Account Manaer Internet Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great Sales Team - Tool Didn't Deliver" February 15, 2019 3.0 Pros If you just want simple in-app analytics, this might be the tool for you. It's really affordable compared to other analytics tools out there. Cons This just didn't deliver what we wanted. We got on a call with their sales team, and they REALLY overpromised what could be done with Mixpanel. We'd ask, "Can we track this...?" , and immediately their response, was "YES!" In the end, we did all the setup and the development team did a lot of customization. But the customization for dashboards just isn't there. We also didn't get all of the onboarding support that was promised. In the end, we just let the rest of the year subscription pass, and we started using an open source tool called Metabase instead. If properly set up on a high traffic site, it can separate valuable traffic from noise in less than 30 days. Cons Events get registered a bit late or not at all. This issue might be fixed now. We will keep using it in the future ! Pros We love the way analytics are delivered, and how easy it is to set up A/B campaigns for tracking the effect of incremental changes in our software. It's not easy to use, but is very to implement and start to collect information. I miss some function to predict the user behaviour, because this we need to use another tool together. Pros The marketing tool is INSANELY powerful you can configure marketing messages or campaigns based on almost any data you can pipe in. The support engineers are the nicest, best support engineers on the planet (they have incredible depth of knowledge and explain in crazy detail). We see our Mixpanel marketing communications perform 4-5x better on average than our general email marketing messages. Cons It's so sophisticated and advanced it can be difficult to know where or how to get started. If you're looking for a "simple" marketing platform, this is not for you. Review Source Joe H. It allows us to monitor complex marketing funnels and segment those funnels beyond any other software out there. You can easily customize your graphs which helps you visualize your data over time as well. Pros Great UI, making it easy to visualize your marketing funnels and segments. Tons of customization options, allowing you to build a funnel based on basically anything. Lots of documentation to help you solve complex problems. It's a great tool and easy to use. Pros Mixpanel's Funnels function is my go-to tool. It's incredible to visualize data according to behaviour and cohorts. Mixpanel makes it easy! Cons They let their Messages tool stagnate for far too long. They sold users on it and then barely supported the tool. It's good they are finally sunsetting it, but it took far too long. Documentation is pretty good and support is very quick to response and resolve any issues. Cons May be too advanced and complex for simple tasks. If you don't need to track individual behaviour of users and make complex funnels - stick with basic Google Analytics. Funnels let you visibly tell where users are dropping out so you can quick-fix it Cons Configuration and integration seem to be a bit painful. Lots of boilerplate code especially if you want to track different screens, features or even app events to other platforms. We implemented in a customer where we needed to track user behaviour to show KPIs to their investor and, although at first it was a bit difficult to understand and handle, once you get used to the tool and the documentation, you will be quite surprise about the huge possibilities. Metrics like retention, acquisition, conversion or lifetime value are not a problem anymore with Mixpanel. Cons As commented in the Pros box, it is a bit complex to use. If you only need to track simple KPIs like visits, journey, conversions and so on... maybe it is better you start with another tool like Google Analytics. Cons Reports can be hard to create and really depend on proper input, I regularly have to sort through dirty data (wrong email, etc.) to massage it can get a more accurate report. The graphs you can generate are pretty simple. Cons I wouldn't really recommend Mixpanel for new users, especially when Google Analytics 4 will have much better integration capabilities and the same or better features (for free).
