My overall experience has been positive. It has significantly streamlined our prospecting workflow. While you have to stay organized with your credits to maximize value, the quality and volume of the contact data make it a foundational tool for our sales team.

Pros

I like that Apollo.io scrapes data and identifies potential leads incredibly efficient across multiple databases. Which is extremely useful when you are looking for a prospects and using the filter options which really helps in building a targeted list for outbound campaigns.

Cons

Apollo.io uses a credit-based system can be a bit tricky to manage at first. You have to be careful with how you spend credits, especially on premium data like mobile numbers, so it requires some planning to ensure you don't run out before the end of the month.

Great tool, super helpful to get data on leads/prospects & the free use is amazing for any startups or side hustles.

Pros

Great for getting contact data and managing leads in general. It has always been super useful especially the fact that it gives you emails for free.

Cons

The extension and problems with its data continuity, it was not complaint at some popint and it kind of reduced the platforms efficiency.

Overall I love using Apollo as a search enging however they need to work on their credits for contacts model

Pros

I like that I can search for companies and specific roles and titles. This feature makes it more efficient for me to find contacts with the exact rolls I am looking for across different companies without having to visit each company's LinkedIn page individually.

Cons

Their data is somewhat old now compared to a few years back, so they need to improve on the data accuracy of the numbers that they provide for the contacts.

I chose Apollo as my main \*\*contact data source\*\* after comparing it with ZoomInfo, Hunter.io, RocketReach, and Seamless. For my startup use case, it gives the best tradeoff between database quality, coverage, and cost. I still verify key contacts separately, but Apollo is the tool I decided to keep using regularly.

Pros

Apollo.io has been the best balance of database quality and price for my outbound work. I compared it with ZoomInfo, RocketReach, Seamless, and Hunter.io, and Apollo gave me enough reliable company and contact data without the enterprise-level pricing of ZoomInfo.

Cons

The data is not perfect, so I still need to verify important contacts and sometimes compare Apollo with other sources. Some emails can bounce or be missing, and the interface can feel a little busy when I only need quick validation. For high-value accounts, I would not use Apollo as the only source of truth.

My experience was very bad with Apollo as they came up with a new credit usage system but didn't pass the benefits to us as we were billing annually. Moreover, they charge exorbitant credits for API calls and don't even try to not charge for duplicate data.

Pros

The platform is really great, very easy to navigate and user friendly. Finding data is easy and anyone, literally anyone, can do it.

Cons

The data quality is not that great and somehow they still haven't been able to decide the pricing and credits usage. It's very frustrating to see them change credits usage so often and they don't pass on the benefits of new features and changes to users who have billed annually.

Pros

Accuracy of the available database with complete details from email ID, phone number, geography, and designation.

Cons

Nothing much, sometimes the Apollo LinkedIn plugin behaves a little weird. Rest is definitely one of the most affordable database tools I have used after ZoomInfo.

The integrations with CRM platforms also make a big difference. It allows me to run outreach and organize my leads in a structured, streamlined way without constantly switching between tools or dealing with messy workflows. Another thing that stands out is the customer support. Whenever I run into questions or need clarity, the support team is responsive and helpful, which makes it easier to keep moving without delays. That kind of reliability matters, especially when you’re using the platform daily. Overall, Apollo doesn’t just make outreach more efficient, it makes the entire process easier to manage and sustain over time.

Cons

Honestly, the two things I don’t really like about Apollo are the credit system for phone numbers and the subscription pricing. The pricing feels quite high, especially when you’re trying to scale outreach. In a situation where you need to pull a large volume of leads, the current plan limit of 30,000 credits can get used up quickly, and with phone numbers costing around 8 credits each, it becomes limiting fast. It doesn’t really support heavy outbound usage at scale.

Apollo occasionally struggles with poor data hygiene, and although there are plenty of 3rd party data sources you can incorporate into your Apollo instance to use credits to "waterfall" through these sources to find prospect or company data. The issue however is this data is often incorrect when compared to publicly and easily accessible data. For example, between 5-10% of listed titles will be wrong compared to the prospects listed title on Linkedin, with no way to automatically update based on that information.

The is the most efficient lead generation tool that I've used in recent years. It is extremely fast, has a very intuitive interface, and the options available are plentiful.

Cons

The key and only issue with the platform is that after you clean your leads or check off the option the only show verified emails, your total list reduces by like 20%

We use it for enrichment and it does this well. If it could guide people through its process better, and be very clear about the various different options it provides eg. Enrichment, Engagement, Conversations - and these were given to Admins to either turn on or off for users, it would be a lot easier to manage.

It has a strong database of Companies and Contacts to enrich your CRM.

