to the usefulness or accuracy/completeness I get out of our monthly subscription to Apollo.io. Hunter is another great tool from the lead generation perspective but it doesn't have enough connected features for me to consider paying for it over the one-stop shop that is Apollo.io for my sales operation. We also have played around with Clearbit from the website visitor tracking perspective. Unfortunately, and although I really love their product, there's no relevant plan for just this feature for my size of business. Apollo.io offers this functionality within our ideal plan tier — problem solved!

good program bad backend service as they can not fix a problem. the technicaicans have no idea on how to fix a DKIM record that is faulty from their end

agents can not fix a technical problem. we have been passed from agent to agent and they are requesting the same thing over and over from our end after wehave fixed out records

Pros

Apollo.io has always been the fastest and most efficient way to find and engage with potential customers. I love using the search and filter options and re-doing them to create main and sub-lists of potential customers. Apollo.io’s strong integration with all of our marketing and communication tools means we can easily move to direct call targeting or custom campaigns.

Cons

I fully understand the possibility of invalid contact information appearing in search results, which is no fault of Apollo.io.

We use it for enrichment and it does this well. If it could guide people through its process better, and be very clear about the various different options it provides eg. Enrichment, Engagement, Conversations - and these were given to Admins to either turn on or off for users, it would be a lot easier to manage.

Pros

It has a strong database of Companies and Contacts to enrich your CRM.

Cons

It's not intuitive and is hard for early users to navigate. It's also trying to be a CRM and a Sales Engagement tool. It is hard to know what to do when starting up.

Pros

I am using the Apollo from several years and it is one of the great tools to extract email id and phone number of potential clients.

I find it better than Zoominfo, I like it much better because there is a single user experience and an affordable pathway to upgrading. The bells and whistles on Apollo seem to have more integrity than Zoominfo. Zoominfo is living mostly off the legacy of being the only game in town when that is a thing of the past now with tools like Apollo.

Pros

I liked that they had a single user offering that still had substantive tools that allowed you to have effective prospecting without spending thousands. The limitations that are there are clearly and rightly so created to make you upgrade.

Cons

That gap of what you get as a basic user and where that ends leaves a inconclusiveness to your work and outreach. I also find that the data seems around 65% accurate. They require certain connections in trade for the basic user offerings. Cleary those connections only enhance their data pool.