Cons

It's not intuitive and is hard for early users to navigate. It's also trying to be a CRM and a Sales Engagement tool. It is hard to know what to do when starting up.

I'm the decision maker for investing in this tool but not the main user. I was involved in implementing it and work with my team on a weekly basis to make sure we're making the most of our use of it. Together with my team, we continuously explore Apollo features and applications that make sense for our developing sales approach.

Pros

This is the best all-in-one sales intelligence and productivity tool I've used in over a decade executing sales functions. Apollo has an extremely straightforward user interface. The naming mechanisms for various features intuitively make sense for sales professionals, even those new to the role, which helps immensely with adoption. We periodically ask their customer support if they have resources or recommendations for metric benchmarks, approaches to personalization, and other best practices. They are always quick to share something useful. I find them to go above and beyond with value in both their product and customer experience.

Cons

There are a lot of features, so it can be a little confusing to muddle through the differences between plan levels. Additionally, there are certain situations when I'm trying to complete a specific action and get confused by the user interface — but it's not my overall experience.

Reason for choosing Apollo.io

I've purchased several AppSumo lifetime deals for lead generation databases and none come anywhere close to the usefulness or accuracy/completeness I get out of our monthly subscription to Apollo.io. Hunter is another great tool from the lead generation perspective but it doesn't have enough connected features for me to consider paying for it over the one-stop shop that is Apollo.io for my sales operation. We also have played around with Clearbit from the website visitor tracking perspective. Unfortunately, and although I really love their product, there's no relevant plan for just this feature for my size of business. Apollo.io offers this functionality within our ideal plan tier — problem solved!

Very happy with it, it is my main source to find emails to cold outreach.

Pros

It is very convenient, you install the Chrome extension and all you have to do is touch a single button to get a contact email. Then you can save it and execute sequences, emails and more. Light and efficient!

Cons

Sometimes you need to restart the app, cause is not working. Sometimes has incorrect emails, though is not frequent.

We purchased this software when they were running an incredible discount, so I am more than pleased for the price I paid. At full cost, I might be more annoyed with some of the failings (we do get about 10-20% of the leads bounce on our cold sequences, which could be due to bad emails provided or spam blockers).

Pros

The interface is very easy to use. I like that you get info on company's tech stack, as well as which departments are growing. This can make it interesting for building lists of accounts that may be more suited to our offering.

Cons

It often creates duplicate account records, so then I get errors when pushing leads (so I have to find the account in Apollo, merge it, and retry the push). It also isn't clear when building lists, which data has come from our CRM versus which data has come from Apollo itself. So sometimes I think I'm getting new data, and it's just giving me the bogus stuff that was already in my Salesforce.

It's a helpful tool for outbound marketing

Pros

Apollo is a must-have tool for all marketers who execute outreach. It's very easy to use but the database is its most precious feature. It's also very easy to keep track of replies, bounces, or unsubscriptions (though you have to remove contacts manually from your contact list). Its scheduled and delivered filters help you keep track of and plan ahead for campaigns. The feature where it shows how many times an e-mail has been opened helps you foresee potential leads since, for example, 50 views on one e-mail foreshadows a potential interest.

Cons

Apollo cannot distinguish between an actual reply and a "can't be delivered to x account" auto-reply, so you manually have to check whether there's an actual reply from a prospect -which can be time-consuming-. We export data and make it meaningful manually (which is also pretty time-consuming): since problems such as actual replies vs not delivered cannot be distinguished in its automatic reports.

Using Apollo, I have been able to shorten my sales cycle with my prospects as most of the leads are qualified and validated. I am able to track my follow-ups regularly. I am also able to send out bulk emails to reach out to prospects who are spread across different geographies and one might not be able to get connected on a phone call. It's a great add-on to keep for one who is having a sales role in their organizations.

Pros

The accuracy with the emails for leads is just amazing. You can maintain lead and account lists to track your pipeline or help deep-dive into a particular account. The email-tracker functionality helps a lot. You can also bulk email people which is another great feature. All in all, it's a really great sales tool to have.

Cons

Although the email functionalities are great but contact numbers provided by Apollo are something that can be improved as it is relatively lesser accurate as compared to the email lead data.

Apollo is an amazing tool that I use on regular basis to help me with my lead generation. It comes in handy to many marketing and sales folks and plays a big part in running sales campaigns.

Pros

Apollo is my go-to tool for any lead generation request, it helps to ease up my process of finding prospects' email IDs and phone numbers. I can get all the details in a single click. The Email IDs I obtain are more authentic and validated ones compared to other tools.

Cons

The paid feature is very costly and the UI/UX of navigation between pages of the free trial isn't that user-friendly.

Pros

I used it to find leads with work email and it did provide me authentic emails with 95% accuracy.

Cons

After a certain period of time it ran out of database.
